U. S. Lies Hurt Cuban Mothers & Grandmothers

 a
Today -- on October 4th, 2023 -- one of the sweetest grandmothers in this world posted this photo on Facebook with a caption that started with these two words: "Triste dias." That means "Sad days." To translate her whole capiton from Spanish to English, it said: "Sad days, but resilient nature gives us life. Flowers from my garden." If you happen to care about this sweet grandmother and her photo, I can tell you that I know her VERY well. Her name is Carmen. She has lived in Cuba all of her life and that yellow flower today that gave her some hope, boosting her...resiliency. You see, in case you might care about her, she has lived all of her life targeted by the U. S. Embargo that was legalized in 1962 for the purpose of starving her, depriving her, and making her miserable...for the purpose of turning her against her revolutionary government. But she hasn't done that. She remembers the extreme brutality of the U.S./Mafia-backed Batista dictatorship that ruled Cuba ruthlessly back in the 1950s until the victory by the Cuban Revolution on January 1st of 1959. On her vulnerable island-nation that is just a few miles from Florida, Carmen has managed to live a productive  and decent life as a wife, mother, and grandmother. Knowing Carmen, and seeing her photo and her "Sad days" comment today on Facebook, it pains me to know that she has faced extreme hardship all of her life because of the U. S. Embargo...all the while being labled a "mean" person by the "nice" people in the United States who have supported or condoned the Embargo against her for her entire life. That yellow flower in Carmen's garden in Havana today reminds me that she is a far better human being and a far nicer person than any American who has targeted her with the brutal and cruel Embargo that began way back in 1962 and Carmen is finding out that in October of 2023 it is more cruel and more harsh than ever!!!
Just for the record, in case you might care, above are Carmen's two grandchildren. She loves them passionately and every day of their lives she has tried to care for them and protect them as best she can. And every day -- including today on October 4th-2023 when she saw that yellow flower bloom in her garden -- Carmen knows that up to 330 milion uncaring Americans who allow the Embargo to continue decade after decade are dire enemies of her two precious grandchildren. When rich people in a powerful nation target generations of children in a much-weaker nation decade after decade, something is wrong...and it is not these two grandchildren who are WRONG!!!!
I Believe this is WRONG!!
