Rubio's Shameful FREE RIDE

From Right-Wing & Left-Wing Media!!
{Wednesday, November 21st, 2018}
     This week -- Nov. 19th, 2018 -- one of the largest banks in France, Societe Generale, agreed to pay $1.3 billion for violating U. S. trade sanctions against Cuba. Since 1962 -- after such things as the 1961 Bay of Pigs military attack and a record number of assassination and terrorist attempts failed to recapture Cuba -- the U. S. imposed  its economic embargo-blockade on Cuba, easily the longest and cruelest such action ever taken by a powerful nation against a much smaller and weaker nation. Thus, for six decades, the ongoing sanctions against Cuba can demand huge payments from companies in friendly, democratic countries that remotely do business with Cuba, and those companies pay-up because of the USA's incomparable influence on international finances. The $1.3 billion Societe Generale payment is another reminder that the mere survival of Revolutionary Cuba for all these decades, as opposed to starvation or capitulation, is one of history's greatest phenomenons, just as the 1959 triumph of the Cuban Revolution over the vile U.S.-backed and Mafia-backed Batista dictatorship still resonates as a unique phenomenon. When a handful of vicious Counter Revolutionaries, including powerful remnants of the Batista regime, can mandate such self-serving and personally lucrative Cuban policies decade-after-decade, its nefarious impact on America's democracy is almost unfathomable...especially during Republican administrations in Washington, which is currently the case. The Societe Generale penalty is merely an example that adds to the wonderment about how Cuba has survived for all these decades faced with an unchecked and endless effort by the world's Superpower to starve the nearby island into submission...AND FOR WHAT PURPOSE -- a return of the Batistianos, the Mafiosi, and the rich and greedy U. S. businessmen?? Sadly, that still appears to be the agenda!! And for political reasons since 1959, there have always been rich and politically powerful Cubans leading the charge from U. S. soil to recapture Cuba. During the height of the Bush dynasty's power, that Cuban was Jorge Mas Canosa, who became a billionaire Counter Revolutionary in Miami. Currently during the Trump era Miami's Marco Rubio holds that designation as politically influential Cubans can soak U. S. taxpayers for tons of dollars for anti-Cuban projects that, as it seems to always turn out, primarily just punishes innocent Cubans on the island while enriching Counter Revolutionaries in Miami. Also, as an additional bonus for the Counter Revolutionaries...oh, YES!!...legal U. S. laws can punish foreign companies and nations if they dare to do business with Cuba. With such laws and now with Trump as Commander-in-Chief, it might be reasonable to expect Rubio to recapture Cuba in...ohhhh...about two weeks.
   The "TRUMP-I-FI-CA-TION" of Little Havana's U. S. Senator Marco Rubio probably says more than anything else about the current state of America's politics {totally sick} and America's media {even sicker}
    First off, as you study the above very accurate graphic that is courtesy of Miami's Progreso Weekly and Alvaro Fernandez, I would like to suggest that the most egregious thing President Trump has done in the past two years occurred when he anointed Marco Rubio America's new Cuban dictator. It was a backdoor Republican political buy-off by Trump who happens to hate Rubio and the feeling is mutual. But Trump, because of Florida's weird and over-sized political significance, needs every Little Havana Republican he can purchase...and Rubio has a well-earned reputation as the most "for sale" politician on the planet.
       Still studying the above graphic?? Good. Of course, the Miami Herald's editorial leader, Cuba-born Fabiola Santiago, seems to agree with Miami's Alvaro Fernandez depiction of Rubio. As Trump's Cuban dictator, Rubio has helped maneuver two famed anti-Cuban zealots -- John Bolton and Mike Pompeo -- into America's two most important Foreign Policy positions. And Rubio has been directly responsible for literally saturating the State Department's Western Hemisphere Affairs department, as well as all other key government agencies that could possibly help eviscerate Cuba, with a litany of the most famed Counter Revolutionary zealots -- from Rubio's old Little Havana mentor Tomas Regalado to Mauricio Claver-Carone to...well, suffice to say that Rubio has either added or seems to be adding to the U. S. government's eternally bloated anti-Cuban payroll just about every well-known and still alive Cuban Counter Revolutionary since 1959.
       Still studying the above graphic?? Great. The point it makes, I believe, is this: While major media outlets in Rubio's hometown of Miami have enough courage and integrity to hold him accountable for his self-serving and anti-democratic Cuban policies, the mainstream U. S. media promotes Rubio as a choirboy. Thus, the right-wing media, led by Fox News, would likely support Rubio if, backed by his Commander-in-Chief, he nuked all men, women and children on the island of Cuba, using typical propaganda such as...Rubio just saved America because we all knew that those Cubans, including the children, were about to attack the United States. Well, such right-wing propaganda is par for the course. But the graphic above reminds us of a Rubio irony. If Rubio evicerated 11.4 million Cubans on the island, the left-wing U. S. media wouldn't have either the guts or the integrity to question him. And amazingly, that includes the left-wing media furiously engaged in impeaching Trump, including CNN, MSNBC, NBC, CBS, ABC, the Washington Post, and the New York Times.
  Still studying the above graphic?? Wonderful. In other words, the Trump-Rubio alliance reveals two rather disturbing aspects concerning the severely challenged U. S. democracy: {1} America's two-party political system needs at least one non-corrupt and non-extremist political party; and {2} America needs a mainstream media that features real electronic and print journalists as opposed to the current overwhelming make-up of left-wing or right-wing propagandists and pundits. That situation may appeal to the trained seals as well as the left-wing/right-wing extremists, but it leaves out the 80%-or-so of Americans who could be described as moderate, free-thinking lovers of the democracy America once had.
Regalado, mentor; Rubio, student.
Rubio-Trump; an unholy alliance??
      A U. S. political system and a mainstream U. S media that doesn't challenge a Marco Rubio as the Cuban dictator on U. S. soil is, I think, equivalent to a U. S. political system and a mainstream U. S. media that are the exact opposite of what the Founding Fathers envisioned for America in 1776.
     Yes. The Trumpified Marco Rubio is using language of democracy to subvert democracy. And sadly, both the right-wing and left-wing U. S. media are his puppeteers and stooges.
     This is not to suggest that Americans should care about Cuba. But I would like to suggest that Americans should care about America.

