Pain for Both Miami & Havana Families

And WHY It Exists Decade-After-Decade!!

Based in Miami Carmen Sesin is the national journalist regarding Cuba-related News for the powerful NBC News. Usually she reports on anti-Havana propaganda on behalf of Little Havana in Miami, but this first week in September of 2022 she has actually provided an excellent news update on a story that chronicles the ageless and ongoing pain that results daily for families in both Havana and Miami.
This photo shows Alina Lopez Miyares, the Cuban-American teacher who has been released from prison in Cuba after serving a 5-year sentence for allegedly spying for Miami while on her frequent visits to Havana. But while being released from prison in Havana, the Cuban government refuses to allow her to return to Miami. This photo is sitting proudly in Miami in the home of Alina's mother who is now seriously ill in a Miami hospital. The mother, also named Alina, has been a powerful advocate for her daughter and had frequently flown from Miami to Havana to visit her imprisoned daughter in Cuba.
The tragic Cuba-in-Miami saga since 1959, as Alina's story indicates, has been a continuous conundrum that has tormented families on both sides of the Florida Straits for all these decades. Both governments are guilty but neither will admit it. Thus it might continue for another 6+ decades or so. The mainstream U. S. media, including the Miami-based NBC News journalist that reported this news-worthy article about Alina Lopez Miyares, normally promotes the myth that all Cubans in Cuba are bad and all the Cubans in Miami are good...and such propaganda, I think, continually exacerbates the torment for FAMILES in Cuba as well as in Miami.
Yet, as this updated headline indicates, even as the fierce standoff between the Cuban and USA governments continues with no end in sight, American Airlines and other key transportation sources in Miami and elsewhere in the U. S. try faithfully to serve the needs of families in Havana and Miami that want to visit each other.
"American Airlines has asked the US DOT to let it increase its 6 daily roundtrip flights between Miami and Havana to 8 daily roundtrip flights." In other words, in September of 2022 while the U. S. government has massively tried to overthrow Cuba's revolutionary government from 1959 till 2022, families in Miami are eager to fly to Cuba to see and presumably help the cruelly targeted families in Cuba. And that is why American Airlines is begging the U. S. Department of Transportation to allow it to increase "its daily roundtrip flights between Miami and Havana to 8 daily roundtrip flights." Of course, in Miami and Washington since 1959 there have always been a rich and powerful minority that will try to block any positive facet of U.S.-Cuba relations. WHY? Because from 1959 till September of 2022 negativity between the two neighboring nations has been much more profitable than positivity has been for a few already rich and powerful Cuban-Americans in Miami and in Washington.
So, American Airlines knows about the need for numerous families in Miami and Havana to visit each other. Of course, the U. S. government is obliged to pretend that anything that might add a dollar to the embargoed Cuban economy cannot be allowed. Therefore, innocent FAMILIES in both America and Cuba continue to be tormented decade-AFTER-decade-AFTER-decade!!!
And thus...this image will continue.
