Cubans Cheer New Biden Overtures

 

     U. S. President Joe Biden has finally started to turn back some of President Donald Trump's draconian Cuban policies.

     Today -- Tuesday, May 17, 2022 -- Reuters, the great News Agency based in London that has a strong bureau in Havana, reports that Cubans are "cheering" Biden's moves.

    As usual, as above Reuters produced the best international coverage of President Biden's easing of some of the Trump-era Cuban policies that strengthened the U. S. Biden Finally Eases Cuban Starvation Tactics??

At Least...a little bit!!

     Make no mistake about it...Cubans on the island still believe that both the Trump and Biden administrations in Washington have tightened the already genocidal six-decade-old U. S. Blockade to appease the Miami Cubans and others who benefit from it economically and politically.

     Today -- Monday, May 16th, 2022 -- above is the start of the massively important announcement from the U. S. State Department heralding: "Biden Administration Measures to Support the Cuban People." Fantastic!! At long last, after 60 years since the Embargo/Blockade began, the United States democracy lists some..."measures to support the Cuban people." WONDERFUL!!! The first promise as shown above is to: "Facilitate family reunification by reinstating the Cuba Family Reunification Parole {CFRP} Program..." Alright, sounds good.

    And above are the U. S. State Departments other promises to Support the Cuban People. Also, they also look GOOD too. And the U. S. State Department, in the last sentence shown above, said: "The Administration is working expeditiously to effectuate these changes, which will be implemented via steps taken and regulatory changes made by relevant Departments and Agencies in short order."

     Above you can see how CNN News described the U. S. State Department's announcement yesterday -- May 16th-2022 -- about easing the long-standing and extremely debilitating U. S. Embargo/Blockade against Cuba. In the second paragraph above, CNN News said: "The US will still prohibit American tourism in Cuba and won't allow individuals to travel there..." Of course, by the 1950s when the U.S.-backed the brutal and thieving Batista-Mafia dictatorship, the U. S. wildly promoted U. S. citizens to visit Cuba and bring along plenty of dollar bills because major U. S. companies shared in the spoils with the Batistianos and the Mafiosi. Therefore, that sentence above means that the Biden administration is not about to severely ease the injustice that the U. S. Embargo/Blockade has created for Cuban families since 1962. As a Democracy-loving American, I and many others are also concerned how much the Embargo/Blockade hurts the United States of America in the eyes of the world.   

    On Monday, May 16th-2022 Cubans on the island went online to read and study the U. S. State Department's four major announcements that concern their lives, and they pored over words like "in short order." Well, as the billboard above states, Cubans on the island have been waiting for over six decades for the end of "THE LONGEST GENOCIDAL BLOCKADE IN HISTORY." Cubans on the island know what the phrase "in short order" means. Now Cubans on the island just wait to see what the U. S. State Department means.

    For the record, this is how the Cuban radio, television, and print media explained the U. S. State Department's announcement about Cuba on Monday, May 16, 2022. Mostly, the Cuban media and the government put a positive spin on it.

Cubans Cry but some Americans Rejoice!!

    Today -- Saturday, May 14th, 2022 -- this Cuban mother in Havana is crying unabashedly, like many other Cubans on the island, after the explosion back on May 6th that has killed at least 45 people at the famed Saratoga Hotel in the heart of Havana.

      But these are the top Cuban-related headlines on May 14th-2022 in the U. S. and England. As you can see the U.S. Yahoo News and the U.K. Daily Mail are headlining about the tears of Jeff Bezos, an American who happens to be the world's richest man and whose father Miguel Bezos was, of course, born in Cuba...and now, like his son, is an ultra-powerful Counter Revolutionary U. S. citizen.

    Jeff Bezos, the adopted son of Cuban-born Miguel Bezos, became the richest person in the whole world thanks to his Amazon gold mine and he has purchased an array of toys that include the iconic media giant Washington Post, now a prime opponent of the Revolutionary Cuba that overthrew the U.S.-backed Batista-Mafia dictatorship on January 1, 1959. As noted above on May 14th, 2022, the Jeff Bezos tears are about Cubans, like his father, who have richly immigrated to the U. S. since 1959.

    But in Cuba today -- May 14, 2022 -- the tears of Ana Maria Mari Machado were being shed for the 45 people who died, with many others critically wounded, by the May 6th explosion that destroyed the famed 5-star Saratoga Hotel in the heart of Havana.    Americans, of course, since 1959 are programmed not to cry about Cubans on the island who are victims of Saratoga-like disasters or disastrous things such as the six-decade-old U. S. Blockade-Embargo against Cuban families.

