EMBARGO: Criminal, Crazy, and Endless

 So...WHY is it so Endless?

Today -- on November 14th-2022 - - Dan Burgis penned the Top Cuban Article that is circulating around the world and this is the headline: "WHY HAVEN'T WE ENDED THE CUBA EMBARGO ALREADY?" As a top reporter for the Houston Chronicle, Fort Worth Star-Telegram, Daily Beast, etc., Dan Burgis today asked the question that most U. S. journalists are too afraid to ask although it surely is one that needs to be asked!!!!

Above are the top four Cuban Headlines today and this is the top headline: "Why the Hell Haven't We Ended the Cuba Embargo Already?" The stark pertinence of this question on November 14th-2022 is starkly apparent to everyone except the most ignorant and the most cowardly people on the planet...as Dan Burgis explained today. Of course, since 1962 the U. S. Embargo of Cuba has existed for all these decades simply because it enriches and/or empowers a handful of rich and politically powerful Cuban-Americans in Little Havana/Miami and in the U. S. Congress. Below, is the start of the scathingly honest and brave article today by Dan Burgis:

As revealed above, when the entire world -- year after year -- pleads for the United States to end its Embargo against the innocent but vulnerable population of Cuba, Americans need to ask why in the hell it is allowed to continue endlessly even although the rest of the world considers it shameful genocide against the people in a much-smaller, nearby nation.
"Why the Hell Haven't We Ended the Cuba Embargo Already?" For generations now the American people have simply been too cowardly to ask that question. But today -- November 14th-2022 -- a brave journalist did ask it!!!

A DIRE Medical Situation in Cuba

In Cuba one of the most renowned medical authorities is Dr. Tania Margarita Cruz. She confirms that there is a dire medical problem on the beleaguered island: TOO MANY BABIES ARE DYING!!
Quoting Dr. Margarita Cruz, the first paragraph above reveals in an On Cuba article that the "infant immortality rate" is higher than it has been in decades with "7.6 per 1,000 live births" in 2021 and that "In 2022 the numbers are not encouraging. After the first 10 months of the year, the country registers a rate of 7.4. The information was offered by Dr. Tania Margarita Cruz."
Meanwhile...the Houston Chronicle used the photo shown above to illustrate a headline that said: "Cubans Arrive At The Border In Record Numbers."
In this second week of November-2022 the Associated Press, as shown above, reports: "Nearly 221,000 Cubans were encountered by migration enforcement on the U.S.-Mexico border in fiscal year 2022. That was a 471% increase from the year before according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection data."
In other words...on November 11th of 2022 news sources in both Cuba and the United States all seem to be agreeing on one basic fact: Finally, the USA's economic embargo against Cuba, which began in 1962, IS WORKING!!!!!

Cuba After US's Nov. 8th Election

The November 8th-2022 midterm U. S. elections revealed the well--known sharp divide in the USA's two-party political system. But the last two U. S. Presidents -- the Republican Donald Trump and the Democrat Joe Biden have both agreed to sharply expand the six-decade-old U. S. economic Embargo-Blockade of Cuba to appease the rich and politically powerful Cuban-Americans in Miami and in Congress. The mainstream U. S. media has relinquished its courage and integrity when it comes to producing unbiased reports regarding Cuba but today -- on November 9th-2022 -- the best worldwide article related to U.S.-Cuba Relations was sent around the world by a renowned Travel Writer & Author.
The famed UK Travel Writer-Author Simon Calder is published around the world by the London-based The Independent and many other forums. His article after the November 9th U. S. election was about the Trump-Biden torment of Cuban families, specifically pinpointing one of Trump's cruelest attacks that his successor Biden inherited and has yet to overturn -- putting Cuba on the U. S. Sponsors of Terrorism list that had only previously included North Korea, Iran, and Syria. While, of course, the mainstream media in the U. S. doesn't have the courage to report such things regarding Cuba, today Simon Calder does have both the courage and talent to do so, as shown below:
Simon Calder's first paragraph on November 9th-2022: "President Trump's final act against Cuba was to place the island on Washington's list of 'state sponsors of terrorism {SST}'. His successor, Joe Biden, has left the designation in place." While the cruel designation direly adds to the already dire effects of the ageless Embargo-Blockade against Cubans on the island, it greatly appeases and empowers Cubans in Miami and in Congress. In the second and third paragraphs above by Simon Calder, he points out that the 143 Counter Revolutionary sanctions against Cuba, such as adding Cuba to the USA's Sponsors of Terrorism list, also harms the freedoms of other nations...such as ENGLAND!!!
Back on January 11, 2021 two journalists {see above} for NBC News reported that "The Trump administration declared Cuba a state sponsor of terrorism on Monday, the latest in a series of actions aimed at undoing the Obama-era legacy of opening U. S. relations with the island nation just weeks before President-elect Joe Biden takes office." Since the above article, there has been scant reporting by the U. S. media regarding the continuing barrage of assaults on Cubans in Cuba by the island's Superpower northern neighbor.

