Moods of Cubans at the end of June 2025

On a daily basis "Ciber Cuba" closely monitors the moods, trials, and tributations on the island of Cuba. As shown above the trusted outlet today on Saturday, June 28th in 2025 reports on a Cuban mother returning to the island with her daughter and husband to emotionally result with her relatives after living in the United States.
As shown above, the "emotions and mixed feelings" run the gamut when Cubans in the U. S. now visit Cuba after being away from the island for many years.
Also, of course, the Belly of the Beast daily updates the moods, trials, and tribulations of Cubans on their Caribbean island. Today this report informs us that many Cubans are considering lures from Southern Brazil while "the U. S. shuts the door to them." For sure, the current leadership in Brazil is very concerned about the plight of the Cubans in Cuba at the end of June in 2025.
"Buenos Dias A Todos"
And so, on Saturday, June 28th in 2025 the loving owner of this 1950s-era U. S. car in Havana wants to say, "Good Day To All" and he sincerely means it.

Does Fidel STILL Speak for Cuba?

A decade after he died in 2016??

History confirms that Fidel Castro's Cuban Revolution in 1959 shocked the world when he and it overthrew the U.S./Mafia-backed Batista dictatorship. A forceful orator, he could speak up to five hours in front of outdoor crowds of a million Cubans at a time. In one of his initial such speeches as shown above he said that his Revolution would serve the "voluntad de todo un pueblo" {"will of the people."
Generally considered the most targeted leader in history...some documentarians   claimed he survived up to 538 assassination attempts...Fidel Castro died peacefully in his own bed in Havana at age 90 on November 25th, 2016. But after somehow surviving massive attempts to eliminate him and to overthrow him -- INCLUDING the 1961 U. S. air-sea-and-land military attack -- many believe that Fidel Castro, or his legacy, continue to rule Cuba to this day in late June of 2025. For sure, after all these years and decades, the words of Fidel Castro can still resonate on the island nation.
"As much as is possible, it will be necessary..."
"No to impose."
Since the Cuban Revolution has ruled Cuba from 1959 until at least the summer of 2025, Oxfam and other international human rights organizations loudly proclaim that Cuba has a right to live without the devastating economic Embargo/Blockade that the superpower United States has imposed on Cuba for over six decades, from 1962 to 2025. Moreover, each year for over three decades the nations of the world in the United Nation have voted almost unanimously to end the EMBARGO/BLOCKADE.
Yet, since 1962 only one U. S. President -- Barack Obama -- has had the courage to even try to end the EMBARGO/BLOCKADE. In fact, President Obama actually flew to Cuba and personally told the Cuban people: "Cuba does not need to fear a threat from the United States." But, of course, by the time President Obama had flown back to the U. S. from Cuba the rich and powerful Cuban-American politicians in Miami and Washington had already begun to overrule President Obama's sincere plans to begin normalizing relations between the United States and Cuba.
Now, for the first time, since January of 2025, the Little Havana Cubans in Miami have one their own as the leader influencing  relations with Cuba. Born in Miami 54 years ago to anti-Castro parents, Marco Rubio has been appointed by President Donald Trump as the current U. S. Secretary of State. All of his adult life, Rubio has tried to end the Cuban Revolution, including his long stint as a powerful U. S. Senator from 2011 till January of 2025.  Now as Secretary of State, the most powerful position in the Trump adminstration, it would appear that the Cuban Revolution at last will finally end during the last half of 2025.
In this last week of June, 2025, this photo by Vladimi Molina shows a uniquely beautiful but empty beach in northern Cuba just a few miles from the mega-crowded and tourist-loving beaches in southern Florida. One day soon, perhaps, Cuban beaches once again might be crowded with tourists not restricted by a EMBARGO.
How will Fidel Castro's LEGACY handle that?

Cuban Spokeswoman Wants to Speak With US Counterparts

 URGENTLY...in late June of 2025!!!

As a key spokeswoman for the Cuban government and, she believes, for the everyday Cuban people, Johana Tablada is fraustrated that she can't speak frankly with counterparts of the U. S. government. In the Cuban media {TV, Radio, & Print} and on international Social Media outlets, she speaks candidly and forcefully about US-Cuban Relations during particularly dire times in 2025 for the deteriorating relations between the two countries. Below is a video on YouTube featuring Johana Tablada speaking in Spanish for Cuba about her frustrations with the United States:
Speaking in Spanish in a 12-minute YouTube video shown above, you can hear Cuba's U. S. expert Yohana Tablada talk about US-Cuba Relations.
In late June in 2025 Cuba blames that the powerful U. S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio for much, or most, of the island nation's dire economic problems that more-and-more are causing nationwide power blackouts and food shortages. Rubio was born 54 years ago in Miami to anti-Castro/Cuban-born parents. After a long stint as a U. S. Senator and now as Secretary of State, Rubio for his entire adult life has earned a reputation as one of the most severe critics of Revolutionay Cuba.
After Fidel Castro's Cuban Revolution in 1959 overthrew the US/Mafia-backed  Batista Dictatorship, nearby Miami and Cuban-Americans such as Marco Rubio have massively tried to persuade the superpower U. S. government to overthrow the Cuban Revolution. Now, perhaps sometime in 2025, it is widely believed that Marco Rubio now has the best chance to finally end Fidel Castro's Cuban Revolution...a decade after Fidel Castro died at age 90 in Havana in November of 2016.
"That debit is to be always the style of our party."
Many Cuban experts believe, in 2025, that Fidel Castro still speaks for Cuba and that his legacy still remains the most important and strongest factor ruling the island.
Born a few months after the victory by the Cuban Revolution in January of 1959, Miguel Diaz-Canel has been Cuba's President since 2018. Prior to that he was the island's very popular Education Minister. His prime job, very shaky after the blackouts and food shortages, now is to try to preserve the Revolution.

