Rubio {US} vs. Amaro {Cuba}

The ultra-powerful U. S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio has surprised a lot of people by officially announcing {see above} that "The United State is prepared to provide immediate humanitarian assistance directly" to Cubans in Cuba who on October  31st  in 2025  are devastated by what Hurricane Melissa did to the already vulnerable island. But obviously many are skeptical about this statement by Marco Rubio who was born in the Little Havana section of Miami to Cuban-born parents 54 years ago. All his adult and very powerful political life in Miami and in Washingtion Rubio has been a prime enemy of Revoluionary Cuba. Now as the ultra-powerful U. S. Scretary of State since January of 2025 many believe Rubio will orchestrate a regime change in Cuba, perhaps before the end of 2025. So...what are some of the key reactions to Rubio's offer to "directly" help Cubans in Cuba on the heels of Hurricane  Melissa?????
For example, look at the skeptical nature of the New York Times headline shown above as it flashes around the world today -- October 31st in 2025. It clearly doesn't say that the U. S. will help Cubans in Cuba, it just "Says" it will do so. In the sub-line to this headline The NY Times points out that it is "rare" for the United States to help Cubans in Cuba since the Cuban Revolution overthrew the US-backed Batista dictatorship way  back on January 1st, 1959.
But even more important than the New York Times skepticism about Marco Rubio's offer to help Cubans in Cuba is what Cubans in Cuba say. A longtime journalist/TV anchor, Rosy Amaro was born in Havana and still lives there although she has visited over ten other capitals around the world, from Europe to Asia. She is not afraid to say things that might not please either the leaders of revolutionary Cuba or Marco Rubio. And, yes, she doesn't believe that Rubio, now that he is solely able to do so as U. S. Secretary of State, will ever help "everyday Cubans in Cuba." She is aware that the 7-story U. S. Embassy building in Havana is "shut" but used as a staging ground for its staff to fan out over the island to "help" dissidents. Is she being truthful or is Rubio?
During the devastation facing Cuba this week from Hurricane Melissa, Rosy Amaro posted the above comment and photo on Facebook. It is very dark during the storm but she began with these words: "I need to breathe because on the screen I see sadness, loss, destruction, swollen rivers, families on rooftops waiting for help. Yes, that's happening in Cuba because we're getting in the way of..." Is Marco Rubio right or is Rosy Amaro right? I believe Marco Rubio should be asked that question and I also believe Rosy Amaro should be asked the same question. Except for visiting the U. S. Military Base at Guantanamo Bay, Marco Rubio has never been to Cuba. But Rosy Amaro was born there and still lives there. And like Rubio, she has opinions too.
Before, during, and after it was visited by Hurricane Melissa, its location alone will alway mean that Cuba is vastly important.

Hurricane Melissa Exits Cuba

 But much DAMAGE Remains!!

After smashing through Jamaica Hurricane Melissa, sometimes at Category 5 and with winds up to a record 240 mph, the monster reached landfall in Eastern Cuba at 3:13 A. M. on Tuesday, October 28th, 2025.
In around Cuba's second largest city, Santiago de Cuba, the damage was extensive although Cuba is famous for massively preparing for and then enduring hurricanes.
But, for sure, Hurricane Melissa was a monster on its path in the Caribbean. In the nearby United States, today's Top Four Headlines are interesting, especially the Top Two from Fox News and Politico that stress that "Rubio Says White House Is Ready to help Cuba's hurricane recovery." Wow. That headline has surprised many Cubans as they face dire straits from the aftermaths of Hurricane Melissa while they were already facing vast problems with nationwide power blackouts and food shortages they already at least PARTLY blamed on Rubio and the endless U. S. economic blockade that has eixisted since 1962.
Arguably, in October of 2025 the two most powerful people in the world are U. S. President Donald Trump and his U. S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio. Cubans in Cuba believe strongly that, since January of 2025, Trump and Rubio have severely tightened the EMBARO/Blockade that has severely surrounded the island since 1962.
The ultra-powerful U. S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio was born 54 years ago to Cuban-born parents in Miami Florida's rich and very powerful Little Havana neighborhood. All of his life in both Miami and in Washington where he was U. S. Senator from 2011 till 2025, Marco Rubio has been an ultra-powerful force fighting against Revolutionary Cuba, which defeated the US-backed dictator Fulgencio Batista in January of 1959. Now as U. S. Secretary of State it seems that Marco Rubio is in a position to finally fulfill a lifelong dream, one way or the other!!
Yet, for sure, as Cubans on the island are still recovering from the drastic aftermaths of Hurricane Melissa, forgive them if they are surprised by the Top headlines shown above!! Indeed, will "Rubio help fund Cuba's hurricane recovery." ??

