Little Havana's WAR on Havana

Bullies Punishing Cubans!!
Interestingly, one of the best ways to keep tabs on what's happening in Cuba is to depend on Hatzel Vela's regular updates from the island that are regularly sent back to WPLG-TV 10, the ABC affiliate in Miami, OF ALL PLACES. And, yes, his reports are fair and balanced, which is quite unusual and brave in the USA even outside of Miami when the topic is Cuba.
Unrestricted in covering Cuba for the best television station in Miami, Hatzel Vela is an important American journalist in the Era of Trump in Washington. Trump is perfectly willing to commit genocide against Cubans on the island in exchange for placating, appeasing, and enriching a handful of rich zealots in Miami who promise to deliver him Florida's massive 29 electoral votes heading into his 2020 re-election effort. Therefore Trump...even more than the 3 Bush dynasty administrations...has provided a handful of Little Havana's most extremists Counter Revolutionaries all the tools necessary to recapture Cuba, beginning with new USA sanctions designed to starve Cubans on the island and destroy their electricity grid to create massive blackouts. Of course, Trump is fully aware that the extremist Cubans in Little Havana, first and foremost, seek massive amounts of tax dollars from their unholy alliance with the Republican Party. So, to reap massive new avenues to rake in incredible amounts of U. S. tax dollars for Little Havana, Trump has allowed increased U. S. Treasury, USAID, and State Department rules to enrich Cuban extremists, a Trump policy readily backed by Cuban-dominated venues such the powerful U. S. Southern District Court system, Radio-TV Marti {now lavishing in tax dollars with Marco Rubio's old mentor Tomas Regalado the new leader}, etc., etc. In that milieu, Hatzel Vela's excellent reports from Cuba are especially topical and important.
Shown above, Hatzel Vela reported back to TV-10 in Miami when Hurricane Irma devastated Cuba. He is now reporting honestly back to Miami on how the Trump administration's recent activation of Title 3 of the Helms-Burton Act is tormenting everyday Cubans. Even the George W. Bush two-term presidency considered Title 3 too extremely cruel and outrageous to activate, but Little Havana's Little Marco Rubio persuaded Trump to activate it. Thus, while Rubio's pals in Little Havana rake in every additional tax dollar Cuban-American lawyers can think of, Cubans on the island are facing both a food shortage and electricity blackouts thanks to Title 3's extreme and unchecked cruelty.
Americans and Cuban-Americans are not supposed to know about or care about the pain Helms-Burton Title 3 creates for totally innocent Cuban children on the island, but at least Hatzel Vela has both the guts and the journalistic integrity to inform the Miami viewers who watch the ABC-TV 10 WPLG television station. Having reported on the starvation-intended Title 3 food shortages, Vela this week described the electricity blackouts courtesy of Title 3. He reported: "Power shortages in the towns of Cienfuegos, Mariel and Nuevitas had problems in their systems. The western province of Pinar del Rio lost power between 1:25 A. M. and 6:30 A. M. in the heat of the day. Matanzas, Villa Clara, and Camaguey also lost power..." Most Cuban-Americans in Miami who watch such reports on their best television station are ashamed, but the few Cuban-Americans in Miami who revel in such reports still hold the upperhand, and that is especially true anytime there is a Republican U. S. President. But congratulations to Hatzel Vela for being a brave and decent journalist reporting back to Miami from the targeted island.
Of course, the best American journalist reporting on Cuban issues remains Tracey Eaton, the most knowledgeable American regarding U.S.-Cuban issues. Now a journalism professor in Florida, Tracey still regularly pens the most definitive articles about Cuba based on two insightful methods: {1} Regular visits to the island to observe the pulses and rhythms of everyday Cubans; and {2} frequent and penetrating usage of the Freedom of Information Act to emphatically report down to the last penny the incredible numbers of programs and the startling amount of tax dollars now being used by the Trump administration to both enrich Miami Cubans but to also support starvation-blackout genocidal assaults on the Cuban people. Americans who do not know Tracey Eaton also have no idea about how their tax dollars as well as their reputations are being used by a Batistiano-infused U. S. government to enrich certain Cuban-Americans while, secondarily, also severely punishing innocent Cubans on the island.
