Cuba Calm As U.S. Tightens Blockade

 Biden Prioritizes Cuban Blockade!!!

     Today -- Jan. 7-2022 -- the streets in Havana, as usual, were calm and peaceful and, to enjoy a nice winter day these two Cubans enjoyed a quick rest-break before returning to work.

    Most countries -- such as Slovakia -- have no reason to harm the Cuban people. Slovakia asked Cuba if it could send its water polo team to Havana so it could train with the Cuban team, and Cuba, of course, said yes.

    Today -- on Jan. 7th-2022 -- Cuba again reported "no deaths" from COVID-19 in the past 24 hours to highlight its extensive pandemic statistics.

     Today -- on Jan.7th-2022 -- Cuba had no deaths/"fallecidos" related to the pandemic in the past 24 hours. Its vaccination of children also has been successful and schools are open. With tourism restricted but allowed, there have been sharp upticks in the number of positive COVID-19 cases with the three prime areas, as shown above, being Matanzas, Camaguey, and Pinar del Rio.

  Internationally respected health sources, including Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, have reported on the "success story" of Cuba's own homegrown COVID-19 vaccines. And so have the world's best news sources such as those based in London, Paris, Toronto, etc. Of course, the U. S. media searches diligently only for negative stories about the U.S.-blockaded island nation of Cuba.

    Today -- on Jan. 7th-2022 -- this is the major U. S. Cuban headline as flashed by NBC News and the Associated Press. The Biden admimistration, of course, has massive domestic and international problems but on a daily basis destroying Revolutionary Cuba apparently is always prioritized.

    And so...the U. S. Embargo/Blockade against Cuba that began in 1962 is still being tightened in 2022 by the Biden administration. The second paragraph above by NBC/AP says: "The travel bans are the latest actions against Cuba from the Biden administration, which has largely followed former President Donald Trump's highly critical policies toward the island." Yes, Biden's Cuban policies are "highly critical policies" because most of the decent people around the world believe they are genocidal acts aimed at Cuban families on the island to appease rich and politically powerful Cubans in Miami, Newark, and in the U. S. Congress. And YES, most people believe the U. S. genocide against Cuban families that Biden is continuing especially became critical when Trump activated Title 3 of the Helms-Burton Act!!! Of course, the U. S. media is not competent, honest, or brave enough to tell the U. S. people what Title 3/Helms Burton is all about, or that President George W. Bush, who was tightly aligned with the Cuban extremists in Miami/Little Havana, REFUSED to activate Title 3 because even Bush believed Title 3 was too genocidal to inflict on Cuban families on the island.

    After the April-1961 Bay of Pigs military attack by Miami Cubans and the United States against Cuba refused to recapture the island, the U. S. in 1962 imposed the Embargo that, according to de-classified U. S. documents, was intended to starve, deprive, and make miserable Cubans in Cuba to induce them rise up and overthrow the Fidel Castro-led revolutionary rule of the island. Castro died at age 90 in 2016 but the Embargo...made lucrative but genocidal by the 1996 Helms Burton Act...which began in 1962...remains intact in 2022 and continually is tightened to the glee of Miami and Congressional Cubans.

   If Title 3 of Helms-Burton is genocidal against Cuban families on the island, as even President Bush believed it was/is, then why has the U. S. media failed to inform the American people what it is all about?? Prior to Trump & Biden, other U. S. Presidents refused to activate Title 3 because it was deemed too genocidal for the Superpower U. S. to impose on the Cuban people in a much smaller, nearby country. But thanks to Trump & Biden it remains very much activated in 2022...and to most people it adds genocide to Helms-Burton's longtime dictates of punishing Cubans on the island while VASTLY adding to the ways for Cubans in the U. S. to sue and make easier money via its one-sided Cuban policies whose purposes, in the eyes of many, have two prime purposes -- enriching U. S. Cubans while cruelly punishing Cubans in Cuba.

    As you can see above, the French government and the French media immediately "condemned" the Helms-Burton/Title 3 genocide when President Trump activated and legalized it in 2019!!!

    Many decent people believed that the 2020 U. S. election in which President Trump was replaced by President Biden would ease the U. S. genocide against Cuban families on the island. Yet, the Biden administration has, shamefully, not only continued Trump's Title 3-type lucrative but genocidal policies regarding Cubans in Cuba. Of course, within the U. S. democracy it is up to the American people to actually study what things such as Title 3/Helms-Burton entail...but, of course, that is simply not going to happen when it involves Cuba.

