Cuban Headlines Spotlight Powerful Cuban-Americans

 One Sentenced and One Promoted!!

     Today -- January 29th, 2025 -- the ultra-powerful Cuban-American U. S. Senator Bob Menendez was sentenced to 11 years in prison for corruption that involved selling his unique power. Menendez had been in the Senate since 2008 and often was the Chairman of the powerful Foreign Relations Committee that, among other things, included being a top proponent of the USA's harshest laws against Cuba. 

     Once before Bob Menendez had been charged with over a dozen corruption charges but that time a hung jury failed to convict him, and then right after that he got another 6-year term in the U. S. Senate. Such convictions need a jury to be unanimous on the verdict and one hung juror among the 12 can block a 11-0 verdict. But today the jury verdict was unanimous, meaning that the 11-year prison sentence for Bob Menendez marks the first time such a harsh verdict has ever been applied to such a powerful U. S. politician.

                          Thus, today's conviction of Bob Menendez is historic.

      Ironically, for over a decade Bob Menendez and Marco Rubio have been the two most powerful Cuban-American U. S. politicians essentially dictating U. S. Cuban Policies. Menendez had been in the U. S. Senate since 2008 and Rubio had been in the U. S. Senate since 2011, and both of them had often been Chairmen of the Senate's Foreign Relations Committee, depending on whether Democrats or Republicans were in charge of the Senate in the USA's two-party political system. Menendez is a Democrat and Rubio is a Republican. And so, now for the first time in many years neither Menendez nor Rubio are members of the U. S. Senate. Menendez today was sentenced to 11 years in prison; and Rubio is now the U. S. Secretary of State in the new {second} Trump presidential administration that started on January 20th, 2025.

     Now as Secretary of State in the United States, Marco Rubio has the power to "deliver" the incomparable U. S. power regarding/against Cuba for the next four years. For better or worse...it will not take Rubio FOUR YEARS to RESHAPE Cuba. By January in 2026 CUBA WILL BE RESHAPED.

    Shaped like an alligator, and just south of the USA, for sure Cuba will be reshaped by Marco Rubio in 2025...for good or bad.
