Americans STILL not ASHAMED of the Cuban Blockade.

While Cuban Children are still STARVING!!

Tracey Eaton, one of the USA's all-time greatest journalists, recently returned to Cuba to ascertain the well-known dire conditions for the 10 million Cubans on the island. He posted the above images on his Facebook page this week.
Cubans on the island mostly blame the endless U.S economic EMBARGO/Blockade that was first imposed on Cuba in 1962, right after the 1961 air-land-sea Bay of Pigs military attack on Cuba failed to overthrow Fidel Castro's revolutionary governemnt that in 1959 had overthrown the US-backed/Mafia-backed Batista dictatorship.
Since 1959 Cubans fleeing the Cuban Revolution fled northward and created Little Havana in nearby Miami Florida. Since then, rich and politifcally powerful Cuban-Americans in Miami and later in Washington have dictated the USA's Cuban policies, at least according to many Cubans on the island and many poeple worldwide.
A few miles from Florida, Cuba is very vulnerable.
In 1898 the United States, including future President Teddy Roosevelt, realized that over-extended Spain was no longer strong enough to maintain its dictatorship on Cuba. Thus the Spanish-American War fought on Cuban soil easily and quickly ended with the United States, not Spain, the dominant factor in control of Cuba.
The brutal dictator of Cuba, Fulgencio Batista, fled Cuba in the wee hours of January 1, 1959, and landed first in dictator Rafael Trujillo's Dominican Republic to avoid the rebel army charging toward Havana from the city of Santa Clara. The Batista dictatorship, with help from the U. S. and the Mafia, had used rampant tourism, gambling, drugs, prostitution, etc., to rake in tons of money as did major U. S. companies that were ubiquitous on the island and which made fortunes too.
As the Cuban Revolution took control of Cuba in january of 1959, the Miami Cubans and the United States unleashed a world-record assassination attempts against rebel leader Fidel Castro but failed to kill him. He died at age 90 in Havana in 2016.
In April of 1961 the Miami-U.S. Bay of Pigs military attack failed as shown above as Fidel Castro was awakened when U. S. bombs began falling on Camp Colombia on the edge of Havana. The CIA had told President John Kennedy that Fidel Castro would flee Havana in his getaway airplane when he heard the first bombs, but he never had a getaway airplane and instead raced hell-bent south of Havana to the coast where the land attack was taken place at the Bay of Pigs.
The avalanche of failed assaination attempts continued after the failed Bay of Pigs military attack, so in 1962 the U. S. began an economic Embargo surounding Cuba that the Cubans call a Blockade. According to declassified U. S. documents, the purpose of the Blockade was to...starve, deprive, and make miserable the Cuban people to induce them to rise up and overthrow the Cuban Revolution. The Embargo-Blockade that began in 1962 has been tightened steadily and is stronger than ever in October of 2026.
Since 2018 Miguel Diaz-Canel has been Cuba's President after his popular stint as the island's Minister of Education. He claims that the U. S. government and a biased U. S. media have used falsehoods to support the Embargo/Blockade -- with such claims that "Cuba is planning to attack the Ul." Diaz-Canel says, "Cuba has to seach for means to try to feed and educate its people and we have never searched for ways to attack the world's superpower that is so many times stronger than we are."
Notable journalist Liz Hernandez uses daily reports as well as her "The War on Cuba" documentaries to report on U.S.-Cuban Relations.
Meanwhile, Little Cuba tries to resist its largest neighbor.
But in 2026 Miami's Little Havana-born Marco Rubio is now the ULTRA-powerful U. S. Secretary of State and National Security Adviser under President Donald Trump. As a Little Havana politician in Miami/Florida, and then a longtime stint in the U. S. Senate and now as Secretary of State, Marco Rubio all of his adult life has dreamed of overthrowing the Cuban Revolution. It is now believed that he has the power to do so.
Throughout 2026 Rubio's Cuban headlines are frequent.
Nearby Miami now almost savors Cuba.
Miami-born and Little Havana's most powerful Cuban-American, Marco Rubio often "professes 'Support' for the Cuban People." However, most Cubans in Cuba simply to not believe him...citing his failure to ease the Blockade.
And, in fact, there are many Cuban-Americans who do not agree with Marco Rubio's plans for Cuba. For example, the passionate and brilliant Dailyn Brinas is one of the Cuban-Americans who founded "Cuban-Americans for Cuba" and speak profoundly on behalf of the Cubans in Cuba. In the speech above, Dailyn Brinas said, "Marco Rubio does not speak for us, not for me! And neither do his other top enablers from Miami such as Maria Salazar, Carlos Gimenez, and Mario Diaz-Balart. Our relatives in Cuba, all the families in Cuba, are suffering and dying while a few Cuban-Americans rejoice and get richer with unearned political power. This has been going on since the revolution chased Batista off the island. Starving Cuban children in Cuba since 1959, and now blacking out even electric power that keeps babies alive must stop. Rubio and his Miami power-base are not the answer. Kindness and compassion are the answer. And we Cuban-Americans for Cuba DEMAND IT."
