And Then Adds "Grotesque"!!
Today -- July 11, 2020 -- Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel lashed more vehemently at U. S. President Donald Trump than he has ever done before. Using the island's print, television, and Social media platforms Diaz-Canel, among other things, called Trump both "illiterate" and "grotesque."
Apparently Diaz-Canel was particularly perturbed about Trump's visit this week to the USA's powerful Southern Command military apparatus in Doral, Florida. Diaz-Canel said, "Using the U. S. nuclear military in nearby Florida to intimidate Cuban families, while also threatening their children by continually tightening the genocidal Blockade, could only be conducted by an illiterate and grotesque individual. For the American people to promote such genocide with their silence, which is apparently because of their fear of operatives in Florida and in Congress and the White House, is not lost on brave and righteous people such as the Cubans who depend on me and others to protect them against the Coronavirus pandemic and, of course, the Blockade. Never before have I blamed the fear of the American population for enabling the illiterate and grotesque Trump as he tries to eviscerate 11.2 Cubans on this island as a trade-off for winning Florida's 29 Electoral Votes needed for his re-election on November of this year. Today I do."
Also today, Cuba's Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez used the word "mendacious" to describe "what Trump is able to get away with even the powerful anti-Trump leftist media too afraid to mention Trump's genocide against Cuban families on the island. There was a time even during the Cold War when the mainstream media was not THIS afraid of the Cubans in Florida."
But in Cuba today the most flagrant denunciation of Trump came from President Miguel Diaz-Canel. He said, "The U. S. has a real problem, I think, when the American people are the only people in the world who are obliged to believe, accept, the lie that Cubans on the island want Trump and the likes of Claver-Carone, Rubio, and Diaz-Balart to come over and 'help' them. If a strong majority of Cubans in Cuba did not support me and the Revolution, I would resign today. In America's two-party political machine, fueled by obscene piles of money, it is apparent that a strong majority of Americans hate Trump, but they can't do anything about it now or probably not after the November 3rd election. Every nation in the Caribbean and throughout Latin America knows the U. S. reputation for over-throwing Democratic governments to install merciless U.S.-backed dictators like Trujillo, Pinochet, Videla, Somoso, and so forth...actions made to enrich already rich Americans even though the pretexts were always that those Democracy-loving presidents were a threat to the United States. Of course, they were a threat to the rape and plunder of their countries by rich Americans supported by the American government. When, in 2020, Americans are never told the difference between, for example, the great Democracy president Allende in Chile who was killed in a coup led Nixon and Kissinger so they could install the U.S.-friendly blood-thirty Pinochet as the U.S.-friendly bloody dictator for two bloody decades. When in the US Democracy today politicians like that can routinely perpetrate such lies, maybe it is time the American people took it back. In Cuba today, I assure you, neither I nor the Cuban media could get away with such lies because the Cubans in Cuba are much too intelligent to be so easily lied to."
