Cuba Tries to Survive August in 2024

London-based Reuters is the international News Agency that best reports on what is happening in Cuba. And now near the end of August in 2024 Reuters reports that the Cuban people on the island are having terrible problems with food shortages, blackouts, etc. The ubiquitous power blackouts reveal the dire straits Cuban families are enduring. Note the 21-second YouTube video below.

Cuban Women Led Castro's Revolution!!

Today is August 23rd in 2024. This day is wildly celebrated in Cuba because on August 23rd in 1960, the year after the triumph of the Cuban Revolution that defeated the Batista dictatorship, The Federation of Cuban Revolution was formed by the Cuban women who led the revolution, which is a true fact that is still conveniently denied by counter revolutionaries in the U. S.
The Federation of Cuban Women was created by Vilma Espin.

Yes, Cuban women such as Vilma Espin, starting in January of 1959 in Revolutionary Cuba, made the key decisions on the island...with the total consent of  Fidel Castro.
In January of 1959, a few days after chasing the US-backed and Mafia-aligned dictator Fulgencio Batista off the island, Vilma Espin married Raul Castro.
The BIG FOUR leaders of both the Cuban Revolution and in Revolutionary Cuba, left to right above, were: Vilma Espin, Fidel Castro, Raul Castro, and Celia Sanchez. If you don't know that, then you have been misled and lied to.
Cuba women indeed started the anti-Batista Cuban Revolution and many them, in the early days of the revolt, were captured and unmercifully tortured to death by Batista's goons. Such Cuban women included, as shown above, Lidia Doce and Clodimira Acosta. Such female rebel martyrs are still mightily remembered today in Cuba.
During and after the Revolutionary War key women guerrilla fighters and decision-makers included Celia Sanchez and Vilma Espin. They are shown above during the war in this historic photo that was taken by Dickey Chapelle, the greatest female war photographer in history {who was later killed on a battlefield during the Vietnam War}.
But for sure, Vilma Espin and Celia Sanchez not were only key fighters and decision-makers during the Cuban Revolution, but they were also the key decision-makers in Cuba after the triumphant victory over the US-backed Batista dictatorship. After the war Vilma married Raul Castro and they soon had two children, Mariela and Alejandro. The photo above shows Celia at the bedside after Vilma gave birth to Mariela. Vilma was married to Raul Castro while Fidel Castro verily and truly worshipped Celia. Vilma was born in Santiago de Cuba on April 7th in 1930 and she died at age 77 in 2007. Celia was born on May 9th in 1920 in Media Luna, Cuba and died of cancer at age 59 on on January 11th in 1980.

Yes, members of the Mariana Grajales Women's Platoon were among the first heroic rebels who arrived in Havana in January of 1959 as Superstars of the Cuban Revolution. It was an honor they richly deserved. Tete Puebla, shown on the left in the above photo, later served a long stint in Revolutionary Cuba as a General in the Cuban Army.

Cuban women started the Cuban Revoluion and they were there at the finish in January of 1959. Moreover, after the Revolutionary War, Cuban women such as Celia Sanchez, Vilma Espin, Tete Puebla, and Haydee Santamaria made the rules and laws that have set the parameters for Cuba since 1959, parameters such as The Federation of Cuban Women.

The Endless Batista vs. Castro War Rages in August of 2024

Batista ties to Florida Fueled His Cuban dictatorship.

This WKMG-TV photo was posted today -- August 21st-2024 -- by the CBS Television Station, WKMG, in Orlando, Florida. In the 1940s and 1950s this was the home of Flugencio Batista when he was the dictator of Cuba. This Batista mansion was in Daytona Beach, Florida where Batista was a close neighbor to close friends such as Mafia kingpins like Meyer Lansky who were keys to Batista's rule as Cuba's greedy and brutal dictator.

The two headlines and updates on Batista's Daytona Beach home were included in a huge article on August 21st-2024 by WKMG, the prime television station in Orlando, Florida.

