January 28th Is Jose Marti's Birthday

Today is January 28th in 2024. On January 28th in 1853, as shown above, Jose Marti was born in Havana. He soon became an international celebrity in the United States and around the world as an author and poet. But he returned to Cuba to fight in the War of Independence against the long-time brutal Spanish dictatorship. He was killed in the Battle of Rio Cauto on May 19th, 1895. From that day till today in Cuba, the memories of Jose Marti are cherished and celebrated even though he didn't live to ever see Cuba emerge from foreign dominance.
Since his death in 1895 until today in 2024, quotations of Jose Marti, such as the two shown above, are very important to Cubans that still love him dearly.
While Jose Marti died fighting in 1895 againsst the Spanish dictatorsship in Cuba, Fidel Castro on January 1st in 1959 shocked the world by defeating the US/Mafia/Batista dictatorship in Cuba. Incredibly, although Fidel Castro died at age 90 in Havana in 2016, his Revolution still rules Cuba all these decades later!! Yet, the dichotomy...the history...of these two men are vastly different: Jose Marti is loved and cherished in Cuba, the United States, and around the world!! But Fidel Castro, while he is still cherished by most Cubans in Cuba, he is massively reviled and hated in the United States and in the parts of world deeply influenced by the United States power and media. Yet...today -- on January 28th of 2024 as the birthday of Jose Marti is being wildly celebrated in Cuba, as the dual photo shown above indicates, in Cuba the island's two greatest Independence Fighters are both almost equally revered and loved.
Today is January 28th of 2024 and Jose Marti was born on January 28th of 1853. It is a BIRTHDAY that will always be cherished in Cuba.

Three Questions for Mary O'Grady, please??

{1}Why Should Cubans in Cuba be Starved??

The above banner is flashing all over Cuba and the Caribbean on January 24th of 2024: "Latin Press. To the service of the Truth." It is heralding the fact that the Cuban Revolution has existed for the past 65 ASTOUNDING Years, or since it shocked the world by overthrowing the Batista dictatorship in January of 1959 when the powerful Batista was supported by the most powerful nation in the world, the United States, and by the most powerful criminal organization in the world, the Mafia. Over 65 Years later, by lasting for over six decades, the longevity of the Cuban Revolution's rule of Cuba has been even more ASTOUNDING THAN BEATING DICTATOR BATISTA!!

