Cubans Try to Survive but nearing the end of 2024 it is harder than ever

Today is Sunday, November 10th, 2024. The map above shows where two earthquakes today hit in eastern Cuba. The first one measured at 5.9 magnitude and the second one measured 6.8. The earthquates are the last things that the Cuban people needed. They are still trying to recover from the devastating effects of Hurricane Rafael with most of the island, including Havana on the western end, still in total power blackouts. Also, more than ever, Cuba is suffering from the effects of the 62 years of the drastic economic U. S. EMBARGO of the nearby, vulnerable island.
The circle and two red stars pinpoint the location of the two strong earthquakes that hit eastern Cuba today -- on November 10th-2024.
While the two earthquakes were hitting eastern Cuba today, the island was also still trying to recover from the effects of Hurricane Rafael, which exited the island three days ago. These Cubans were "trying to salvage what we can from our demolished home." The Cuban who made that statement also said, "We well know that some neighboring countries that could and would help us will not do so because they are simply afraid of displeasing the United States."
And, of course, prior to the latest hurricanes and earthquakes that have tormented Cuba in November of 2024, the U. S. economic EMBARGO, which began way back in 1962, had already helped deprive Cuba of the wherewithal to protect its citizens from constant food and medical shortages, constant island-wide power blackouts, etc., etc.

Mexico Bravely Tries to HELP Blockaded & Starving Cubans

A legendary journalist and author, Steven Kinzer remains one of the best sources regarding the remifications that result from the ongoing US-Cuban Conundrum.
And therefore, as the historic and still important US-Cuban conundrum now winds around its way through the month of November in 2024, the most current article updating the relations between the two neighboring countries is the one shown above written by the great Stephen Kinzer in the Boston Globe. At least this major article is brave enough and honest enough to mention the U. S. economic EMBARGO/blockade of Cuba that has been trying to starve the vulnerable island of Cuba since 1962, which is over six decades ago.
After six decades, the U. S. EMBARGO has not overthrown Cuba's Revolutionary government, but for over six decades it has certainly succeeded in starving, depriving, and making miserable Cuban families on the island.

This photo by the worldwide London-based Reuters News Agency in November of 2024 shows a Cuban-flagged tanker shipping 412,000 barrels of much-needed oil from Mexico to Cuba.
This massive headline from the US-based Associated Press News Agency seems to disparage Mexico's decision to ship oil to Cuba. But at least the AP, as you can see below, explains why 10 million Cubans on the island, impovished by six-decades+ of a drastic U. S. Embargo/Blockade, are being bombarded by island-wide power blackouts, food shortages, and medical shortages. Yes, even the AP reports that: "The Cuban government blames the U. S. economic embargo for its woes...."
Cubans old and young on the island have spent all their lives in despair and, while it might not be the only reason, the endless U. S. EMBARGO remains a prime reason.
The photo above in November of 2024 shows another conference in Havana in which Cuba's President Miguel Diaz-Canel is hosting a top delegation from another country that is expressing dire concern about Cuba's almost-total economic downfall. Yet, as the Cuban President learned again, almost every nation around the world refuses to help Cuba becuase of the fear that it will displease the incomparably influential United States.

Why has the US Cuban Embargo lasted for 6+ decades?

