Cuba Plans to Survive Trump

Cuban People Informed Via TV!!
Born after the triumph of the Cuban Revolution that overthrew the U.S.-backed Batista-Mafia dictators on January 1, 1959, Miguel Diaz-Canel has been Cuba's President since April of 2018.
This CNN photo of President Miguel Diaz-Canel was taken a few days ago when the Cuban leader permitted international journalists from CNN, Reuters, Associated Press, etc. to travel with him as he traversed the island telling Cubans to continue resisting what he calls the Trump administration's "genocide against all of you who support this island's revolutionary-achieved sovereignty. But being recaptured by another generation of foreign criminals is not in my DNA, nor yours." Cuba's former Education Minister, Diaz-Canel has instructed his current Ministers to appear regularly on national television and radio programs "to tell the people what each of you are doing on their behalf, if anything. And remember, they  are smart, well educated, and live on this island with us so don't lie to them. That's the stupidest thing we can do."
Cuba's Minister of Domestic Trade is Betsy Diaz and she appears regularly on national television and radio to update the Cuban people about what is adversely affecting their daily lives. She said during the above session: "As a sovereign small island nation, we are susceptible, as you all well know, to whether a Democrat or Republican administration rules Washington. The Democrat President Obama did his best to be our friend but he was followed by the Republican President Trump who wants to starve and destroy us, even restricting visits and financial support from U. S. Cubans. Since his applying of Helms-Burton Title 3 against us, Trump has blocked or erased all of Obama's positives, causing some energy blackouts as well as shortages of food and other products. I am aware of how this affects you and your children as well as me and my children. I want everyone of you to know that I and other Ministers that you depend on to help you are doing everything we can during this dire situation of foreign crimination aimed at us from Miami and Washington."
Like other Ministers, Betsy Diaz often speaks to the Cuban people to let them know what Havana is doing to cope with Trump. She uses the island's state-run sophisticated radio and television News and Cultural programs...such as Mesa Redonda.
Cuban television stations often show and interview Cuban customers trying to purchase things at U.S.-embargoed stores like the one above. Like the woman at the counter above, even when they have money to buy things, there are now shortages.
The nightly primetime Mesa Redonda {Round Table} program, hosted by Randy Alonso, is the Cuban government's main source for updating the people on developments from Havana, Miami, and Washington. As above, Alonso pointedly grills top Ministers, as President Diaz-Canel suggested.
A regular on Mesa Redonda is Iset Maritza. She is the head of CIMEX, Cuba's largest commercial corporation. The Trump administration has declared total war against CIMEX in an effort to eviscerate Cuba's economy but Iset Maritza plans to not only keep it viable or perhaps expand it even with Trump in power. In this appearance Ms. Maritza reported, "We have opened about 80 dollar stores and we will open more. We will do anything that we believe will help us survive Trump. We must stay sovereign."
According to Iset Maritza, "We must remember that Trump will be the U. S. President for the next nine months, and maybe for four years beyond that. Therefore we Ministers that you depend on to help all our people against Trump and the brutal Counter Revolutionaries that control him will also need the support of everyone's perseverance."
Cuba's Economy Minister Alejandro Gil is shown above appearing on Mesa Redonda. He said, "We must manipulate our regular pesos and collectible pesos with dollarizations that will create more purchasing power for our people. Bear with us on that. It's a work in progress. With your help it will work."
Cuba's Minister of Finance and Prices is Meisi Bolanos Weiss. On Mesa Redonda she said, "Beginning on February 24th we will begin to sell cars in tradable currencies rather in convertible Cuban pesos as we continue to dollarize swathes of our retail sector."
Cuba's Finance Minister Meisi Bolanos Weiss also sternly said, "With enough honest people in Washington and enough decent and brave Cuban-Americans in Miami, the Little Havana minority would not be allowed to try to destroy us and then again dominate the Caribbean's largest and most beautiful island. But we are a small nation and when criminals run the Superpower USA we must do what we can to survive. The USA's criminal support of Batista's Mafia thugs created the Revolution that at least chased the Mafia criminals to Miami in 1959. From there we did not realize they would criminalize Washington as well as Miami. We believed the U. S. democracy was at least strong enough to prevent that."
Finance Minister Meisi Bolanos Weiss and Transportation Minister Eduardo Rodriguez Davila regularly update Cubans on progress related to transportation around the island despite the awesome restrictions of "Trump's blockade."