Many people believe that the NY Times, Washington Post and others are the top newspapers in the United States but The Wall Street Journal is by far the most read U. S. newspaper, with many more subscribers and readers than any other U. S. newspaper. But like the MIami Herald, the NY Times, the Washington Post, NBC News, etc., The Wall Street Journal features high-profile anti-Cuban journalists that routinely defame Revolutionary Cuba and predict its demise on a daily basis. In The Wall Street Journal the anti-Cuban zealot happens to be top Editorialist Mary O'Grady. For example, in these closing days of January-2024, please take note of Mary O'Grady's latest Counter Revolutionary/anti-Cuban diatribe in The Wall Street Journal as referenced below.
In these last days of January in 2024 notice above that the top Opinion Writer at the ultra-powerful Wall Street Journal, Mary Anastasia O'Grady, appears to think that the world's superpower, the United States, should maintain as its top priority the starvation, deprivation, and misery of the Cubans in Cuba while maintaining the six-decade-old enrichment and empowerment of counter revolutionary Cubans in Miami and in Washington. It was 1962 when the U. S., stressing those two priorities, imposed an economic Embargo/Blockade against Cuba for the purpose of starving, depriving, and making miserable the Cubans in Cuba to induce them to rise up and overthrow the Cuban Revolution, which in 1959 had the audacity to overthrow the U.S./Mafia-backed Batista. In late January of 2024 Revolutionary Cuba is celebrating its 65th Year of the Cuban Revolution although all legitimate observers are now well aware that the endless U. S. Embargo/Blockade is, indeed, now drastically starving, depriving, and making miserable the Cubans in Cuba to please the rich and politically powerful Cubans in Miami and Washington. IN THE PAST FIVE YEARS the Trump and Biden administrations in Washington have vastly strengenthed the endless Embargo/Blockade against Cuba by putting Cuba on the U.S.'s very short List of Nations That Sponsor Terrorism...which the mainstream U. S. media has championed for six decades although it hasn't overthrown Cuba's rebel government but it surely has starved, deprived, and made miserable three generations of everyday Cubans.
As shown above...in the last days of January of 2024...Mary Anastasia O'Grady and The Wall Street Journal loudly support keeping the Cubans in Cuba on the Terrorism List, which vastly tightens the starvation purposes of the U. S. Embargo/Blockade
While the U. S. Embargo, for the 62nd Year, continues to starve, deprive, and make miserable Cubans in Cuba, Mary O'Grady can sit on her rich and exalted throne at The Wall Street Journal and lavishly pound the wonderful reasons why the U. S. needs to keep the Embargo and should continue it into a 7th Decade; and also, of course, the U. S. should keep Cuba on the Trump-Biden List of Nations That Sponsor Terrorism. Below are the three questions I would like to ask MARY O'GRADY:
{1} "Ms. O'Grady, the polls as well as the nations at the UN not only strongly oppose the U. S. blockade of Cuba and oppose the U. S. designation of Cuba as a Terrroist Nation, but the whole world also seems asshamed of such policies. According to declassified U. S. documents, the purpose of the Embargo in 1962 was to starve, deprive, and make miserable the Cubans in Cuba to make them rise up and overthrow their government. Some 62 years later, in 2024, the prime purpose for the Embargo has not materialized but starving, depriving, and making miserable the Cuban people has continued FOR six decades, reaching a peak after Trump and now Biden both put Cuba on the List of Nations That Sponsor Terrorism. On the Editorial Page of the U.S.'s top newspaper, here at the end of January in 2024 you, Ms. O'Grady, still support a superpower nation starving, depriving, and making miserable the ordinary people in a neighboring and much smaller nation. WHY?"
{2} "Ms. O'Grady, if your reasoning is that the poor Cubans in Cuba are bad and the Cubans in Miami are good, please explain that to your readers because it seems that the rest of the world disagrees with any rich and powerful nation starving, depriving, and making miserable the poor people in a much-weaker nation. Instead of endlessly raging about the need for the Embargo and for starving Cubans in Cuba, why can't you convince me and 8 billion or so other people that your Editorials are both right and correct?
{3} "Ms. O'Grady, you seem always to imply that the Embargo is necessary to starve, deprive, and make miserable the bad leaders of Cuba while you try to imply that you are trying to help the everyday Cubans on the vulnerable island. If that is your position, Ms. O'Grady, then you have helped to starve, deprive, and make miserable three generations of innocent Cubans in Cuba since 1962, AND IF THAT IS NOT SO then can you should explain to your readers WHY THAT IT IS NOT SO?
In other words, Ms. O'Grady, in your next Editorial in The Wall Street Journal, I believe there are millions of starving, deprived, and miseable Cubans in Cuba that would like for people like you to explain to them why you believe so firmly that they should be starved, deprived, and made miserable so it will please a few ultra-important and rich people that want to continue it. "WHY CUBA BELONGS ON THE TERROR LIST." You claim, Ms. O'Grady, that it is because "Havana has alliances with Russia, China, and Iran..." Ms. O'Grady, three generations of everyday Cubans have been starved, deprived, and made miserable by the nearby United States...not by Russia, China, Iran or any other faraway nation. For sure, Ms. O'Grady, you have never been starved, deprived, or made miserable, so perhaps you have no concept of how it feels to live in a tiny nation where people are at the mercy of politicians and journalists in a huge foreign nation that craft policies to negatively dictate their lives. Therefore, Ms. O'Grady, your Editorials seem geared to pleasing a few rich people in a superpower nation that support starving, depriving, and making miserable masses of people in a much-smaller nation. IN YOUR NEXT EDITORIAL, please address that issue!!
And, Ms. O'Grady, study the photo shown above that was taken today in Cuba and posted on Social Media outlets by a respected photojournalist named Victor Toledo. The Cuban woman and man in this photo today, Ms. O'Grady, are neither Terrorist nor Threats to the United States!! And Mr. Toledo was not using this photo to make a statement but merely to show a moment today on January 24th of 2024 depicting a moment in the lives of ordinary Cubans in embargoed Cuba.

