Cubans Expect Military Attack

With MIAMI Controlling TRUMP!!

      Americans, I believe, should ignore  the U. S. media's coverage of Cuban issues...such as the impending war in Latin America using the troubles in Venezuela as the pretext...and study the updated photo above, which is courtesy of the Miami-based Progreso Weekly. This now typical scene on a Cuban street illuminates two topical facts: {1} Cubans today are wired to the internet and social media, and thus they know what is happening in Miami, Washington, Caracas, Brasilia, and Havana; and {2} Cubans today believe a Miami-orchestrated war approved by Presidents Trump & Bolsonaro and launched from Brazil is designed to execute regime changes primarily in Cuba but also in Cuba's three closest perceived friends -- Venezuela, Nicaragua, and Bolivia. Americans are programmed to ignore what Cubans on the island are thinking and concentrate solely on what Little Havana Counter Revolutionary Marco Rubio and his unsavory clan tell them to think.

    Yesterday -- Jan. 26, 2019 -- one of Cuba's best known and most beloved mothers -- Rosy Amaro Perez, a television news anchor -- posted the photo above on her social media pages. It shows Rosy tightly hugging her 5-year-old daughter Mariana...and in the forefront it shows two good-luck charms. Rosy explained: "Algien que nos guiere mucho nos ha traido del extremo oriental de Cuba dos piedras." {"Someone who loves us very much has brought us two stones from the eastern end of Cuba."} And so...the two photos above, far more than the U. S. media coverage, attests to what Cubans on the island are thinking this weekend: Most of them anticipate Miami-devised/military-powered regime-changes, first in Venezuela and then in Cuba, Nicaragua, and Bolivia. And most Cubans, such as Rosy, who have often been to other countries and could readily fly to safer havens, will choose to stay in Cuba and await their fate...in defiance of Rubio.

     Cubans on the island realize that the image depicted above from Tuesday, Jan. 22nd, 2019, represented a celebratory coup for Marco Rubio. He and three other anti-Cuban Counter Revolutionary zealots from Florida had just left the White House where they reportedly informed President Trump it was time for a military solution, not just sanctions and terror tactics, to once-and-for-all regain Cuba and use the Venezuelan turmoil as well as the cooperation from Brazil to accomplish that goal. Of course, the U. S. media is not about to mention the significance of Rubio's triumphant march back on Tuesday to that bank of microphones in front of the White House. But Cubans on the island as well as braver and less biased media sources...such as The Guardian in London...are telling their readers about the significance of the above photo...and that significance includes this week's joint Russian-Venezuelan Air Forces conducting urgent training missions that include Russia's most-advanced nuclear-aircraft now operating out of Russia's first Latin American military base, which happens to be on a Venezuelan island about 125 miles north of Caracas. But meanwhile, contemplate whether Rubio, the Little Choirboy from Little Havana, should be dictating America's Cuban policies AS LONG AS Trump holds on to the U. S. presidency.

      A Rubio, on behalf of the most-zealous Little Havana Cubans, dictating a possible Latin American War for the purpose of FINALLY reclaiming Cuba IS NOT EXACTLY the situation the United States of America, and the world, deserves to be in right now.

     Only war-mongers and proselytized idiots, in my opinion, are not alarmed at the image depicted above: TRUMP being told what to do by RUBIO. And at the moment, that's America's greatest threat: A biased and unsavory lightweight like Rubio roaming unchecked by Trump and by the mainstream U. S. media. And history may one day register the fact that a propaganda-obsessed/punditry-driven mainstream U. S. media that doesn't have the guts or integrity to challenge Rubio was/is a bigger threat to America and to Democracy than Trump ever was.

What Cubans Are Saying

The Government, The PEOPLE!!

