90 years is a long time
Today is Friday, August 12th, 2016. Tomorrow Fidel Castro celebrates his 90th birthday in Havana, Cuba. He has let it be known that he wants the celebrations to be "minimal or low-key." But the Cuban Institute of Music says it is hosting "a great cantata" to mark the occasion. That means "over 100 children's choirs and bands will sing in unison across the island a very special tribute." Not so minimal and not so low-key for a man who, for better or worse or in-between, has been neither minimal nor low-key for nine decades.
And that's true...