A Powerful Cuban Lady!!!

For sure, Ana Maria Mari Machado is a Cuban Vice President but, well beyond that, she is one of the island's top decision-makers on a day-to-day basis. While Americans are not suppossed to know that, a major article today -- on January 22nd, 2024 -- by the London-based Reuters News Agency again informed the world of that fact.
This article flashing around the world today -- January 22nd, 2024 -- by Reuters indicates that Ana Maria Mari Machado is the key official in Cuba that will decide what becomes of a petition to free all of the anti-Cuban protesters that were arrested in July of 2021. {Note the Reuters article above}.
When it comes to major decisions in Cuba, Ana Maria Mari Machado is often the person that makes the final judgment...and she will decide the outcome of the petition asking for the release of the remaining July-2021 protestors. She has already released many of them but she has also firmly denied pardons for those that she determined were funded and/or otherwise persuaded to act on behalf of foreign entities.
Another rising and important voice and decision-maker in Cuba is Yamislay Matos who is well-known as "Yami" to her fellow Cubans. In the interview above with Yami in the influential Venceremos Media, her increasing significance is heralded as both "fundamental and sublime too!" Despite all their problems related to the powerful and endless U. S. economic blockade, most Cubans rely on young and well-educated journalists such as Yami because, as she explains it, "We live with or among the Cuban people and share their problems and hopes. A lot of that pertains to the blockade. My friends in America tell me they mostly don't believe what the U. S. media tells them, but we are not so stupid as to lie to the people in Cuba that actually share their daily lives with us." So, uh...Yami in Cuba expects Cubans in Cuba to believe what she tells them.  {Surely an interesting concept for a journalist}.

21.1.24

On January 21st-2024 Cuba Wins Again vs. Embargo

Today is Sunday, January 21, 2024 and this is the month that Cuba is celebrating the 65th anniversary of the Cuban Revolution's victory over the US/Mafia-backed Batista dictatorship in Cuba. And this is also the month in 2024 that almost the entire world opposes the 62 years in which the superpower United States has imposed a drastic economic Embargo/Blockade against the nearby nation of Cuba. Today the poster above promotes a huge protest against that Embargo/Blockade.

The notable Cuban-born professsor from Seattle, Carlos Lazo, is one of the prime speakers at today's anti-Embargo/Blockade protest on January 21st, 2024. He believes: "Most Cuban-Americans, most Americans overall, and most people all around the world strongly oppose the strangulation being caused by the six-decade-old U. S. blockade of Cuba. Only a handful of politically powerful and rich Miami citizens support it, but the U. S. democracy is internationally shamed by it."

20.1.24

US Alone Tries to Starve Cuba!!

After six decades, the Outrage Rages On!!

In this troubled new year of 2024 the United States is faced with drastic problems on its almost 2,000-mile southern border with Mexico as millions of migrants -- far too many to be vetted and processed properly -- are streaming into the United States. The Biden administration recently sent top officials to Mexico City to ask President Obrador for help in dealing with the crisis and, as shown above, he said he would be more inclined to help if the U. S. would "eliminate its EMBARGO on Cuba."
While Americans for decades have been programmed not to be embarrassed BY THIS internationally renowned image of the drastic U. S. Embargo/Blockade of Cuba, which was legalized by the U. S. in 1962 and, incredibly, has been tightened in the past five years by the Trump & Biden administrations in Washington!! While Americans are propagandized not to be ashamed about it, the rest of the world is indeed ashamed of it, and that includes Mexico's President Obrador.
The red line shown above shows that the USA's soouthern border with Mexico runs from the Pacific Ocean to the Gulf of Mexico, which means it borders the Caribbean Sea and that Means Cuba, as this map shows. The incomparable land border is 1,954 miles long. Among other things, Mexico is the top trading partner of the United States and the daily traffic across the Rio Grande River is unique and incomparable by any worldwide standard. It is also evident that U. S. laws related to little Cuba involve U. S. relations with Mexico and other nations.
With 2024 being a vital presidntial re-election year for Democrat Biden against his bitter and hated rival Trump, the dire problems for the U. S. on its vast southern border with Mexico will continue to come more-and-more into focus...as will be the endless and brutal U. S. relations with little Cuba that involve crucial international relations with other nations -- such as Mexico.
A 62-year-old citizen of Cuba that has lived all of his/her life in Cuba has done so under the yoke of the U. S. Blockade...and they, of course, beg for "the elimination of the Blockade." Wellit appears, so do the other nations all around the world.

