Surviving COVID-19 & U. S. Blockade!!!
Carnival Cruise Lines has announced that it "is ready to resume its trips to Cuba, depending on the new policies on the island and the change of administrations from Trump-to-Biden in the White House."
The CEO of Carnival Corporation, Arnold Donald, like many powerful business leaders in Miami and elsewhere in the USA, has longed for an opportunity to do business with Cuba. He told ON Cuba News, which has offices in both Miami and Havana and is a fair-minded and unbiased source of US-Cuba news, "We'll see what happens with the incoming administration." In other words, after the Joe Biden presidency in Washington has replaced the virulently anti-Cuban presidency of Donald Trump, Arnold Donald hopes his powerful cruise company can resume cruises to the nearby Caribbean island.
Back in 2016 in the last year of the Obama presidency when Obama was normalizing relations with Cuba, Carnival's boss Arnold Donald proudly sent his Adonia cruise ship to Havana. As shown above, Cubans welcomed the arrival of the Adonia in Havana Harbor while Obama was the U. S. President.
The head of Carnival Corporation, Arnold Donald, is not a lone wolf. He and most business executives from Miami to New Orleans to New York to Los Angeles would like the freedom to trade with Cuba -- the Caribbean's largest, most populated, and arguably its most beautiful and most appealing island nation. Mr. Arnold, in announcing his eagerness to send his cruise ships back to Cuba, said, "In our great American democracy, the leaders of our nation's top corporations should be allowed to do business with other nations unless there is a viable reason not to. And there is no viable reason that should stop us from doing business with Cuba, the nearby island nation that we and many Cuban-Americans want to have sane, decent relations with. Yes, as we were in 2016 when Obama was President, my company, Carnival, was eager to cruise people to Cuba then...and we are eager to do the same thing if the new Biden administration in Washington, and the health conditions, allow us to do so."
Of course, most Cuban-Americans want decent relations with Cuba, especially businessmen like Manny Almira who runs the nearby Port of Palm Beach in Florida. Manny would love to do business and trade "to and from Cuba to help us on U. S. soil and to help Cuban families on the island a few miles away. Why in the hell is that simple relationship not permitted?"
An ultra-powerful Cuban-American in Miami is Frank Del Rio, the ultra-rich leader of Norwegian Cruise Line. Yes, it is headquartered in Miami, not in Norway. Back in 2016 when President Barack Obama normalized relations with Cuba as much as he possibly could, Frank Del Rio actually cried when he was allowed to finally cruise one of his ships and its passengers to Cuba. Frank's tears gushed out when, at the front of his ship, the Port of Havana came into his sight.
In the United States of America decent and powerful Cuban-American businessmen, like most of the other two million+ Cuban-Americans in the Miami area, don't have much say-so when it comes to the U. S. having decent relations with Cuba. That includes, as you can see above, Frank J. Del Rio, the CEO of the Miami-based Norwegian Cruise Line that longs to do business with Cuba.
And that is because a handful of self-serving and not-so-decent Cuban-Americans such as Senator Marco Rubio, and a handful of others from Little Havana in the heart of Miami and in the heart of the U. S. Congress in Washington, dictate the U.S. Cuban piggybank and diaspora to suit themselves. Study the Rubio quote above and, if you are not afraid of Little Havana's propaganda, you will hopefully still have enough freedom to label it a blatant lie. When Rubio talks about a "BETTER DEAL FOR CUBA" he is only talking about a BETTER DEAL for himself and for others like him who for decades have been making lucrative and unchecked deals, both politically and financially, for themselves on the backs of masses of innocent Cubans on the island. To prove that point, I could list any of a million photographic examples, but permit me to list the photo and graphic below to make my point about Rubio.
In 2016 near the end of Barack Obama's 8 years as President of the United States, the decent Obama had become the only President since the 1950s to have the guts and the decency to consider innocent Cubans on the island as opposed to helping rich Americans partake in the lucrative Mafiosi rape and robbery of Cuba. So, because of President Obama young Cuban mothers like those shown above were allowed to become entrepreneurs on the island, and soon they were opening thriving businesses because, if the U. S. would permit, Cuba would become a tourism jewel. But by 2017 when the Democrat Obama had been replaced by another Republican President, Donald Trump, Rubio...Little Havana's prime spokesman in the U. S. Congress...had been anointed Cuban dictator by Trump. Rubio immediately began dictating lucrative laws and appointments to benefit Little Havana while brutalizing and trying to starve Cubans on the island. Incredibly, Rubio's hometown newspaper, the Miami Herald, allowed four of the young entrepreneurial Cuban mothers to write a major and scathing article denouncing Rubio's genocide, and they used the opportunity to {correctly} accuse Rubio of trying to starve their young children by trying to stop the businesses they had started thanks to President Obama. Please Americans, take time and look above to read what these four Cuban mothers told Rubio: "We have repeatedly requested meetings with Senator Marco Rubio and his staff to share our knowledge and firsthand experiences...unfortunately, like administration officials, he has ignored our requests to meet."
Meanwhile, his office itself regularly releases photos like the one above showing Senator Marco Rubio "meeting with Cuban dissidents." With massive concern with Little Havana Cubans and no concern for Havana Cubans, Rubio is able to use the power and wealth of the U. S. government to support/fund dissidents while trying to deprive, starve, and make miserable families in Cuba for the purpose of getting Cubans on the island to rise up and overthrow their Revolutionary government. While Americans are not supposed to admit it, "depriving, starving, and making miserable" were, according to declassified U. S. documents, the exact three reasons the U. S. government gave in 1962 to impose the economic Embargo against Cuba...after multiple assassinations and assassination attempts, massive terrorist attacks, and the 1961 Bay of Pigs military attack failed to recapture Cuba. Of course, now into the Year 2021, Rubio is convinced that he can do whatever he chooses to help dissidents overthrow the Revolutionary Cuban Government while, of course, engaging in what many observers consider to be genocide against Cuban families on the island. For sure, the four young Cuban entrepreneurial mothers -- Nueris Higueras, Yamina Vicenta, Julia de la Rosa, and Maria Recio -- are more decent, smarter, and better educated than the Little Havana-born & reared Rubio but Rubio is the one supported by the world's strongest and richest nation as well as by the cowardice of three successive generations of Americans who have been programmed to support or accept the U.S.-backed Batista rule in Havana in the 1950's that has been followed by the Batistiano rule in Little Havana since 1959. Rubio, of course, was spawned by the most extremist Counter Revolutionists in Little Havana and in the U. S. Congress -- led by Havana-born Ileana Ros-Lehtinen and Havana-born Lincoln Diaz-Balart and his little brother Mario. Ros-Lehtinen & the Diaz-Balart brothers have, between them, served SIX DECADES in the U. S. CONGRESS. The Diaz-Balart brothers' father was a powerful Minister in Cuba's Batista dictatorship before fleeing the Cuban Revolution in January-1959 and quickly forming his Counter Revolutionary forces in Miami, which spawned Little Havana as well as spawning generational and congressional zealots in Miami like Rubio. Extreme Counter Revolutionary Cubans totally ruled Miami and created Little Havana beginning in 1959 but, as the first photo in the montage below shows, Little Havana's indelible grip on Washington began in 1989 when the self-serving Bush dynasty put Havana-born Ileana Ros-Lehtinen in the U. S. Congress for three decades, followed by the Diaz-Balart brothers, Rubio, etc.