  Of course, there are billions of unprogrammed non-Americans who do cry about disasters and blockades that Cubans on the island are subjected to. The president of Mexico, Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, was in Havana for two days right after the explosion that destroyed the famous Saratoga Hotel. And for months Lopez Obrador has sharply criticized both the Trump and Biden administrations in Washington for taking "criminal" advantage of the COVID-19 pandemic to further expand the "already criminal and indecent blockade against totally innocent Cubans in Cuba." Next month...in June in Los Angeles...the U. S. will host the Summit of the Americas and President Obrador will not attend because he also thinks it is "criminal" that Cuba and its friends such as Venezuela and Nicaragua will not be allowed to attend. President Obrador, when announcing his reason for not attending the Summit in LA in June, also pointedly said, "To continue its Cuban policies since 1959, the U. S. conveniently lies about its love of the Batista and Mafia rule of Cuba prior to 1959."

      In the United States when ultra-rich individuals like Jeff Bezos and ultra-rich companies like Amazon began to be allowed to routinely buy mainstream media sources such as the Washington Post, Americans and others including Cubans began to suffer. In 2022 the top U. S. polls have revealed that "most Americans don't trust the mainstream U. S. media.". For the world's most famed democracy, that is an incredible development. AND.................................

...............for generations of Cuban families on the island of Cuba, it is particularly cruel.

Americans DON'T KNOW About Havana & Little Havana!!

 Unless THEY KNOW T. J. English!!

      Back in the 1950s...as the great author T. J. ENGLISH has brilliantly documented in three classic books...the U. S. government lavishly supported the brutal, thieving Batista-Lansky dictatorship in Cuba because it allowed rich U. S. businessmen and top U. S. companies to partake in the spoils. Thus, in the 1950s the U. S. had a then secretive "Army of the Americas" located at Fort Benning in Georgia to train Cuban policemen and soldiers and then send them back to Cuba to brutally defend the lucrative Batista-Lansky dictatorship. Of course, back in the 1950s the U. S. wildly promoted tourism to Cuba so the Mob-Mafia and the rich U. S. businessmen and companies could feast on the Cuban riches. Of course, except for a FEW great & brave writers such as T. J. ENGLISH, Americans very conveniently in 2022 still are not supposed to know about...uh...such things.

    And, of course, only from a great writer like T. J. English could Americans know "How the Mob Owned Cuba...and Then Lost It to the Revolution." Therefore -- six+ decades after "the Revolution" booted "the Mob" to Miami and created Little Havana starting in January of 1959 -- in May of 2022 the United States still maintains a brutal six-decade-old Embargo/Blockade designed to block tourism to Cuba and thus starve Cubans on the island and hopefully regain control of the Caribbean's largest nation...after which, of course, tourism and all the other nice U. S. opinions about Cuba will again revolve around massively accumulating tons of dollar bills & tourism!!

     And of course, until Little Havana USA regains control of Cuba, the EMBARGO that was first legalized in 1962 will remain precisely what the Mexican President Lopez Obrador in May of 2022 says is both "indecent and criminal." But of course, Americans that haven't read and studied any of T. J. English's three books simply don't why such things as the EMBARGO are indecent and criminal.

    And of course, all three of the great T. J. English books tell "AN EPIC STORY OF THE CUBAN AMERICAN UNDERWORLD" that reshaped both Cuba and the United States.

43 Now Dead From Saratoga Hotel Disaster

 

    By this morning -- May 11th, 2022 -- the death toll has reached 43 in Friday morning's {May 6th} explosion at the famed Saratoga Hotel in the heart of Havana, a mere block from the capital building. Many vehicles and 96 homes close to the Saratoga were also affected or destroyed.

     Since May 6th rescue workers like these have toiled tirelessly among the ruins of the Saratoga Hotel. The two exhausted young men shown in this AFP-Yamil LAGE photo above were only taking a brief rest-break today.

    The Saratoga Hotel was originally built in the 1930s but, because it was important to tourism in the heart of Havana, it was rebuilt in 2005 as a 5-star hotel. In April and May in 2022 it was being refurbished and scheduled to reopen this week on Tuesday, May 10th. When the explosion occurred on Friday morning, May 6th, most of the 43 deaths were therefore workers.

    As of today -- Wednesday, May 11th-2022 -- three of the 51 workers are still unaccounted for and believed to be buried beneath the debris of the Saratoga Hotel...so the death toll of 43 is expected to keep rising. Dozens of people remain hospitalized and dozens of Cubans have been relocated because their nearby homes were destroyed or affected.

US Loves The Blockade, Hates Cuba Families

 

    This is Andre Manuel Lopez Obrador shown at a news conference today -- May 10th, 2022. He is the President of Mexico, the huge & influential nation on the southern border of the United States. Lopez Obrador is leading the international fight to end the U. S. Embargo/Blockade of Cuba. He calls it: "An abomination and a criminal act that has existed for over six decades. In the last few years, taking advantage of the Pandemic, the Trump and Biden leaderships in Washington have greatly expanded the torment for Cuban families to satisfy a few rich U. S. Cubans. The U. S. media and another generation of Americans are shameful for allowing this to exist."