18.1.24

Will US Media Ever Say Anything Positive About Revolutionary Cuba?

PROBABLY not!!

In these now clossing days of January in 2024 -- as has been the case since January of 1959 when the Cuban Revolution overthrew the US/Mafia-backed Batista DictatorSHIP -- the mainstream U. S. Media has touted the Batista dictatorship because it allowed rich U. S. companies to partake in the wholesale robbery of Cuba...while the U. S. media for the past 65 years has demanded the overthrow of Revolutionary Cuba. In that milieu...the U. S. media is not about to report on Cuban positives such as the UN vote each year that shames and denounces U. S. policies against Cuba that almost the entire world considers harsh and even genocidal...especially in the past four years since the Trump & Biden administrations in Washington have tightened the six-decade-old USA's Embargo/Blockade against Cuba by designating the vulnerable island "A Sponsor of Terrorism" that particularly targets Cuban families while, as always, enriching and empowering Miami Cubans and Cubans in the U. S. Congress. But in late January of 2024 the worldwide non-U. S. Cuban headlines, as shown above, reveal that the non-U.S. media have the freedom to report positive articles regarding Cuba...such as the massive article above from Italy.
And so, I suppose, Americans are not supposed to read or see the above updated article that shows the rich Western nation of Italy needed some "Oxygen" for its ailing health system in 2024 so it seeked help from Cuba's highly regarded health system that is routinely and unfairly demeaned by the U. S. media and by the U. S. government. Thus...the massive article above in late January of 2024 is circling around the world at the behest of less biased sources -- such as Polistena and The Guardian that actually report fairly from Italy on a Cuban positive.
Therefore it is important to know, for example, that Dr. Asbel Diaz Fonseca is one of the 500 highly trained Cuban medical experts that Italy feels it needs to help the medical needs of the Italian people. And the caption above even has the freedom to reveal that Dr. Diaz Fonseca says, "There is no obligation for us to do this. We are here because we want to be." For decades countries from Africa to Italy to Mexico, etc., have tried to improve their health system by using Cubans, and meanwhile the U. S. media reports that it is human trafficking by the Cuban government so it can rake in money while paying the foreign Cuban medical experts a few pennies or pesos. Above and below you can see the more honest appraisal in late January of 2024 comes from honest media sources in Italy and England, including {below} reporting on why Italy feels it needs to have so many Cuban medical workers: "To remedy the problem, Calabria's regional government called on Cuba, famous worldwide for dispatching medical brigades to assist with saving lives, most often during times of humanitarian calamity." For sure, such a positive and honest paragraph about Cuba would never come from the U. S. media, but Americans should be permitted to see it nevertheless.
Instead of asking the U. S. media or the U. S. goverment why Italy, in late January of 2024, needs "500 health workers from Cuba" Americans would need to ask the British or the Italian governments and media for that answer.
Above is 38-year-old Dr. Asbel Diaz Fonseca and one of his colleagues working in Polistena, Italy. They are two of the 500 Cubans needed to help Italy's health system in January of 2024. As a Democracy-loving American, I believe the U. S. media should report fairly about such things -- not just having well-known, well-paid, and wildly anti-Cuban "journalists" primed only to report negatives about Cuba. Yes, since 1959 Revolutionary Cuba, in stark contrast to Batista's Cuba that preceded it, has provided free medical treatment for life and free educations through college for its citizens. For decades, even very poor and embargoed Cuba had maintained a health system that trains foreign medical students for free and then sends back to those poor areas to practice as doctors...and that to this DAY includes DOZENS of United States medical students. Perhaps the U. S. media might report that too, but don't count on it. Yet on YouTube the world can easily find many video reports on U. S. students studying for free at Cuba's famed ELAM Medical School, such as this report:

