A War In Cuba; A War On Cuba!!!

 Propelled by Yellow Journalism???

The United States history with the nearby island-nation of Cuba includes A War IN Cuba in 1898 and since 1959 A War ON Cuba. In 1898 the U. S. launched the Spanish-American War in Cuba to easily gain control of Cuba from Spain. Since 1959 the U. S. has engaged in an Economic & MILITARY War on Cuba to starve and overthrow the Cuban Revolution that audaciously overthrew the U. S. & Mafia-backed Batista dictatorship. The 1898 victorious U. S. War in Cuba was swift but the not-victorious Economic+MILITARY War on Cuba since 1959 has existed for 64 Years and remains endless even though it shames the United States even more than it shames and starves Cuba.
The opening paragrph above may not be politically or socially correct in the United States in July of 2023 but actually and factually it is correct. Further, I think I can prove what created and perpetrated both the U. S. War in Cuba in 1898 as well as the U. S. War on Cuba since 1959 is something correctly called Yellow Journalism, which occurs when scoundrels control the news gathering and news dispensing apparatuses, even in Democratic countries. Before you quickly deny the pernicious power of Yellow Journalism as it relates to these Two U. S. Wars on Cuba, permit me to explain the basic truth about how the U. S. media concocted Both Wars.

In the 1890s, fueled by Yellow Journalism as correctly documented above, the United States government wanted to implement its well-crafted desires to gain dominance of Cuba from Spain. Joseph Pulitzer, owner of the New York World newspaper, and William Randolph Hearst, owner of the New York Journal, had become the two most powerful publishers in the U. S. and the World. They were fierce competitors but both of them used extreme Yellow Journalism to stoke the flames urging the need for the United States to take over control of Cuba from Spain, and it was deemed quite easy to do because Spain's imperative forces in Cuba were finally stretched too thin and long-coveted Cuba was due South of the emerging military powerful and imperative anxious United States. All the U. S. needed was an excuse to attack Spain's forces in Cuba. WOW!!!! A U. S. warship, The U. S. Maine, was docked in Havana Bay and, quite conveniently, it exploded and killed 261 U. S. sailors!!!! That was all Pulitzer and Hearst needed to use its Yellow Journalism to create The Spanish-American War in 1898 in Cuba. It marked the News Media's first, but not its last, use of Yellow Journalism to promote and create other excuses to attack Cuba since 1898 -- such as the Bay of Pigs military attack in 1961, the Embargo/Economic attack since 1962 that still exists in July of 2023, and even terror attacks such as the infamous bombing of Cuban Flight 455 in 1976 that killed all on board the civilian flight!!!
But let's go back to the extreme Pulitzer/Hearst-led extreme Yellow Journalism that used the loud "Remember The Maine!" headlines that led to the SPANISH-AMERICAN WAR fought in Cuba and which easily and quickly changed the dominance of Cuba from Spain to the United States.
"Remember The Maine!"
The extreme Yellow Journalism of Joseph Pulitzer and William Randolph Hearst, the two most powerful publishers in New York and the World in 1898, led to the Spanish-American War as the U. S. dominance of Cuba began and it also began the U. S. emergence as a imperative power. Of course, such things are unaccountable for the rich people that profit from such things as the prime perpetrators...because they can easily cover up such misdeeds with Yellow Journalism.
Both Pulitzer and Hearst wanted the easy victory in the Spanish-American War to project Teddy Roosevelt into becoming President of the United States -- which happened, of course. To cover Teddy's "heroic exploits' in Cuba, some of the top journalists in NY and the US at the time were sent to hype the Spanish-American War in Cuba, especially Teddy's Rough Riders and his, uh, charge up the hill in the "The Battle of San Juan Hill."
The Yellow Journalism in 1898 surely led to the USA replacing Spain as the dominant foreign player in Cuba, and to be truthful it although led to...the U. S. Military Base in Guantanamo Bay-Cuba from 1903 till today, which led to two Batista dictatorships in Cuba, which led to the Mafia-directed terror that started in 1952, which led to the Fidel Castro-led Cuban Revolution from 1952 till it won in 1959, which led to Revolutionary Rule of Cuba from 1959 till JULY of 2023!!!
And one more reminder about how Yellow Journalism has clouded US-Cuban Relations from 1898 till JULY of 2023: In all that time only one U. S. President has truly tried to normalize relations with Cuba and that was two-term President Barack Obama. He even flew to Cuba to personally tell the Cuban people, in person and on national television and radio, that they "no longer needed to fear the United States." Of course, very quickly and everlastingly that presidential promise by Obama to the Cuban people on the island was cruelly mocked and easily nullified by Yellow Journalism, which remains in effect in July of 2023.
Despite the sincerity of his words in Cuba {"Cuba Does Not Need To Fear A Threat From The United States"}, back in the United States two-term U. S. President Barack Obama quickly learned that even he was forced to be rudely overruled by the power of Yellow Journalism regarding Cuba.
The most notable American Founding Father was Thomas Jefferson, the man that wrote its Declaration of Independence. He was many things, including America's greatest visionary. He understood in 1816, for example, that "the end of democracy and the defeat of the American Revolution will occur when...." He feared the end could occur if and when the governemnt and institutions might fall into the hands of moneyed incorporations, which began to occur in 1898 and still exists in July of 2023 as far as the U. S. Media and its Yellow Journalism is concerned.
And for sure Thomas Jefferson understood the importance and power of the news media and "newspapers," which he considered more important than government itself. And, for sure, Mr. Jefferson foresaw the threat of Yellow Journalism, which began to take over the U. S. government in 1898 when rich and powerful publishers in New York were the ones that decided the need for the SPANISH-AMERICAN WAR IN CUBA!!!