Hell and High Water Both Threaten Cuba!!

The  U. S. Blockade and Hurricane Melissa!!
But today on Saturday afternoon, October 25, 2025, this photo shows the Defense Council in Holguin Province meeting to try to defend eastern Cuba from the anticipated devastation from Hurricane Melissa that is about to pound the island.
The powerful Hurricane Melissa is expected to devastate eastern Cuba from October 25th to October 29th -- today/Saturday through Wednesday.
Meanwhile, tomorrow -- on Sunday, October 26th-2025 -- there will be another rally in New York City against the U. S. economic Embargo against Cuba that began in 1962 and is now in its "65th Year."
While the United States calls it an "EMBARGO" Cuba calls it a BLOCKADE or "Bloqueo" and rallies like the one in New York City tomorrow will call on the U. S. to "UNBLOCK CUBA FROM the BLOCKADE." This NYC rally is Sunday, October  26th, 2026.
But, meanwhile, from October 25th to October 28th in 2025 the vulnerable island of Cuba will be battling the wrath of Hurricane Melissa. Yet, come Hell or High Water in Cuba, the Cuban people are accustomed to dangerous catastrophes, OF COURSE.

Cuba gets massive support against US Embargo/Blockade

In October 2025 the UN will vote AGAIN

During each October for the last three decades the nations of the world at the United Nations in New York have voted almost unanimously for  the United States to end its economic Embargo/blockade against Cuba. There are now exactly 193 nations that now belong to the United  Nations. Normally only the U. S. plus one much-smaller nation votes to maintain the EMBARGO. This week -- on October 22nd in 2025 -- Cuba's longtime Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez called a news conference in which he referenced the end of the EMBARGO that he says has devastated millions of everyday Cubans. Below is a small part of his long statement:

Today Miami Wants Help to Cuba STOPPED!!

 October 16th in 2025!!!!

Since 1959 when the Cuban Revolution ousted military dictator Batista, rich and politically powerful Cuban exiles in Little Havana in Miami-Florida have shaped U. S. policies regarding Cuba. Especially since the start of 2025 worldwide headlines have spotlighted the plights of everyday Cubans on the island, including drastic food shortages, island-wide power blackouts, etc. Today on October 16th in 2025, as usual, Miami Florida is very upset that another country is trying to...help Cuba.

The glaring headline and article shown above today -- October 16-2025 -- was in the Miami Herald. It was written by Andres Oppenheimer and included the photo of Mexico's President Claudia Sheinbaum who wants to help the Cuban people.
Mexico's President Claudia Sheinbaum is not a supporter of the Revolutionary leaders in Cuba but she firmly and bravely supports the everyday Cubans on the island. Yes, the Miami Herald article today correctly reports that President Sheinbaum is bravely shipping much-needed oil to Cuba, which irks Miami. It reflects the fact that too many Miami Cubans don't seem concerned about the constant despair of Cubans in Cuba...but most of the world does, including Claudia Ssheinbaum.
The best source for honest and up-to-date news on Latin America is Americas QUARTERLY and it reports that Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum has a remarkable "73% approval rating in Mexico." She was elected to a six-year term as Mexico's President last year. Now 66-years-old, she is a notable scientist. And she is a powerful friend of the Cuban people on the Caribbean's largest island.

Cuba's Revolution Is Still Alive on October 15th, 2025. Amazing.

AMAZING!!!
The largest island and nation in the Caribbean, Cuba, has surprised the world since 1492 and it remains massively surprising the world today on October 15th in  2025. The TOP FOUR CUBAN HEADLINES today are somewhat more positive than others that have flashed around the world in recent months about drastic food shortages and island-wide power blackouts devastating Cuba. But today -- October 15th in 2015 -- some key nations, notably Mexico, are sending some much-needed help to Cuba.
Mexico is direly trying to help everyday Cubans.
Although Fidel Castro died at age 90 in 2016, his revolution is still alive, if barely, on October 15th, 2025. The additional headlines below explain that Miami's influence on Washington continues to assault Cuba via blocking "businesses" from reaching the island and even trying to block Cuba, a famed and historic baseball leader, from playing in the 2026 World Baseball Classic that will be played next year. But also note that in October-2025 that Cuba is still doing things such as developing genetic programs for cattle and that superpower China is renewing its criticisms against the 7-decade-old U. S. embargo of Cuba that officially began in 1962.
Back in the 1950s during the brutal Batista dictatorship in Cuba the U. S. and Cuba were the VERY BEST FRIENDS when U. S. tourists as well as top U. S. businesses and companies wildly partook in the vast Mafia-ruled financial spoils being raked in everyday in Cuba. If indeed money rules the world, will Cuba & the U. S. become "Good Friends" again? Well, not likely but stranger things have happened.