14.1.24

Africa Ramps Up Its Assault on US "Apartheid" vs. Cuba!!

According to the United Nations, there are 195  nations in the world and 193 are UN members and there are two observer members -- the Holy See and Palestine. In near unanimity, the UN vote each year loudly condemns the U. S. Embargo/Blockade of Cuba. But the Continent of Africa, which includes a whopping 54 nations, is always the most vociferously vocal in denouncing the United States and its drastic Cuban policies, which Africa considers to be "self-serving, genocidal, and unending simply because the United States has the military and financial power to maintain a Cuban policy that the rest of the world condemns."
Today is January 14th of 2024 and the USA's drastic economic Embargo/Blockade of Cuba is now into its 62nd Year because it began in 1962. Tomorrow -- on January 15th of 2024 -- South Africa, as shown by the poster above, will host the 7th Africa-Cuba Solidarity Conference. One of this year's themes is: "We are not strong enough or rich enough to stop U. S. apartheid and genocide against Cuban families, but we continue to be brave enough to condemn it." As shown above...the poster promoting the conference features a photo of South Africa's civil rights icon Nelson Mandela with his dearest friend Fidel Castro, Cuba's revolutionary icon that Mandela credited with providing South Africa {and now 53 other Africa nations} with sovereignty as opposed to the foregin-powered apartheid rule that had gripped the continent for many decades, including the 27 years Mandela spent in a South Africa prison where his cell had a bucket for a toilet. Mandela said he emerged from that cell and became the democratic President of South Africa because of his dearest friend Fidel Castro.
Famously, Nelson Mandela and his best friend Fidel Castro co-authored a book to explain how foreign-ruled Apartheid in South Africa changed to a voting-ruled Democracy, all thanks to...Fidel Castro. The Africa-Cuba Confernece that starts tomorrow -- January 15th of 2024 -- in Johannesburg tries to remind the world of the Mandela-Castro alliance that changed the world and the African continent.
The YouTube video above recounts the Mandela-Castro alliance.
As a Civil Rights icon and Nobel Prize winner, Nelson Mandela was elected President of South Africa in 1994 and served proudly till 1999. He died at age 95 in 2013. In 1990 Mandela made an 8-city tour in the United States where he was euphorically hailed, everywhere except in Miami. By then Miami had a Ciuban-born Mayor and, in fact, today -- in mid-January of 2024 -- it is no coincidence that the current Mayor of Miami is the son of Miami's Mayor in 1990. Above is the interesting Front Page of the Miami Herald on June 29th of 1990 that reported on Nelson Mandela's visit to Miami: "Grass-roots welcome counters official snub." Yes, most of the people in Miami loved Nelson Mandela but the Cuban leaders of Miami, of course, rudely "snubbed" the African icon.
The eternal friendship of Nelson Mandela, who died in Johannesburg at age 95 in 2013, and Fidel Castro, who died at age 90 in Havana in 2016, remains a pertinent fact in history...and even the Miami Herald should report such facts in January of 2024.
Thus this week -- from January 15th till January 17th of 2024 -- the poster above heralds the fact that South Africa will try to remind the world that the vast African Continent's support of Cuba includes its unanimous and fierce denouncement of the United States policy against Cuban families.
The U. S. Blockade of Cuba has existed since 1962 and the U. S. OCCUPATION of Guantanamo has existed since 1903. Like the rest of the world, the 54 African nations want both of those factors to end.
