Cuba Is Barely Hanging On

Let's Take A Look!!!
{Sunday, April 14th, 2019}
    Except for the Cuban narratives from Counter Revolutionaries in Little Havana/Miami, Americans are supposed to know just three basic words about Cuba -- Castro, Havana, and maybe Malecon. Regarding the "maybe," the Malecon is the famed seawall that looks 90-miles across the Florida Straits from Havana to Key West, Florida. The pertinent photo above was taken near sunset off the LEGENDARY and BELOVED  Malecon seawall at 7:00 P. M., April 10th, 2019. That reconnaissance-looking airplane and the military-looking helicopter so close to Havana scared some Cubans because it harkened back to a dire and scary threat in 1996 from Miami-piloted planes, which dropped mocking leaflets over Havana and seemed determined to provoke a situation that would dissuade President Clinton from normalizing relations with Cuba, which in fact it did, forcing Clinton to go in the diametrically opposite direction AND SIGN the infamous 1996 Helms-Burton Act. The photo above this week frightened Cubans in Havana when it was first posted on social media because they assumed it showed a U. S. military reconnaissance airplane and a protective helicopter. Cubans on the island anticipate, as early as this spring, that Little Havana Cubans in Miami will attempt a strong TRUMP-backed military attack to, at long last, successfully counter the 1959 victory by the Cuban Revolution.
     This photo from the superb London-based Reuters News Agency proves, I believe, that Cuba realizes that the USA's Trump administration is EVEN MORE of a threat than the vulnerable island suffered during the decades when the fully Batistiano-aligned Bush dynasty dominated the White House in Washington. It is a clear fact that the harassed Trump White House has anointed Marco Rubio with the wherewithal...economically and militarily...to  gift Counter Revolutionary extremists in Little Havana/Miami with their passionate desire -- FULL CONTROL ONCE AGAIN OF CUBA!! Rubio's convenient excuse for his regime-change in Cuba is the VENEZUELAN CRISIS that is blamed on Cuba, a simplistic ploy that the mainstream U. S. media and American citizens are compelled to accept. That reality created the image above, which shows 87-year-old Raul Castro newly emerged from his semi-retirement to make this exact declaration:
           "We will never abandon our duty of acting in solidarity with Venezuela. We reject strongly all types of blackmail. Cuba is being blamed for all evils, using lies and the worst kind of Hitlerian propaganda. We have told the U. S. administration Cuba is not afraid and will continue building the future of the nation without outside interference."
          Feisty, pugnacious and unsurprising words, to be sure, from the revolutionary brother of the late Fidel Castro. But CUBANinSIDER noticed, just hours apart, a quotation that will probably predicate Cuba's immediate and very problematic and unsettled future more than the above pertinent words from Raul Castro.
    Cuba's well-educated, healthy, and restive young-adult generation will determine whether the island survives the latest and probably the all-time most threatening Republican administration in Washington -- Trump's, which has turned all Cuban-related issues over to Marco Rubio and his puppet-masters in Miami's Little Havana neighborhood, which actually comprises a tiny but powerful exile government within the bowels of the U. S. democracy. Rosy Amaro, an important and popular news anchor at a key state-owned television outlet in Havana, epitomizes the young-adults on the island who will try to hold off Rubio till the Trump era ends or capitulate to Little Havana's total control of the USA's Cuban policies, withh Little Havana fully backed by the U. S. treasury, the U. S. military, and the U. S. Congress where money easily supersedes either democracy or principle. So, while understanding Rubio is abundantly clear, comprehending Rosy Amaro, and her influence, is still a work in progress. She is a doting mother to a little girl and fiercely defends the island's children, with a fervor reminiscent of revolutionary heroine Celia Sanchez. Also, while it may shock propagandized Americans, she is not at all reluctant to use her television celebrity and her social media influence to sharply criticize any aspect of the Cuban government if she feels it is not serving everyday Cubans. This week, for example, Rosy Amaro openly warned new President Miguel Diaz-Canel, whom she supports, that the Cuban government must live up to the tenets of the new Constitution, the island's first since the 1970's, that allows for more free market enterprise and for more personal freedom.  Invoking her demand for a better Cuba for her 5-year-old daughter Mariana and all of Cuba's children, Rosy Amaro this week chose April 10-2019 -- the day the new Constitution took effect -- to lay these stringent words on the Cuban people and the Cuban government:
            "April 10, 2019, must be a day that Mariana writes down. Let's get out of our usual tragedies...transportation, food, salaries, internet. Let's tune into the Constitution as support for the personal lives of everyone. We have to feel part of the change so that we are generators of that change. The new Constitution will not change our immediate reality, but I hope that my Mariana's Cuba will be much better than what I live today."
