Mexico Fights the U. S. Blockade of Cuba

Today -- on November 5th-2022 -- the worldwide Global News reports that only two nations in the world -- the United States and Israel -- support the U. S. Blockade of Cuba. Thus...at the United Nations this week the vote was 185-to-2 to end the six-decade-old EMBARGO. In recent years Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador has emerged as the most important international supporter of the Cuban people on the besieged island. Recently as Cuba battled such calamities as the Pandemic and massively deadly explosions/fires that destroyed the island's prime tourist hotel in Havana and the island's main energy hub in Matanzas, it was Mexico that was the first nation to come to Cuba's aid.
Now today this headline and sub-headline in The Philadelphia Inquirer reveals that President Obrador and Mexico are paying for Cuban doctors and for Cuban rocks in an effort to help the island survive the tightened economic Embargo/Blockade.
A few years ago Lulu da Silva, when he was a two-term President of Latin American superpower Brazil, was Cuba's most important supporter...even more so than Venezuela, Nicaragua, and Bolivia. But when Trump-ally Jair Bolsonaro became President of Brazil both Trump in the world superpower United States and Bolsonaro in the Latin American superpower Brazil combined to try to starkly expand the already cruel Blockade of Cuba. While Bolsonaro was Brazil's President Lulu da Silva was charged with corruption and served a long stretch in prison, but was released in time to run for President against Bolsonaro in last Sunday's election. Lulu won that election with 47.83% of the vote to Bolsonaro's 43.82%, with two other candidates getting 7.29% of the votes. Thus because Lulu didn't get 50% of the votes there will be a runoff between Lulu da Silva against Jair Bolsonaro. Indications are that Lulu will also win that runoff, which will give Cuba another massive Latin American friend.
But in November of 2022 Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador is the most important international leader that  cares the most about Cuban families that he believes are "so unfairly and so unmercifully harmed by a criminal Blockade."

Cuba Tourism Ticks UP!!!!

For over six decades the drastic U. S. economic Blockade of Cuba has drastically devastated the Cuban economy. Tourism, especially during its current winter season, is particularly important to the Caribbean's largest island nation. In this first week of November-2022 Cuba is optimistic that the winter tourism is ticking up sharply, such as indicated by more-than-expected new flights from prime Canadian airlines. Canadian tourists are vital and they have helped make Cuban beaches such as Varadero and Cayo Largo, even with the Blockade, both rated "Best Beach In The World" by international tourist polls.
Even has Cuba emerged from the Pandemic, the tightened U. S. Blockade as well as the deadly Hurricane Ian, deadly explosions that destroyed Havana's most famed tourist hotel and the island's main power plant in Matanzas have deeply added to the despair of the Cuban people. Today -- on November 4th-2022 -- national television newscasts, as shown above, were still reporting on the major reconstruction that is being done and must continue to be done.
Also today nationwide newscasts in Cuba report on the "illegal, immoral" U. S. Blockade that is making it "very hard for us to make the necessary repairs and reconstructions that the Cuban people need. And that, of course, remains the purpose of the Blockade that started long ago, in 1962."
But also today -- November 4th-2022 -- nationwide Cuban newscasts, of course, are elated that Lulu da Silva has again been elected in Brazil, which is Latin America's largest and richest nation. Lulu, in his two previous terms as President of Brazil before political foes put him in a Brazilian prison for a sizeable stretch, had been a dear friend of Fidel Castro and Cuba.
In fact, in this month of November in 2022 Cuba believes that Brazil is not the only Latin American nation moving away from the anti-Cuban grip influenced by the wealth and power of the United States. Now recent developments appear to show that nations such as Brazil, Bolivia, Chile, Peru, Honduras, Argentina, and even Colombia may be shifting to more pro-Cuban positions to join Cuba's traditional allies like Venezuela and Nicaragua.
Of course, in this first week of November-2022 the nations of the world voted overwhelmingly again in the United Nations to demand that the United States end its blockade of Cuba. With 187 nations voting this week, only the United States and Israel voted to maintain the Embargo/Blockade that started in 1962. The two abstentions that didn't vote at all were Brazil and Ukraine. It is assumed that Lulu's Brazil next year will loudly vote with the majority to end the Embargo/Blockade.
And as the nations of the world said again this week:
"Let Cuba Live!"
This is a street in Havana.