      On the island of Cuba, both the government and the everyday citizens believe a Caribbean and Latin American War is inevitable. They believe they will lose the war and be forced to revert to a "guerrilla-style second revolutionary effort, one that will last much longer than Fidel's 1952-1959 Revolution." The Cuban mother who posted that comment on her social media page was reflecting the common views of the common Cubans. They believe that the latest post-Obama anti-Cuban Republican administration in Washington is "the most dangerous and the most corrupt of the U. S. administrations since 1952." The 1952 date refers to the year Cubans believe the U. S. sicced the Mafia on Cuba. They believe the Perfect Storm that has evolved today involves an incompetent and harassed President, Donald Trump, and three vicious anti-Cuban zealots anxious to take advantage of that situation -- Marco Rubio, Mike Pompeo, and John Bolton. The Cuban mother and the majority of other everyday Cubans on the island are convinced that Trump's "strings" are being pulled by Rubio, Pompeo, and Bolton. And they believe that the quartet depicted above is "willing" to launch a Latin American War to regain control of Cuba, a war that will "begin with the demise of Cuba's regional allies," meaning Venezuela, Nicaragua, and Bolivia. And Cuban citizens do not believe that their three most powerful international allies -- China, Russia, and Vietnam -- will risk an all-out war against the United States to protect Cuba.

     Both everyday Cubans -- who are now very active across the social media platforms -- as well as the Cuban government believe that Senator Marco Rubio is "wickedly in charge of directing the anti-Cuban Latin American War," meaning President Trump "for reasons unknown now" feels totally obligated to do "whatever" Rubio tells Trump to do. And all levels of Cubans on the island believe Rubio's "blind obsession" is for Miami Cubans to regain control of Cuba. They wonder, beyond Miami's powerful political influence on Republicans, if "Rubio knows something that scares Trump, and could reveal it."

     Cubans believe that earlier this week at the White House, Rubio told Trump to begin Venezuelan President Nicolas Madura's demise by recognizing anti-Cuban Juan Guaido as the President of Venezuela. Trump, of course, did that and, because of the dire economic and political turmoil in Venezuela, plenty of nations, including Canada, support that move with only China, Russia, Vietnam, Mexico, and Turkey among major nations opposing it. 

      With Rubio "treating" Trump much like a puppet as far as Cubans on the island believe, Juan Guaido actually took the oath of office as Venezuela's new President. Then Trump ordered the Federal Reserve to direct all Venezuelan assets to Guaido. A top Cuban journalist who speaks for the government, Sergio Alezandro Gomez, wrote in the state media: "There is nothing better than a conflict abroad to ease the internal scandals of the United States. And there are signs that Venezuela could be the next victim of that maxim of the American political system." Gomez successfully preaches that finishing off Venezuela financially is aimed at finishing off Cuba financially, making it easier to execute regime-changes in Venezuela, Cuba, Nicaragua, and Bolivia...with the U. S. Southern Command poised in Brazil to initiate the military aspects of "what is going on."

     Meanwhile, Cubans...both the government and everyday citizens..."are sad" that Canada "the friend we need is supporting Rubio against us." Cubans also are aware that former Cuba allies such as Brazil, Colombia, Chile, Argentina, Peru, etc., now have U.S.-friendly right wing or conservative governments that do "Rubio's bidding" but Cubans are most disappointed that Canada "is also abandoning us, the Cubans that President Justin Trudeau's dad Pierre loved so much."

     And meanwhile, both the Cuban government and everyday citizens are also absorbed with preparing for a "Si"..."Yes"...vote on February 24th to enact the island's first new "Reform Constitution" that will replace the old 1976 Constitution. "We need the market reform that our new Constitution will mandate," said the everyday Cuban mother on her social page. "Rubio, as long as Trump is in office, will isolate us more and more before taking the next step to conquer us. We will guerrilla-fight, you know, but till then we are mostly concerned with the new Constitution that our new Presidente Miguel wants too."

     And so, while the mainstream U. S. media and U. S. citizens are mostly obsessed with Trump's pending impeachment and other such topics, Rubio...Cubans believe...has full clearance to start a Latin American War as a key component of reclaiming Cuba to appease the Counter Revolutionary zealots in Rubio's hometown, which they know is Little Havana in Miami. But that Cuban mother active on social media is trying to concentrate, as above, on continuing to study that Constitution Reform that she hopes will take effect starting February 24th, 2019. "Actually," she says, "what Rubio is being allowed to do in 2019 is nothing new for us. Since 1959, whether it's war or terror directed from Miami and supported by the Superpower, we are accustomed to all that. And we still have to try to live, while not capitulating to foreigners."