        Fully cognizant of three generations of Cuban females -- her mother, herself, and her daughter -- that have been unmercifully targeted all their lives by Little Havana's Superpower-backed government headquartered in Miami, Rosy Amaro ALSO openly blames the Cuban government for shortcomings that she wants corrected, and such criticism is allowed in today's Cuba and how it affects the island's immediate future will be the determining factor as to whether the Revolution can continue to defy all odds and now survive during Trump's remaining time as U. S. President. But when Rosy Amaro -- on state television and on the now ubiquitous social media connections in Cuba -- has the courage and the power to sharply make demands of the government to improve, despite the embargo and other foreign obstacles, such "tragedies" as "food" and "salaries," then I think that a Rosy Amaro on the island rises above a Marco Rubio in the USA when it comes to whether or not Cubans like Rosy's 5-year-old daughter will have a decent and an Independent future in their own island nation. Rosy is convinced that Rubio and his ilk from Little Havana mean to harm children on the island like her 5-year-old daughter in order to seek revenge on the Revolution and/or to intimidate the adults into submission to a richer and stronger foreign entity.
     Cuba's new Constitution, its first since the 1970's, took effect this week -- on April 10, 2019. Rosy Amaro's references to it include the belief that Little Havana in Miami will accept nothing less than a complete Little Havana recapturing of the island.
       A new Constitution...a new non-Castro President born after the Revolution...new reforms approved by a strong majority on the island...but Little Havana will not even allow its puppet President, Trump, to even talk with a Cuban official. And this is the same Trump that flies around the world expressing his "love" for dictators in...North Korea, China, Russia, Egypt, or wherever. But, of course, Cuba is the only nation that chased a U.S.-backed dictatorship off the island...all the way to Little Havana in Miami, as it turned out.
    The excellent Reuters journalist in Cuba, Sarah Marsh, this week confirmed the "food" shortage that Rosy Amaro referenced. Sarah Marsh used a striking photo to show empty shelves at a key Havana supermarket. I could show you that photo but I won't because it saddens me to think my USA democracy allows a handful of Little Havana miscreants to punish, with starvation, totally innocent people in a much-weaker country. Cuba, which provides totally free education through college and totally free healthcare for life, is forced to buy, says Sarah Marsh, "60 to 70 percent of its food" due partly to the "central government inadequacies" but mostly to the "U. S. embargo" that can block farming equipment, fertilizer, etc., from reaching the island and also levy fines or otherwise punish other nations that might want to do business with Cuba. And this week -- on Thursday, April 11, 2019 -- Sarah Marsh reported that "Cuba Seeks A Food Miracle" that includes a 91-year-old former Revolutionary Commander providing Ostrich meat to hungry Cubans.
    At age 91, former anti-Batista guerrilla fighter and Rebel Commander Garcia Frias still makes strong revolutionary statements like the one above: "The Revolution is very complex, and ours is unique: born of the people." This week Garcia Frias was interviewed on state-wide television and he announced that his seven Ostrich Farms could help alleviate Cuba's meat shortage. The Reuters article by Sarah Marsh quoted a 22-year-old Havana law student as saying she had been unable to find chicken meat for the past month and Sarah Marsh reported, "Whenever chicken arrives at supermarkets in Havana these days, long queues quickly form and do not peter out until the stock is exhausted." EVERY chicken farmer in America wants to sell frozen chickens to Cuba and EVERY nearby port in Florida is anxious to deliver the food supply but just ONE Little Havana miscreant, such as Marco Rubio, can scuttle such sanity and decency whenever a Republican rules the White House, which is now the case with Donald Trump.
