Miami Says It Allows a Trickle of Tourism to Cuba?

Today is Valentines Day, February 14th-2024 in both Miami and nearby Havana. Today, incredibly, the Miami Herald suggests that the rich and powerful Little Havana Cubans in Miami want to ease the U.S. Embargo/Blockade of Cuba enough to allow a trickle of tourism to some of Cuba's many tourist spots. As shown above, tourist-obsessed Miami is home and headquarters to the world's top cruise lines, even the one named Norwegian Cruise Line. But also, as you can see above, the cruise ships leaving Miami make sure to bypass Cuba on their way to any or all of the other top tourist spots in other nations.
Today in Cuba -- on Valentine's Day, February 14th-2024 -- Cubans, as shown above, are thinking about Jose Marti poems such as "A Day of Lovc and Friendship."
I am not sure what Cubans are thinking about "Miami firms" exporting things to Cuba!! An amazing headline from the Miami Herald and Nora Gamez Torres in mid-February of 2024!! W0W!! The U. S. Embargo/Blockade of Cuba HAS EXISTED SINCE 1962,  largely driven by Miami's Cubans, and it has been designed to starve Cuba of tourist money, export/import money, etc. -- and in the past five years the Embargo/Blockade, largely because of Miami's Cubans, has been strengenthened since both the Trump and Biden administrations have put Cuba on the drastic Sponsors of Terrorism List. So, yes, the headline shown above is surprising...and hard to believe.
In this new year of 2024 the vulnerable island-nation of Cuba is massively battling the newly strengthened U. S Embargo, which began over six decades ago in 1962 and, in the past five years, has been tightened by both the Trump & Biden administrationss. The Embargo's blocking of normal tourism to Cuba blunts the island's massive tourist lures, which include some of the World's Best Beaches, including Varadero that has been rated & voted as the World's Best Beach." Located on Cuba's northern coast just a few miles from the ultra-rich tourist mecca of Florida, how many tourists would fly to Varadero instead of Florida if there was not a U. S. Embargo that blocks most tourists from going to Cuba????
For sure, the island nation of Cuba has some of the most positive tourism lures in the world -- including some of the best Beaches in the world, historic spots in cities such as Havana and Santiago de Cuba, friendly and welcoming people, etc., etc...not to mention some of the world's best Hiking, Snorkeling, and Biking trials.
Cuba also indeed has a large fleet of modern Japanese buses that are ready to take tourists to the most favorite sites in both urban and rural areas around the island.
The two international Hotel & Resort Giants based in Spain -- Melia and Iberostar -- have a total of 53 4-star and 5-star Hotels and Resorts around Cuba...and, incredibly, they are still building more. Above is the new Cadena Melia Hotel that now is being built in the beautiful and historic colonial city of Trinidad.
Above are two photos of the 5-star Varadero Hotel & Resort operated by both Spanish and Cuban workers. Despite the tight screws against tourism by the U. S. Embargo/Blockade, both Iberostar and Melia -- the two Spanish world-renowned Hotels & Resorts giants -- remain extremely bullish on tourism to Cuba.
This Casey Strong photo shows a typical scene tourists might see in Cuba if the U. S. permitted normal tourism to Cuba. This little Cuban girl is smiling cutely at Casey's tourist-friendly camera as her mother feeds pigeons.

Cuba-US Relations in February-2024

During the roaring 1950s when the Batista-Mafia dictators ruled Cuba, the Caribbean's largest and most beautiful island nation had fantastically GOOD RELATIONS with the United States. With wild kick-backs to Dictator Batista, the top U. S. companies partook in the spoils that included extremely lucrative tourism, gambling, drugs, and prostitution amidst the Big Businesses in Cuba. But on January 1st of 1959 the Cuban Revolution, which was wildly supported by the non-Batistiano-Cubans, overthrew the Batista dictatorship. Thus from January 1st of 1959 until today, which is February 10th of 2024, US-CUBA RELATIONS have been war-like, including the U. S. Bay of Pigs Military Attack on Cuba in 1961 and the still-devastating U.S. Embargo/Blockade of Cuba that began in 1962 and continues over 62 Years later. And so...as the Headlines shown below attest...on February 10th of 2024 the state of US-CUBA RELATIONS remains war-like...largely backed by rich and powerful Cubans in Miami and in Washington.
The Top Cuban Headlines shown above are flashing around the U. S. and the world from the Miami Herald; WFLA in Miami & Tampa; CNN; and the Wall Street Journal today on February 10th in 2024. From January of 1959 till February 10th of 2024 the U. S. media has promoted the greatness and goodness of Cubans in Miami while promoting the badness and degradations of the Cuban leaders in Cuba.
As an example of the Cuban headlines on February 10th of 2024, the Miami Herald/Nora Gamez Torres wants Americans and the world to know this: "Biden administration refutes Cuba's claim that the U.S. 'supports' Miami 'terrorists.'"
Beyond Cuban headlines from sources such as Nora Gamez Torres/Miami Herald, etc. there also should be headlines about news items such as the bombing of the civilian Cubana Flight 455 airplane in which on board died, or more recently when 32 high-powered rifle bullets blasted the occupied Cuban Embassy building in Washington, Molotov cocktails fiery blasted into the Embassy building in Washington, etc.
And, moreover, since 1962 Democracy-loving Americans like me and nations all around the whole World believe that the U. S. EMBARGO of Cuba shames the United States of America. Yet it has continued for over six decades while the U. S. media routinely suggests it is to hurt/overthrow only the bad leaders of Cuba while suggesting, of course, that it is meant to HELP the masses OF EVERYDAY innocent Cubans on the blockaded island. Really? Should Nora Gamez Torres and the Miami Herald one day ask EVERYDAY CUBANS WHAT THEY THINK OF THE EMBARGO??
Regardless of whatever political problems exist between the United States and Cuba in February of 2024, the continuing and endless warlike situations between the two neighbors harshly harms 11 million Cubans in Cuba and, in the eyes of most people around the world, shames 330 million Americans. Perhaps...Nora Gamez Torres, the Miami Herald, and the rest of the mainstream U. S. media should address the US-CUBA RELATIONS fairly and evenly, and not just from the prism of a few people in a HUGE NATION that want to continue an endless EMBARGO/BLOCKADE against masses of people in a MUCH SMALLER NATION.

