In these last days of January in 2024 notice above that the top Opinion Writer at the ultra-powerful Wall Street Journal, Mary Anastasia O'Grady, appears to think that the world's superpower, the United States, should maintain as its top priority the starvation, deprivation, and misery of the Cubans in Cuba while maintaining the six-decade-old enrichment and empowerment of counter revolutionary Cubans in Miami and in Washington. It was 1962 when the U. S., stressing those two priorities, imposed an economic Embargo/Blockade against Cuba for the purpose of starving, depriving, and making miserable the Cubans in Cuba to induce them to rise up and overthrow the Cuban Revolution, which in 1959 had the audacity to overthrow the U.S./Mafia-backed Batista. In late January of 2024 Revolutionary Cuba is celebrating its 65th Year of the Cuban Revolution although all legitimate observers are now well aware that the endless U. S. Embargo/Blockade is, indeed, now drastically starving, depriving, and making miserable the Cubans in Cuba to please the rich and politically powerful Cubans in Miami and Washington. IN THE PAST FIVE YEARS the Trump and Biden administrations in Washington have vastly strengenthed the endless Embargo/Blockade against Cuba by putting Cuba on the U.S.'s very short List of Nations That Sponsor Terrorism...which the mainstream U. S. media has championed for six decades although it hasn't overthrown Cuba's rebel government but it surely has starved, deprived, and made miserable three generations of everyday Cubans.
As shown above...in the last days of January of 2024...Mary Anastasia O'Grady and The Wall Street Journal loudly support keeping the Cubans in Cuba on the Terrorism List, which vastly tightens the starvation purposes of the U. S. Embargo/Blockade.
While the U. S. Embargo, for the 62nd Year, continues to starve, deprive, and make miserable Cubans in Cuba, Mary O'Grady can sit on her rich and exalted throne at The Wall Street Journal and lavishly pound the wonderful reasons why the U. S. needs to keep the Embargo and should continue it into a 7th Decade; and also, of course, the U. S. should keep Cuba on the Trump-Biden List of Nations That Sponsor Terrorism. Below are the three questions I would like to ask MARY O'GRADY:
{1} "Ms. O'Grady, the polls as well as the nations at the UN not only strongly oppose the U. S. blockade of Cuba and oppose the U. S. designation of Cuba as a Terrroist Nation, but the whole world also seems asshamed of such policies. According to declassified U. S. documents, the purpose of the Embargo in 1962 was to starve, deprive, and make miserable the Cubans in Cuba to make them rise up and overthrow their government. Some 62 years later, in 2024, the prime purpose for the Embargo has not materialized but starving, depriving, and making miserable the Cuban people has continued FOR six decades, reaching a peak after Trump and now Biden both put Cuba on the List of Nations That Sponsor Terrorism. On the Editorial Page of the U.S.'s top newspaper, here at the end of January in 2024 you, Ms. O'Grady, still support a superpower nation starving, depriving, and making miserable the ordinary people in a neighboring and much smaller nation. WHY?"
{2} "Ms. O'Grady, if your reasoning is that the poor Cubans in Cuba are bad and the Cubans in Miami are good, please explain that to your readers because it seems that the rest of the world disagrees with any rich and powerful nation starving, depriving, and making miserable the poor people in a much-weaker nation. Instead of endlessly raging about the need for the Embargo and for starving Cubans in Cuba, why can't you convince me and 8 billion or so other people that your Editorials are both right and correct?
{3} "Ms. O'Grady, you seem always to imply that the Embargo is necessary to starve, deprive, and make miserable the bad leaders of Cuba while you try to imply that you are trying to help the everyday Cubans on the vulnerable island. If that is your position, Ms. O'Grady, then you have helped to starve, deprive, and make miserable three generations of innocent Cubans in Cuba since 1962, AND IF THAT IS NOT SO then can you should explain to your readers WHY THAT IT IS NOT SO?
In other words, Ms. O'Grady, in your next Editorial in The Wall Street Journal, I believe there are millions of starving, deprived, and miseable Cubans in Cuba that would like for people like you to explain to them why you believe so firmly that they should be starved, deprived, and made miserable so it will please a few ultra-important and rich people that want to continue it. "WHY CUBA BELONGS ON THE TERROR LIST." You claim, Ms. O'Grady, that it is because "Havana has alliances with Russia, China, and Iran..." Ms. O'Grady, three generations of everyday Cubans have been starved, deprived, and made miserable by the nearby United States...not by Russia, China, Iran or any other faraway nation. For sure, Ms. O'Grady, you have never been starved, deprived, or made miserable, so perhaps you have no concept of how it feels to live in a tiny nation where people are at the mercy of politicians and journalists in a huge foreign nation that craft policies to negatively dictate their lives. Therefore, Ms. O'Grady, your Editorials seem geared to pleasing a few rich people in a superpower nation that support starving, depriving, and making miserable masses of people in a much-smaller nation. IN YOUR NEXT EDITORIAL, please address that issue!!
And, Ms. O'Grady, study the photo shown above that was taken today in Cuba and posted on Social Media outlets by a respected photojournalist named Victor Toledo. The Cuban woman and man in this photo today, Ms. O'Grady, are neither Terrorist nor Threats to the United States!! And Mr. Toledo was not using this photo to make a statement but merely to show a moment today on January 24th of 2024 depicting a moment in the lives of ordinary Cubans in embargoed Cuba.