The Cuba Headlines on NOVEMBER 8TH-2022

Today -- November 8th-2022 -- is a vital Election Day in the United States. Meanwhile, today the Cuban headlines flashing around the world resemble the Cuban headlines that have existed since 1962, which was the year the world trembled for 14 days in October during the Cuban Missile Crisis and 1962 was also the year the superpower United States imposed a cruel economic Cuban Blockade, which has continued during the past six decades {and counting} as the world's longest and cruelest economic embargo ever imposed by any powerful nation against any much-smaller nation.

And now today -- on November 8th-2022 -- above are the top four Cuban Headlines flashing around the world, proving that the genocidal U. S. embargo against Cuba remains...after all these decades...the prime topic related to US-Cuba Relations today. As you can see above, the top Cuban story today is from Newsweek and it was written by Tom O'Connor, its top Senior Foreign Policy Writer.
Above is what Newsweek's Tom O'Connor told the world about the U. S. trade embargo against Cuba that has existed since 1962 and, as Newsweek reports, the last two U. S. presidential administrations -- meaning both Republican Trump and Democrat Biden -- have "went on to toughen the effective economic blockade against Cuba."
And meanwhile, as Newsweek and all the top news sources in the world know, each year the nations of the world at the United Nations in New York vote to condemn the U. S. trade blockade on Cuba, although the superpower United States shamefully ignores that stark world opinion. A few days ago -- just prior to today's November 8th-2022 election in the United States -- you can see above the nations of the world that just voted 185-to-2 to beg the U. S. to end the embargo-blockade against Cuba, with only the U. S. and Israel, as usual, voting to maintain it. Somehow...unlike in the past six decades...perhaps in some future year the United States might consider the near-unanimity of world opinion before, year after year, continuing what most people believe is a cruel embargo/blockade against families in Cuba.

Mexico Fights the U. S. Blockade of Cuba

Today -- on November 5th-2022 -- the worldwide Global News reports that only two nations in the world -- the United States and Israel -- support the U. S. Blockade of Cuba. Thus...at the United Nations this week the vote was 185-to-2 to end the six-decade-old EMBARGO. In recent years Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador has emerged as the most important international supporter of the Cuban people on the besieged island. Recently as Cuba battled such calamities as the Pandemic and massively deadly explosions/fires that destroyed the island's prime tourist hotel in Havana and the island's main energy hub in Matanzas, it was Mexico that was the first nation to come to Cuba's aid.
Now today this headline and sub-headline in The Philadelphia Inquirer reveals that President Obrador and Mexico are paying for Cuban doctors and for Cuban rocks in an effort to help the island survive the tightened economic Embargo/Blockade.
A few years ago Lulu da Silva, when he was a two-term President of Latin American superpower Brazil, was Cuba's most important supporter...even more so than Venezuela, Nicaragua, and Bolivia. But when Trump-ally Jair Bolsonaro became President of Brazil both Trump in the world superpower United States and Bolsonaro in the Latin American superpower Brazil combined to try to starkly expand the already cruel Blockade of Cuba. While Bolsonaro was Brazil's President Lulu da Silva was charged with corruption and served a long stretch in prison, but was released in time to run for President against Bolsonaro in last Sunday's election. Lulu won that election with 47.83% of the vote to Bolsonaro's 43.82%, with two other candidates getting 7.29% of the votes. Thus because Lulu didn't get 50% of the votes there will be a runoff between Lulu da Silva against Jair Bolsonaro. Indications are that Lulu will also win that runoff, which will give Cuba another massive Latin American friend.
But in November of 2022 Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador is the most important international leader that  cares the most about Cuban families that he believes are "so unfairly and so unmercifully harmed by a criminal Blockade."

