Cuban Allies Embargoed Too

Today -- on April 7th-2022 -- the top headlines related to Cuba reveal how the Biden presidency has followed the Trump presidency's massive assault against families on the island to appease a few rich and politically powerful Cubans in Miami and in the U. S. Congress. The articles today by Reuters, the Miami Herald, Bloomberg, and Al Jazeera all refer to the fact that the Rubio/Menendez-dictatation of the USA's Cuban policies during the Trump-to-Biden transition reveals that the USA's two-party political system -- Republican & Democratic -- now both cater only to extremist Little Havana Cubans in Miami who keep getting richer and more powerful in their unchallenged and lucrative efforts to regain control of Havana...as in the pre-Revolution days in the 1950s when the U.S., the Mafia, and Batista ruled and robbed the Caribbean's largest island nation.

Cuba's President Miguel Diaz-Canel repeatedly tells the Cuban people: "We must adjust to the fact that Biden will continue the lucrative genocide that the Trump regime began against Cuban families when he activated the most genocidal aspect of the legal but criminal Helms-Burton Act. Now in March and April of 2022 the unique economic and military power of the United States is using the pandemic, the blockade, the war in Ukraine, and other topical excuses to further starve Cuban families while also funding new methods to entice our young adults to defect to Miami. We, however, must continue to do all we can to make sure that  foreign-backed criminals like Batista and Lansky don't again rule Cuba. Our food production, our energy production, and other necessary aspects of daily life must be improved because now Washington's blockade against us is more-and-more aimed at any nation that seeks the freedom to have commercial ties to Cuba."
President Diaz-Canel has said that Cuba, despite the blockade, must produce more of its food and energy needs or "else the Cubans who dictate Biden's Cuban policies will succeed with their efforts to starve and deprive our children as a means to weaken the sovereign resolves of Cuba's adults." The above headline about U. S. sanctions aimed at Cuba's allies such as "Venezuela" is an example of what Diaz-Canel is having to deal with.
As the Reuters article updates, Cuba is "struggling to recover following the coronavirus pandemic and harsher U. S. sanctions imposed by the administration of former President Donald Trump."
While the worldwide London-based Reuters News Agency is able to report some true facts about Cuba's U.S.-imposed problems, the U. S. media is obligated to primarily provide the American people only with Little Havana's one-sided opinions about what everyday Cubans on the island face from Miami's ultra-rich and ultra-unchallenged Cubans.
A U. S. democracy that has an unending string of only self-serving extremist Counter Revolutionary Cuban-Americans elected to dictate politics in Florida and in Washington resembles the democracy that was in charge of the USA's support of the Batista dictatorship in Cuba in the 1950s. As indicated above, in the U. S. media both the right-wing and left-wing media powers reflect only Little Havana's views of the U.S.-Cuba conundrum. Most Cuban-Americans don't agree with what the U. S. is doing to everyday Cubans on the island but both the U. S. media and the U. S. democracy seem geared to only catering to self-serving extremists like Maria Salazar, who is the latest example to prove that only extremists like her get to be elected in Florida and to the U. S. Congress...and now get to be saturated in the Democratic Biden White House. And only such extremists need apply.
In the USA's two-party political system, Americans should study the four photos directly above. In the past 5+ years only the Republican Marco Rubio or the Democrat Bob Menendez have been the ultra-powerful Chairmen of the Foreign Relations Committee in the United States Senate during both the Trump and Biden presidencies. Not coincidentally, Cuba is a Foreign Country and both Rubio and Menendez are very controversial but totally unchallenged and extremely self-serving Counter Revolutionary extremists who can readily dictate U. S. Cuban policies. Back in the 1950s the American people were told it was nice to have Batista & Luciano in charge of Cuba; and in 2022 Americans are told that it is nice to have Rubio & Menendez in charge of the USA's Cuban policies. Perhaps...it is time for both Miami and Washington to listen to second opinions that actually reflect democracy.
For example, in his classic book HAVANA NOCTURNE T. J. English had second thoughts about "How the Mob Owned Cuba...and Then Lost It to the Revolution." Perhaps, in April of 2022, it is time for all democracy-loving Americans to have second thoughts about the USA's history regarding Cuba, especially about how lucrative the endless attempt to recapture the Caribbean's largest and most beautiful island is for a few very lucky and uncontested people.
For sure, as created by America's Founding Fathers in 1776, DEMOCRACY was the best government ever devised by the minds & hearts of mankind. And it is still the best template!!
Still pretending in April of 2022 that this was DEMOCRACY in Cuba in the 1950s might benefit a select few people in Florida and in Congress, but it continues to shame the experiment that America's Founding Fathers so painstakingly crafted in 1776.
In the backyard of the superpower United States, the island nation of Cuba -- like all other small nations in the Caribbean and elsewhere around the whole world -- deserve not to be exploited and robbed by rich people in much-larger and much-stronger nations.
Rich people in southern Florida making people in Cuba poorer-and-poorer may be politically and socially acceptable in the United States, but that doesn't make it right.