Precious BIRTHDAY in Cuba Today

 

    This is Gema Hernandez. Today -- Jan. 6-2022 -- is Gema's birthday. The moment she was born on Jan. 6-2015 she was and remains a historic person in the contentious relations between the United States and Cuba, comparable to Elian Gonzalez. Gema's parents, Gerardo and Ariana, also have two younger children in Havana. You may Google/research the saga about why Gema is such a historic and precious Little Girl today on her 7th BIRTHDAY in Havana. {It is riveting}.

    This is Adriana & Gerardo Hernandez in Havana will their three children. That is Gema, who turned 7-years-old today, in the middle. They are a beloved family in Cuba but one whose history perplexes Americans, especially in Little Havana/Miami.

   Nearby Cuba is no threat to the Superpower United States but faraway China is a massive threat to the United States both economically and militarily!! Did China today take advantage of the Biden administration's tightened embargo against Cuba? Today, as shown above, China & Cuba signed new accords as China "renewed support of Cuba as the United States continues to cruelly broaden its sanctions against Cuban families." Today both Cuban and Chinese television stations showed video & photos of Cuba's "Anniversary 63 of the Cuban Revolution" as new accords were signed.

   "And Beijing has sought to step in to help." {The Newsweek article above spoke cogently about China's stance regarding the U. S. embargo against Cuba}.

    Today -- Jan. 6th-2022 -- Cuba released some good news about its oil production in the El Fraile region east of the western town of Santa Cruz. The positive result is already improving the island's electricity capacity. Cuba extracts 99% of its oil in the 750-square-kilometer/60-mile radius between Havana and the Varadero Beach resort.

     Cubans on the island remain ecstatic about the efficacy of its homegrown COVID-19 vaccines but the recent influx of visitors "while keeping doors open for its economically vital tourism industry" has increased the number of positive cases. Thus "Cuba tightened border controls yesterday {Jan. 5-2022} as the Caribbean island nation moved to tamp down a growing wave of coronavirus infections."

     Meanwhile sports events and political meetings continue to involve Cuban teams flying abroad. The report above today pertains to: "Cuban delegation arrives in Buenos Aires for the Celac meeting." 

   On January 1st-2022 Cuba celebrated the 63rd anniversary of the triumph of the Cuban Revolution over the U.S./Mafia-backed Batista dictatorship. Also, Cubans on the island are aware that the U. S. Embargo of the island is into its 60th year, and millions of Cubans are reeling because both the Trump and Biden administrations in Washington have continued to tighten the Embargo. Yet, the Revolutionary Flag...after 63 years and counting...still flies over Cuba!!!

U.S. Media Promotes Cuban Propaganda

While Using Cuba As a Miami Piggybank!!

   Today, on Jan. 5th-2022, the two international media giants based in London -- The Guardian and Reuters -- sent the above very fair and honest article around the world about Cuba. Such honesty & fairness regarding Cuba is nowhere to be found in the U. S. media, and not just from the Little Havana-controlled Miami Herald.

    In this first week of 2022, as has been the case since 1959, the Miami Herald and the rest of the U. S. media focuses on the USA's two Cuban priorities -- demonizing and destroying Revolutionary Cuba while loudly sanitizing the historic extremes of the U.S./Mafia-backed Batista Rule of Cuba back in the 1950s. Of course, along with starving Cubans on the island, the top priority of Little Havana seems to remain using the power of the Florida & USA governments to continue using Cuba as a Miami piggybank...as illustrated by the headlines above. In contrast to the U. S. media, a real Cuban article today -- January 5th, 2022 -- actually reports fairly below on an important fact about Cuba, but because it is positive the U. S. media ignores it!!

    While the U. S. media is obliged to saturate Americans with Counter Revolutionary Cuban propaganda on a daily basis, honest & fair media sources -- such as today's article sent around the world by The Guardian and Reuters -- actually reports important news regarding Cuba. While the U. S. media only quotes extreme Counter Revolutionary benefactors regarding Cuba, this international article today actually quotes an unbiased expert, English professor John Kirk, saying something amazingly positive about how Cuba, despite the endless and cruel U. S. blockade of the island: "The idea that Cuba, with only 11 million people, and limited income, could be a biotech power, might be incomprehensible for someone working at Pfizer, but for Cuba it is possible." Of course, the U. S. media adamantly demands that the American people...who are supposed to support or at least tolerate the Blockade...ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO KNOW that poor little Blockaded Cuba has produced its own efficacious COVID-19 vaccines.

