Cuba Negotiates With Rubio!!

 But...Rubio holds the cards.

Cuba's President Miguel Diaz-Canel indeed is negotiating with U. S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio's team. In this first week of June of 2026 he is, for example, promising to allow ordinary Cubans to "invest in and help administer 15 of Cuba's 34 hotels that the government controls." The two Spanish hotel giants, Melia and Iberostar, have had over forty 4-star and 5-star hotels on the island but tourism, massively sanctioned/embargoed by the United States, has for decades restricted visitors -- much unlike like it was in the 1950s, prior to the 1959 Cuban Revolution, when the United States and its prime companies wildly promoted tourism to Cuba during the Batista dictatorship. Now faced with a military attack/regime change on his island by the United States, President Diaz-Canel even promises the U. S. that, like in the days of Batista long ago, U. S. intersts will now be allowed to invest in Cuba's hotels and other businesses that the U. S now says are only run by the Cuba's military leaders.
Of course, since 1959 Cuban-Americans in Miami/Little Havana -- such as current U. S Congressional members Jimenez, Salazar, and Diaz-Balart shown above -- have dictated the extreme hardline U. S. Cuban policies since 1959.
If there is a military option that creates the regime change in Cuban, the above generals -- Roberto Legra and Francis L. Donovan -- will be prime competitors. General Legra leads Cuba's defense forces while General Donovan heads the U. S. Southern Command forces. In fact, a few days ago these two men met face-to-face just outside the U. S. Military Base that has, to Cuba's chagrin, been based on Cuba's Guantanamo Bay since 1903. It is assumed that Donovan warned Legra that Cuban resistence would be useless. After all, the U. S. has massive superpower military assets at nearby military bases at Guantanamo in, all over Florida, Puerto Rico, and even in and beneath the Caribbean Sea where the U. S. has a huge aircraft carrier atop the water and lethal submarines lurking under the water.
U. S. General Francis L. Donovan at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.
Prime Cuban expert and author Helen Yaffe -- a notable Professor at the University of Glaskow in the UK, and many others have increased their support for Cubans on the island in 2026. But they are over-powered by later generations of Miami Cubans reared by Cubans who flocked to Miami following the victorious anti-Batista Cuban Revolution in 1959. Now that Miami's Marco Rubio is the ultra-powerful U. S. Secretary of State, Revolutionary Cuba is surely doomed...with the only question when, not if. The when apparently arrives after Rubio and the U. S. exit some of its Iran War priorities in the faraway Middle East.
As U. S. Secretary of State, Marco Rubio -- who was born in Miami 55 years ago to Cuban-American parents who fled Revolutionary Cuba c -- incessantly repeats that the U. S. economic EMBARGO/Blockade of Cuba, which started way back in 1962, has had no affect on the fact that Cubans in Cuba are facing food shortages, medical shortages, constant deprivations, island-wide energy blackouts, etc. Rubio, as shown above, loudly claims that all of Cuba's devastating economic problems are because of its corrupt and incompetent Revolutionary leaders.
Secretary of State Marco Rubio also repeatedly states that Cuba "poses a national security threat to the United States." Not many people around the world believe that but Rubio says that the American people do or will believe it. That belief, of course, supposedly justifies the impending regime change in Cuba.
Cuba is blessed with some of the world's best tourist attractions, such as Varadero Beach that is just a few miles south of Key West, Florida. But since 1962 in Revolutionary Cuba the U. S. EMBARGO/Blockade has drastically restricted foreign visitors to Cuba, including to incomparable attractions such as Varadero.
But GUESS what? Back in the 1950s during the brutal Batista dictatorship ads like the one above wildly saturated the United States promoting tourism to Varadero and other top Cuban attractions. That was when Batista, the Mafia, and major U. S. companies and businessmen were making fortunes because of vast tourism that flocked to Cuba!! It is presumed that, with Miami Cubans again in control of Cuba, tourism and other business will return to Cuba, and it is hoped ordinary Cubans on the island will also benefit.
The last living icon from Cuba's 1959 victory in the Cuban Revolution, Raul Castro, celebrated his 95th BIRTHDAY on June 3rd, 2026. {His brother Fidel died in Havana in 2016 at age 90}. But also during this first week of June in 2026 the U. S. overshadowed that major Raul Castro birthday in Cuba by indicting Raul Castro for four deaths of Miami Cuban-Americans that took place during a controversial Miami-Havana confrontation in the  Caribbean Sea thirty years ago,
Now Marco Rubio, Miami's ultra-powerful hero, is busy explaining why Raul Castro must finally face "justice" in a Miami {or some other U. S.} courtroom. Also, as shown above, Rubio is being asked: "How do you intend to get Raul Castro to U. S. after the historic indictmen." Many journalists consider that a good question for Marco Rubio.
Meanwhile, today on June 6th in 2026 the London-based Reuters News Agency reports that Raul Castro headlined an event in Havana today.
Now 95 years old, Raul Castro!!