TODAY, as always, the nations of the world CONDEMNED the Embargo

Today -- on November 3rd-2022 -- the nations of the world at the United Nations in New York voted overwhelmingly to end the U. S. Embargo/Blockade against Cuba, as they do yearly!! Today the vote was a firm 185 nations that voted to end the Embargo, which Cubans call a Blockade. The only 2 nations that voted to keep it, as usual, were the United States and Israel. The only 2 nations that abstained from voting were Brazil and Ukraine.
The U. S. Embargo against Cuba has existed since 1962 -- three years after the Cuban Revolution defeated the U.S.-backed Batista dictatorship in 1959 and one year after the U. S. Bay of Pigs military attack in Cuba in 1961 failed to overthrow the revolutionary rule on the island. Since 1962 generations of Americans have been successfully programmed not to be ashamed of the worldview of the Embargo, as depicted above by the great Brazilian artist Carlos LaTuff...and as voted on today by the world at the UN.

Brazil's Lulu LOVES Cuba!!!!

The historic election in Brazil that reelected 77-year-old Lulu da Silva as the new President of Latin America's largest and richest nation has, without doubt, buoyed the spirits of Cubans in Cuba. During his previous two-terms as President of Brazil Lulu was Cuba's most important friend, using his power as Fidel Castro's dear friend to drastically help the Cuban people by doing things such as financing the ultra-modern/deep-water Muriel Port 30 miles southwest of Havana. But, alas, when he left office both he and his top aide {and successor} Delma Rousseff {who also loved Fidel} were charged with corruption that ended Delma's presidency and put Lulu in prison!! But, always beloved by the poorest Brazilians, Lulu left his imprisonment and launched a bid to unseat Brazil's right-wing/anti-Cuban President Zair Bolsonaro...and, INCREDIBLY, Lulu won on October 31st, 2022!!!!!!
The two photos shown above showing Brazilian President Zair Bolsonaro with U. S. President Donald Trump reveal why Cubans in Cuba are so elated that Fidel Castro's dear friend Lulu da Silva started out this first week of November-2022 as President of Brazil, not Bolsonaro!!! During Trump's recent 4-year-old term as U. S. President it was Trump who drastically tightened the U.S.'s already cruel six-decade-old Embargo-Blockade against Cuba, and as President of Brazil Zair Bolsonaro was Trump's prime Latin American collaborator in the attempt to torment Cubans in Cuba.
Today -- on November 2-2022 -- above are the two top Cuban headlines flashing around the world. ABC News reminds us that the shocking election in Brazil continues the trend of more-and-more Latin American countries beginning to buck the drastic U. S. sanctions against Cuba. And the Miami Herald opines that "Lula, in Brazil, will give Cuba, Venezuela, and Nicaragua respite" from the harsh U. S. policies...but that Lulu will be more cautious than he was in his first two terms as President.
Meanwhile today -- on November 2nd-2022 -- Cuban television stations, as shown above, are still gloating gleefully about Lulu's defeat of Trump's friend Zair Bolsonaro in Latin America's largest and richest nation.
Also today -- November 2nd-2022 -- Cuba's President Miguel Diaz-Canel, as shown above, used his Twitter page to emphasize Cuba's prime concern, which is the "injustice and inhumanity of the U. S. blockade against the Cuban people."
Of course, Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel is elated that his friend Lulu da Silva is once again the President of Brazil.
Now 77-years-old, and still somewhat subdued by his long prison incarceration after his first two terms as President of Brazil, the stunning news this week that Lula da Silva has just won a third term as Brazil's President in November of 2022 is enormous news for Latin America, and especially for Cuba.
This Latin American map vividly shows why Superpower Brazil -- the largest and richest Latin American nation -- is so vital to the interests of Cuba as well as to the United States and all of Latin America.
And for sure...in November of 2022 having Lula da Silva -- a supporter of Fidel Castro's Cuban Revolution -- returning for his third term as the President of Brazil is stunning news, especially with Lula ousting a Trumpian anti-Cuban Brazilian President!!