    And so, to counter the insane and indecent Rubio starvation tactics, 91-year-old Rebel Commander-turned-farmer Garcia Frias wants to supply ostrich meat for hungry Cubans.
    Cubans, even when hungry, have a notable sense of humor. Thus, popular comedians on the island -- such as the one above who calls herself Magdalena de Cuba --  had a glorious time on Cuban television mocking Garcia Frias and his "ostrich solution." Quickly Magdalena's video went viral around the world and Counter Revolutionary propaganda outfits in the United States media still can't stop laughing.
     In Miami Radio-TV Marti aired and raved about the Magdalena video that made fun of the "ostrich solution" presented in Cuba by 91-year-old Commander Garcia Frias. Since the 1980's, of course, Radio-TV Marti has been one of the BIGGEST JOKES IN THE USA -- on the American people!! Two decades ago a famous ABC-News report entitled "The Broadcast to Nowhere" revealed that Marti's purpose was to siphon off tons of tax dollars in a gushing pipeline from Washington to Miami to reward Counter Revolutionary Cubans...and that has been an ongoing GUSHER of tax dollars for decades. Recently top Florida-based journalist/professor Tracey Eaton updated that PRECISE fact using Freedom of Information U. S. government figures to document the insanely lucrative salaries and outside payments still being dished out by Marti's extreme Counter Revolutionary propaganda machine. Radio-TV Marti shines like a beacon to prove that the 1959 triumph of the Cuban Revolution says a helluva lot more about the United States than it says about the island of Cuba.
      As the Miami-based Progreso Weekly points out with the above graphic, the Little Havana Counter Revolutionaries, WHILE THEY HAVEN'T BEEN ABLE TO RECAPTURE CUBA IN THE PAST 6+ DECADES, have been able to capture a significant part of the United States government. Of course Radio-TV Marti is one example but the biggest example right now is the "TRUMPIFIED MARCO RUBIO. A U. S. democracy that is unable or unwilling to rein in a "TRUMPIFIED MARCO RUBIO" may be a U. S. democracy that has more problems than Cuba, which is now having "hunger" problems largely because of..."TRUMPIFIED MARCO RUBIO." And that's a "TRUMPIFIED JOKE" targeting both Cuba and the USA.

A Tale of Two Women

A Cuban ANGEL and a USA LIAR??
I'll Let You Decide!!
{Tuesday, April 9th, 2019}
     Since 1959, when the upstart and audacious Cuban Revolution chased the U.S.-backed Batista-Mafia dictators to their new capital -- Little Havana in Miami -- Counter Revolutionary zealots, backed by the incomparable might of the USA -- have tried desperately to recapture the island. Each day since then, Miami's Little Havana extremists have cast a tight red noose over the island, expecting on any given day for the past six decades to reel Cuba back into their web. It hasn't happened and that sheer fact is every bit as astonishing as the triumph of the Cuban Revolution on January 1, 1959. After all, Cuba is a mere island and the nearby USA is the world's economic and military Superpower. As a democracy-loving American, and a REPUBLICAN to boot, I've been to Cuba and I've studied its revolutionary history every day {and most nights} for three decades. My conclusion is this:
     {1} Extraordinary child-loving Cuban revolutionary women, such as Celia Sanchez, were primarily responsible for the triumph of the Cuban Revolution; and she was primarily inspired by the extreme brutality with which the Batista-Mafia dictators treated Cuba's peasant {non-elite} children beginning in 1952 and continuing till January 1-1959 when she was largely responsible for chasing the Batista-Mafia leaders to sanctuaries such as Miami and Newark.
      The twin photos of Celia Sanchez above help document her status as history's all-time greatest female revolutionary recruiter, decision-maker, guerrilla fighter, and military leader. The bottom illustration reflects the manner in which the child-loving Celia Sanchez for the past six decades has inspired two succeeding generations of Cuban women to zealously defend their island against a return of the Batistianos-Mafiosi.
      {2} Epitomizing today's generation of Cuban women on the island who are inspired by revolutionary heroines like Celia Sanchez is broadcast journalist Rosy Amaro.
