At Age 90!!!
Sarah Marsh and Reuters provided the best coverage of Fidel Castro's 90th birthday celebration in Cuba throughout this weekend. She and the London-based news agency provided insightful videos and blow-by-blow accounts of Fidel's surprise, joyful but subdued appearance Saturday -- April 13th, 2016 -- at Havana's Karl Marx Theatre to partake in celebrating his hard-earned 90th birthday. Sarah Marsh wrote, "Cuba went into overdrive honoring the retired El Comandante. Thousands danced to Latin beats atop Havana's curving seafront Malecon boulevard throughout the night Friday to Saturday. At the street party, a live band played 'Happy Birthday' at the stroke of midnight Saturday and fireworks exploded across the bay."
This Reuters photo shows Fidel Castro at the Karl Marx Theatre Saturday on his 90th birthday. He is shown chatting with Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro on his left while his brother, President Raul Castro, sits on his right. The Reuters photos and videos at the Karl Marx Theatre showed a Fidel Castro that is now very frail, weak, and tired. It also appeared that he has lost considerable weight in recent days.

Meanwhile, Sarah Marsh reported that across the island Cubans "painstakingly" installed their favorite photos of a younger and healthier Fidel Castro. One man, crying, said, "He made it to 90. Good for him. His brother Ramon died at the age 91 this year. We don't think Fidel will quite make it, but we pray that he will."
