June 15th during the new 2024 US-Russia Cuban Missile Crisis?

In 1898 the United States easily defeated Spain in the Spanish-America-War in Cuba, making the U. S. the new foreign power dominating Cuba, the Caribbean's largest and most coveted island-nation. In 1903 the U. S. built the U. S. Naval Military Base at Guatanamo Bay on Cuba's eastern tip. Now known as Gitmo, the Cuban Military Base in Cuba also features a controversial prison...although the U. S. already has plenty of federal prisons in the U. S. as well as dozens of ultra-powerful military bases nearby in Florida and in the Caribbean, including in the U. S. Territory of Puerto Rico. Yet, as shown by the above map, the U. S. has had its massive Military Base at Guantanamo Bay taking up 45 acres of plush Cuban soil since 1903!!!
Today -- June 15th in 2024 -- the Cuban-related headlines flashing around the world are very scary with the world's two top nuclear powers -- Russia and the United States -- appearing to square off not so unlike the Cuba Missile Crisis in October of 1962 but this time with 2024 nuclear missiles and not 1962 ones!!
Of course, since the victory by the Cuban Revolution in 1959, Little Havana in Miami and the Miami Herald have promoted anything that might induce the United States to overthrow Revolutionary Cuba. And, for sure, the missile crisis in 1962 and the current missile crisis in Cuba in late June of 2024 were/are prime examples.
You see, Miami is very close to Havana, which now has some Russian nuclear firepower, and Miami is also not very far from Santiago de Cuba, which now has some American nuclear firepower -- especially with competing nuclear submarines now on both ends of the alligator-shaped island of Cuba.

What is known to History as Yellow Journalism relates back to when the two top U. S. newspaper publishers in 1898 -- Pulitzer and Hearst -- launched massive media campaigns to compel the U. S. government to go to WAR in Cuba to replace Spain as the imperative power in Cuba...but they needed to create a pretext for such a WAR. Then, conventiently, the U. S. warship USS Maine blew up with a massive explosion while it was docked in Havana Harbor, killing 261 young U. S. sailors and wounding 102 others. So...Pulitzer and Hearst had their pretext for the easy, short, bloody Spanish-American War in Cuba in 1898. Cuba was the prize but the victory also added other former Spanish pieces such as Puerto Rico to the USA's nascent foreign empire.
Indeed, history remembers the USS Maine.
As planned by the rampant YELLOW JOURNALISM, journalists working for Pulitzer and Hearst were dispatched to Cuba to report that Teddy Roosevelt was the war hero because, in addition to replacing Spain as Cuba's dominant power the plan was to make Teddy Roosevelt the next U. S. President, which also occurred. Now from the concocted Spanish-American War in 1898, please advance to today -- which is June 15th of 2024 -- and study the NEW CUBAN HEADLINES that, eerily, are reminders of both the 1898 Spanish-American War that was so cogently defined by yellow journalism as well as the 1962 Cuban Missile Crisis that remains the closest the world has ever come to a nuclear WAR...but remember that 1962 missiles were not what 2024 missiles are!!! So, Please Note below, what the Associated Press, the USA's top news agency, says about the threat --- not the one in 1962 in Cuba but the one now in late June of 2024!!
As indicated by the photo directly above, everyday Cubans are mere pawns in the war-like relations between the world's two nuclear superpowers -- Russia and the United States. Thus, similar to the everyday Cubans in 1962, this everyday Cuban in June of 2024 would love for some foreign nation to help Cuba as his island is still mired by the remnants of the six-decade-old U. S. EMBARGO that has existed since 1962 and has been recently tightened as food shortages, power blackouts, and other sheer deprivations grip Cuban citizens. This Cuban man said, "I think that Russia could help us a little more, but first it has to end the war with Ukraine." Of course, democracy-loving Americans like myself, who have visited the island, realize that everyday Cubans would prefer help, such as in the form of trade, with the nearby United States, not from faraway Russia, China, or others. But, still, Cubans like this man are not getting much-needed help from anyone...certainly not from the United States.