     Very popular and quite influential across the island, Rosy Amaro is shown above this week receiving another certificate of appreciation for her work as a journalist and for her Celia Sanchez-like fervor in defense of Cuba's children against the Trump administration's all-out effort to recapture the island for the Little Havana zealots.
A Cuban mother, Rosy Amaro.
    Today Rosy Amaro's precious and precocious {singer, gymnast, etc.} daughter is 5-years-old. They have been to capital cities in Europe and they have close relatives in Florida, Virginia, and Arizona. Rosy, like other mothers on the island today, believes that President Trump will permit his five prime anti-Cuban war-mongers -- Marco Rubio, Mauricio Claver-Carone, John Bolton, Mike Pompeo and Elliot Abrams -- to attack Cuba later this spring with the world's most powerful military if the new Trump-imposed sanctions don't starve the island into submission before that becomes necessary. Yet, with Celia Sanchez-like fervor, Rosy has made the decision that she had rather die fighting for Cuban sovereignty...and all of the children on the island...then make the easy flight to Miami where she could live royally but "with a guilty conscience."
     And Rosy Amaro has talked to her daughter about the dire threat they and all Cubans on the island now face from the Trump administration that takes all of its orders related to Cuba from unchallenged Little Havana denizens such as Marco Rubio. And Rosy also, while holding her little girl's hand, tried to explain why she had made the decision to remain on the island regardless of the much-wealthier sanctuary that would await them in Miami.
     For the aforementioned reasons, I nominate Rosy Amaro as a CUBAN ANGEL because of her Celia Sanchez-like love for Cuba's children -- all Cuba's children and not just her own precious 5-year-old daughter.
    This photo was taken this past weekend in Rosy Amaro's Havana home. It shows Rosy's daughter on the left with four 5-year-old friends. Rosy had taken a lot of time attending to the make-up and outfits for all these children before she then monitored the girlish frivolity that ensued. Now, perhaps, you know why the child-loving Rosy Amaro is my nomination as a Celia Sanchez-type CUBAN ANGEL. With that being said, permit me now to nominate what I consider to be a typical self-serving USA LIAR who I also consider to be a threat to Cuban chilldren.
      Sponsored, funded, and anointed by one of the many right-wing and ultra-rich "THINK TANKS" in Washington, Miami's Ana Quintana is one of what seems like an endless array of normally unchallenged Counter Revolutionary propagandists. In the right-wing Washington Inquirer newspaper this past weekend, for example, Ana Quintana raved about the new anti-Cuban sanctions mandated by Rubio on behalf of TRUMP, and Quintana seemed to rejoice in her belief that the extremely cruel new sanctions will surely starve the Cubans on the island, softening them up for the military regime-change later this spring. Quintana's EXACT Washington Inquirer words were: "Cuba's foreign ministry is raging about U. S. sanctions. Why? Because that means less money for the Cuban colonial masters." Backed by extreme intimidation tactics from her hometown of Miami and by extreme financial input from her Think Tank in Washington and other well-heeled Counter Revolutionaries, Ana Quintana is convinced that her kind are the only ones who have a right to express opinions about Cuba. WELL, I have an opinion; and I think the USA is inundated with a litany of self-serving professional anti-Cuban liars and propagandists like...Ana Quintana.
     Of course, Ana Quintana and her ilk can go on right-wing media outlets every day and be hailed Super Experts on U.S. - CUBA RELATIONS. Then, without a scintilla of contradiction, such audiences will be assured that the BATISTA-MAFIA DICTATORSHIP in Cuba was the sweetest, most kind-hearted, and most democracy-loving government on the planet while, of course, the REVOLUTIONARY CUBAN GOVERNMENT since 1959 has been the most ruthless, brutal, and bloodthirsty regime in history. Never expecting to be contradicted or challenged, people like Ana Quintana, not so unlike propagandists in tightly controlled dictatorships, have virtually uncontested lay-ups in the conservative, right-wing  U. S. media and even in the intimidated mainstream and left-wing media that is simply afraid of Miami extremists.