Way back in 1962 the United States encircled the island of Cuba with an economic EMBARGO for the purpose of overthrowing the Cuban Revolution, which in 1959 had overthrown the U.S.-backed Batista dictatorship. Incredibly the EMBARGO has failed with Revolutionary Cuba now in its 65th Year of ruling the encircled nation. And the EMBARGO has existed for over six decades although the entire world loudly opposes it. Amazing. So why has the EMBARGO continued for over six decades?
On October 30th in 2024, as it has done for the past 32 Octobers, the 190 nations in the United Nations voted to end the U. S. EMBARGO on Cuba. As you can see above in red, the only two nations in the entire world that voted to continue the EMBARGO were -- as usual -- the United States and Israel. The world, of course, is aware that Israel is very dependent on billions of dollars of cash and military donations from the United States. But, except for Israel, all of the other nations voted against the EMBARGO.
Today -- on November 1st in 2024 -- above are the Top Five Cuban Headlines flashing around the world. Note that the latest 187-to-2 vote in the UN that again begged the U. S. to end its devastating EMBARGO against Cuba is still getting headlines around the world. That is because the brave and popular Foreign Minister of Argentina has been fired because she cast Argentina's vote as "Yes" in the UN to end the U. S. EMBARGO against Cuba...but the Argentine president wanted her to vote "No."
Since December of 2023 Javier Milei has been the President of Argentina. He is the man who fired his popular female Foreign Minister because she voted at the UN to end the U. S. EMBARGO against Cuba. In other words, President Mitei threw Cuba under the bus because he apparently envisions financial deals involving the United States, and he obviously desires not to defy the U. S. regarding the Cuban EMBARGO.
Above is the start of the Reuters worldwide article that explains why Argentina's President Javier Milei fired his highly respected Foreign Minister Diana Mondino because she was brave enough to defy Milei at the United Nations because she voted to end the U. S. EMBARGO against Cuba. Of course, Diana Mondino's vote was consistent with the votes of all the nations around the world other than Israel, which has long received vast financial favors from the United States.
Above is Argentina's Foreign Minisher Diana Mondino who got fired because she voted in the UN this week to end the U. S. Embargo of Cuba. She did so because she "listened" to her heart, which told her that the Embargo has drastically harmed the lives of three generations of Cuban families..."not just the revolutionary leaders that still rule Cuba."
Yes, in many languages Diana Mondino is being hailed or damned for having the courage to use Argentina's vote in the United Nations to vote AGAINST the U. S. Embargo/Blockade of Cuba. All of the other 189 nations at the UN, except the U. S. and Israel, AGREED with Diana Mondino...although she was fired as Argentina's Foreign Minister by Argentina's irate President Javier Milei.
The U. S. Cuban Embargo has existed for over six decades.
In March of 2016 two-term U. S. President Barack Obama visited Cuba for three days accompanied by his wife and two daughters. On nationwide television President Obama told the Cuban people: "Cuba Does Not Need To Fear A Threat From the United States." For a few days, Cubans were overjoyed but then reality returned. President Obama's famous promise quickly became a smokescreen that by 2017 saw the U. S. Embargo become tightened more than ever.

Of course, soon after President Obama returned to the U. S. after his 3-day visit to Cuba in March of 2016, he was confronted with the sheer reality that a few rich and politically powerful Cuban-Americans in the Little Havana area of Miami in Florida wanted the U. S. Cuban EMBARGO continued and, of course, in November of 2024 it is stronger than ever as it nears the end of its 62nd consecutive year.
Two days before November 1st in 2024 the United Nations in New York City again for the 32nd consecutive October voted 187-to-2 to end the EMBARGO. Of course, the two nations that voted "no" still prevailed as usual.

Today AGAIN the World Voted to END the US Cuban Embargo!!!

October 30th in 2024!!!!

Today -- on October 30th-2024 -- the nations of the world at the United Nations in New York, as they have voted overwhelmingly for over decades, loudly begged the United States to end its devastating economic EMBARGO/Blockade that surrounds the island of Cuba. Today's vote again was 187-to-2 with only the United States and Israel voting to continue it. Of course, the world is aware that Israel is currently engaged in another bloody War in the Middle East and Israel is direly dependent on massive cash and military donations from the superpower United States.
The U. S. EMBARGO/Blockade of CUBA started in 1962 and over six decades later it is harsher than ever ever though the world is ashamed about it...as the latest VOTE in the UN confirmed AGAIN TODAY on October 30th in 2024.

Will US Presidential Election Keep Cuba Alive?

The results of the 2024 U. S. Presidential Election will be released to the world on November 5th and the Caribbean island of Cuba will also come more into focus then. So at the end of October in 2024 the headline and article by Reuters, the world's best news agency, will foreshadow if the 65 years of rule by the pugnatious Cuban Revolution ends or somehow continues. So...what will REPLACE it?????????
The London-based Reuters News Agency is the world's best news source regarding the best news about Cuba and from Cuba. So study this week's massively important article about Cubal, including the opening words shown above.
At the end of October in 2024 above the top worldwide headlines agree that Cuba's revolutionary government will not survive dire economic situations on the island.
The map above reflects the 1950s when Cuba was thriving economically because the superpower United States wildly supported the Batista dictatorship, promoting massive tourism to the island and massive U. S. businesses as well as massive Mafia businesses on the island. But still the tyranical Batista was overthrown by the Cuban Revoluion on January 1, 1959...and everything changed. But Batista and his rich supporters from the U. S. failed to spread any of all money around to the majority peasants, the everyday Cubans who supported the rebels that were promising free medical care for all and free educations throught college.
And, so, since January 1st of 1959 the United States has embarked on a massive effort to overthrow the Cuban Revolution, including the U. S. Economic EMBARGO that has surrounded the vulnerable island since 1962, and finally after six+ decades it has caused the collapse of Cuba, as the aforementioned headlines cogently suggest. Of course, all observers believed the overthrow would only take a few weeks, not six+ decades!!!!
So this is a modern map of Cuba, a very close U. S. neighbor that soon will again see a massive influx of U. S. dollars that will flood the island to revive the Carribean's largest nation. At least for a time, it is assumed that some of the new financial windfall this time will benefit the everyday Cuban families.

