Cuba Says It Will "Fight" Rubio and Trump

If they will not negotiate fairly!!

Cuba's targeted President Miguel Diaz-Canel says "We Will Fight back" against what he claims are the "criminal efforts" of U. S. President Donald Trump and his Miami-born Secretary of State Marco Rubio. He said the island will "fight" to defend the Cuban Revolution, which has ruled Cuba for 67 years since it shocked the world by overthrowing the US/Mafia-backed Batista dictatorship on January 1st in 1959. Born in 1960 after the victory by the Revolution, Diaz-Canel has been Cuba's President since 2018 and before that he was the very popular Education Minister on the island.
Although he was born on April 20th in 1960 after the victory by Fidel Castro's Cuban Revolution, Cuba's President Miguel Diaz-Canel worships his two favorite Cuban revolutionaries -- Fidel Castro and Jose Marti. In the specch above, Diaz-Canel recently told about his abiding love for Fidel Castro and Jose Marti.
Today -- on April 7th in 2026 -- Cuba's President Miguel Diaz-Canel wasn't making speeches about Trump or Rubio but, as shown above, he was making a speech about his favorite revolutionaries -- including Vilma Espin, who was born exactly 96 years ago on April 7th in 1930 in Santiago de Cuba. As President since 2018 and as Education Minister before that, Diaz-Canel is smart enought to know that Vilma Espin was one of the Top Four superstars of the Cuban Revolution.
Yes, as Miguel Diaz-Canel knows, the BIG FOUR among the most important people before, during, and after the victory of the Cuban Revolution were -- left to right -- Vilma Espin, Fidel Castro, Raul Castro, and Celia Sanchez. For their own purposes the U. S. government and the U. S. media deny that fact, but Miguel Diaz-Canel and other experts on the Revolution are correct about the BIG FOUR.
Before, During, and After the Revolution two of the greatest guerrilla fighters were Celia Sanchez and Vilma Espin, shown above during the war. But moreover, they were prime decision-makers during the war and even more powerful after the victory on January 1st, 1959. Fidel Castro verily worshipped the ground that Celia Sanchez walked on; and Raul Castro verily worshipped the ground that Vilma Espin walked on.
During the revolutionary war, Vilma Espin and Raul Castro fought side-by-side and after winning the Cuban Revolution in January of 1959 they got married that very month. At age 94 Raul is still alive but Vilma died from cancer at age 77 on June 18th in 2007. While she lived in Revolutionary Cuba Vilma was idolized by Fidel Castro and deeply loved by her husband Raul Castro. Totally supported by the Castro Brothers and most of the Cuban people, Vilma Espin had a major and lasting impact on the decision-making during the war and in Revolutionary Cuba.
One of the first things that Vilma Espin did in Revolutionary Cuba was to create The Federation of Cuban Women. To this day -- April 7th in 2026 -- on what would have been Vilma's 96th birthday -- The Federation of Cuban Women is still cherished in Cuba. If Trump and Rubio overthrow her Cuban Revolution, will her beloved Federation be overthrown too?
During the war, as the above photo shows, Celia Sanchez was a tireless decision-maker even as she held a candle for Fidel Castro to read a Hemingway novel as they were in their nighttime mountain Sierra Maestra camp trying to avoid U.S./Batista bombers and search planes.
And after the war in Revolutionary Cuba this famous Lee Lockwood photo shows the tireless Celia Sanchez writing down a new law while Fidel Castro casually rocks in his rocking chair. And whatever the new law was, it is sure that Fidel would later totally support it, such as the new block-by-block Committees to Defend the Revolution that Celia devised and powerfully defended. Celia Sanchez died at age 59 of cancer on January 11th in 1980.
This month -- in April of 2026 -- Cuba issued a new peso banknote as it is trying to improve and upgrade its financial situation. And, as you can see above, although she died in 1980, the new banknote bears the photo of the incomparable revolutionary heroine Celia Sanchez.
Yes, today -- April 7ith in 2026 -- Cuba's President Miguel Diaz-Canel made two speeches in Havana. One, he said "We will fight back" against Trump and Rubio. And two, he made a long speech honoring the birthday anniversary of one of his favorite revoluionary heroines Vilma Espin.