     On powerful U. S. media outlets such as Fox News, professional anti-Cuba propagandists such as Ana Quintana can appear 24-hours-a-day and never be challenged. Thus two generations of Americans are supposed to believe that the Batista-Mafia rule of Cuba back in the 1950s made for a beautiful democracy and, of course, an idyllic paradise FOR ALL CUBANS and not just for the brutal Mafia thieves like Fulgencio Batista, Lucky Luciano, Meyer Lansky, Santo Trafficante, and, of course, for the rich U. S. businessmen who paid kick-backs so they could control the so-called "legitimate" businesses on the island.
     Of course, Fox News anchors pretend to be journalist when they introduce the litany of professional anti-Cuban propagandists from Miami such as Ana Quintana. Moreover, Americans are supposed to be too stupid or too intimidated to dismiss such introductions: "We now welcome Ana Quintana direct from the mighty Heritage Foundation here in Washington. Born, reared and educated in Miami, we all know that Ana is an unbiased and world-class expert on Cuba, the Caribbean and Latin America. Ana will explain why it is absolutely imperative that the Trump administration, inspired by Miami's Marco Rubio, must execute regime-changes in Venezuela, Nicaragua and MOST OF ALL IN CUBA, which is the source for all of Latin America's ills since 1959. So, Ana, now tell our audience why the Batistiano exiles in Miami need to be reinstated as the rulers in Cuba...FOR THE SAKE, OF COURSE, OF THE U. S. DEMOCRACY as well as the persecuted Cubans on the island." As easily documented by GOOGLING Miami-fueled car-bombs, airplane-bombs, hotel-bombs, the Torricelli & Helms-Burton congressional bombs, and the plethora of Batistiano-sycophants such as the Bush dynasty, well-financed professional Counter Revolutionary propagandists like Ana Quintana can saturate conservative and right-wing media outlets any hour of any day. And greatly exacerbating that anti-Democracy fall-out from Little Havana/Miami since 1959 is the sheer fact that even the mainstream U. S. media is too scared to contradict Little Havana/Miami extremists.
     And that's why, after reading Ana Quintana's vicious comments in this past weekend's Washington Inquirer, I start this second week in April-2019 by nominating the child-loving Rosy Amaro as the modern-day Cuban Angel. Whether Rosy and other Cubans like her can survive the Little Havana-directed Trump administration remains to be seen, but their effort, I believe, will be memorable.
     The child-loving revolutionary icon, Celia Sanchez, to this day remains the prime inspiration for the three generations of Cuban mothers since the 1950s who have tried so desperately to protect their children from foreign miscreants who resurface in EVERY U. S. Republican administration {of which there have been six since the 1950s, with the latest being TRUMP'S White House, which seems to be even more dangerous for innocent Cubans than the three BUSH White Houses that were 100% aligned with extremist Miami Cubans.}.
     Meanwhile, Rosy Amaro -- my nomination as today's Celia Sanchez-type CUBAN ANGEL -- is well aware that she and the other Cuban mothers on the island are being threatened with starvation now by the more stringent Trump-Rubio sanctions and later this spring they expect a USA military attack designed to execute a regime-change, finally revenging the Bay of Pigs military attack in April of 1961. So, you ask, "Why is Rosy smiling as she treads carefully on that very real and very narrow obstacle course?" I'll close by answering that question to the best of my knowledge: "Rosy, in the spring of 2019...like Celia Sanchez back in the 1950s...is at peace with her decision in the spring of 2019 to resist Trump & Rubio at all costs no matter the risks, the consequences, or the overwhelming odds that favor the world's Superpower whenever a Republican President is the USA's Commander-in-Chief." But, hopefully, the child-lovers will survive.

Helping OR Starving Cubans

Will Rubio's Starvation Plan Work?
     This interesting photo, courtesy of Ariel Rey Rollero/ACN, shows the first of 100 brand-new garbage collecting trucks that Japan is donating to Cuba. In this first week of April-2019 the first 24 trucks have arrived in Havana and the remaining 76 are on the way. Kazuhiro Fujimura, the Japanese Ambassador to Cuba, said, "This is one way we are trying to help the Cuban people. In addition to the trucks, we have trained the Cuban drivers and mechanics how to use the tools and the repair spare parts that we are sending with the trucks. This is from the people of Japan to the people of Cuba." Cuba has just one enemy in the world, but it happens to be the nearby world Superpower, the United States, which has the economic and military might to punish and scare away other nations that may want to help Cuba or merely conduct normal trade with the island. So, the gesture this week from Japan, a prime U. S. trading partner, is a brave move.
