Two Enemies: Coronavirus & U.S.
The sole publisher of Cubaninsider, Rich Haney, has passionately studied Cuba day and night since the 1980s and he has visited the island. He is a fiercely pro-democracy conservative Republican from Virginia and he believes the Cuban Revolution and Revolutionary Cuba say more about the United States than they say about Cuba.

Cuba Drug Key To Coronavirus Fight
China Thinks It Is!!
Today -- March 17, 2020 -- the popular news source CounterPunch has a major article entitled "Cuba's Contribution to Combatting COVID-19". It is written by the Cuban and Latin American expert at the University of Glasgow, Helen Yaffe. The long article begins with this update:
"COVID-19 began in the Chinese city of Wuhan in late December 2019 and by January 2020 it had hit Hubei province like a tital wave, swirling over China and rippling out overseas. Among the 30 medicines the Chinese National Health Commission selected to fight the virus was a Cuban anti-viral drug Interferon Alpha 2B. This drug has been produced in China since 2003, by the enterprise ChangHeber, a Cuban-Chinese joint venture. Cuban Interferon Alpha 2B has proven effective for viruses with characteristics similar to those of COVID-19."
Including China, at least 15 other nations have contacted Cuba requesting Heberon Alfa B to combat COVID-19.
As of March 17-2020 Cuba reports that it has "5 Confirmed Cases" of the Coronavirus and "388 Suspicious Cases."

Cuba Welcomes Stranded British Ship
All Other Nations Denied Its Entry
Cuban journalist Rosy Amaro Perez reports that Cuba has given permission for the British cruise ship MS Braemar to dock in Cuba although it has at least five confirmed cases of the Coronavirus. CNN's Havana correspondent Patrick Oppmann has confirmed Rosy Amaro Perez's report on his Twitter account. The ship has been perilously stranded in the Caribbean and all other nations had refused the ship to dock in their ports and have their hospitals help the patients. The MS Braemar has 682 passengers and 381 crew members.

Cuba Battles Coronavirus
As The U.S. Strengthens Blockade!!
Cuba's President Miguel Diaz-Canel chaired this discussion about the Coronavirus with top medical experts on the island. Asked if the U. S. "might possibly loosen the blockade during the COVID-19 pandemic," President Diaz-Canel replied: "To the contrary, the Cubans like Mauricio Claver-Carone in charge of the Trump administration's effort to regain control of Cuba have no pity for Cuban families on the island. Instead, taking advantage of disasters to further punish everyday Cubans is a policy aimed at turning Cubans here against their government while, as we know, making people like Claver-Carone rich and powerful on the expected bones of our people. As the Coronavirus threatens us, the blockade threatens us even more. We must deal with COVID-19 with that knowledge as we move forward."
In the discussion above, it was revealed that expected COVID-19 patients are being treated with a medicine known as Recombinant Interferon Alfa 2B. It was produced by Cuba's Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology {CIGB} and its Director, Eulogio Pimentel said, "We think we are capable of satisfying not only possible demand in Cuba for this proven medicine, but also the requests that we are getting from other countries. So far, 15 countries have asked for supplies."
Meanwhile:
The Cuban dissident artist Luis Manuel Otero Alcantara has been released from 13 days of confinement. International human rights groups and U. S. Cuban Counter Revolutionaries had raved about Otero Alcantara's imprisonment, which the Cuban government maintained was supported by most Cubans on the island. But the release apparently was mostly related to one major complaint from a beloved Cuban.
Cuba's most famed folk singer and songwriter, 73-year-old Silvio Rodriguez, wrote these words on his blog about Otero Alcantara's arrest: "We are giving a very sad impression of backwardness." That sentence predicated Otero Alcantara's release.
For decades on the island, Silvio Rodriguez has been a prime supporter of Fidel Castro's Cuban Revolution, and Silvio openly denounces the U.S.-backed Batista-Mafia regime that preceded it. So, one sentence from Silvio about the incarceration of dissident artist Otero Alcantara was instrumental in the dissident's release.
Cuba still staunchly maintains that Luis Manual Otero Alcantara and others like him are "massively funded by anti-Cubans in the U. S. Congress, all Republican White Houses, and unchecked political operatives in Little Havana and in Newark." One thing that recently irked Cuban officials was when Otero Alcantara allegedly video-taped "the debasing of the Cuban flag in his bathroom."