Transportation Minister Eduardo Rodriguez often talks about "what friendly future Obama-like relations would mean to us in Cuba and to the Cuban business people and others in the United States who want so badly to do commerce with us. Russia, China, Vietnam, and Japan are helping us modernize are railway and bus highway transportation, for example.  America was a false democracy when it allowed the Mafia to brutalize Cuba prior to the Revolution and it is a false democracy now that Trump replaced Obama in the White House. Our only alternative is to struggle and resist when criminals in Miami and in Washington target us. Waiting and hoping for decency from the Superpower that is so close to us is not something we can count on. But even with the U. S. has the economy and military power to block both our imports and exports, we still have to fight back to improve our lives, including our economy."
This Reuters photo shows vintage American cars, now due to be sold, lined up along Havana's famed Malecon Seawall. They are shown directly across from the 7-story U. S. Embassy that Obama reopened for the first time in six decades but that Trump has since totally gutted. Now Cuba's Ministers claim that the U. S. Embassy in Havana "only exists to fund and train dissidents to destroy honest and meaningful U.S.-Cuban relations."
Including the vintage, finely-tuned American cars from the 1950s, Cuba also now has many brand-new Russian-made Lada cars that can be hopefully sold beginning on February 24th, 2020, via a new currency revision.
But, as noted by the words of Cuban Ministers speaking on Mesa Redonda, Cubans on the island are abundantly aware of the "indecency" of President Trump that has followed the "decency" of President Obama. And to combat Trump, Cuba is trying to do all it can.
This photo reminds Cubans of the day in 2016, his last year in office, that President Obama flew on Air Force One to Havana's Jose Marti Airport. This was the U. S. limousine, bearing U. S. and Cuban flags, that took Obama to visit the Cuban people...the first U. S. President to do so since Herbert Hoover arrived on a warship in 1928 to remind Cubans that America was the dominant power on the island and had been the ruler since the 1898 Spanish-American War. And from 1898 till 1959 the U. S. had been able to do things such as...steal Guantanamo Bay from Cuba in 1903, team with the Mafia in 1952 to allow rich businessmen to better partake in plundering, brutalizing, and ransacking the island at will, etc., etc. -- at least till the Cuban Revolution intervened in January, 1959.
On Cuban television President Obama brought tears to the eyes of millions of Cubans when he said: "Cuba does not need to fear a threat from the United States." But, of course, in 2016 neither President Obama nor the Cuban people thought that the next U. S. President in 2017 would be Donald Trump, another Republican totally aligned economically and politically with the Counter Revolutionary Cubans who have ruled Republican administrations in Washington since January of 1959, shattering America's once-renowned reputation for decency and democracy.
An America in 2020 that allows the likes of Marco Rubio, Mauricio Claver-Carone, and Mario Diaz-Balart to dictate America's Cuban policy is as shameful of America was in the 1950s when it allowed Mafia thugs like Fulgencio Batista, Lucky Luciano, and Meyer Lansky to dictate Cuban policy.
1950's Luciano, Lansky, & Batista.
Today's Claver-Carone, Rubio, & Diaz-Balart.

U.S. Cubans Punish Everyone

Including A Spanish Billionaire!!
As long as President Donald Trump is in the U. S. White House, a handful of extremist Cuban-American zealots -- Claver-Carone, Rubio, Diaz-Balart, etc. -- can punish anyone anywhere in the world that might have the temerity to do business with Cuba. That includes Gabriel Escarrer, the billionaire who is the CEO of Melia Hotels International. In a blitzing and genocidal effort to destroy Revolutionary Cuba, the Trump administration sent a letter back in October to Escarrer giving him 45 days to comply with the Claver-Carone/Rubio/Diaz-Balart rules as stipulated in the newly activated Title 3/Helms-Burton regulations that are designed to vastly enrich certain Cuban-Americans in Miami's federal courts and secondarily to grossly starve and deprive everyday Cubans on the island. Escarrer's 45 days are now up and, among other things, he is now barred from entering the United States...yes, the "democratic" United States of America that now has Cuban dictators such as Claver-Carone, Rubio, and Diaz-Balart, not so unlike U.S.-backed dictators in Cuba back in the 1950s such as Batista, Luciano, and Lansky.
Neither the mainstream U. S. media nor everyday Americans are supposed to object about decent people like Gabriel Escarrer being barred from entering the United States if Claver-Carone, Rubio, and Diaz-Balart dictate that Gabriel Escarrer is doing "illegal" business in Cuba.
From one end of Cuba to the other, from Melia Cohiba in Havana to Melia Santiago in Santiago de Cuba, Melia Hotels International has 39 magnificent hotels on the Caribbean's largest and most beautiful island. But the United States, to appease and to enrich a handful of Counter Revolutionary zealots, uses its unequaled financial and military power to keep tourists from using those splendid hotel rooms in Cuba.