Little Havana Dictates U. S. Cuban Policy

 From Both Miami & Washington!!

It was January 1st of 1959 when the Cuban Revolution overthrew the U.S./Mafia-backed Batista dictatorship. Batista, who had close ties to Miami, fled to Dictator Trujillo's Dominican Republic but many of his cohorts, including Ministers, quickly became powerful political operatives in Miami. Soon...Little Havana USA in the heart of Miami emerged as a dominant political forces in Miami first and then in all of Florida and then in Washington. Although such basic facts are routinely denied, it will very hard to deny in February of 2024 that Little Havana USA politicians in Miami and in Washington for decades have dictated the USA's Cuban policies.
And, therefore, in February of 2024 the three very important historic images shown above are still factually true but routinely denied and totally distorted, especially by the mainstream U. S. media. For example...:
The Wall Street Journal is by the largest and most read newspaper in the U. S., much larger than the NY Times, Washington Post, etc. But all of them have vicious and full-time journalists that routinely on a daily basis wildly defame Cuba and wildly promote the wonders of Little Havana USA. The wild and vicious WSJ Headline and Sub-Headline shown above is a flagrant example of typical U. S. media reporting on Cuba this first week in February of 2024...as the WSJ, on a massively important News Day in the U. S., wildly demeans Cuba with its claims about "apologists" for Revolutionary Cuba's alleged and rampant terrorism...but not mentioning vast real terrorism against Cuba.
For example, the historic photo above is one that "apologists" for Little Havana USA, such as the Wall Street Journal, will never mention correctly. The photo above documents the day a Cuban mother and sister were at the Havana airport awaiting the return of their teenage son and brother from a Central American Sports Event. But the airplane -- known to history as Cubana Flight 455 -- was bombed into the ocean by a terrorist bomb, killing all on board including a couple of teenage athletes. Declasssified U. S. documents, as well as Google searches, readlily reveal the culprits/terrorists and other details related to the fate of Cubana Flight 455 but, of course, only in Cuba it seems are US-Cuba observers supposed to feel sorry for mothers and sisters at the very moment they learned that their son and brother had just been violently killed. But this photo, and others like it, forever freeze the facial expressions of that sister and mother at that fateful moment in time.
In 2024 -- the 65th Year of Revolutionary Cuba -- many Cubans, Americans, and people around the world believe that US-Cuban Relations, both for history and topicality reasons, should be reported fairly. And that includes, I believe, that in February of 2024 that the six images depicted below should be reported fairly.

In February of 2024 the six images shown directly above reflect a prime result of Little Havana USA's dictation of the U. S. policies related to Cuba. Since 1962, 62 years ago, the U. S. has maintained the economic Embargo/Blockade against Cuba that, as explained by declassified U. S. documents, still is trying to starve, deprive, and make miserable Cubans in Cuba to induce them to rise up and overthrow their post-Batista government. The Embargo/Blockade in February of 2024 has drastically promoted billions of tourism dollars for Miami but has drastically denied tourism money for Cuba!!! So, as you study the six images above, try to be fair about judging them. For example, note that the ultra-rich tourist mecca of Miami -- like all neighborly places except Cuba -- can depend on money from tourism, but the good people in Little Havana USA don't think the bad people in Cuba should have that capability.
Yes, even the mighty Norwegian Cruise Line is headquartered in Miami as if to show that Miami loves to make huge amounts of money by transporting or flying tourists elsewhere -- all EXCEPT to Cuba!!!
Tourists leaving Miami can cruise anywhere except nearby Cuba!!