Who Defines U. S. Policy Regarding Cuba?

A New York Times Editorial Nails It!!

History registers the fact that the United States and Cuba have had relations since 1492, the year that Spanish explorer Columbus discovered both of the North American neighbors.
Since 1492, for the most part, little Cuba and the mighty United States have had a tumulturous relationship, to put it mildly...although they are only 90 miles apart geographically. The relationship has been wrought by countless wrong and greedy decisions from Washington and Havana but the prime culprits have really never been held accountable for their sins or miscalculations, and obviously never will.

The two images above reflect the two facts that the U. S. had friendly relations with dictator Batista's Cuba but since 1959 the U. S. has been in a tug-of-war with dictator Castro's revolutionary Cuba even after Castro himself died at age 90 in 2016.
That takes us to JULY 4th-2023!!

Today -- on July 4th-2023 -- Americans, including Professor/Journalist Peter Beinart, are celebrating the Birthday of the United States, which became a nation in 1776 after winning the American Revolution against England. Even today, despite everything else that is happening in the U. S. and around the world, major U. S. News Headlines involve the superpower USA's relations with its little southern neighbor Cuba. Incredibly, that has been the case since 1898, the year the U. S. easily won the Spanish-American War in Cuba to replace Spain as the foreign power seeking to dominate the Caribbean's largest and most beautiful island. In 1903 the dominant U. S. put a still thriving and anti-Cuban U. S. Military Base on Cuba's Guantanamo Bay, then later supported the brutal and thieving Batista dictatorship in Cuba but could not stop the Cuban Revolution in 1959 from shocking the world by ousting Batista as well as kicking out countless top U. S. businesses. Since 1959 the U. S. has been trying to regain control of Cuba from the Revolution with such drastic things as the disastrous {for the U. S.} Bay of Pigs military attack in 1961 and with the equally disastrous {for Cuba} U.S. Embargo/Blockade that started in 1962 and continues 63 years later in 2023, etc., etc!!! During all those historic years...1492, 1898, 1959, 1961, 1962, etc...a weakness of the superpower U. S. in its relations with Cuba has been a U. S. media that has mostly failed to tell the truth about US-Cuban Relations. Yet...as the U. S. began to celebrate JULY 4th-2023 the New York Times published a HUGE Editorial that actually truthfully explains who and why so many disastrous decisions by the U. S. have been made regarding Cuba. The Editorial in the New York Times was written this week by Peter Beinart who is a Professor of Journalism and Political Science at the City University of New York. Below is some of it.

Above are some excerpts from the New York Times editorial by Peter Beinart that was first published on June 3rd, 2023. I suggest you dial up the entire article that provides an honest appraisal of U.S.-Cuban Relations.

WOW!! Cuba Survives Into July of 2023!!

Although the map shown above reveals that Cuba is a mere 90 miles south of Key West-Florida, the pugnacious little alligator-shaped Island has somehow survived 64 turbulent years as REVOLUTIONARY Cuba. It continually shocks the world!!!