This is Melia Varadero in Varadero, Cuba.
Melia Santiago in Santiago de Cuba.
Three Cuban dictators on U. S. soil -- Mauricio Claver-Carone, Marco Rubio, and Mario Diaz-Balart -- today seem to believe that they can dictate to Cuba just as lucratively and brutally as MafiA KINGPINS Batista, Luciano, and  Lansky did in the 1950s with U. S. support!!! Now even IF 330 million Americans and Cuban-Americans disagree, no problem; and if the world votes unanimously in the UN {as it has done 191-to-0} to oppose such hubris, no problems. Since 1898 when the U. S. replaced Spain as the imperative dictator of Cuba, the U. S. has never had a democratic thought regarding Cuba, instead just viewing it as a capitalistic piggy-bank. Unfortunately, after the Cuban Revolution in January of 1959 chased the Batista-Luciano-Lansky dictators from Havana to their new sanctuary of Little Havana in nearby Miami, the Cuban-government-in-exile has existed  as LUCRATIVELY and BRUTALLY on U. S. soil in the fashion the BATISTA-LUCIANO-LANSKY dictators did on Cuban soil prior to the 1959 Cuban Revolution.
Of course, in 2020 the United States will not apologize for its current Claver-Carone/Rubio/Diaz-Balart trio just as it will  never apologize for the U.S.-backed Mafiosi trio of Lucky Luciano, Meyer Lansky, and Fulgencio Batista that ransacked and brutalized Cuba in the 1950's...with rich U.S. businessmen very famously going along on the lucrative ride.
Truth be known, THE MIAMI CUBAN MAFIA since 1959 has been a lot more lucrative and just as brutal as THE HAVANA CUBAN MAFIA was in the 1950's...AGAIN with rich U. S. businessmen going along for the ride.
Thus, if by chance you read this week that one of the world's most decent billionaires, Gabriel Escarrer, is now barred from entering the United States, I believe that Americans should know why. I say that, please understand, while not suggesting that Americans should object, considering that it might be wise, or un-healthy, to do so. AFTER ALL, as Gabriel Escarrer and a lot of other decent people know, the blockade of Cuba is embedded in the soul of the U. S. democracy like an incurable cancer.
If vivid images that shame America and Democracy don't shame Americans, the red-eyed and claw-fingered United States might well soon be as problematic as Cuba itself is today.

little Cuba and BIG CUBA

Why It Punches Above Its Size!!
The AFP/Getty Images photo above reminds us that TODAY IN LATIN AMERICA -- on January 5th, 2020 -- and in the world that little Cuba continues to punch way above its size on the internationally stage. The Cuban Revolution's 1959 win over the U.S.-backed Batista-Mafia dictatorship AND then surviving six decades of relentless U. S. efforts to recapture the island has created that unique Cuban reputation. Juan Guaido is shown above being introduced last night at President Trump's State of the Union speech in the United States Congress. Guaido is Trump's fervent pick as the President of Venezuela in the ongoing coup attempt designed to replace another Cuba ally, Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, with another U.S.-friendly leader. Back in January of 2019 it was believed Guaido would eminently overthrow the embattled Maduro within hours because Trump desired Florida's crucial 29 Electoral Votes and Guaido's presidency in Venezuela was/is one of Trump's payoffs to Cuban Counter Revolutionaries in Miami and in Congress for their gifts to him of those precious 29 Electoral Votes in Florida.
Cuba is one of the island nations in the Caribbean Sea that includes the U. S. Territory of Puerto Rico and many other small nations that can apparently expect lush financial gifts or other incentives  from the United States if they help the United States re-DOMINATE Cuba. On the periphery of the Caribbean Sea are larger Latin American nations such as powerhouse Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, etc. -- and even long-time Cuban ally Bolivia, which recently had a coup that put a anti-Cuba/U.S.-friendly government in place -- suddenly growing the list of anti-Cuban USA allies. Near the bottom of the above map you can see Cuban allies Nicaragua and Venezuela, both of whom are facing massive pressure and dire threats from Washington and Miami to join the anti-Cuban U. S. contingency.