America's biggest news organizations -- such as NBC-TV News, USA Today, etc. -- regularly utilize Tracey Eaton's unique expertise related to Cuba but the easiest way to make sure you get his vital information is to dial up his blog CUBA MONEY PROJECT.com. There you will find his Freedom of Information statistics along with his unsurpassed knowledge of U.S.-Cuba relations. And, yes, you will be astounded about this blog's unbiased and unassailable down-to-the-penny updates on U. S. tax dollars courtesy of Rubio & Trump being poured into the pockets and bank accounts of already rich Miami Cubans while also being used to lavishly fund genocidal targeting of totally innocent Cubans on the island. If you care about America and Democracy, you should at least be brave enough and concerned enough to dial up CUBA MONEY PROJECT.com.
In a long and brilliant journalist career on his way to becoming America's greatest expert on U.S.-Cuban relations, as far as I know no one has ever accused Tracey Eaton of being biased. This week on his Facebook page, he refers to some of his updated articles that delineate the astounding amount of tax dollars being used by the Trump administration to enrich politically powerful U. S. Cubans and to, SECONDARILY, support genocidal programs against Cubans on the island. On his Facebook page this week, Tracey Eaton wrote these words: "The U. S. government spends millions of dollars to try to destroy the Cuban economy, then more money to say the place is all screwed up. It's just a peculiar, circular kind of self-fulfilling policy." EVERY AMERICAN should care enough about their country and their democracy to actually MEMORIZE those two Tracey Eaton sentences written just this week. Yes, to memorize them may take some courage and a little time...but for America's sake it would be worth it, I believe.
The photo below, courtesy of Wikipedia, shows another influential expert on U.S.-Cuban relations. Carlos LaTuff is a brilliant Editorial Cartoonist with a worldwide forum.
Below is how Carlos Latuff views the USA's blaming of Cuba for keeping Venezuela's embattled President Nicolas Maduro in power while the USA has fought since January to replace him with its presidential choice, Juan Guaido. To spite Cuba by pulling the rug out from under Maduro, Carlos Latuff seems to believe that the USA's imperial designs covet both Venezuelan oil and the recapture of Cuba.
The USA's influence throughout Latin America got a HUGE BOOST when pro-Trump, extreme right-winger Jair Bolsonaro became President of Brazil, which is by far the largest and richest Latin American nation. Prior to the right-wing tilt in Brazil, that nation had four consecutive extremely pro-Cuban Presidential elections of Lula da Silva and Dilma Rousseff, but now the right-wingers have imprisoned Lula and impeached Rousseff to make way for pro-Trump right-winger Bolsonaro who is fiercely anti-Cuba. Below is how the brilliant Carlos Latuff depicts what has happened in Brazil...with President Trump savoring the aroma ignited by the work of his famed right-winger Steve Bannon in that most important Latin American nation, now fiercely anti-Cuba like Trump.

Of course, while Tracey Eaton writes the most definitive  and most respected words about U.S.-Cuban relations, the most definitive and most respected worldwide image of the USA's designs on Cuba has been crafted by Brazil's renowned Editorial Cartoonist Carlos LaTuff. And, I believe, it is a sad commentary on the U. S. democracy that Americans are not supposed to be embarrassed by Mr. LaTuff's searingly accurate portrait of America's incessant greed concerning the island that has actually somehow remained an independent nation since January of 1959. The internationally famed Carlos LaTuff image of the U. S. embargo of Cuba is below.
In October of 2016, a decent United States President named Barack Obama and the rest of the entire world voted 191-to-0 in the United Nations to condemn the U. S. embargo of Cuba that has existed since 1962 as by far history's longest and cruelest economic embargo ever imposed by a powerful nation against a much-weaker nation. But still, this latest generation of Americans has neither the courage nor the intelligence...nor the patriotism...to even openly express embarrassment about President Obama's and the world's unanimous condemnation of the embargo against Cuba, and thus it has been allowed for six decades to shame America and Democracy in the eyes of the world. At least, to his everlasting credit, President Obama tried his best to correct this ongoing abomination that America's renowned Democracy seems incapable of correcting.
