Cuba and US Relations in October-2023

Today is October 12th-2023 and, as indicated above, Revolutionary Cuba since January of 1959 is still obsessed with its three most memorable heroes -- Che Guevara, Jose Marti, and, especially, Fidel Castro. But the images below reveal the basic fact that, in October-2023, Revolutionary Cuba is also primarily obsessed with its relations with its northern neighbor, the superpower United States...especially the economic Embargo that the United States has imposed on the island for the past six decades.
Revolutionary Cuba in October of 2023 is most frustrated that the U. S. has maintained the Embargo/Blockade of Cuba for six decades despite the fact that most of the rest of the world strongly comdemns it.
Also in October of 2023 Cubans in Revolutionary Cuba are frustrated that the two last U. S. administrations -- Trump's and Biden's -- have tightened the Embargo/Blockade against the island by putting Cuba on the very short U. S. List of Nations That Sponsor Terror. Meanwhile, Cubans in Revolutionary Cuba in October of 2023 don't believe that Cuba is a terrorist nation but they well remember being victims of numerous terrorist actions, such as the downing of the civilian Cubana Flight 455 in October of 1976 that killed all on board.
And, meanwhile, in October of 2023 Cubans in Revolutionary Cuba are being reminded daily that their government is trying desperately to obtain foreign help in trying to survive the ongoing economic crisis that they believe is mostly caused by the endless U. S. Embargo/Blockade of the island. The photo above shows Cuba's longtime Trade Minister Ricardo Cabrisas on a 4-day visit to Saudi Arabia in October of 2023 seeking trade and/or financial help from that faraway but ultra-rich nation.
But in October of 2023 Cubans in Revolutionary Cuba also study maps such as the one above and wonder why they are the only ones in the Greater Antilles and the Caribbean Sea that are being starved by the United States, a process that has existed for the past six decades.

Cuba's Survival Plans In October-2023

Today -- on October 9th-2023 -- baseball-loving Cubans had something to celebrate. In the 5th Caribbean Cup played in Puerto Rico, Cuba beat Curacoa 3-to-2 in the Championship game, giving Cuba the trophy!! Cuba had to ask the United States for permission to participate in the event because Puerto Rico is a U. S. Territory, but the Cuban players were given visas by the U. S. government.
Meanwhile on October 9th-2023 the respected OnCuba News, which has offices in both Miami and Havana, above reported on massive efforts in Miami and Washington "To crush investiment in Cuba" as the six-decade-old U. S. economic Embargo against Cuba has been tightened and thus is creating blackouts and some hunger.

And, meanwhile, on October 9th-2023 the two photos above reveal one of the massive efforts that Cuba is involved in to improve the island's economy by getting investments from nations that might not be afraid of defying the international tenets of the U. S. Embargo. The photos above show Cuba's longtime Vice Minister Ricardo Cabrisas, Cuba's prime Trade Minister, being warmly greeted in Saudi Arabia on a crucial 4-day visit that has taken place from October 6th till October 9th, 2023. Also today -- on October 9th-2023 -- in Latin America support for Cuba in fighting the U. S. Embargo is now considered unanimous with Bolivia, Brazil, and Colombia having governments that are pro-Cuba, a stark change from recent years when Bolivia, Colombia, and Brazil -- at the same time -- had anti-Cuban governments that supported the U. S. policies against Cuba, including the cruel economic Embargo.

And today -- on October 9th-2023 -- Cubans across the island are celebrating the life of Che Guevara, a life that began in Rosario, Argentina on June 14th in 1928 and ended in La Higuera, Bolivia on October 9th-1967.
Today there are many memorials in Cuba that honor Che Guevara's massive role in helping the Cuban Revolution defeat the U.S./Mafia-backed Batista dictatorship on January 1st of 1959. The memorial shown above is in Santa Clara, the Cuban city where the brilliance of Commander Che Guevara won the Battle of Santa Clara, the battle that convinced Dictator Batista to rush to his getaway airplane to finally leave Cuba forever.
And so...on October 9th-2023 -- Revolutionary Cuba remains the most defiant and largest island nation in the Greater Antilles and in the Caribbean Sea. In 1492 the Italian explorer Columbus, who was working for Spain, wrote in his diary that Cuba "is the most beautiful land these eyes have ever seen." After that depiction circled around the globe, the "beautiful land" that became Cuba has been violently coveted by many imperative nations, especially Spain that lost its lucrative domination of Cuba in 1898 when the emerging imperative power, the United States, easily won the Spanish-American War fought in Cuba.
And so...since 1492 {Columbus}, and especially since 1898 {Spanish-American War}, and especially since 1959 {Cuban Revolution}, the island of Cuba has been forced to punch far above its size to try to maintain its status as a nation free of foreign domination. The historic dates and facts referenced above attest to that fact!!
And also...study the historic quotes above to comprehend the fervent desires of the United States to want to control Cuba, beginning with the two top quotations from Thomas Jefferson, the man who wrote the U. S. Declaration of Independence that freed the United States from being dominated by England. Thomas Jefferson said: "If we seize Cuba we will be masters of the Caribbean" and "I candidly confess that I have ever looked on Cuba as the most interesting addition which could be made to our system of states." Indeed, despite the proposals from Thomas Jefferson and countless other notables, nearby Cuba has never become a U. S. state but far away Hawaii and far away Alaska have become the last two of the 50 states that now comprise the United States. And...neither Hawaii nor Alaska shared a love of things such as baseball with the United States!!