MEANWHILE:

    Russian Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Borisov, after meeting with Cuban Vice President Ricardo Cabrisas this week, said Russia will "totally upgrade" Cuba's aged national airline. He noted that, because of the U. S. embargo, Cuba is unable to purchase or lease any airplanes with U. S. components or connections. In May of 2018 on the edge of Havana a 39-year-old Boeing 737 leased from Mexico, on an internal Cuban flight, crashed and killed 112 of the 113 people on board. Borisov also said Russia will team with Spain and China to "drastically upgrade" Cuba's railway system. Russian locomotives have already begun to arrive at Cuban ports. Cabrisas told Borisov, "Our President Miguel Diaz-Canel's top two priorities are improving our economy and improving our transit system."

Cuba Will Lose Venezuela

It's Key Ally Will Be Missed!!

     The world waits now to see if U. S. President Donald Trump will start or will prevent a raging Latin American War pitting Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro against Venezuelan President Juan Guaido. Most of the world, including Canada, supports the USA position backing Guaido while Cuba, Russia, China, Mexico, and Turkey are among the countries supporting Maduro, who also at the moment has the support of the strong Venezuelan military that has been updated recently by Russia. The U. S. State Department has informed the Federal Reserve that Guaido is the agent for access to Venezuelan assets in U. S. banks. And it is known that if the U. S. acts militarily in Venezuela it would begin with the U. S. Southern Command out of Colombia. Also known is the fact that eager war-mongers in the Trump administration are watching intently for any Maduro reaction that could be used as a pretext, or excuse, for a U.S.-led military solution. With Maduro now cornered and boxed in, war seems inevitable as the U. S. waits to see if the Venezuelan military forces will turn against Maduro and finish him off.

    Photos like this from Venezuela indicate conclusively that President Nicolas Madura's days are numbered, and not just because United States President Donald Trump Wednesday recognized Madura's prime opponent, Juan Guaido, as the new Venezuelan President. There are enough Venezuelans who agree with that non-election movement. Additionally, unbiased nations like Canada agree with it, not to mention the Lima Group of twelve significant nations. That fact solidifies the denouement for Madura and surely something had to evolve in oil-rich but bankrupt Venezuela. But the Madura-to-Guaido turmoil threatens to ignite conflagrations the likes of which Latin America has never known and which America has never known in its own backyard. But without support from nations like Canada and from the Lima Group, America's reputations for regime-changes in Latin America involving democratically elected Presidents, from 1953 in Guatemala till deep into the 1970s in Chile, would have meant that Trump's United States of America as the main broker in changing Venezuela's government would not have been acceptable.

     But the worst thing, I believe, related to the Latin American-Caribbean fireworks that will evolve from this week onward is having the back-stabbing/back-patting Little Choirboy from Little Havana dictating Latin American policy to America's seriously harassed President and Commander-in-Chief, who needs all the support he can muster, including from a handful of anti-Cuban zealots from Miami. When an extremely greedy, awesomely biased one-trick-pony like Marco Rubio can dictate Latin American/anti-Cuban policy to President Trump, the ramifications will likely be far more widespread and bloodier than they need to be and would be if more intelligent and less biased individuals...such as true statesmen...were the decision-makers.

     The Voice of America spread the above photo around the world January 24th to point out that 40 years ago President Jimmy Carter used diplomacy to normalize relations with China. Mr. Carter was probably America's all-time most decent President and also possibly the most intelligent. Thus, considering his unsavory political enemies and untimely events such as the Iran hostage situation, Mr. Carter was only a one-term President. By contrast, because of the Bush dynasty's tight, self-serving ties to Miami's Counter Revolutionary Cubans, George W. Bush was a two-term President.

     This, too, is a Voice of America photo that reminds us of the Coming Chaos that will engulf America, Cuba, Venezuela, Brazil, the Caribbean, and Latin America...and perhaps the world. January 24th the Venezuelan military announced support for beleaguered President Nicolas Madura; and Russia, which has greatly updated the Venezuelan military, warned the U. S. against mounting a coup in Venezuela to please the anti-Cuba USA Cubans and to "take control of Venezuela's oil." Venezuela, as both Russia and China well know, has the world's largest known oil reserves.

