Ramifications Leave Smoldering Ashes!!
Cuba's Permanent Representative to the United Nations is Anayansi Rodriguez Camejo. She went ballistic in the UN this week. It was in reaction to her listening to a U. S. representative reading a multi-page script that essentially accused Cuba of being the world-leader in imprisoning and murdering its own citizens. Camejo, other Cubans, and Cuban supporters then began pounding their desks and shouting slogans such as "Cuba yes!! Embargo No!! Stop Reading Wild Lies."
The U. S. representative who read that scathing assault on Cuba was a lawyer named Kelley E. Currie. Flummoxed by the Cuban uproar, Currie kept asking for "security" to remove the Cubans and their supporters from the UN chamber. That was not done, so Currie kept reading the multiple-pages that reflect absurd accusations that only the most self-serving Counter Revolutionaries concoct -- such as Senator Marco Rubio and some of the well-known extremists that President Trump has allowed Rubio to appoint to strategic and tax-absorbing positions aimed at hurting Cuba the most -- such as former Miami Mayor Tomas Regalado, extreme anti-Cuban zealot Mauricio Claver-Carone, etc., etc.
In countering the Counter Revolutionary vitriol read at the UN by Kelley E. Currie, Cuba's UN Ambassador Anayonsi Rodriguez Camejo, during and after the heated session, accused the U. S. of reacting to the strong week Cuba's new President, Miguel Diaz-Canel, recently had at the UN and elsewhere around New York City, including Google boss Eric Schmidt hosting Diaz-Canel at a business conference that included many other top American executives. Camejo said, "We all know the Cuban war-mongers in Miami and Washington go somewhat insane if there is ever a Cuban positive they can't control. But the U. S. lacks the moral authority to judge Cuba, especially inventing absurd lies. The current U. S. administration drives an agenda of supremacist, racist, and xenophobic ideas. There is practically no crime in Cuba, as visitors and journalists well know, and that angers the Republicans and the anti-Cuban forces in Miami's Little Havana section. The U. S. founders invented something called Manifest Destiny to justify murdering Native American Indians to clear the land for white settlers. Some call that genocide. The long period of slave suppression of black Americans, buttressed with shameful legal hangings, is uniquely American, as is the more recent shootings of African-Americans by white policemen. If such things happened in Cuba, we would honestly expect a second successful Revolution to correct it, and our current successful Revolution indeed corrected such atrocities that were rampant when the United States and the U. S Mafia supported the Batista regime on our island. My point is this...lying to the American people about Cuba seems all-to-easy but lying face-to-face to Cuba at the United Nations is something we feel obligated to respond to."

Late today -- Wednesday, 4:38 P. M., October 17, 2018 -- Cuba's President, Miguel Diaz-Canel -- used his Twitter account to comment about the U. S. attack against Cuba at the UN. The presidential Tweet that you see above stressed: "The failure of the anti-Cuban show orchestrated by the Department of State to justify the blockade..." Cuba since 1962 has called the U. S. embargo "a blockade" and not just an embargo.