Terror, not just the Blockade, Targets Cuba

Today is October 6th of 2023. On October 6th of 1976 this civilian Cuban airplane -Cubana Flight 455 was bombed out of the sky by a terrorist bomb, killing all 73 people aboard. Today 11.2 million Cubans are remembering that day.
History registers the fact that Cubana Flight 455 was returning to Cuba before it was bombed into the ocean near Barbados. The photo above shows a sister and mother that was waiting at the airport for their brother and son to return on Cubana Flight 455; he was one of the two dozen teenage athletes returning home after winning Gold Medals in the Central American Sports Tournament in Caracas. The photo above shows the moment on October 6-1976 that this sister and mother learned that Cubana Flight 455 had crashed into the ocean and that "there are no survivors."
Every October 6th since 1976 Cubans on the island have had ceremonies across their island mourning the 73 souls that died on Cubana Flight 455. Of course, that mother and sister, for the rest of their lives, were among the mourners.
In the sad days after October 6th-1976 the Cuban people were told by Fidel Castro that Cuba's meticulous investigation of the Cubana Flight 455 crash revealed that Miami-based Cuban terrorists were responsible for the terror bomb that doomed Cubana Flight 455. Later...declassified U. S. documents revealed that the United States also was well aware that Fidel Castro was correct.
Yes, by the time Fidel Castro was telling the Cuban people what had happened to Cubana Flight 455, and he had put up memorials to the victims such as the one above, the United States had the same information that Fidel Castro had.
For example, the de-classified U. S. document shown above shows that President G. H. W. Bush's Secretary of State Henry Kissinger was informed by U. S. intelligence that Luis Posada Carriles and other Cubans had roles in "the bombing of the Cubana Airlines DC-8..."
Of course, today -- on October 6-2023 -- as Cubans in Cuba mourn the 73 victims on Cubana Flight 455 who died on October 6-1976 -- they are also reminded that those who Fidel Castro and Henry Kissenger, etc., believed were responsible continued to live out their lives as celebrated heroes in Miami.
Also today -- on October 6-2023, the anniversary of the October 6th-1976 bombing of Cubana Flight 455 -- Cubans are reminded that the terrorist bombings of Revolutionary Cuba began almost as soon as the Cuban Revolution ousted the U.S./Mafia-backed Batista dictatorship in 1959. History, for example, knows that the French ship La Coubre was bombed in Havana on March 4th-1960 and that Havana's finest department store El Encanto was bombed into oblivion on April 13-1961...etc., etc. Like Cubana Flight 455, La Cubre, El Encanto, etc., are historic names but, of course, Americans are not supposed to make a Google search of such names, or on October 6th-2023 Americans should not ask WHY the United States has Cuba on its List of Nations that SPONSOR TERRORISM!!
But today -- on October 6-2023 -- Cubans are remembering what happend to Cubana Flight 455 on October 6-1976.

Starving Cubans & Shaming USA for Six+ Decades

Is U. S. media Most to Blame??

Since February of 1962 the superpower United States has imposed an economic EMBARGO on the nearby island of Cuba that has been designed to starve Cubans in Cuba to benefit or please a few Cubans in the U. S, mainly those in the Little Havana section of Miami. From 1962 till October of 2023 it is well known that almost every person and almost every nation in the world opposes the extreme cruelty of the EMBARGO, but yet it has existed for over six decades with no end in sight. The U. S. media is the main culprit for the EMBARGO's astonishing longevity, I believe. Almost every one of the mainstream media outlets in the United States, such as NBC News and its Miami-based Carmen Sesin, view the EMBARGO only from the perspectives of Little Havana in Miami, ignoring the views of the masses and generations of Cubans in Cuba who have suffered so severely from IT since 1962.
Above are the Main Cuban Headlines flashing around the U. S. and the world today -- October 5th, 2023. Note that yet another building in Havava has simply "collapsed, killing 3 people." Such headlines are common, which the world understands is at least partially because of the U. S. EMBARGO. Also note Above that NBC News and Carmen Sesin has a huge Cuban Headline on October 5th-2023, and as usual it shows the mainstream U. S. media promoting the EMBARGO while claiming that Little Havana/Miami Cubans are actually trying to HELP the starving Cubans in Cuba.
WOW!! Today -- October 5th-2023 -- NBC News and Carmen Sesin informs us: "As Cuba's private sector grows, entrepreneurs get a warm welcome in Miami." WOW!!
Above are the first four paragraphs from the NBC News/Carmen Sesin article on October 5th-2023. It suggests that Miami Cubans are trying to help Cubans in Cuba. Of course, the starving Cuban in Cuba believe that the way for Cubans in Miami to help them is to simply tell the U. S. goverment to end the EMBARGO!!
Above you can see three more paragraphs from that huge NBC News/Carmen Sesin article on October 5th. The words and sentences, as usual, are propaganda that are cloaked in wonderful platitudes for the Cubans in Little Havana/Miami but not a word about what the EMBARGO is doing to Cubans in Cuba.
When the Mainstream U. S. Media continues to refuse to report on why the rest of the world that doesn't reside in Little Havana/Miami demands the end of the EMBARGO, then the EMBARGO might continue for another 60+ Years or so.