      President Donald Trump and his National Security Adviser John Bolton are in stark contrast, of course, to the decency of President Carter. Every peace-lover and democracy-lover in Washington cringed when Trump anointed Bolton, infamously known to be a scary war-monger, as a key adviser. On January 24th Venezuelan President Madura ordered U. S. diplomats out of the country. Bolton then bragged that the U. S. diplomats would stay and he dared Madura to harm them. During George W. Bush's two terms as President, Bolton famously searched for excuses to persuade Bush to attack Cuba, once claiming openly that Cuba was a nuclear threat to the USA. It is presumed Bolton is now searching for excuses to attack Venezuela, Cuba, Nicaragua, and Bolivia. The VOA photos that remind us of diplomacy 40 years ago and chaos now are very ominous.

     Yes, it is common knowledge that John Bolton desperately tried to persuade President George W. Bush to attack Cuba. In 2019 it appears that Bolton is having more success in persuading President Trump to attack Cuba...while also throwing in regime-changes in Venezuela, Nicaragua, and Bolivia. If war-mongers like Bolton accomplish those goals, Americans for generations will likely be paying, in green dollars and red blood, for the aftermaths that will surely follow...such as endless guerrilla-style warfare.

     But the Little Choirboy from Little Havana remains the chief architect of the shift from Obama decency to Trump lunacy regarding America's Cuba Policy. It is, as everyone in Washington knows, Marco Rubio who has surrounded Trump with prime anti-Cuba war-mongers -- including Western Hemisphere boss Mauricio Claver-Caron, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, and, of course, National Security Adviser John Bolton. As has already happened, expect Rubio to be all over the U. S. television networks bragging about his part in the upcoming chaos in Latin America...and beyond. As a dangerous, self-serving politician, Rubio is a joke but even the left-wing media trying so hard to impeach Trump is much too afraid of the Miami Cubans to hold Rubio accountable for anything he does or says...the same Rubio that Washington's best investigative journalist, Ken Silverstein, says "is head and shoulders above everyone else in Washington when it comes to corruption and chicanery." Now when you consider that people like Senator Bob Menendez and National Security boss John Bolton are in Washington, ponder what Ken Silverstein's depiction of Marco Rubio REALLY MEANS.

Prepare for Latin America's War

A Hot -- Not A Cold War!!

     The photo above figures to become historic. It was taken  Tuesday -- Jan. 22nd-2019 -- outside the White House after four extremists anti-Cuban Counter Revolutionaries from Florida had ordered embattled President Trump to make the FINAL STEP toward a militarily-enforced regime-change in Cuba. As outlined to Trump, that also entails regime-changes in Venezuela, Nicaragua, and Bolivia. This war-mongering quartet from Florida consists of the usual suspects, left-to-right: Congressman Mario Diaz-Balart from Little Havana in Miami, Florida's Governor Ron DeSantis, Senator Marco Rubio from Little Havana in Miami, and Senator Rick Scott, who was the Florida Governor that preceded DeSantis. This quartet Tuesday instructed Trump to initiate the impending fireworks in Latin America by recognizing their anti-Cuban man Juan Guaido as the President of oil-rich but financially bankrupt Venezuela. With Trump himself trying desperately to avoid impeachment in the USA, he has no choice but to accept the dictates from Florida's anti-Cuban zealots.

    And so, right on cue, Juan Guaido yesterday was recognized by President Trump as the new President of Venezuela. Because the USA is the world's economic and military Superpower, many nations will follow Trump's lead...led by Brazil's new right-wing President Zair Bolsonaro. Please remember that for three weeks in this forum I have been reminding you that America's top Cuban expert regarding topical events, Tracey Eaton, recently stated that he would "not be surprised" if the U. S. launched an attack on Cuba "from Brazil" that would be far more potent than the April-1961 Bay of Pigs attack on Cuba that was launched from Nicaragua with the cooperation of the then U.S.-friendly dictator Somoza.