As a small and peaceful nation Cuba should not have been even mentioned in President Trump's State of the Union speech last night that was carried live on all major U. S. television stations and networks. But Trump, whose Cuban policy is totally dictated by anti-Cuban extremists, included in his speech this exact statement: "As we restore American leadership throughout the world, we are once again standing up for freedom in our hemisphere. That is why my administration revised the failing policies of the previous administration on Cuba." And then Trump went on to declare that he will be "increasing sanctions aimed at their political, economical and military leaders in Cuba, Venezuela, and Nicaragua." Of course, the pusillanimous, intimidated, and propagandized American people, including the left-wingers who vehemently hate Trump, are supposed to accept those words although everyone knows such sanctions by the Superpower against a tiny nation mostly hurt, deprive, and harm totally innocent people in perpetually targeted Cuba.
The extreme cowardice of Americans regarding Cuban extremists, including the left-wing Trump haters, meekly means acceptance of Trump's Quid Pro Quo activation of Title III that clearly legalizes genocide against totally Cuban men, women, and children on the island to appease a handful of greedy, spiteful, rich, and powerful Cuban-American Counter Revolutionaries. {Not even the George W. Bush presidency, which was totally aligned with the Cuban extremists in Miami, would activate Title III because even Bush considered it to be too genocidal}.
Senator Marco Rubio and President Donald Trump verily hate each other but they shook hands on their self-serving crusade to re-capture Cuba. Rubio, of course, represents Cuban extremists in the Little Havana area of Miami while Trump believes that Little Havana can and will deliver to him Florida's crucial 29 Electoral Votes in 2020's presidential election.
Once Trump anointed Rubio as America's latest Cuban dictator ala Batista, Rubio has been allowed to install ONLY anti-Cuban zealots such as Mauricio Claver-Carone into positions dictating America's Cuban and Latin American policies. The viciously anti-Cuban Claver-Carone, with Rubio's support, is currently directing the genocidal actions against Cuba such as Title III-Helms-Burton.
Most Americans, of course, have never heard of Mauricio Claver-Carone. But in their names, Claver-Carone has the omnipotent power of the U. S. treasury and the U. S. military to employ whatever he chooses to finally bring Revolutionary Cuba to its knees. And it is apparent that Claver-Carone knows his window to do so is prior to November of 2020 because he doesn't want to await Trump's possible re-election that would give Claver-Carone four more years in which to re-capture Cuba.
Almost totally Unknown to the American people, for the past two decades Mauricio Claver-Carone, shown wearing the red tie above, has labored tenaciously in Washington to defeat Revolutionary Cuba. His prime job has been to solicit extreme gobs of financial bundles to promote his anti-Cuban endeavors, with many millions of those dollars used to buy-up support in the U. S. Congress.
In America's democracy, Cuba's total uniqueness means that just three self-serving anti-Cuban zealots like Mauricio Claver-Carone, Marco Rubio, and Mario Diaz-Balart can totally dictate America's Cuban policies, especially when a Republican happens to be President. Americans have been proselytized, propagandized, and intimidated to believe that this is an acceptable element of their democracy. And that's why I believe that Cuba says a lot more about the United States than it says about Cuba.
Republican Presidents dictated for over six decades by two generations of Attack Brigade 2506 Cuban extremists in Little Havana shame America and Democracy. And from the BAY OF PIGS attack in April of 1961 till Trump's STATE OF THE UNION speech on February 4th, 2020, the U. S. democracy has not been able to do anything about it.
Last night the Democratic leader in the U. S. Congress, Nancy Pelosi, famously and emphatically tore up Trump's State of the Union speech to let the whole world know how much she viciously hates Trump. Yet, not even Nancy Pelosi has the courage to criticize Trump for his QUID PRO QUO Title III genocide against innocent Cubans. That fact and that photo above is JUST ONE MORE REMINDER of little Cuba's mammothly big impact on the mighty United States democracy.

A SUPER Cuban Article

How About That!!!
Back on September 15th, 1982, the great visionary Al Neuharth founded USA Today. Since 1982 I have subscribed to every home-delivered issue of Al Neuharth's invention, and my friends still often say that I "don't know anything unless I just read it in USA Today." Indeed, I can't remember a day since 1982 that I haven't clipped, saved, and studied my favorite USA Today articles.