Since the 1950s the Cuban struggles that pitted Fulgencio Batista against Fidel Castro have contined into August of 2024 although Batista died at age 72 in Spain in 1973 and Castro died at age 90 in Havana in 2016. Their Cuban Revolution that raged from 1952 till 1959 ended with Castro's rebels chasing Batista off the island for good on the early morning of January 1st in 1959. Since then historians, journalists, pundits, and propagandists have expounded endlessly about the issues and the results, often with both sides mostly presenting biased pros and cons.
It appears that the great writer T. J. English best chronicled the Batista vs. Castro Revolution in Cuba by explaining "How the Mob Owned Cuba...and Then Lost It to the Revolution." Otherwise almost all of the other explanations have involved self-serving lies or distortions, which don't come close to explaining how a little peasant-fueled rebel revolution defeated a powerful Dictator, Batista, who was supported by the strongest nation in the whole world, the United States, and by the strongest criminal organization, the Mafia, in the whole world. "How the Mob Owned Cuba...and Then Lost It to the Revolution" still remains an exciting, intriguing, and important phenomenom.
How the Mafia-backed/US-backed Batista Dictatorsiip was overthrown by the Fidel Castro-led Cuban Revolution not only was interesting and intriguing but also important. To this day in August of 2024 it stil mightily affects the region...with billionaire/millionaire U. S. Cubans dominating Little Havana in Miami while Havana in Cuba has struggled for over six decades to keep its people from starving while the U. S. EMBARGO-Blockade is now in its 62nd year.
The massive air-land-sea U. S. Bay of Pigs military attack on Cuba in 1961 was massively defended by Fidel Castro and his rebels. Then in 1962 the U. S. EMBARGO was imposed to starve, deprive, and make miserable the Cuban people to induce them to rise up and overthrow their revolutionary government. The EMBARGO more than six decades later still exists and is stronger than ever in August of 2024. The EMBARGO'S purposes haven't resulted in the overthrow of Cuba's rebel government but, for sure, it continues to starve, deprive, and make miserable another generation of Cubans on the encircled island.
Back in the 1940s and 1950s in the US/Mafia-backed Batista dictatorship there were many distinct spots of luxury fueled by Mafia enterprises and hugely rich U. S. companies raking in massive fortunes while providing gifts and financial kickbacks to the Batistiano leaders.
Back in the 1950s in Batista's Cuba the island was "Best Friends" with the United States, making U. S. companies, the Mafia, and the Batistianos very, very rich thanks to U. S. tourism and vast amountS of U. S. money. But there was a little PROBLEM: neither the Batistianos nor the United States saw a need to toss the Cuban peasants a few crumbs in the form of food-shelter-education-medical needs, and therefore that greed and stupidity spawned a do-or-die Revolution.
The greed and stupidity of Batista, the Mafia, and the United States in Cuba in the 1950s indeed spawned Fidel Castro's Cuban Revolution. Everyday non-Batistiano families were left with no food, no decent homes, no medical attention, and no education. Even non-peasant women revolted and when they complained Batista's goons murdered children to persuade their mothers not to resist. But history registers that Cuban mothers like the ones above did resist with brave protests reminding even the New York Times about the murders of "NUESTROS HIJOS"/"OUR CHILDREN" by the confident US/Mafia-backed Batista regime.
"HOW THE MOB OWNED CUBA...AND THEN LOST IT TO THE REVOLUTION." For the 65 years since the triumph of Fidel Castro's Cuban Revolution over the greedy and brutal Batista REGIME in Cuba, it has mostly and conveniently been purposely distorted by demonizing Fidel Castro while sanitizing Fulgencio Batista. But at least T. J. English got it right in his classic book. ln other words, what preceded Fidel Castro was not a Mother Teresa-type Cuba. It was Batista and the Mafia ruling Cuba and so it is still important in late August of 2024 to know "HOW THE MOB OWNED CUBA...AND THEN LOST IT TO THE REVOLUTION."

August-2024 Headlines Scream That Cuba Is Doomed but...!!

Today -- August 16th, 2024 -- above are the Top Cuban Headlines flashing around the world. The one from Canada in the Winniping Free Press is the most pertinent one.
Indeed, the article above from Winnipeg, Canada in mid-August in 2024 chronicles the ongoing problems Cuban families are facing with food shortages {hunger} as well as chronic power blackouts. The United States media and the United States government claim it is the fault of the island's Revolutionary government that way back on January 1st in 1959 overthrew the US/Mafia-backed Batista dictatorship in Cuba.
But in mid-August of 2024 most Cubans and most people in the world believe that the U. S. EMBARGO/BLOCKADE against Cuba remains the prime reason for the island's food shortages, power blackouts, and other deprivations. As noted by the billboard shown above, Cuba calls the six-decade-old U. S. Blockade of the island "The longest and most genecidal blockade in history."
However, more than anything else, the map above probably best explains the food shortages, power blackouts, and other deprivations affecting the Cuban people in mid-August of 2024. In other words, this maps shows that the Cuban capital of Havana is a mere 90 miles from the USA.

August 13 (Today} is a huge Cuban birthday!!

Fidel Castro was born on August 13th!!

Yes, Fidel Castro was born on August 13th, 1926.
History acknowledges that he lived for 90 years.
For sure, Fidel Castro's Cuban Revolution shocked the world in 1959 when he beat the unbeatable US/Mafia-backed Batista dictatorship in Cuba.
And moreover, even more shocking than winning the Cuban Revolution in 1959 is the sheer fact that the Cuban Revolution has, against all odds, been able to survive 65 YEARS in control of Cuba...and, yes, AGAINST ALL ODDS!!!
Today -- on August 13th, 2024 -- is more than eight years since Fidel Castro died in Havana at age 90. But his revolution, incredibly, still rules Cuba because of him or because of his legacy. That is why Fidel Castro remains the most important person in Cuba to this day and "Siempre"/"Always" -- at least until some foreign superpower regains control of the Caribbean's largest island, which is also, arguably, the Caribbean's most beautiful nation.