    And meanwhile...as shown by the headlines above...the U. S. media is touting another bonanza about starving Cuba while receiving yet another financial "settlement" from yet another U.S.-based company -- this time airbnb -- that had the audacity to do a little business with Cuba in violation of the USA's financial Blockade of the island. The U. S. media tells the American people such things as...the embargo since 1962, the blockade, the Bay of Pigs military attack, deadly terrorist attacks such as downing the civilian Cubana Flight 455 plane and bombing Havana hotels to discourage tourism, etc. -- is absolutely necessary and that it only hurts the mean leaders of Cuba, not everyday Cubans...and the U. S. dominance of the island is needed to save the EVERYDAY CUBAN PEOPLE just as...uh...when we supported our friendly and very nice dictator Batista prior to the Revolution.

   "If we seize Cuba we will be masters of the Caribbean." Thomas Jefferson -- the USA's most notable Founding Father and the writer of the U. S. Declaration of Independence from England -- made that quote in 1817. Since then the United States has been obsessed with conquering Cuba so "we will be the masters of the Caribbean." Actually, the U. S. used the 1898 Spanish-American War to conquer Cuba but, like Spain, the U. S., instead of making Cuba a splendid Democracy, used it as a Piggybank, especially when the U.S./Mafia teamed to support the brutal/thieving Batista dictatorship starting in 1952, a decision that spawned the Cuban Revolution that altered things on January 1, 1959!!

    From President Thomas Jefferson to President Joe Biden, only one U. S. President -- Barack Obama -- has displayed even a modicum of respect for the Cuban people on the island, while gorging the island as a tasty Piggybank for greedy U.S.-friendly Cubans and already rich Americans. In March 2016 President Obama had the unique combination of integrity and courage to fly to Cuba and make this profound promise to the Cuban people: "Cuba does not need to fear a threat from the United States."

      "Cuba does not need to fear a threat from the United States." To his everlasting credit, President Obama sincerely meant those words in March of 2016 and, immediately, Cubans on the island were given the chance by the nearby Superpower to enjoy real Embassies in both Havana and Washington and even allowed to have their own businesses so they could feed and take care of their children, unlike the pre-Obama U. S. relations.

    Immediately starting in 2016, thanks to the courage and decency of President Obama, many of Cuba's well-educated and child-loving mothers, such as Niuris Higueras and Yamina Vicenta shown above, shed the genocidal shackles of the U. S. blockade and quickly started their own businesses, mostly catering to the tourist trade that President Obama allowed them to have, such as opening their restaurants or bed & breakfasts or nice bedrooms for tourists to rent and living rooms to dine in for. And THEY THRIVED...at least until President Obama's courageous hopes for the U. S. democracy, regarding Cuba, was scuttled by just one dictator of the USA's lucrative Cuban policies -- namely U. S. Senator Marco Rubio from Little Havana in Miami!! Even the Miami Herald...FOR GOD'S SAKE...had a major article {shown above} in which Cuban mothers-turned-entrepreneurs pleaded with Marco Rubio to let them continue the businesses that Obama allowed them to start as a viable means to support their families. But of course, Little Havana's Marco Rubio -- one man in the U. S. Congress's 535-member democratic body -- cruelly didn't bother to even listen to a word from decent Cuban mothers/entrepreneurs on the island...not even when they pleaded with Rubio in his own local newspaper, the Miami Herald, and not even 20+ of the mothers/entrepreneurs went to Washington to try to plead in person with Rubio and not even when 100+ Cuban mothers/entrepreneurs left a sweet, long letter with Rubio to let him know how much he was hurting their children back on the island.

    When one man from Little Havana/Miami -- Rubio -- can dictate and "Roll Back CUBA POLICY" that was bravely and sanely permitted by President Obama, what does that SAY ABOUT THE U. S. DEMOCRACY and WHAT DOES IT SAY ABOUT 340 MILLION AMERICANS WHO SIT BACK ON THEIR COWARDLY ASSES AND PERMIT IT TO HAPPEN?

    The photo above shows Niuris Higueras after she and her daughter had finished fixing tables for the U. S. tourists that President Obama in 2016 allowed them to serve as, very briefly, they were successful entrepreneurs in Havana. But after Rubio ended her business on behalf of Little Havana, Niuris and other mothers/entrepreneurs went to Miami and to Washington to beg Rubio to allow them to resume their businesses on behalf of their families on the island. Of course, Rubio hasn't even given them the courtesy of a simply reply.

   But, actually, there are many decent Cuban Americans in Miami who believe children & mothers in Cuba are more important than revenge and money. The problem is...they seem to not be the ones who can get elected to political positions. Thus, I assume Alfaro Fernandez is unelectable.

Cuba Starts the New Year

    Just a few weeks ago Cuba was reporting deaths from COVID-19 in the hundreds and the confirmed cases each day in the many thousands. But in recent weeks Cuba has embarked on a massive vaccination campaign across the island with its three own primary homegrown vaccines -- shown above -- and the numbers have drastically dropped.