        THE VERY SAME DAY THIS WEEK -- Friday, April 5th, 2019 -- that Japan was making that brave donation of garbage trucks to the Cuban people, the USA Vice President Mike Pence was speaking at Rice University in Houston, Texas. If you read the coverage of that speech in articles by the Houston Chronicle and the Jamaica Observer, I believe you will comprehend the gist of Pence's message, which was essentially to cowardly and boastfully tout the starvation of Cubans on the island as a prelude to the Trump administration's recapturing the island on behalf of the latest generation of Counter Revolutionary extremists in the Little Havana section of Miami. Pence, in his speeches or statements about Cuba, merely does what President Trump, Secretary of State Pompeo, National Security Adviser Bolton, and the USA's Western Hemisphere boss Claver-Carone do...AND THAT IS TO PARROT WHATEVER THE USA'S LATEST CUBAN DICTATOR, Senator Marco Rubio from Little Havana, DIRECTS THEM TO SAY. In Houston on April 5th Pence indicated that as soon as the USA executes its regime-change in Venezuela, Cuba is next followed by Nicaragua. Typical of all Batistiano-dictated Republican administrations since 1959, Pence blamed Cuba for all the ills in the Caribbean and Latin America, including...of course...the Venezuelan crisis. While Pence expected the USA to have executed its regime-change in Venezuela two months ago, he blamed poor-little-embargoed Cuba for the delay. Of course, two huge nuclear-powered Superpowers, Russia and China, have sent airplane loads of medicine, food, etc., as well as well-armed Russian and Chinese soldiers to Venezuela. But, of course, Pence is afraid of mighty Russia and mighty China so, of course, he reserves his regime-change talk only to small nations, especially little Cuba, which is the only nation that ever overthrew a U.S.-backed dictatorship -- Batista-Mafia -- only to chase the leaders to Miami and Newark where, beginning in January of 1959, they quickly set up what has turned out to be a very rich exile-Cuban government within the bowels of the U. S government. And Pence's April 5th speech in Houston, I believe, merely reflects the latest Republican administration's dire desire to help the Little Havana extremists to recapture Cuba.
     In Houston on April 5th this Godofredo A. Vasquez/Houston Chronicle photo shows Rice University students loudly booing the speech by Vice President Pence. The Chronicle indicated they were booing Pence because they perceive him to be anti-gay but Hispanic students are also staunchly against Republican imperialism in Latin America.
     This powerful lady -- Maria Fernanda Espinosa -- has been in Cuba all week and will remain there this weekend. She is the President of the United Nations General Assembly. "I seek to strengthen ties between Cuba and the United Nations," Mrs. Fernanda Espinosa said. "When innocent people are threatened or in need, it is our responsibility, whenever we can, to offer our input and help." The phrase "whenever we can" obviously refers to the fact that she is not happy that the United States has veto power over her UN General Assembly as well as the incomparable economic and military might to back it up.
     Cuba's Ambassador to the United Nations is Anayansi Rodriguez and she is a close friend of Maria Fernanda Espinosa, the President of the UN's General Assembly. Ms. Rodriguez said, "Cuba is very willing to speak with and be very friendly to anyone and any nation that is friendly to us. We spoke with and we were very friendly to President Obama but we have been blind-sided by his successor being another Republican, a President who speaks with the top leaders of North Korea, Saudi Arabia, Russia, China, Vietnam...but not us because I, as well as others, including Maria Fernanda, believe all Republican leaders are directed by Cuban extremists in Miami and in the U. S. Congress."
        If you take time to tap the 3-minute video above you will hear in English the words of a great and decent lady -- Anayansi Rodriguez, Cuba's Ambassador to the UN. {As a democracy-loving American, one of my great shames is that, since the 1950's, the U. S. democracy, especially during all Republican administrations, has allowed a handful of Cuban extremists to dictate America's Cuban policies and America's Cuban narratives. There are, I believe, over five million Cuban women on the island, like Anayansi Rodriguez, who are far better human beings than the handful of USA-embedded Cuban extremists and the sycophants who support them}.