      Fully understanding that war is now upon him, Venezuelan President Nicolas Madura has ordered all U. S. diplomats to leave his nation within 72 hours. The Trump war in Latin America to appease the anti-Cuban zealots in Florida and in Congress will in all likelihood easily accomplish two things: {1} Execute regime-changes in Venezuela, Cuba, Nicaragua, and Bolivia; and {2} destabilize Latin America and the Caribbean for decades to come with continuous guerrilla-style warfare. While a military victory by the U.S.-Brazilian forces will be easy, if bloody, it will spawn continuous guerrilla-style revolutions that will plague America and Latin America for decades.

     Wild celebrations -- especially in Caracas, Miami, and Washington -- will mark these events, which may well document January 23rd-2019 as the start of what likely will be a tumultuous and endless conflagration that will engulf America, Latin America, and the Caribbean for many years to come. Like the two-decades-old, trillion-dollar war in Afghanistan that is ongoing, this one will be ongoing too and, perhaps, even more expensive in American dollars and lives. But unlike the wars in Afghanistan, Syria, Yemen, etc., this one will be waged in America's backyard -- the Caribbean and Latin America.

      In other words, this quartet of war-mongers from Florida are taking full advantage of not just another Republican U. S. President but they now have the Perfect Storm in their favor. That's because the embattled Donald Trump must take their dictations to FINALLY overthrow the Cuban Revolution, which on Jan. 1-2019 entered its 7th decade with a non-Castro PRESIDENT and a new CONSTITUTION that will take effect on February 24th. But the four anti-Cuban war-mongers from Florida, shown above, lucked out: They have a U. S. Commander-in-Chief, Donald Trump, that will do their bidding.

      Born after the Jan. 1-1959 triumph of the Cuban Revolution over the U.S.-backed Batista-Mafia dictatorship, Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Balart, as indicated by his dour expression above, now knows that war is coming. His popularity among everyday Cubans resulted from his stint as Education Minister. But he believes in the Revolution and he has vowed to fight to preserve it. And President Diaz-Balart now knows that, regardless of the odds against him, he has no other choice.

     Venezuelan President Nicholas Madura is shown above in Caracas on Jan. 23-2019 defiantly reacting to President Trump's recognition of an anti-Cuban zealot as Venezuela's President. Madura will lose the upcoming war -- as will the leaders of Cuba, Nicaragua, and Bolivia -- but the ashes of that war will vacillate from being warm to hot for decades to come. In other words, this U.S.-Cuban conflict will not involve a Cold War. Fidel Castro's little long-shot Cuban Revolution way back in the 1950s taught Latin America...and the world, for that matter...about local revolutions featuring guerrilla warfare.

Cuba Responds to US Threat

At the World Economic Forum in Davos!

     In recent days Miami's extreme Counter Revolutionary Cuban-Americans in the United States Congress -- Marco Rubio and Mario Diaz-Balart -- have bragged snidely and loudly that they have permission from the Trump administration to sue Cuba and companies around the world who do business with Cuba to recover reparations for Batista-era claims on the island following the triumph of the Cuban Revolution in 1959. Of course, among the families that have tried for decades to sue regarding those topics is the family of the late Mafia kingpin Meyer Lansky. Not even the Batistiano-aligned two-term George W. Bush presidency allowed that to go forward for fear of Cuba getting to sue the U. S. in non-Miami courts. At this week's ongoing World Economic Forum in Davos, Cuba's Minister of Economic Trade and Foreign Investments, Rodrigo Malmierca, is shown above addressing that latest threat from Miami and Washington. Malmierca said, "Such an act could create legal problems all around the world -- for the U. S., for Cuba, and for U.S.-friendly nations that do business with Cuba, such as Spain and Canada that have important hotel and mining ties to Cuba." Some other nations seemed as concerned as Cuba. A leader of one key U.S.-friendly nation told Malmierca, "Even the Bush administration held back from haphazardly punishing other nations just to punish Cuba."