But...it should be remembered that "before 1959" during the Mafia-Batista rule of Cuba the United States -- especially nearby Miami -- wildly sent tourists to Batista's Cuba to partake in spending money on massive Mafia lures such as gambling, drugs, prostitution, etc., etc. And then "AFTER 1959" the good Little Havana USA Cubans in Miami, for over six decades related to Cuba, have had different tourism ideas!!
In other words:
Before 1959 Miami wildly promoted "Visits to Cuba" but since 1959 the leaders in Miami's Little Havana USA have been allowed to dictate the USA's Cuban policies, and that includes making sure tourism doesn't help the island's dire economic problems. "So near and yet so foreign!! 90 miles from Key West!! VISIT CUBA!!" If nothing else, please admit that prior to 1959 that Miami loved Batista's Cuba.

Little Havana Still Dictates USA's Havana Decisions

It seems that since January of 1959 -- when the Cuban Revolution shocked the world by overthrowing the US/Mafia-backed Batista dictatorship -- Little Havana in nearby Miami-USA has essentially dictated U. S. policies regarding Cuba...including the 1961 Bay of Pigs military attack, the 1962 till 2024 U. S. Embargo/Blockade of Cuba, etc. And now in February of 2024 that situation seemingly continues unabated.
Above today -- on February 6th of 2024 -- you can see the major Cuban Headlines that are flashing around the U. S. and the world TODAY!! Note that the AP, the USA's top News Agency, headlines about the drastic results of the depleted Cuban economy. Reuters, the vast London-based News Agency, today reports from inside Cuba about how the government and people are coping with the drastic turmoils related to the island's devastated economy. And The Hill, a powerful political media source in Washington, reports on the consequences of the USA's endless ultra-powerful actions against Cuba that have existed since...well,  since January of 1959 when Cuba overthrew the U.S.-backed and tourist-beloved and money-crazed Batista dictatorship. And, of course, the Headline shown at the bottom above is from the Miami Herald that only loves Miami's Little Havana and hates post-revolutionary Havana.
Today -- on February 6th of 2024 -- the Miami Herald as always reports on the greatness of Miami's Little Havana and the deplorable nature of Havana. The massive new two-sentence Headline in the Miami Herald from Nora Gamez Torres refers to the latest extreme Counter Revolutionary member of the U. S. Congress from Miami-Little Havana -- Maria Elvira Salazar.
Since Janiuary of 2021, Maria Elvira Salazar has represented Miami in the U. S. Congress. She was born 62-years-ago in Miami and was educated at the University of Miami and Harvard University. In the U. S. Congress she followed in the footsteps of other Little Havana/Miami politicians that have made to Congress -- such as, shown above, Havana-born Lincoln Diaz-Balart, whose father was a key Minister in the Batista dictatorship, as well as Florida-born Mario Diaz-Balart, Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, Marco Rubio, Carlos Gimenez, etc., etc. In other words, any moderate politician regarding Cuba will never be elected to serve in Washington.
As shown above, before she made it to the U. S. Congress from Miami, Maria Salazar was, for a couple of decades, a powerful TV News Anchor in Miami and in that capacity she had famous interviews with notables such as Fidel Castro and Luis Posada Carriles, and to this day in 2024 those Salazar interviews with Castro and Posada are still easily accessed on YouTube for the world to see. Castro, of course, needs no introduction but Luis Possada Carriles, along with Orlando Bosch, are historically remembered as the two most famous and infamous U. S. and Little Havana Counter Revolutionary Cubans...eternal heroes to Miami and villians to Havana.
Now as a member of the U. S. Congress, Little Havana's Maria Elvira Salazar can use her television expertise on National TV U. S. News Shows to endlessly promote Little Havana's massive views regarding Havana, and -- of course -- those views are routinely never disputed.
But in Maria Elvira Salazar's backyard in Miami the Miami New Times -- as shown above -- reported about Salazar far differently than she was/is depicted by the Miami Herald and the national U. S. media. Enlarge and read the Miami New Times reports about Salazar shown above.
And, meanwhile, the two images directly above reflect reality in Cuba today on February 6th-2024. That reality today includes, for sure, the U. S. Embargo/Blockade that has tried to destroy Cuba's economy for the past 62 Years, and another natural FLOOD on a street in Havana TODAY. In that vein, as shown below, the sophisticated Cuban Television News Shows are mainly focusing on the weather on February 6th-2024.
And, in other words, on February 6th of 2024 -- as usual -- the News from Little Havana USA in Miami and from Cubavision Television in Havana are vastly different enterprises and objectives.
And so...the fascinating Miami-Havana Soap Opera resembling As The World Turns continues on-and-on in FEBRUARY of 2024...AND NOBODY knows when it will end. {And that includes Little Havana's Maria Elvira Salazar}.
