Hopefully Not, But Stay Tuned!!
These two headlines this week related to the endless and now surging US-Cuba Conundrum should, I think, be dissected. In essence, together they portended an economic war against the world's two strongest economies and militaries -- the US and China.
Of course, the international media -- such as The Guardian in London -- reflect the view that the endless and now drastically strengthened U. S. Embargo/Blockade on Cuba is "inhumane" and has been so since 1962 and in August of 2021 that cruelty has been exacerbated by the COVID pandemic that is now devastating Cuban families...with the U. S. taking advantage, in the world view, of the situation to finally overthrow Revolutionary Cuba.
That brings us to the top Cuban-related headlines today -- August 5th, 2021. The Newsweek headline reveals that China now wants to take advantage of the Latin American outrage about perceived U. S. genocide against Cuban families during the pandemic. China wants badly to increase its image and power in the region, and it has the economy and military muscle to do it. Saving Cuban families on the island from being starved or dying from COVID as the Trump & Biden administrations drastically tightened the already insanely cruel Embargo into a genocidal Blockade gives ultra-powerful China a chance to emerge as the regional and international hero.
Since January 1 of 1959 -- when the Cuban Revolution shocked the world by chasing the brutally dictatorial U.S.-backed and Mafia-backed Batista leaders to new sanctuaries in Miami and Newark -- only extreme Counter Revolutionary beneficiaries have been allowed to dictate U. S. policies pertaining to the recapture of the Caribbean's largest and most beautiful island. The two U. S. Senators depicted above -- Bob Menendez from Newark/Union City and Marco Rubio from Miami/Little Havana -- have dictated U. S. policies related to Cuba for the PAST FIVE YEARS. In the USA's money-crazed two-party political system, the Republican Rubio dictated blitzing Cuban policies designed to first off continue to greatly empower and enrich Counter Revolutionary Cubans and, secondly, to drastically try to starve Cubans on the island to induce them to overthrow their leaders, which was the purpose of the Embargo when it began way back in 1962. But now during the Biden administration the Democrat Menendez, in 2021, is being allowed to totally dictate the USA's draconian and inhumane Cuban policies.
Thus, in this first week of August-2021 the headline and photo above was no problem for the U. S. media but it alarmed the international media as well as important Latin American leaders such as Lopez Obrador, the President of Mexico who used a speech streamed live worldwide to emotionally call the U. S. blockade of Cuba during the pandemic to be "incredibly inhumane." For Americans who are programmed not to care about U. S. genocide against Cuban families during the pandemic, what the headline and the photo above means is more U. S. Genocide aimed at Cuban families on the vulnerable island. As Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee in the Senate, the headline reveals this week that Menendez easily rammed through the Senate YET ANOTHER BILL that legalizes more suffering for the drastically dire Cuban families that were already suffering terribly from other legal bills largely orchestrated by the Republican Rubio and the Democrat Menendez. Of course, because Cuba, their tar baby and piggybank, is a foreign nation, you should know that is why Rubio & Menendez ALWAYS make sure they are Chairmen of the Senate's Foreign Relations Committee. Of course, the U. S. media gives Rubio & Menendez convenient passes when it comes to their own very serious and chilling backgrounds that in no way inhibit their safe reelections to continuous 6-year terms in the Senate from, of course, Newark/Union City, and, of course, Miami/Little Havana. And of course, that latest bill depicted above to help Newark Cubans and Miami Cubans, while also greatly adding to the suffering of Cuban families on the island, was sponsored by Menendez and co-sponsored...you guessed it...by Rubio!!!
Here is what Newsweek today -- Aug. 5-2021 -- wrote about China now confronting the U. S. on the USA's intransigence against Cuba, namely the suffering and worse that the U. S. is invoking toward the island during the deadly pandemic.
And as above, the Newsweek article today explains correctly that the Biden administration has and is continuing the Trump administration's genocide against Cuba in August of 2021. Mexico, Argentina, and other Latin American nations are alarmed. But, more alarmingly for the U. S., China this week is signaling that it is not only alarmed but is willing to confront the U. S. regarding the USA's inhumane treatment of Cuban families during the pandemic. In other words........
...................will Menendez & Rubio -- the undisputed and unchecked dictators of the USA's Cuban policies -- be allowed to start an economic or military war with China over Cuba? Uh, let' see. China is awash with money, including a trillion dollars that the U. S. admits it owes China. And China has a massive army in numbers but now also is awash in ultra-modern equipment. Could the U. S. win an all-out economic or military war with China? Probably not, but I for one -- with many GREAT-grandkids -- don't want to contemplate it!
One of the great weaknesses of the mainstream U. S. media...and thus of the U. S. itself...is an overall media that most Americans don't trust, as all polls, including Gallup's recent poll, attest. The truth about the USA's relations with Cuba, for example, is a prime testament to the extreme trustworthiness of the U. S. media. The Cuban narrative in the USA, according to the U. S. media, is solely regulated to extreme and self-serving Cuban-Americans -- like Rubio, Menendez, Salazar, Diaz-Balart, etc., etc. The majority of Cuban-Americans surely don't support genocide against Cuban families in Cuba but, if you depend on the U. S. media, you wouldn't know that. And, for damn sure, the opinions of Cuban mothers on the island are never allowed within the confines of the U. S. media. For example, the photo above shows a Cuban mother in Havana today watching her little daughter being treated at a clinic. In the previous 48 hours the nearly 200 deaths from COVID have included a 3-year-old girl and a 12-year-old girl. Yes, great news agencies like London-based Reuters, which has three brilliant and honest journalists reporting regularly from Cuba, and other non-U.S. sources report such things and interview mothers such as Yanet Estevez in Cuba who do, indeed, have opinions about COVID and the blockade. If and when the U. S. media has the guts and the integrity to also concern itself with the opinions of Cubans like Yanet Estevez, the United States and the world will be better places...and, of course, one-year-old girls and 12-year-old girls in Cuba won't keep dying of COVID, a truth that the U. S media will not tell Americans but the same U. S. media will saturate their news about another GENOCIDAL bill that means more GENOCIDE from the U. S. Senate thanks to the unchecked power of the self-serving Bob Menendez and Marco Rubio!!
When the whole world recognizes that the superpower United States is continuing to impose genocide on Cuban families on the island to appease a handful of Cuban-Americans, as a Democracy-loving American the correct LaTuff comment shown above shames me. And I am astonished it doesn't shame more Americans.