Energy Blackout Might End Cuban Revolution

USA Today Headline in Late October-2024!!

The USA's national newspaer USA Today published the above headline on October 20th & 21st in October of 2024. It reports that yet another Hurricane, this time Oscar, has hit the already battered island of Cuba that was also trying to recover from a nationwide Power Blackout that affected all ten million of the citizens on the vulnerable island.
As you can see above, the USA Today leads the Top Cuban Headlines in late October of 2024. All four of the headlines, as you can detect, continue the vast litany of Cuban News that strongly hints that the end of the historic Cuban Revolution is coming to an end. If so, history will register the fact that Revolutionary Cuba has incredibly lasted for 65 years, since 1959. Moreover, Revolutionary Cuba has even existed for over 62 years, since 1962, when its northern neighbor, the Superpower United States, began its economic Embargo/Blockade that -- for over six decades -- has intended to "starve, deprive, and make miserable" the Cubans on the island to induce them to rise up and overthrow their Revolutionary government, which back on the first day of January in 1959 shocked the world by overthrowing the Mafia-backed and U.S.-backed Batista dictatorship. For over six decades the Embargo/Blockade of Cuba has not fulfilled its goals...at least till now. Now drastic food shortages, medical shortages, and power blackouts are combining to finally destroy the Cuban Revoluion even without an overall internal and domestic overthrow or uprising.
The photo above by USA Today in late October of 2024 shows two generations of Cubans in total despair and with no hope to continue their lives on the island. Since 1959, and especially since 1962, such a photo was preordained, I think.
In 1959 The Cuban Revolution shocked the world.
In October of 2024 the U. S. EMBARGO shocks the world.
Final Comment:  Cuba, a few miles south of the United States, is the largest and arguably the most beautiful island in the Caribbean. Since Columbus discovered Cuba in 1492 and proclaimed it "the most beautiful land these eyes have ever seen," it has been fought over by world powers ever since, including the decades it was controlled by Spain until the United States launched the easy and brief Spanish-American War on Cuban soil in 1898. Then the next greatest historic event came in 1959 when the Cuban Revolution overthrew the U.S.-backed/Mafia-backed Batista dictatorship. And now in October of 2024...it seems that the next great historic event in the history of Cuba will be the impending end of the Cuban Revolution.

Power Blackout for Entire Cuba Population!!!

Total Cuban Island Has Power Blackout!!!

On October 18th in 2024!! [NBC News photo}

As reported to the world today -- on October 18th in 2024 -- NBC News, as shown above, and other news sources are telling a mostly uncaring international coummunity that: "The entire island of Cuba is HAVING A POWER BLACKOUT AFFECTING ALL OF ITS TEN MILLION PEOPLE." It sadly reflects the dire econnomic conditions that are gripping the Caribbean's largest island nation, which happens to be just a few miles south of the United States. It also, of course, reflects the sheer and unique fact that Cuba for over six decades, since 1962, is the only small nation that has ever been encircled so long and so harshly by a much-larger nation. The encirclement is known to history as "The U. S. Embargo of Cuba" but the rest of the world is either too powerless or too uncaring when it comes to demanding that it finally ceases to exist.
The U. S. EMBARGO of Cuba began in 1962 and now near the end of 2024 it is more devastating than ever for the Cuban people. Yes, Cuba's revolutionary government since the triumph of the Cuban Revolution in 1959 over the US-backed Cuban dictator Batista has been partly or posssibly largely to blame; but that does not justify the stupidity or cruelty to what the U. S. EMBARGO has done to generations of innocent Cuban citizens for over six decades, since 1962. {I am an 84-year-old DEMOCRACY-loving American}.