CUBANinSIDER.com
{Saturday, April 6th, 2019}

A Personal Note:
    I have posted on CUBANinSIDER.com about 1,210 essays, deleting some as out-dated, but as of April-2019 some 1,013 of the Cuban updates remain. This week, despite topical updates as the island struggles mightily to survive the Trump administration, I became aware of a comment made by one of the most powerful Cuban-American Counter Revolutionaries that Trump has anointed to recapture Cuba. That comment: "By summertime this year one of the most important Florida and U. S. ports will be Cuba's deep-water, very modern, and strategically located Mariel Port 30 miles outside of Atlanta." I have studied that boost and, unfortunately, I believe it might be an accurate prognostication.
    Perhaps that explains why, this week in April of 2019, a CUBANinSIDER.com essay posted on April 2, 2017 -- two-years-old -- has been the most-read this week. It is entitled: "CUBA'S MAFIA HISTORY LINGERS" and you can Google that exact title and it will take you to it. The sub-title is: "Still Topical Today and apparently astute and informed readers believe it is. My next topical essay on CUBANinSider.com will explain WHY I believe the aforementioned boast about the Port of Mariel will likely come true. {It was made in Miami}.

How Rubio Shames USA

As Well as DEMOCRACY & FLORIDA!!
{Friday, April 5th, 2019}

    The Tampa Bay Times is the best newspaper in Florida and one of the most-read and respected newspapers in America. Its major Editorial this week, I believe, should be read by every Democracy-loving American. Permit me to explain why.
    The primary contribution to the U. S. Democracy and to decency this week by the Tampa Bay Times is entitled: "Editorial: Don't Cut U.S.-Cuba Baseball Ties." From that simple headline, Florida's best news source in Marco Rubio's home-state goes on to excoriate Rubio for "punishing" totally innocent people in Cuba to sate his apparently insatiable appetite for revenge but, of course, mostly to enhance his economic and political fortunes by catering to a handful of rich Counter Revolutionary extremists from his  Batistiano-dominated home area -- Little Havana in Miami.
  Well known for trying to starve everyday Cubans on the island by leading the Trump administration's insanely cruel tightening of the six-decades-old economic embargo, Rubio uses any excuse to "punish" innocent Cubans on the island -- even including the recent totally sane and decent agreement between the USA's Major League Baseball teams and Cuba's corresponding pro baseball league.
    The Tampa Bay Times, obviously fed-up with Rubio's incessant cruelty, included these exact quotes in this week's important pro-democracy/pro-decency excoriation of Rubio's blatant and moronic attempt to block the U.S.-Cuban baseball agreement: "The deal could be unraveling, thanks in part to the backward politics of Sen. Marco Rubio. It is too bad but entirely predictable that Rubio is hurting  that effort. Sen. Rubio is foolishly attacking it. This is a humanitarian mistake that only punishes innocent families."
      And beyond Rubio's cruel insanity related to baseball, the Tampa Bay Times Editorial also excoriated Rubio for being primarily responsible for "punishing" totally innocent Cuban "families" by tightening the already-stifling U. S. economic embargo that has existed since 1962 although in 2016, the last year of the Obama presidency, it correctly, with President Obama's approval, got the U. S. condemned by a worldwide 191-to-0 vote in the United Nations. But that insanely cruel embargo persists decade-after-decade because the USA is the world's economic dynamo AND because the USA has more nuclear weapons than the rest of the world. The Tampa Bay Times Editorial, clearly aware of Rubio's leadership in tightening the insanely cruel embargo, added this condemnation of Rubio: "The U. S. trade embargo was a failure, and Cuban Americans of all ages recognize the need to move on." Of course, such anti-Democratic "FAILURES" as the embargo have been DICTATED for six decades by a handful of Cuban exiles from the Batista-Mafia dictatorship that brutalized and ransacked Cuba from 1952 till it was overthrown on the first day of 1959, which chased the Batista-Mafia dictatorship to its new capital -- Little Havana USA.
Marco Rubio Little Havana Supporters.