Today USA Today is America's most-read and, I think, America's most important newspaper, especially now that both the NY Times and the Washington Post have evolved into extreme left-wing propaganda machines. Alan Gomez is USA Today's Miami-based journalist specializing in Cuban and immigration news. This is Super Bowl Sunday in America and the world. The Friday-Saturday-Sunday edition of USA Today is its largest and most-read issue each week, and on this first weekend of February-2020 -- Super Bowl weekend -- the LARGEST article was penned by Alan Gomez and it started on the very First Page of the very First Section of the Four Sections. Yes, Miami is the site for this year's Super Bowl and this is the 11th time Miami has been the host, a record. But Alan Gomez's high-profile article is not really about Miami or the Super BowlNot at all. It's about Little Havana, which is what Miami has become and been called since January of 1959 when the Cuban Revolution astounded the world by booting the U.S.-backed Batista-Mafia dictatorship out of Havana -- all the way to nearby Miami. The Front Page article blared out from this weekend's USA Today screams out this bold-faced headline: "LITTLE HAVANA'S BIG EXODUS" and right there on the Front Page are two photos to illustrate the mammoth article. Even on Super Bowl Weekend the article about LITTLE HAVANA deserves to be the largest and most important article in America's largest and most important newspaper, USA Today. That's because since 1959 LITTLE HAVANA has emerged as the capital of America's second government, the headquarters for the exiled Batistiano-Mafiosi government even though it doesn't necessarily represent even most of the Cuban-Americans in Southern Florida, just like Batista and the Mafia didn't represent most of the Cubans on the island during the 1950's. But surely the Batista-Mafia leaders who fled Havana in the wee hours of January 1, 1959, had more than enough money and enough firepower to take over Miami financially and politically, which has been the case since 1959 because, despite help from the U. S. government, they amazingly HAVE YET to re-capture Havana. Therefore, through it all, LITTLE HAVANA has drastically changed Cuba but it has drastically changed the United States even more!! Therefore Alan Gomez's huge article about LITTLE HAVANA that started on the Front Page of USA Today even on Super Bowl Weekend is extremely appropriate. Thus, I hope you read, clip, and study the whole article...because it reveals how much LITTLE HAVANA, the capital of the government deep within the bowels of the U. S. government is itself changing and quickly becoming mostly non-Cuban.
As someone who has been to both Havana and Little Havana, and studied both for thirty years, I, of course, found the major USA Today article on Super Bowl Weekend to be nicely written and expertly researched by Alan Gomez, rending it verily both informative and intriguing. Americans, I believe, need to know about "Little Havana USA." USA Today's Alan Gomez tells us, for example, that Little Havana is drastically changing. One of the Front Page photos shows Cuban native Rodolfo Amaro Beltran inspecting handmade cigars at Casa del Tabaco, a store in Little Havana. Alan Gomez writes this explanation:
"Inside Casa del Tabaco, native Cubans spend their days rolling the cigars that have become as synonymous with the Cuban experience as rum, baseball, and salsa dancing. The tobacco leaves used to roll those iconic stogies hold a secret. The seeds are from Cuba, but the plants are grown in Nicaragua, Ecuador and the Dominican Republic. The store itself has another surprise. Its owner, Rene Diaz, isn't Cuban. He's from Chili.
"That same dichotomy plays out on a larger scale throughout Little Havana.
"Little Havana isn't even majority Cuban anymore. Officials estimate that the neighborhood of 60,000 is only a third Cuban."
Yes, Little Havana USA has drastically changed both Cuba and America since 1959. Alan Gomez's major article in USA Today this SUPER BOWL WEEKEND is important because it tells us that Little Havana USA is drastically changing from being predominantly Cuban to what Alan Gomez says is a vast "hodgepodge" of immigrants from a multitude of other Caribbean and Latin American countries. Of course, rich Cubans still dominate the politics of Little Havana, Miami, and Florida...as well as Washington and America when it comes to Cuban policies and Cuban narratives...but, after 6+ decades, Alan Gomez suggests that the omnipotent and unchecked Little Havana power may be wilting a bit.
And, uh, BY THE WAY:
The very same day that Alan Gomez's aforementioned article was published, the photo above was posted on Facebook by a young-adult Cuban who loves Havana but is not...uh, shall we say...very fond of Little Havana. That's why she spotlighted her beloved Havana in the background of this photo. Her Facebook comment explained this photo with this sentence: "When Havana is in the background, it invites this photo." On Super Bowl Sunday I believe that many Americans are wondering why Little Havana, after all these decades, hasn't re-captured Havana yet??? After all, Little Havana for all these decades has been supported by the largest treasury in the world, America's, and by the strongest military in the world, America's. Well, I think this photo helps to answer that age-old question. This young-adult on the island, like a strong majority of her generation and the generation that preceded hers, strongly supports Revolutionary Cuba. And by the same token, they strongly do not want a return of the Batistianos and Mafiosi from Little Havana...even if it means there would be Walmarts, McDonald's, and Macy's saturating the island and replacing the embargo/blockade that has existed since 1962. And...if that reality on the island was not so, Little Havana would surely have re-captured Havana decades ago.