Incredibly, as OF this First Week OF JULY in 2023, the island nation of Cuba has been able to somehow maintain its revolutionary government!!! It means that Revolutionary Cuba has survived another month and it now means it has survived over 64 Years since its overthrow of the US/MAFIA-backed Batista Dictatorship in Cuba!!
Above are the BIG Four U.S./Worldwide Cuban Headlines in this First Week OF JULY in 2023!! In the top-left above notice that the AP, the top U. S. News Agency, headlines the fact that Elian Gonzalez is now an elected member of the Cuban parliament, the same Elian Gonzalez who, at age six, was the most famous child in the world after he was historically photographed while terrified when a heavily armed U. S. Marshall rescued him from a closet in Little Havana-Miami where Counter Revolutionary Cubans were holding him 23 years ago. Also notice that in this First Week in JULY-2023 the other three BIG Four US/Worldwide Cuban Headlines {see above} were all raving about reviving the endless string of excuses since 1959 that Miami/Little Havana diehards have proffered to persuade the U. S. to overthrow Revolutionary Cuba...with all three OF THOSE HEADLINES suggesting that China, the biggest threat to the U. S. economically and militarily, is now Low-n-Behold installing "a SPY/MILITARY base" in Cuba, which is indeed, Low-n-Behold, because Cuba is still a mere 90 miles south of Key West, Florida!!
In that milieu, please study the photo above that, also in this first week in July-2023, shows regular Cuban citizens in Guantanamo Province attending a regular meeting in which they are loudly complaining of the U. S. Military Base that has been on gorgeous Cuban land at the luscious Guantanamo Port since 1903, or shortly after the U. S. fought and easily won the SPANISH-AMERICAN WAR in Cuba in 1898. Revolutionary Cuba since 1959 has begged the world, especially at the United Nations, to persuade the United States to close its Military Base at Guantanamo and return the land and the valuable port to Cuba. Speaking for regular Cubans in Guantanamo, Maria said, "The U. S. Cubans in Miami and Washington are now bashing Cuba for supposedly allowing China to station a spy base or military base in Cuba but those in the U. S. who hate Cuba applaud the hateful and powerful U. S. military base on our land at Guantanamo. The rest of the world agrees that it and its notorious Prison should be closed but if you are awash with nuclear weapons and hatred, you don't have to listen to what the UN and the whole world says. Meanwhile, the United States is trying to starve us with the Blockade that has deprived us since 1962 while China at least has sent us food and done things for us such as recently providing us a modern and badly needed railway system. Yes, we have a right to favor a nation that sends us food as opposed to favoring a nearby nation that has tried to starve us since 1962."
Above study the photo and captions that led a worldwide article from the giant London-based Reuters News Agency that reminded everyone on June 30th of 2023 just how close the world is to War, especially with Superpower nuclear-powered nations like the U. S. and China busy with war-like manuevers in the sky and on the sea.
To understand Cuba in This First Week in JULY of 2023, study the photo above that was taken on June 21st-2023 at the Vatican in Rome, Italy. It shows Pope Francis during a long private discussion with Cuba's President Miguel Diaz-Canel. It's an amazing photo for several reasons, including the fact that Pope Francis had just gotten out of the hospital and this was absolutely his first meeting with a foreigner since his delicate hospitalization. This photo proves, I believe, that important people in the Vatican had noticed the international repercusions of many foreign leaders that recently had flown to Havana -- including key delegations from China, Russia, Iran, Colombia, etc. And it also appears that someone in the Vatican had noticed that Cuba's President Diaz-Canel in June of 2023 had been flying to many key capitals around the world before he was requested to fly to Rome.
On some of his flights in June of 2023 Cuba's President Diaz-Canel was accompanied by his wife Lis Cuesta, Cuba's First Lady. As shown above, Pope Francis, although just released from the hospital, also took time to speak with Cuba's First Lady, Lis Cuesta.
Such revelations such as Reuters telling the world about the USA & Chinese war manuevers and the Pope's urgent interest in Cuba's involvement are reminders of...World War II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, etc., etc. And it reminds me of what, perhaps, was the greatest Reminder/WARNING the American people have even received from a person that truly knew all about wars -- a man named Dwight D. Eisenhower.
Five-Star General DWIGHT D. EISENHOWER was the top leader and strategist that determined the necessary end of World War II in 1945. Later the beloved Ike was elected as a two-term President of the United States. After serving his eight years as President, Ike felt he had one last obligation to the United States and to the World. At the end of his presidency on January 27th of 1961, the great Ike went on nationwide television in the U. S. and felt obligated to make his famed "Military-Industrial Complex" speech. Most likely, it remains the best advice and best warning that America and the World have ever been given by such a knowledgable and great person. In that speech Ike warned that the extreme profits from Wars that enriched the "Military-Industrial Complex" posed a dire threat to the United States and to the entire world. If you deny that dire threat, please note how many billions of dollars for amunitions have already been spent in the Ukraine War that resulted from Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
In July of 2023 the United States and the World needs for some great and believable person to issue the same warning that Dwight D. Eisenhower issued on January 17th of 1961.

