Did US Give Cuba $2 Million?

After the Bay of Pigs military attack in 1961 was defeated by Revolutionary Cuba, the United States from 1962 until TODAY -- October 19th-2022 -- has imposed an economic Blockade against Cuba for the purpose of starving, depriving, and making miserable the Cuban people for the purpose of persuading them to rise up and overthrow their own Revolutionary government. The reason for the Blockade has not been realized but indeed for over six decades it has succeeded in starving, depriving, and making miserable generations of Cubans on the island. At various times...the U. S. has made headlines by saying it wants to help the everyday Cuban people. Yet...both Cuban officials and everyday Cubans believe that such efforts are merely excuses for the U. S. to send more-and-more money to dissidents to help them overthrow the Cuban government.
Now in the past two days -- October 18th & 19th-2022 -- headlines around the world by the NY Times, Washington Post, London-based The Guardian, etc., have claimed that the U. S. is sending $2 million to Cuba to help Cubans who have been devastated by Hurricane Ian that hit them very harshly on the heels of earlier harsh recent disasters. Please understand...that Cubans who managed to survive such calamitous disasters still believe that the prime disaster in their lives is the Blockade, so forgive them if they remember that previous such offers about "aid" from the U. S. was meant only to go to U.S.-preferred dissidents, not to the Cuban government that, since January of 1959, has tried to guarantee them such things as free healthcare, free education through college, and free food.
And PLEASE understand...that what spawned and spurred the successful Cuban Revolution in the 1950s was the fact that the vicious Batista dictatorship, supported by the Mafia and by the United States, robbed the island blindly but didn't toss even a few crumbs to the majority peasants, and then to quell dissent from the everyday Cubans the Batista dictatorship murdered children to keep their parents in check. Those two ploys...as historically documented by images like the two above...backfired on Batista, the Mafia, and the U. S. Not admitting the validity of the two photos above from Batista's Cuba supposedly justifies the cruelty of the U. S. policies against Cuba since 1959.
From the two black & white images from the 1950s, please contrast and please note the image shown above today. It shows Cuba's highly respected long-time Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez speaking today to the Cuban people...and his long address was carried on all of the island's TV and radio channels. He spoke about what the Cuban people are going through in October of 2022...power blackouts, food shortages, etc....and, as you see above, he blames "the blockade" for depriving them of food, energy, etc.
And PLEASE understand...when he speaks for Cuba Bruno Rodriguez is not only believed by almost every Cuban in Cuba but also by almost every unbiased American, including countless U. S. journalists and government officials who have known him for many years. Above, in his televised speech today that was seen by most adult Cubans on the island, Bruno spoke about the U. S. supposedly handing over $2 million to help the island...but he stressed the extreme and unending cruelty of the blockade that continues preventing Cuba to provide for the basic needs of the Cuban people. He uses words such as "cruel" and "unforgivable" to describe the blockade, which is rightly called history's longest and cruelest blockade ever imposed by a powerful nation against the people in a much smaller nation. I include in English some of the captions in Bruno's sentences, although I realize Americans are programmed not to care one iota about the truth he spoke to the Cuban people today.
And the same Americans who have been programmed for decades not to be ashamed of the above image of the United States of America are the same Americans who condone, decade after decade, the internationally condemned EMBARGO.