Florida Loves the Cuban Blockade BUT...!!!

...is outraged about overflow of Cubans!!!

At the start of November in 2022 television stations in Florida are outraged about the vast avalanche of Cuban migrants flooding to Florida, the same Florida television stations who have heralded the vast U. S. economic blockade against Cuba, and other calamities, since 1962...or since the Bay of Pigs military attack in 1961 failed to recapture Cuba for the Cubans who had created Little Havana in Miami after the 1959 triumph of the Cuban Revolution over the Batista dictatorship. Thus, to placate Little Havana, in 1962 the U. S. began a massive economic blockade/embargo against Cuba designed to starve, deprive, and make miserable Cubans on the island to induce them to rise up and overthrow their own revolutionary government. Well...today -- on November 1-2022 -- Florida television stations, as shown above, appear to finally BE FED UP with a vast influx of starving, deprived, and miserable Cubans in Cuba fleeing the island in droves seeking to partake in the vast riches of the Cubans in Florida. WOW!!!!!!!
And so...once again study the headline and the outraged expressions of the anchors in Florida who are finally aghast about the awesome floods of Cubans now crossing the porous U.S.-Mexican border and also crossing the dangerous sea waters in the Florida Straits that barely separates Cuba from luxurious Key West, Florida!!!
But, of course, don't expect the Florida television stations to discuss the image above that has defined the CUBAN EMBARGO to the world since 1962!!!

Cuba Remains Blockaded but plans to survive

Today -- October 31st-2022 -- Cuba announced more plans to improve its drastically blockaded economy that the U.S. Blockade continues to maintain while the U. S. also continues its vast international economic influence to make sure that other nations around the world will support or at least cowardly condone it. As of today Cuba says "more than 60 countries will attend the thirty-eighth International Fair of Havana," including hundreds of important companies from around the world.
The economic Blockade, which the U. S. calls a necessary Embargo, has existed for over six decades...since 1962...even though most nations and most people in the world remain deeply ashamed of it.
Since 1959, when the Cuban Revolution defeated the U.S.-backed Batista dictatorship, rich and powerful Cubans in Little Havana in the heart of Miami have had an extraordinary grip on the USA's Cuban policies...including the endless Blockade.
Once again this past weekend -- on October 29 & 30-2022 -- another huge protest against the Cuban blockade was held in the heart of Little Havana USA in the heart of Miami, as shown above.
In fact...this past weekend -- October 29-30 in 2022 -- the photos above show another huge anti-blockade protest was again blocking streets in New York City. Such protests are rarely reported by the U. S. media but they still are reminders that only a few people -- such as some in Little Havana USA -- support the blockade, but...OF COURSE...that appears to be enough to keep it alive for sixty years...and counting. Note the top sign in NYC this past weekend that decries the Trump-Biden administrations pleasing Little Havana USA by putting and keeping Cuba on the USA's SPONSORS OF TERRORISM LIST, which greatly helps Little Havana USA but greatly hurts the long-blockaded Cubans in Cuba.
"CUBA: It's a Target not a Terrorist."

Remembering Camilo Cienfuegos

On October 28th-1959 at the age of 27 Camilo Cienfuegos died when his small airplane crashed into the sea just off Cuba's coast during a storm. To this day he remains one of the most revered heroes of the Cuban Revolution as a top Commander.
Each week since 1959 in the last week of October children in Cuba have tossed flowers in the sea to honor Camilo Cienfuegos, as this little boy is doing today.
As shown above, in this last week of October-2022 the President of Cuba, Miguel Diaz-Canel, attended many ceremonies honoring Camilo Cienfuegos.
The death of Camilo Cienfuegos at the tender age of 27 on October 28th-1959 is still remembered sadly every day in Cuba.
During Cuba's revolutionary war from 1952 till 1959 Camilo and Che were two do-or-die co-Commanders in many key battles, including the last one -- the Battle of Santa Clara!! When dictator Batista in Havana got official word that Santa Clara had fallen to the rebels, Batista dashed to his money-stuffed/get-away airplane and flew to dictator Trujillo's sanctuary in the Dominican Republic.