Cuba, US, & China on July 1st, 2023

Today -- on July 1st of 2023 -- the two photos above show a popular CVI-Cubavision International journalist reporting all the way from China {and on Social Media} this historic fact: "The story goes that the Great Wall of China was built to protect the borders from attacks..." On this first day of July-2023, these two photos document basic and updated facts regarding the blistering Cuba-US-China conundrum.
And now study  above the Top Four Cuban Headlines flashing around the World and around the United States today -- July 1st, 2023. Note that three 3 of the 4 headlines continue the extreme anti-Cuba reporting that ties Cuba to spy bases/military bases purportedly being installed by China & Russia in Cuba by the USA's two greatest threats/competitors. For the past 64 years powerful and fierce Counter Revolution Cubans in the U. S. have promoted countless excuses to entice the U. S. to overthrow Revolutionary Cuba, so on July 1st-2023 are the headlines above apart of that situation?? But also...note that, in this milieu, the huge headline on the Top-Left {above} heralds this news: "Cuban Castaway Elian Gonzalez Becomes A Lawmaker." WOW!!!
This photo from Ramon Espinosa/NBC/AP shows the 29-year-old Elian Gonzalez as he looks in Havana on July 1st, 2023. He is now married to his childhood sweetheart and is a loving parent. Recently, yes, he has been elected to the Cuban parliament.
This photo taken on April 22nd of 2000 by the Associated Press's Alan Diaz remains one of the most famous photos in the annals of history. It shows the 5-year-old Elian Gonzalez being rescued from a closet in Miami-Little Havana by a heavily armed U. S. Marshall, making the image above immortal and making Elian the most famous child in the world during that news cycle. The famed rescue, of course, allowed Elian's father Juan Gonzalez to return the terrified child back to Cuba. It, of course, was a monumental defeat for Counter Revolutionary Cubans in Miami-Little Havana but one of the rare victories in the past 64 years over Miami-Little Havana for Fidel Castro, Havana, and Cuba. Just for the record, below you can see how the huge July 1st-2023 article by NBC/Associated Press both rehashed and updated the historic rescue of Elian Gonzalez from that closet in Miami-Little Havana. In the first paragraph below you can read what the now 29-year-old Elian said "during an exclusive interview with The Associated Press." Then in the last two paragraphs notice how the AP, by far the top News Agency in the U. S., rehashed and updated on July 1st of 2023 the 2000 rescue OF Elian AT AGE 5.
And as you read above the topical and historic history of the Elian Gonzalez saga, please note that U.S.-Cuba Relations are indeed Historic but also TOPICAL. Thus remember that The Cuban Missile Crisis in October of 1962 remains to this day the closest the world has come to a nuclear holocaust!!
And, most OF all, remember that The Cuban Missile Crisis way back in 1962 concerned just newly produced nuclear missiles from two powers, the U. S. and the Soviet Union. Now in July of 2023 there are a lot of nations that have ultra-modern nuclear missiles, especially Russia, China, and the United States. In other words, 2023 nuclear missles massively stockpiled by Russia, the U. S., and China are many times more powerful than the 1962 Soviet-US missiles that massively scared the entire world!!! Amazingly, little Cuba in October of 1962 was the catalyst between the U. S. and the Soviet Union and in July of 2023 little Cuba again is being made into the catalyst between the nuclear-powerful U. S. against the nuclear-powerful Russia and China. Hopefully cool & intelligent decisions Will Prevail!!!

Does US Want To Be Cuba's Friend?