     Now in its 24-hour statistics Cuba is reporting confirmed cases just in the hundreds and, in many days, Zero-0 deaths {"fallecidos"}. To be sure, the advent of the Omicron strain plus the sharply increased tourism to the island has increased the numbers somewhat, with the first two days of 2022 having one new death each day.

  

     And, meanwhile, as respected international observers like NewScientist tout Cuba's homegrown COVID-19 vaccines, big countries such as Mexico, Vietnam, etc. are beginning to use Cuba's vaccines to curb the pandemic...not to mention in the Caribbean little Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, with its population of 111,000, is using Cuba's Abdala vaccine to battle COVID-19.

     And, meanwhile, on this first weekend of 2022 the Top Headlines including the Paris-based France 24 Newwork reporting on the fascinating history of Havana's Hotel Nacional while actually this weekend the top Cuban headline in the USA finds the Washington Post reporting on the crime in Key West, Florida's nearest U. S. NEIGHBOR. Most Cubans on the island now have access to the Internet and they are appalled by the crime that seems to inundate and be rampant in U. S. cities.

    And, meanwhile, this first weekend in 2022 Floridians see the staggering statistics about their state having "58,000 infections in one day, a record number of COVID-19 cases in Florida." Of course, Florida is just across the Florida Straits from Cuba. Florida has a population of 21.7 million and Cuba has a population of 11.2 million people.

    And, meanwhile, well-educated and media-savvy Cubans in Cuba, such as Maria, have pertinent opinions about Florida and her Cuba. She even said: "Florida has so many problems with having so much money, so much crime, and so many COVID-19 cases, a sane person might think that Florida, instead of concentrating on starving Cuba, should concentrate more and better on its own problems, which include polluted beaches and waterways, which scientists continue maintaining that Florida should learn about what Cuba has long done to protect its much more pristine beaches and waterways."

     I am a Democracy-loving Virginian but I note that my state has drastically more COVID-19 cases and drastically more crime than Cuba has. Virginia has a population of 8 million+ and Cuba has a population of 11 million+.

     Cuba, as shown above, has reopened its borders to comply with much-needed tourism but with the very contagious Omicron strain of COVID-19 Cuba is now applying new restrictions.

     And, meanwhile, through it all...Cuba is trying mightily to survive the twin perils of the U. S. Blockade and the COVID-19 Pandemic. A major U. S. news sources, Forbes, sent a crew of Travel Writers to Cuba and then informed the world that American tourists should know that in the Winter of 2022 "NOW IS THE TIME TO GO TO CUBA." The huge Forbes article bravely reported that Cuba's "well developed medical structure" and the unique "warmth of the weather as winter sets in would be matched by the warmth of the Cuban people." So, incredibly, Forbes -- a prime U. S. media giant -- is brave enough to suggest that Cuba would be a nice place for Americans to visit this winter!! Folks, that is being brave in the USA.

     And, meanwhile, music-loving and dance-loving Cubans in Cuba -- as shown above -- brought in 2022 with an elaborate performance at Havana's famed Cabaret Tropicana.

     And, meanwhile, on this first weekend of 2022 Cubans in Cuba are celebrating the New Year by singing and dancing. And, also, the Cubans in Cuba were showing off some of the major renovations being made to many buildings despite the Pandemic and the Blockade. Above this weekend the singing and dancing above was in the lavish Gran Teatro Alicia Alonso Ballroom in Havana. In other words, while Revolutionary Cuba is far from perfect, many Cubans on the island at the start of 2022 believe that Cuba today is better that it was prior to 1959 when the U.S.-backed/Mafia-backed Batista dictatorship ruled the island. And as a Democracy-loving American, I believe that the U. S. media should consider the opinions of everyday Cubans on the island, not only Cubans in Florida or Cuban dissidents on the island. After all, Cuba and the U. S. are now into the 63rd YEAR of Revolutionary rule in Cuba and it is perhaps time that the U. S. media informed the U. S. people how that incredible development has endured all these decades against incredible odds!!

    And, meanwhile...as a Democracy-loving American...all I ask is that the U. S. media be fair enough and honest enough and brave enough to consider the opinions of the Cubans on the island, not just the opinions of extreme Counter Revolutionary Cubans in Miami and extreme dissident Cubans on the island. Everyday Cubans on the island obviously have opinions too and it is those Opinions, APPARENTLY, that MOST disapprove of the fact that Cubans in Little Havana dictate the USA's Cuban POLICIES that MANY consider GENOCIDAL!!