     Just a few hours ago at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Cuban Trade Minister Rodriguez Malmierca stressed to the leaders of the world's richest nations that: "Cuba wants market reform, we want to diversify global trade relationships with nations that want to do business with us." He also was repeatedly asked about the latest assault on Cuba from the Trump administration concerning threats to sue Cuba and any nations doing business with Cuba. He responded to that and also mentioned how drastically things changed with Trump: "The Trump people in Washington have backtracked from the Obama administration that preceded them in the White House. And it's a shame except for a few that benefit from it." Also, Malmierca hinted that in an international courtroom "outside of Miami this time" that Cuba would like to sue the United States for such things as the "illegal" embargo, the "illegal" occupation of Guantanamo Bay, and "deadly" terrorist attacks against "a civilian airplane, Havana hotels, and coastal fishing villages." And Malmierca suggested that de-classified U. S. documents would "support" claims by Cuba. As shown by the photo above, CNBC has an updated video in English with Malmierca about those topics.      The photo above was taken in front of the White House in Washington yesterday, January 22nd, 2019. These four extreme anti-Cuban Counter Revolutionary politicians from Florida had just met with President Trump in their fervent quest to take advantage of Trump's pro-Batistiano presidency while it lasts. On the left above is Congressman Mario Diaz-Balart whose father Rafael was a key Minister in the Batista-Mafia dictatorship and, after being overthrow in 1959 by the Cuban Revolution the extremely wealthy Rafael and his sons Lincoln and Mario have spent all their adult years trying to overthrow Revolutionary Cuba, with Mario and his older brother Lincoln believing that the dysfunctional and distracted Trump affords them that chance. Next to Diaz-Balart is the former Congressman now newly elected Governor of Florida Ron DeSantis whose entire political career has been 100% aligned with the extreme hard-line Cubans in South Florida. At the microphones is Senator Marco Rubio, the Little Havana choirboy in Miami whom Trump has allowed to become America's latest radical Cuban dictator. DeSantis and Rubio just in recent days have saturated Florida's federal and state judicial systems with anti-Cuban zealots, including DeSantis yesterday appointing a non-judge, Carlos Muniz, to a permanent spot on Florida's Supreme Court. Standing to the right above is Florida's former Governor and newly elected U. S. Senator Rick Scott whose entire political career has also been 100% aligned with the Cuban-American extremists in South Florida. Remember that I said this quartet had just met with Trump in the White House yesterday just prior to this photo being taken? Well, not only was recapturing Cuba high on their agenda with Trump but they insisted that Trump makes sure that Juan Guaido is recognized as the new President of oil-rich but fatally flawed Venezuela where  the Cuba-friendly President Nicolas Madura is barely holding on. So, for sure, study what Cuba's Rodrigo Malmierca had to say in Davos yesterday about the U. S., including CNBC's video interview with Malmierca. But also make sure to study the photo above {and its meaning} just outside the White House yesterday. If this quartet -- Diaz-Balart/DeSantis/Rubio/Scott -- are allowed to make America's decisions regarding Cuba and Latin American while Trump remains in the White House then GOD HELP Cuba, Latin America, AMERICA and DEMOCRACY!!! In a two-party political system, the U. S. democracy that allows every Republican Party to permit anti-Cuban extremists to make laws and rules that routinely hurt innocent people on the island and other innocent countries is a Republican Party that even middle-of-the-road democracy-lovers like me believes should be sent packing in Washington and elsewhere, even if the alternative is left-wing extremists. Right-wing thugs, at least at this moment-in-time, are clearly the worse option in a two-party system that is clearly no longer viable. The photo above outside the White House yesterday is a case in point.

Cuba Trys to Remain Cuba

BUT Rubio Wants It!

   The most-read and most-influential journalist at the mighty New York Times is Nicholas Kristof. Totally unafraid of Marco Rubio's insanely cruel dictation of America's Cuban policies, Mr. Kristof's huge New York Times' article last weekend was entitled: "Why Infants May Be More Likely To Die In America Than Cuba." The sub-title to Mr. Kristof's brave article is: "Many Americans Would Welcome Some Traits of the Island's Free, Universal Healthcare." When America's bravest and most influential journalist can write those words and have them published in the mighty New York Times, it's not likely it will inspire this generation of pusillanimous Americans to challenge the self-serving dictation of America's Cuban policy by the likes of Rubio, but at least IT MIGHT embarrass intimidated Americans who allow it to happen decade-after-decade-after-decade.