This photo was taken this last week of June-2023 by the Associated Press/Ismael Francisco. The AP is the USA's largest News Agency and the photo shows young female entrepreneurs in Cuba trying to survive the cruel 6-decade-old U. S. economic Embargo/Blockade and still try to start their own companies. This is an amazing photo and it was used to illustrate an amazing headline and article from the AP.
Above are the four TOP U. S. Cuban Headlines today -- on June 28th-2023. The top-left headline from the Miami Herald can be dismissed as just the usual anti-Cuban propaganda from Little Havana/Havana. But do read the AP headline shown today in the top-right: "Cuban Entrepreneurs Get Business Training From The US And Hope Biden Lifts The Sanctions." Now that headline/article, although coming from the mainstream U. S. media, is indeed worth reading. So...let us check it out!!
As you can see above, the worthwhile and accurate AP article is written by Andrea Rodriguez, an honest AP journalist that actually lives in Cuba. Her interesting report above actually and fairly tells us of what these young female entrepreneurs trying to start their businesses are actually getting some encouragement and training from Washington's Biden administration in late June of 2023. That is surprising...and important to know.
Meanwhile today -- June 28th-2023 -- the image above is also important and it was taken from a top nationwide Newscast televised in Cuba today. It shows a major speech being made by Ana Teresita Gonzalez, a very powerful Cuban business expert that Cuba's would-be ENTREPRENEURS trust. And as you see from the two images below, Ana's packed audience -- both in person and on nationwide TV -- is raptly attentive to what Ana was telling them today as she used a large screen to illustrate her major Talking Points!!!
So, yes, today on June 28th-2023 take time to read and study the honest AP article about hopeful female entrepreneurs in Cuba getting help from the U. S. government, but also respect what hopeful female entrepreneurs in Cuba are being told about how a Cuban business-woman is speaking to and helping female entrepreneurs to be successful in Cuba, and understand that the Cubans crowded into the audience today are totally trustful even though that Cuban business woman, Ana Teresita Gonzalez, is a powerful and very top leader in Revolutionary Cuba today.
So...on June 28th-2023...both the AP in the U. S. and a nationwide Newscast in Cuba are reporting that many highly educated and talented female entrepreneurs in Cuba are being helped in their quest to be successful by both the U. S. government in Washington and by the Cuban government in Havana. But, of course, there remains one massive and cruel obstacle that has been in place since 1962 and that is...the endless and asinine U. S. EMBARGO that the U. S. is UNABLE or UNWILLING to end.

More ON Why China Newly Loves Cuba!!!

Today -- June 27th-2023 -- this interesting photo was taken on a street in Bejing, China. It shows a popular television journalist/anchor in Havana communicating warmly today on a street in Bejing with two welcoming Chinese children.
Also interesting today -- June 27th, 2023 -- above are top News Headlines flashing around the U. S. from four top U. S. media sources. They are obsessed with China, the second economic and military power in the whole world, cozying up to Cuba, the pugnacious but little island nation supposedly reeling FROM near starvation more than ever from the 6-decade-old U. S. economic Embargo/Blockade of the island. Presumably...China is newly helping Cuba financially in exchange for things such as maintaining a Spy Base or even a Military Base in Cuba, where the U. S. has had an unwelcome Military Base since 1903 at the lucious Cuban port of Guantanamo Bay.
Among the extreme anti-Cuba/China headlines in the U. S. today is the news that Francis Suarez is now joining the current and already crowded Republican primary race to unseat Democratic President Biden in the 2024 election. Francis Suarez was born 45 years ago in Miami and since 2017 he has been the Mayor of Miami. He is from a long line of Cuban-Americans who have led Miami/Little Havana as well as the rich and politically powerful state of Florida for many decades, and always they have been at the forefront of Washington's 6+ decade fight to overthrow Revolutionary Cuba.
In fact, Xavier Suarez, the father of current Miami Mayor Francis Suarez, was the first Cuban-born Mayor of Miami/Little Havana. Xavier Suarez was born 74 years in Villa Clara, Cuba, and remains a political force in Florida and Washington.
Yes, the current Major of Miami, Francis Suarez, is currently running for President of the United States to hopefully overtake other Republican frontrunners Donald Trump and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and a host of other Republican candidates now frantically trying to unseat Democratic President Joe Biden in 2024. As shown above Francis Suarez, the current Miami Mayor, is being supported by his father Xavier Suarez, the first Cuban major of Miami, and many other ultra-powerful and rich Cuban-American residents that dominate Florida.
If you look back at the top of this page to study the Top Cuba-China Headlines topping the U. S. media today -- June 27-2023 -- you will see that Carlos Gimenez is one of the rich and ultra-powerful Cuban-Americans leading the charge condemning Cuba for supposingly allowing China to have a "base in Cuba." For sure, Carlos Gimenez is among the long line of Cubans that have been Mayor of Miami/Little Havana and now he has joined a list of Miami Cubans currently in the U. S. Congress in Washington, also including vehement Counter Revolutionary Cuban-Americans in Congress from Miami/Little Havava such as Marco Rubio, Mario Diaz-Balart, Elmira Salazar, etc.
Indeed on June 27th-2023 "Welcome to Little Havana USA". Closer than ever before, perhaps Little Havana USA in the heart of Miami is edging ever-closer to finally overthrowing the 1959 Triumph of the Cuban Revolution that shocked the world by overthrowing the U.S./Mafia-backed Batista Dictatorship in Cuba, and even one day Little Havana USA might claim an even larger prize -- the White House in Washington. Question: After many excuses in the past have failed, is the uproar over a Chinese Base in Cuba in June-2023 turning out to be the final excuse for Little Havana USA to finally recapture Havana and the whole of Cuba???? Uh...MAYBE, or MAYBE not!!!!!!
