Even Mainstream Media Knows!!
As of today -- May 15, 2020 -- above are the statistics that Cubans are seeing on their TV sets pertaining to the Coronavirus pandemic. The confirmed cases to date are 77,374 with 79 deaths. Contrary to what Americans are told, Cubans on the island believe what their government tells them about COVID-19 and then they discuss the updates on online Social Media sources, which Cubans now are ubiquitously attuned to.
Regularly appearing on television, Dr. Francisco Duran is well-loved by Cubans and they believe what he is telling them daily about the Coronavirus. Each day his extended reports contain long details on the TV screens regarding each new death and even every new confirmed case: "14,913 patients admitted to hospitals for clinical epidemiological observations...2,947 are watched in their homes...10 new cases were Cuban, 3 men and 7 women...among the 10 new cases since yesterday are a 78-year-old man but, as you can see on the screen, today there are also a 10-year-old and a 3-year-old...there have been no additional deaths in the past 24 hours..."
Cubans on the island know Dr. Francisco Duran well and they trust him as he leads them through the COVID-19 crisis. His daily statistics are believed because he extensively details each new death, every new case, etc...and Cubans on Social Media meticulously discuss the deaths and/or cases that they know about personally. Of course, in the U. S. extreme anti-Cuban blogs such as Babalu, right-wing "newspapers" backed by billionaire-dollars such as Breitbart, and even so-called "mainstream" U. S. media such as the Miami Herald blare headlines and articles on a daily basis that try to take advantage of the pandemic to help the Trump administration execute a regime-change in Cuba prior to the presidential election in November. Incredibly, the extreme Little Havana dictation of America's genocidal Cuban policies during every Republican administration skirts around Democracy to blatantly shove anti-Cuban venom down the throats of Americans...even as both nations fight the COVID-19 crisis.
In May of 2020 the U. S. democracy that allows a second generation of vicious, self-serving Little Havana zealots to dictate Cuban policy shames America even more, I think, than it harms Cuba. The brutal SELF-SERVING dictates of Mauricio Claver-Carone, Marco Rubio, and Mario Diaz-Balart during the Trump presidency are from extremists who are in the extreme minority but they are almost totally unchecked. Decent or moderate views simply ARE NOT PERMITTED in the world's strongest but now Little Havana-infested Democracy. From Miami to Newark and, of course, to the U. S. Congress and in all Republican White Houses, it shames America and Democracy that well-known corrupt Little Havana-types are always ubiquitous, but unchecked, even when it comes to even genocidal U. S. policies against masses of Cubans on the island. For example, a massive article in the New York Times this week explains such Cuban corruption that has seeped so deeply into the bowels of the U. S. Democracy!!!
A superstar reporter at the New York Times, Patricia Mazzie, has just penned a major article entitled: "VENEZUELA OIL COMPANY SUES MIAMI EX-CONGRESSMAN OVER $50 MILLION DEAL." Uh, no KIDDING!! The ex-Congressman, not surprisingly, is David Rivera who reached the U. S. Congress in 2011 from Miami as one of the most vicious anti-Cuban zealots in the world. David Rivera didn't last long in Congress and Wikipedia opens its bio of him by reminding us that Rivera was "named one of the most corrupt members of Congress." So Patricia Mazzie of the NY Times this week updates David Rivera as a consultant whose office is in his home and he signs BIG, WEIRD deals, such as a $17 million-a-month deal with a Venezuelan oil company that says Rivera barely provided it in return a few pages of worthless information.
Of course, David Rivera, known as the corrupt anti-Cuban U. S. Congressman from Miami, is also known as the former roommate of Marco Rubio and, not surprisingly, Rivera and Rubio together have been connected with shady dealing as a pair, which is well known in Miami and Washington.
If David Rivera is labeled the "MOST CORRUPT" former Congressman from Miami, where does that leave the current Congressman from Miami, Marco Rubio? Well, it leaves Rubio as a Little Havana totally safe incumbent in the U. S. Senate and as America's Trump-anointed Cuban dictator on U. S. soil.
For sure, Rubio and Rivera are intertwined as being vicious anti-Cuban zealots whose careers have been laced to and primed by zealous anti-Cuban mentors in Miami's lucrative and volatile Little Havana diaspora. While Rivera is no longer in Congress, Rubio is NOT ONLY still in the U. S. Congress but, as anointed by President Trump, Rubio IS America's Cuban dictator on U. S. soil. That is a prime problem for Cuba and its allies but perhaps it is JUST AS MUCH A PROBLEM for the United States and Democracy.
Many top journalists in America consider Ken Silverstein America's best investigative journalist. He earned that sobriquet during his years working for the Los Angeles Times, the Associated Press, Harper's Magazine, etc.
Many believe that Ken Silverstein's best investigative journalism was his massive bio, as depicted above, of Marco Rubio. The long article began with the cogent statement that Rubio is "head and shoulders above everyone else in Washington when it comes to corruption and chicanery." Now please understand that takes in massive territory and, moreover, no one has ever questioned, to my knowledge, Ken Silverstein's findings EVEN THOUGH they minutely detail precise names, events, dates, etc. about Rubio's "corruption and chicanery." Of course, much of the mainstream U. S. media, apparently afraid of Little Havana, project Rubio as a choirboy from Miami and Little Havana.
One of the best independent journalists who reports about Miami is Lauren Kaori Gurley. She is brave and competent enough to write such words as: "Rubio's vision for Latin America promotes the long history of the U. S. meddling in Latin American affairs to assist U. S. hegemony. As essentially the U. S. Cuban dictator under Trump, what comes next from Rubio could be bloody and transformational for the region. How far Rubio is able to push his agenda while Trump remains President might result in costly, bloody, and endless coups not only creating a regime-change in Cuba but also in all of Cuba's Latin America allies -- especially, between now and November's next presidential election, in Venezuela and Nicaragua." Lauren Kaori Gurley wrote a superb article entitled: "Marco Rubio, Trump's Shadow Secretary of State." She points out that Secretary of State Mike Pompeo only puppets Rubio-dictated genocidal Cuban policies. And, of course, most U. S. journalists are not as brave Gurley is when it comes to reporting such facts about Cuba.
In other words, Marco Rubio remains in the U. S. Senate and doubles as Trump's Cuban dictator while his former Little Havana roommate David Rivera was booted out of Congress amid corruption charges but, of course, as a powerful Latin American "consultant" apparently remains in on lucrative and volatile Rubio-obsessed projects -- such as the already bloody regime-change U. S. efforts in Venezuela as a prelude to Rubio's prime priority -- CUBA-CUBA-CUBA!!

The NY Times apparently finds Rivera's apparently shady deal with Venezuela interesting because Rivera's best pal, Rubio, is apparently the top orchestrator of the Trump administration's all-out effort to execute a regime-change in Venezuela...as, uh, Rubio's prelude to his regime-change in Cuba.
When former bitter Republican enemies -- Rubio & TRUMP -- can agree on Rubio taking over as America's brutal Cuban dictator on U. S. soil, it bespeaks of Little Havana's control of the Republican Party. In America's two-party political system, that is perhaps more a problem for America than Cuba, even considering Rubio's genocidal plans for Cubans on the island already taking place with the full cooperation of the U. S. State Department and the entire TRUMP U. S. government.
The present situation may be a laughing matter for Cuban dictator Rubio and American President TRUMP, but it portends genocide for Cubans on the island and a massive insult for the United States of America and for Democracy.
There are many Democracy-lovers in the United States who are aware of the TRUMPIFIED MARCO RUBIO SUBVERTING DEMOCRACY BY USING THE LANGUAGE OF DEMOCRACY TO DO IT.