Today Marks the day Vilma Espin died in 2007

TODAY is June 18 in 2025

Vilva Espin died on June 18 in  2007

To this day on June 18 in 2025 Cubans honor Vilma Espin.
Since the 1950s this has been The Big Four in Cuba, the four most important people and most powerful people on the Caribbean island...starting with the Cuban Revolution in 1952 and throughout Revolutionary-ruled Cuba from 1959 till today on June 18th in 2025. From left to right above The Big Four have been: Vilva Espin, who died at age 77 on June 18 in 2007; Fidel Castro, who died at age 90 on November 25th in 2016; Raul Castro, who is still very much alive at age 94; and Celia Sanchez, who died at age 59 of lung cancer on January 11th, 1980. The many people who deny that this have been Cuba's Big  Four are simply lying to satisfy their own agendas.
While macho men such as Fidel, Raul, Che, and Camilo are more famed, as warriors and decision-makers the two most important Cubans during the Cuban Revolution and then in Revolutionary Cuba have been Celia Sanchez and Vilma Espin. These two women earned that distinction and, of course, it was made possible because Fidel Castro worshipped Celia and Raul Castro married Vilma a few days after winning the Revolution in January of 1959 and they stayed married until the day Vilma died on June 18th in 2007.
During the Cuban Revolution Raul Castro and Vilma Espin fought and planned side-by-side and then were married from 1959 till Vilma died in 2007.
The day Vilma & Raul married: January 26, 1959.
Of course, Vilma Espin was massively loved and admired by Fidel Castro. After Celia Sanchez died in 1980 Fidel called Vilma Cuba's "First Lady."
Yes, June 18th was the day Vilma Espin died in 2007 at age 77. And, yes, from 1952 until today, June 18th in 2025, Vilma Espin has been one of Cuba's Big Four Cubans, matched in influence and power only by Celia Sanchez, Fidel Castro, and Raul Castro.
Cuba's BIG Four

Democracy Now's Amy Goodman Speaks About Cuba

FORCEFULLY...as usual!!
Harvard-educated and now 68-years-old, Amy Goodman remains among the top echelon of journalists in America. On her one-hour Democracy Now! television broadcast today -- June 17, 2025 -- from New York City, she forcefully and graphically updated U. S., World, and Cuba news.
Today on Democracy Now! one of Amy Goodman's guests was Carlos Hernandez de Cossio, Cuba's Deputy Foreign Minster and a prime expert on US-Cuban Relations, a dire topic that he addressed again yesterday at the United Nations in New York City. Below you can see a transcript of the start of Amy Goodman's interview with Mr. de Cosio, including her first pertinent question and his first dire answer.
As you can see above, Amy Goodman asked Carlos de Cossio about "the Trump adminstration's tightening restrictions on Cuba." And she pointed out that "Secretaary of State Marco Rubio, a former Florida Republican senator whose parents were born in Cuba, has spearheaded Trump's attacks on Cuba as a leading supporter of the decades-old economic embargo against the island nation." As Cuba's prime expert on what Rubio is doing, Carlos de Cossio was asked by Amy Goodman about how Rubio, backed by Trump, has so drastically tightened the already extremely tight U. S. sanctions on Cuba. Below is how Carlos de Cossio answered that question:
Meanwhile, London-based Reuters and others have told the world about Cuba's current food shortages, nationwide power blackouts, etc.
But Amy Goodman today also reported, as shown above, that large protests are now taking place in Cuba against Trump and Rubio. The protest shown above was led by Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel and 94-year-old Raul Castro.
Today Amy Goodman's Democracy Now! focused on Marco Rubio's leadership of the drastic tightening of the U. S. EMBARGO/Blockade of Cuba that has existed for over six decades, since 1962. In January of 2025, as he became Secretary of  State, Rubio quickly put Cuba on the U. S. List of  Nations That Sponsor Terrorism, began visiting other countries to pressure them to suppport the EMBARGO, etc. Rubio, born 54 years in Miami to anti-Castro parents from Cuba, has spent his entire adult life in Miami and Washington trying to overthrow Revolutionary Cuba. Amy Goodman obviously believes he should not now be the sole most powerful person regarding what happens to the nearby island nation of Cuba.
Also today -- June 17-2025 -- both Amy Goodman on Democracy Now! and the Belly of the Beast boardcast reported that: "Caving to U. S. pressure, the Bahamas cancels Cuba's medical mission." Another victory for Rubio and another financial loss for Cuba and, many believe, also a medical loss for the Bahamas.