     Last weekend's Nicholas Kristof article was illustrated by the photo above taken by the New York Times' great photographer Lisette Poole. It shows 31-year-old Adalys Navarro, who is four-months pregnant, getting a routine examination at one of Cuba's ubiquitous health clinics. From the start-to-finish of such pregnancies in Cuba, the care and monitoring is meticulous...and that is the case for all expectant mothers in Cuba WHERE HEATH-CARE FOR ALL IS TOTALLY FREE. In the USA, by far the richest nation in world history, health-care is world-class FOR RICH AMERICANS but often TOO EXPENSIVE for non-rich Americans. In other words, the pregnant Adalys Navarro, who is not rich, can expect better and free health-care in Cuba than a similarly non-rich pregnant woman can expect to get in the United States. That is what Nicholas Kristof's article and Lisette Poole's photo in the New York Times this weekend TRIED to tell the American people. Of course, with Marco Rubio currently dictating BOTH America's Cuban policies AND America's Cuban narratives, Americans are programmed to believe that Nicholas Kristof and Lisette Poole are liars while the self-ordained choirboy from Little Havana in Miami is a saint.

     But, of course, Americans like cancer-patient Mick Phillips and top cancer-expert Dr. Candace Johnson believe Marco Rubio is the self-serving liar. I'll explain why I agree with Mr. Phillips and Dr. Johnson.

    When he was dying of lung cancer, Mick Phillips in Wisconsin was told by his doctors that Cuba had the best lung cancer drug in the world but the U. S. embargo {1} prevented Americans from having access to it; and {2} individual Americans were the only people in the world without the freedom to freely travel to Cuba. But Mick Phillips has a strong will to live. Thus, risking jail time back in the United States because of draconian laws written by and enforced by the likes of Marco Rubio since 1962, Mick Phillips regularly travels to Canada and flies to Cuba to get treated by the lung cancer drug that his doctors recommended. Other Americans suffering from lung cancer or threatened with foot amputations due to diabetes are, like Mick Phillips, risking jail time in the United States when they take their doctors' advice by flying to Cuba to receive what apparently is the world's best treatment for lung cancer and for serious diabetic problems.

      The head of the Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center in Buffalo, New York, is Dr. Candace Johnson. She has been to Cuba to study the island's unique lung cancer drug and Dr. Johnson desperately wants it for her American patients. But, of course, there is a problem in America with such a decent hope from  a decent American.

And that problem is...........

.....the TRUMPIFIED Marco Rubio.

     In January of 2019, as has been the case since the brutal-thieving Batista-Mafia dictatorship was chased out of Havana in January of 1959, a few self-serving Cubans/Cuban-Americans like Marco Rubio, tightly aligned with a few right-wing Americans like John Bolton, have been allowed to dictate America's Cuban policies and America's Cuban narratives. Three generations of cowardly Americans have allowed this to happen in the world's richest and strongest democracy. That diabolical situation whets the revenge, economic, and political whims of a few, such as Rubio and Bolton, but it harms the VAST MAJORITY of Americans, Cuban-Americans, and Cubans on the island.

     This Cuban grandmother...her name is Carmen...and her granddaughter...her name is Mariana...have been unmercifully targeted all their lives by miscreants in a foreign country like Marco Rubio and John Bolton. And, unfortunately, the U. S. democracy since 1959 has been unable to correct that insanely cruel situation.

    Yet, somehow, Cuban children on the island seem to be happier and better-cared-for than non-rich children in the United States. Unlike non-rich children in the USA, these two Cuban children are guaranteed totally free and excellent health-care all their lives and totally free and excellent educations through college. Also, unlike non-rich people in the USA, these two Cuban children's parents are not worried about crime-riddled or drug-related threats to children like these two. Americans who are programmed by the likes of Rubio and Bolton to disbelieve that should at least summon-up the courage and patriotism to insist on visiting Cuba to make personal judgments as opposed to letting Rubio/Bolton-types tell you what and how to think.

    These two amigas...Cuban girls...are fiercely protected on their island as their parents try to protect them from the likes of Rubio and Bolton, their enemies operating in a foreign country. Decent people, I believe, have a problem with that. Thus...decent people, I believe, are rooting for these two little Cuban girls...and for Mick Phillips, Dr. Candace Johnson, etc...and not for the likes of Rubio and Bolton.