Cuba Tourism Ticks UP!!!!

For over six decades the drastic U. S. economic Blockade of Cuba has drastically devastated the Cuban economy. Tourism, especially during its current winter season, is particularly important to the Caribbean's largest island nation. In this first week of November-2022 Cuba is optimistic that the winter tourism is ticking up sharply, such as indicated by more-than-expected new flights from prime Canadian airlines. Canadian tourists are vital and they have helped make Cuban beaches such as Varadero and Cayo Largo, even with the Blockade, both rated "Best Beach In The World" by international tourist polls.
Even has Cuba emerged from the Pandemic, the tightened U. S. Blockade as well as the deadly Hurricane Ian, deadly explosions that destroyed Havana's most famed tourist hotel and the island's main power plant in Matanzas have deeply added to the despair of the Cuban people. Today -- on November 4th-2022 -- national television newscasts, as shown above, were still reporting on the major reconstruction that is being done and must continue to be done.
Also today nationwide newscasts in Cuba report on the "illegal, immoral" U. S. Blockade that is making it "very hard for us to make the necessary repairs and reconstructions that the Cuban people need. And that, of course, remains the purpose of the Blockade that started long ago, in 1962."
But also today -- November 4th-2022 -- nationwide Cuban newscasts, of course, are elated that Lulu da Silva has again been elected in Brazil, which is Latin America's largest and richest nation. Lulu, in his two previous terms as President of Brazil before political foes put him in a Brazilian prison for a sizeable stretch, had been a dear friend of Fidel Castro and Cuba.
In fact, in this month of November in 2022 Cuba believes that Brazil is not the only Latin American nation moving away from the anti-Cuban grip influenced by the wealth and power of the United States. Now recent developments appear to show that nations such as Brazil, Bolivia, Chile, Peru, Honduras, Argentina, and even Colombia may be shifting to more pro-Cuban positions to join Cuba's traditional allies like Venezuela and Nicaragua.
Of course, in this first week of November-2022 the nations of the world voted overwhelmingly again in the United Nations to demand that the United States end its blockade of Cuba. With 187 nations voting this week, only the United States and Israel voted to maintain the Embargo/Blockade that started in 1962. The two abstentions that didn't vote at all were Brazil and Ukraine. It is assumed that Lulu's Brazil next year will loudly vote with the majority to end the Embargo/Blockade.
And as the nations of the world said again this week:
"Let Cuba Live!"
This is a street in Havana.

TODAY, as always, the nations of the world CONDEMNED the Embargo

Today -- on November 3rd-2022 -- the nations of the world at the United Nations in New York voted overwhelmingly to end the U. S. Embargo/Blockade against Cuba, as they do yearly!! Today the vote was a firm 185 nations that voted to end the Embargo, which Cubans call a Blockade. The only 2 nations that voted to keep it, as usual, were the United States and Israel. The only 2 nations that abstained from voting were Brazil and Ukraine.
The U. S. Embargo against Cuba has existed since 1962 -- three years after the Cuban Revolution defeated the U.S.-backed Batista dictatorship in 1959 and one year after the U. S. Bay of Pigs military attack in Cuba in 1961 failed to overthrow the revolutionary rule on the island. Since 1962 generations of Americans have been successfully programmed not to be ashamed of the worldview of the Embargo, as depicted above by the great Brazilian artist Carlos LaTuff...and as voted on today by the world at the UN.