Cuba In the Coronavirus Era
Amid the Trump Blockade!!
*&***********************&*
*****************
The photo above taken in mid-March of 2020, I believe, is emblematic of Cuba in the age of the Coronavirus pandemic and the continuing cruel intensification of the US-Trump blockade against the sovereign Caribbean island. This image shows my friend Maite Romero Padron and seven other young, well-trained, dedicated female doctors at their hospital in the city of Ciego De Avila, Cuba. These eight medical experts are in the vanguard of Cubans trying to protect Cubans against the Coronavirus and other illnesses. Of course, these young doctors are greatly assaulted by the U. S. blockade being fiercely administered by a handful of Counter Revolutionary U. S. Cubans authorized self-servingly by President Trump. Of course, the asinine attempt of genocide is not opposed by neither the American people nor the mainstream U. S. media. And that, of course, reflects much more tellingly on the nearby Superpower than it defines Cuba.
This Wikipedia map shows the location of Ciego De Avila, a city of 119,000 totally innocent Cubans who do not deserve to be victims of a few very greedy Cuban-Americans who have the support of the U. S. President and the U. S. Congress to commit atrocities against Cubans on the island. Ciego De Avila in the heart of Central Cuba is where young Doctor Maite Romero Padron, my friend, and her colleagues shown above are doing their best to provide medical services to the citizens of Ciego De Avila. Their prime enemies in Little Havana/Miami, Newark, and in the U. S. Congress have no shame as they profit economically and politically in the United States from administrating suffering to far better humans on the nearby, vulnerable island of Cuba.
Meanwhile, this photo was taken today -- Saturday, March 14th, 2020 -- and it shows Cubavision International journalist Rosy Amaro Perez interviewing the President of Cuba, Miguel Diaz-Canel. The two topics, of course, were the Coronavirus and the U. S. blockade -- now intertwined subjects in Cuba.

Cuba Copes With Virus
And With U.S. Blockade!!
The CNN correspondent based in Havana, Patrick Oppmann, reports that the pants factory shown above in Sancti Spiritus has been turned into the production of face masks to fight the Coronavirus. Oppmann said that the three Italian tourists diagnosed with the virus in the southern city of Trinidad are now in a hospital in Havana.
In a follow-up to the comments U. S. presidential candidate Bernie Sanders said in praise of Fidel Castro, USA Today has shown a plethora of books that were published in 1959 to be used during the Literary Campaign. This book is entitled "Liberty or Death: Episodes of the Revolution." It highlights Commanders such as Fidel Castro upper-left, Camilo Cienfuegos lower-center, and Raul Castro in the lower-right.
The USA Today also spotlighted the above Literacy Campaign book in 1959 that spotlighted rebel leaders but strongly included two major martyrs shown to the left and right of the Fidel Castro photo -- Frank Pais, the 23-year-old teacher, and Jose Antonio Echeverria, the University of Havana student leader.
Both teacher Frank Pais and student Jose Antonio Echeverria {above} became everlasting martyrs after they were brutally and publicly murdered by Batista police officials because of their roles in the early days of the Revolutionary War. Today in Cuba there are no edifices named for Fidel Castro but there are major hospitals, airports, etc. named for Pais and Echeverria.
Meanwhile in Cuba today Cubavision International Television anchor Rosy Amaro Perez interviewed Dr. Roxanne Castellanos Cabrera about suggestions to combat the Coronavirus. One of the suggestions included the use of Dalmer dermatological soaps.

Cuba Battling Coronavirus Too
3 Cases Confirmed This Week!!
This week Cubavision International Television has confirmed that three Italian tourists who arrived in the city of Trinidad have now been diagnosed with the Coronavirus. They are being treated at Cuba's Pedro Kouri Medicine Institute.
The island of Cuba, because of the extreme intensification of the U. S. blockade by the Trump administration, is now one of the most isolated sovereign nations. But just across the Straits of Florida from the U. S. mainland, Cuba is a part of a world trying to react as the best it can to the perils presented by the COVID-19 pandemic.
This Ramon Espinosa/AP photo was taken today, March 12th, and shows a woman at Jose Marti Airport in Havana wearing a mask against the deadly COVID-19 virus. The photo was used by NBC News to update the effect of the Coronavirus in Cuba. At a textile workshop Susana Navarro told NBC, "There is a deficit in the country" that includes basic things such as medicine, certain foods, and even fabric needed to make more COVID-19 masks. Cuba is reeling from the fact that the Trump administration activated Title 3/Helms-Burton in 2019. Even the George W. Bush administration REFUSED to activate Title 3 because many observers consider it to be a genocidal assault on everyday Cuban families. Tonight's NBC News update about the Coronavirus impact in Cuba is a rare mention by even the left-wing anti-Trump U. S. media about what Trump's Title 3 entails, and, yes, it means genocide for innocent Cubans.
In the U. S. democracy, most American don't know and don't care what Title III/Helms-Burton is. Yet, in their names Title III, in the eyes of many unbiased and caring people, is committing genocide against masses of totally innocent people on the island of Cuba, with children and other innocents among the acute victims. At least tonight one U. S. media source, NBC News, had the guts to mention how the Coronavirus is impacting Cuba in the Age of Title III in Trump's and Little Havana's United States of America.
All Cuban television channels have concentrated on updating the latest data related to the Coronavirus.