    This week's blistering Editorial in the Tampa Bay Times very correctly eviscerates Marco Rubio being allowed to continually "punish" totally innocent Cuban "families" on the nearby vulnerable island, but just as importantly it is a reminder of the vulnerability of the U. S. democracy itself and it should, I think, make Americans ASK this question: How could a handful of extremist exiles from a brutal foreign dictatorship, from generation-to-generation, relocate on U. S. soil, hide behind the skirts of the U. S. government with the help of a handful of self-serving sycophants, and use the attempts to recapture their former country to get richer and more powerful while also dictating U. S. laws and U. S. narratives to "PUNISH" generations of totally innocent "FAMILIES" in that much smaller and weaker sovereign nation??? Of course, cowardly and unpatriotic generations of Americans and Cuba-Americans since the 1950s, coupled with an increasingly ineffective and propaganda-obsessed mainstream U. S. media, are EVERY BIT as culpable as massively unsavory benefactors like "Sen. Marco Rubio." But, at least, this week's exemplary EDITORIAL in the Tampa Bay Times shines a beacon of light on the Little Havana threat to the United States -- including both its democracy and its reputation. BUT WHAT POSITIVE EFFECT WILL SUCH A POWERFUL AND MEANINGFUL EDITORIAL HAVE ON ERADICATING THE LINGERING CANCER THAT HAS AFFECTED THE USA SINCE 1959? Unfortunately, very little...I'm afraid.
      After all, the Miami Herald -- Marco Rubio's hometown newspaper -- has also eviscerated and excoriated Rubio for insanely "punishing" totally innocent "families" in Cuba while also "punishing" the majority of decent Cuban-Americans in Miami who desire a sane relationship with their cousins on the island. As illustrated by the photo/graphic above, the Miami Herald invited four "female Cuban entrepreneurs" on the island to pen a blistering attack on Rubio. Those Cuban mothers had created successful businesses on the island thanks to the decency of former U. S. President Obama when Obama tried his best to loosen the embargo. But when the latest Republican President, Trump, put Rubio in charge of PUNISHING AND RECAPTURING CUBA, those Cuban mothers and entrepreneurs were blind-sided by Rubio. In their scathing Miami Herald article, the Cuban mothers explained that Rubio was preventing them from continuing to make honest livings to take care of their children. And, as you can see in the above photo-graphic, those mothers BEGGED Rubio to as least meet with them to hear their pleas in person. Of course, Rubio doesn't have the guts or the decency to do that.
    While Rubio won't listen to decent Cuban mothers on the island, Rubio stays in close contact -- on the phone and in his Senate offices -- with the top Cuban dissidents, and Rubio is surely not adverse to showering dissidents like Yoani Sanchez with tax dollars if they promise to help his regime-change schemes.
   While the mainstream U. S. media is too afraid of Little Havana to criticize Rubio, the VERY BEST investigative journalist in Washington, Ken Silverstein, is gutsy enough and talented enough to have penned what many consider the VERY BEST bio of Rubio.
    The Ken Silverstein bio of Rubio is easily Googled and it begins by stating that Rubio is "head and shoulders" above all the other politicians in Washington "when it comes to corruption and chicanery." The Silverstein research is minutely documented by dates, time, places, and names...and as far as I know no one has ever challenged it or sued it. Rubio's Little Havana originally included in his Senate bio the beneficial but bogus claim that his parents escaped the tyranny of Castro's Cuba for the freedom of Miami, till it was pointed that Rubio's parents left Batista's Cuba before anyone considered Castro's revolution a threat to the Batista dictatorship.
Above, a false inhouse Rubio bio.
      The journalist in charge of Miami's influential Progreso Weekly is Alfaro Fernandez. He knows Miami's Rubio as well as he knows the back of his own hand. The Progreso Weekly's depiction of Rubio is revealed by the  two Editorial graphics below.
     When a Marco Rubio can routinely take charge of the USA's Cuban policies in any Republican presidency...such as Trump's...there is obviously something drastically and perhaps fatally wrong with the U. S. democracy. And that is so, I sincerely believe, because two once-treasured institutions charged with protecting the world's greatest democracy -- citizen voters and the mainstream media -- have collectively evolved into unpatriotic cowards.
