It seems that since January of 1959 -- when the Cuban Revolution shocked the world by overthrowing the US/Mafia-backed Batista dictatorship -- Little Havana in nearby Miami-USA has essentially dictated U. S. policies regarding Cuba...including the 1961 Bay of Pigs military attack, the 1962 till 2024 U. S. Embargo/Blockade of Cuba, etc. And now in February of 2024 that situation seemingly continues unabated.
Above today -- on February 6th of 2024 -- you can see the major Cuban Headlines that are flashing around the U. S. and the world TODAY!! Note that the AP, the USA's top News Agency, headlines about the drastic results of the depleted Cuban economy. Reuters, the vast London-based News Agency, today reports from inside Cuba about how the government and people are coping with the drastic turmoils related to the island's devastated economy. And The Hill, a powerful political media source in Washington, reports on the consequences of the USA's endless ultra-powerful actions against Cuba that have existed since...well, since January of 1959 when Cuba overthrew the U.S.-backed and tourist-beloved and money-crazed Batista dictatorship. And, of course, the Headline shown at the bottom above is from the Miami Herald that only loves Miami's Little Havana and hates post-revolutionary Havana.
Today -- on February 6th of 2024 -- the Miami Herald as always reports on the greatness of Miami's Little Havana and the deplorable nature of Havana. The massive new two-sentence Headline in the Miami Herald from Nora Gamez Torres refers to the latest extreme Counter Revolutionary member of the U. S. Congress from Miami-Little Havana -- Maria Elvira Salazar.
Since Janiuary of 2021, Maria Elvira Salazar has represented Miami in the U. S. Congress. She was born 62-years-ago in Miami and was educated at the University of Miami and Harvard University. In the U. S. Congress she followed in the footsteps of other Little Havana/Miami politicians that have made to Congress -- such as, shown above, Havana-born Lincoln Diaz-Balart, whose father was a key Minister in the Batista dictatorship, as well as Florida-born Mario Diaz-Balart, Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, Marco Rubio, Carlos Gimenez, etc., etc. In other words, any moderate politician regarding Cuba will never be elected to serve in Washington.
As shown above, before she made it to the U. S. Congress from Miami, Maria Salazar was, for a couple of decades, a powerful TV News Anchor in Miami and in that capacity she had famous interviews with notables such as Fidel Castro and Luis Posada Carriles, and to this day in 2024 those Salazar interviews with Castro and Posada are still easily accessed on YouTube for the world to see. Castro, of course, needs no introduction but Luis Possada Carriles, along with Orlando Bosch, are historically remembered as the two most famous and infamous U. S. and Little Havana Counter Revolutionary Cubans...eternal heroes to Miami and villians to Havana.
Now as a member of the U. S. Congress, Little Havana's Maria Elvira Salazar can use her television expertise on National TV U. S. News Shows to endlessly promote Little Havana's massive views regarding Havana, and -- of course -- those views are routinely never disputed.
But in Maria Elvira Salazar's backyard in Miami the Miami New Times -- as shown above -- reported about Salazar far differently than she was/is depicted by the Miami Herald and the national U. S. media. Enlarge and read the Miami New Times reports about Salazar shown above.
And, meanwhile, the two images directly above reflect reality in Cuba today on February 6th-2024. That reality today includes, for sure, the U. S. Embargo/Blockade that has tried to destroy Cuba's economy for the past 62 Years, and another natural FLOOD on a street in Havana TODAY. In that vein, as shown below, the sophisticated Cuban Television News Shows are mainly focusing on the weather on February 6th-2024.
And, in other words, on February 6th of 2024 -- as usual -- the News from Little Havana USA in Miami and from Cubavision Television in Havana are vastly different enterprises and objectives.
And so...the fascinating Miami-Havana Soap Opera resembling As The World Turns continues on-and-on in FEBRUARY of 2024...AND NOBODY knows when it will end. {And that includes Little Havana's Maria Elvira Salazar}.
