Cubans Face Hunger as US Embargo Tightens in August of 2023

The largest and most respected Advocacy Group for Human Rights in the Americas is WOLA, which means "The Washington Office on Latin America." To its credit, WOLA is focused on letting the world know that the U. S. economic Embargo/Blockade, which has existed since 1962, is both "Illegal and inhumane" for what it has done and is DOING to succeeding generations of Cubans on the nearby island of Cuba. WOLA is particularly upset that President Donald Trump, at the end of his 4-year term put Cuba on its List of Nations that Sponsor Terror, something Trump did to appease the rich and politically powerful Counter Revolutionary Cubans in Miami and Washington. And today -- now into AUGUST of 2023 -- WOLA is deeply concerned that the Joe Biden presidency has, to the surprise of many, KEPT CUBA ON THE TERROR LIST, which permits Counter Revolutionary Cubans in the U. S. to greatly expand the already extremely cruel Embargo/Blockade of the island. For the record, below is what WOLA says on its worldwide website about the Terror List...and about President Biden following President Trump's decision to put Cuba on the List, which further starves and deprives Cubans on the island to appeace a few rich and politically powerful Cubans who thrive in the U. S.:
The last sentence in the first paragraph above by WOLA says: "The Biden administration should make good on its promise to remove Cuba from the list as the human cost of the designation becomes clearer." The yearly vote in the UN, and all other unbiased sources, reveal that all nations in the whole world, except sometimes a couple of small nations dependent on the U. S., agree with the statement above by WOLA, the world's top advocate "For Advancing Human Rights in the Americas." But, meanwhile, Americans are programmed to agree that those who profit from hurting Cubans in Cuba are the Good Guys, as you can ascertain by heeding the Headline/Photo below on this first weekend of August, 2023.
As shown above as reported this first week in August of 2023 by the Courior Journal, Kentucky's largest newspaper, the heart of Louisville is the latest U. S. city to try to look like Little Havana in Miami. The superb "Havana Night" Club & Cabaret is about to open in downtown Louisville. While much money is being made in the U. S. tied to the historic and topical intrigue of Havana and the nearby island of Cuba, the U. S. media, including the Courior Journal, focuses on the USA's financial interest in Havana and Cuba -- and certainly not on such things as the cruel U. S. Embargo against Cuba that has existed since 1962, and certainly not on the USA's historic love of Havana and Cuba back in the 1950s, prior to the Revolution, when Havana and Cuba were being raped & robbed at will by the Batistianos, the Mafia, and top U. S. companies. So in August of 2023 the U. S. media is not about to tell the truth about U.S.-Cuban Relations, just about how much U. S. businesses are still profiting on the legendary historic and topical intrigue attached merely to the names of..."Havana" and "Cuba."
Virtually since the triumph of the Cuban Revolution in January of 1959, Little Havana/Miami-Florida has replicated Batista's pre-revolutionary Havana and Cuba. But so have other U. S. cities such as Louisville, New Orleans, LA, NY, etc. Meanwhile, Americans have been educated to support the the USA's cruel Embargo/Blockade that has existed since 1962 for the purpose of starving, depriving, and making miserable the Cubans in Cuba to induce them to rise up and overthrow their revolutionary government. That hasn't happened but, in this first week of August in 2023, the expanded U. S. Embargo/Blockade appears finally to be working, at least according to London-based Reuters, the world's best News Agency that has a top-notch news bureau that actually reports truthfully from Cuba, whether the news is good or bad.
In this first week of August in 2023 the Reuters article shown above, written by great journalists Nelson Acosta and Marc Frank, informed the world that the six-decade-old U. S. economic Embargo/Blockade seems finally to be bringing Cuba to its financial knees, thanks to the expanded sanctions unleashed by the Trump presidency and kept in place by the Biden presidency.
Above the Reuters journalists in Cuba -- Nelson Acosta and Marc Frank -- started off August-2023 by reporting that Cuba's top economic expert, Alejandro Gil, has told the Cuban people that now "there is no quick fix to the economy."
Back in July-2023, last month, Cuba's Economic Minister Alejandro Gil had told the Cuban people on TV and Cuban officials in Parliament that "...any hope we had that Biden would ease the disastrous Trump expansion of the Blockade is now over. Once Trump put Cuba on the List of Terrorist Sponoring Nations, the U. S. efforts to starve and deprive the Cuban people was expanded, and Biden has kept the Trump law in place." By keeping Cuba on the U. S. list of Nations that Sponsor Terror, the U. S. is better able to compel other nations to comply with its starvation/deprivation-fueled economic Embargo of Cuba.
But in the month of August-2023, as you savor the U. S. media reporting about the wonderful and lucrative aspects of the U. S. Embargo/Blockade of Cuba as far as U. S. entrepreneurs are concerned, please note what WOLA says about it.
