Tourists Sites Reopening!!
This week an 84-year-old resident of Havana died from the Coronavirus to push the overall total of fallecidos {deaths} in Cuba to 85 as of today, June 21st, 2020, as shown above. But since May weeks have gone by without new fatalities and the total of confirmed positive cases have noticeably declined too.
This week Cuba has begun opening up tourism in areas such as the Jardines del Rey archipelago, shown above, in the central province of Ciego del Avila that also includes the popular Coco and Guillermo keys. Yet, the important closely monitored provinces of Havana and Matanzas are still not considered able to reach the sufficient criteria for fully joining the recovery process.
While struggling against COVID-19 since March of 2020, Cuba has also been battling twin perils -- COVID-19 and the six-decade-old United States Embargo.
But the Little Havana-aligned Trump administration in Washington has allowed extreme self-serving Counter Revolutionary zealots such as Mauricio Claver-Carone, Marco Rubio, Mario Diaz-Balart, and Bob Menendez to elevate the U. S. Embargo into precisely what the billboard above proclaims -- a genocidal, starvation-motivated Blockade. In fact...Claver-Carone, Rubio, Diaz-Balart, Menendez, and vicious sycophants such as Rick Scott have taken advantage of the Coronavirus pandemic to impose ever-expanding genocidal provisions and laws designed to starve and deprive masses of Cubans on the island to induce them to revolt against their Revolutionary government for the purpose of allowing the Little Havana rulers in Miami, Newark, and the Congress to regain control of the island, as in the Batista-Mafia days that ruled the island in the 1950's.
In June of 2020 it does not matter if the rest of America and the rest of the whole world believes that the United States of America should not be involved in Genocide against masses of totally innocent Cubans on the island. Whenever a Republican president occupies the White House in Washington, a handful of Little Havana zealots can legally and majestically commit genocide against Cubans on the island...with no restraints from a Democracy that supposedly permits input from the majority of Americans and Cuban-Americans.
Unfortunately, in June of 2020 with a Republican president in Washington, America's CUBA POLICY includes genocide...and, with THAT POLICY emanating from the world's economic and military Superpower, there appears that there is nothing the rest of America and the world {meaning the part that resides out of Little Havana} can do about it.
In my opinion, when a Republican president can routinely turn over CUBA POLICY to a couple of Little Havana zealots, it insults America's democracy even more than it insults the totally innocent Cubans on the island, and that is because there appear to be enough tenacious everyday people on the island willing to resist it while America now appears to lack the courage to confront it. The photo above -- Diaz-Balart, Rubio, and Trump -- shows that diabolical agreement BEING SEALED, and no democracy should allow it to take hold. Therefore, I believe, this photo chronicles a Day of Infamy for both America and Democracy.