    Next month -- June of 2022 -- the U. S. in Los Angeles will host the Summit of the Americas. Today -- May 10th, 2022 -- President Lopez Obrador said he will not attend the event if Cuba and two of its friends, Nicaragua and Venezuela, "are excluded." He said: "If a few Cuban enemies in the U. S. can continue, year after year, to dictate the giant U. S. democracy in this criminal way, is the U. S. still the world's most notable democracy? I have my doubts now...and I just returned from Cuba where the Cuban people are reeling from the Blockade, and coping with a massive and deadly explosion in the center of their capital city while, of course, coping with the pandemic and the blockade."

    The President of Mexico, Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, is the bravest leader in the world that has the guts to call out the United States for what he calls" "It's Miami-obsessed Cuban policies that make a few people rich while tormenting every family in the much poorer, much weaker nation of Cuba."

    Cuba's President Miguel Diaz-Canel and Mexico's President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador are friends and they visit each other's capital cities. Lopez Obrador was in Havana for two days this past week as Cubans are being devastated by the deadly explosion that destroyed the famous Saratoga Hotel in the heart of Havana on Friday morning, May 6th, 2022. Back in Mexico City Lopez Obrador said: "It breaks my heart that, in the midst of the blockade and the pandemic, the Cuban people must suffer further because of the explosion that rocked Havana on Friday."

     As of today -- Tuesday, May 10th-2022 -- the death toll in Friday's explosion that demolished the 5-star, 96-room Saratoga Hotel in the heart of Havana is 35. Dozens more are hospitalized, some in critical conditions, as the salvage operations continue. As you can see from the AFP-Yamil Lage photos above, the blast was so powerful it destroyed or ruined vehicles and buildings close to the Saratoga Hotel.

   In May of 2022, as has been the case since 1962, the U. S. EMBARGO of Cuba overshadows all news related to Cuba...and that includes the explosion that destroyed the Saratoga Hotel, the Summit of the Americas in LA in June that the U. S. says Cuba is too mean to attend, etc. Of Course, in reporting such things the U. S. media doesn't have the courage or integrity to mention that, prior to 1959, the U. S. loved the thieving and brutal Batista-Mafia dictatorship that allowed rich Americans to partake in the rape and robbery of the Caribbean's largest and, arguably, its most beautiful island nation.

      Of course, Cuban families since  1959 have different memories of the 1950s than what Americans are told about it. The U.S.-backed and Mafia-backed Batista rule was indeed brutal; and since 1959 it is not true that...all the good Cubans are in Miami and in the U. S. Congress!!

     If you happen to be a Miami Cuban in the U. S. Congress the U. S. media will allow you 24-hours-a-day coverage to tout the virtues of pre-1959 Cuba while defaming everything about post-1959 Cuba.

    But in May of 2022 if you happen to be this Cuban who has lived all of her life in Guantanamo, Cuba, the U. S. media pretends that you don't have opinions about U.S.-Cuban relations. But in fact, she has very important opinions on such things as the Blockade and she often expresses them on both Social Media and Cuba's Media.

   This well-educated Cuban mother was born and still lives in Guantanamo, Cuba. She has pertinent opinions about such things as...the massive U. S. Military Base at Guantanamo Bay, the Embargo, and other important things.

   On Sunday, May 8th-2022 these two Guantanamo-born mothers {above} celebrated Mother's Day in their hometown with other Cubans in Guantanamo, Cuba. Both of them have lived all their lives as victims of the U. S. embargo, which began in 1962, and all their lives they have lived with the knowledge that the U. S. Military Base at Guantanamo Bay has been an unwanted blemish to Cuba since 1903. Maybe...one day...the U. S. media will permit these two mothers to give their thoughts about...such things.

    Uh...I mean...if two ultra-decent mothers who happen to be mother & daughter have lived all their lives in the Cuban town of Guatanamo, Cuba, shouldn't they be allowed to have opinions about massive things that have affected them all their lives...such as the ultra-foreign Embargo or the unwanted ultra-foreign U. S. Military Base next to their town? Uh...JUST ASKING!!!

    Indeed...on May 10-2022 the President of Mexico, ANDRES MANUEL LOPEZ OBRADOR loudly continued his fervent campaign to make the United States end "the indecent and criminal blockade of Cuba." As shown above, he maintains that Cubans in Cuba, not just Cubans in Miami, should be allowed to have opinions about "indecent things a foreign power is doing to their families."