Cuba's INCREDIBLE Survival

Why Can't America Recapture Cuba?
{Monday, November 19th, 2018}
       The Naphtai Junior photo above headlined a major story in the Sunday, Nov. 18-2018 Jamaica Observer. It sort of makes one wonder why all the nations in the Caribbean, with the exception of Cuba, are not extremely wealthy and prosperous. On the left above is Oscar Derby enjoying a joyous handshake with Barrington Miller, two of Jamaica's leading businessmen. They are dynamos in a project called JISCO Special Economic Zone that will break ground next month thanks to a $2.5 billion investment from JISCO, a Chinese company. The project is on the Jamaican soil where an old World War II airbase once existed. The article suggested that eventually JISCO might inject a million new well-paying jobs into the Jamaican economy. Mr. Miller said, "It's a game-changer for Jamaica."
      As the above map indicates, Jamaica is due south of Cuba in the Caribbean. Cuba is the largest, most coveted, and {arguably} the most beautiful Caribbean island nation. January of 1959 was the historic month the Cuban Revolution shocked the world by overthrowing the U.S.-backed Batista-Mafia dictatorship. From that day till this day -- January-1959 till November-2018 -- an unchecked effort by the nearby United States, aligned with two rich and powerful generations of transplanted Batistianos-Mafiosi, has tried but, incredibly, failed to recapture the island. For all those 6+ decades the United States has been the world's economic and military Superpower. Additionally, that incomparable economic and military power, for that entire period, has been able to greatly influence all other nations...in the region and around the world...in various degrees to accept and/or not interfere in the USA's reconfigured designs on the Caribbean's largest and most coveted island nation. On the other hand, all other Caribbean nations, such as Jamaica, can benefit from the economic and military competition between the world Superpowers -- such as the USA and China, the world's two most prolific economic powers -- buying up influence in Jamaica and other Caribbean nations. Yet, the USA's influence countering even China has blunted Chinese and all other investments in Cuba, partly because the USA's economy is tightly tied to that of Communist China. And that's why the Jamaica Observer article on Nov. 18-2018 creates fresh wonder about how and why, incredibly, Cuba's government has survived since 1959 and how and why all the other Caribbean nations aren't particularly rich and prosperous.
    The Jamaica Observer is an excellent Caribbean newspaper and its daily political cartoons are world-class. The one above published on Nov. 18-2018 helps explain that the insatiable power of the U. S. dollar can purchase a whole lot of anti-Cuban collaborators, even in the Caribbean.
     If you study this Latin America map, you will detect that Brazil is by far the largest Latin American nation...as well as its richest and most populated. Just a few years ago Brazil had a left-wing Dilma Rousseff-led government that was a powerful supporter of and investor in Revolutionary Cuba...as were the leaders of the three important nations due southeast of Brazil -- Bolivia, Argentina, and Chile...not to mention oil-rich Venezuela on Brazil's northern border. But things have drastically changed in Latin America, most notably in mighty Brazil and struggling Venezuela.
    Latin American Superpower Brazil now has a new President, former military officer and military-lover Jair Bolsonaro. Now 63-years-old, Bolsonaro had always been considered far too much of an avowed right-wing extremist to be remotely considered as presidential material, but that changed drastically in 2018 just as the United States changed drastically in 2016 when the also very improbable Donald Trump got elected President of the United States. Now instead of Cuba-friendly Obama as the U. S. President and the Cuba-friendly Rousseff as the Brazilian President, the world Superpower United States and the Latin American Superpower Brazil have two Presidents -- Bolsonaro and Trump -- determined to starve and overthrow Revolutionary Cuba.
     And so, with President Donald Trump in the United States and President Jair Bolsonaro in Brazil, there appears to be a concerted effort...unlike all previous efforts since 1959...to finally overthrow Cuba's revolutionary government. Cuban intelligence, considered among the most acute and astute in the world, believes that the Trump-Bolsonaro timetable for the demise of Revolutionary Cuba is the early spring of 2019.
    Cuba's new President Miguel Diaz-Canel, on his recent 5-day visit to the New York City that included two UN speeches, let it be known...publicly and privately...that he is very aware of the Trump administration's conspiring with other right-wing forces, most notably the startling rise of Jair Bolsonaro in Brazil, to set the spring timetable for Cuba's demise.
     Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel has just returned to Havana after a whirlwind trip that took him to France, China, Russia, Vietnam, North Korea, Laos, and England. And then -- at 2:29 P. M. on Nov. 14, 2018 -- President Diaz-Canel posted the above statement on his Twitter account. Note his use of the words "los colaboradores Cubanos han prestado un valioso servicio al pueblo de Brazil." {"Cuban collaborators have rendered a valuable service to the people of Brazil."}. He was referencing the harsh words against Cuba that Brazil's new President Bolsonaro unfurled when he ended a program started by the Rousseff presidency in 2013 whereby thousands of Cuban doctors worked in the poorest rural areas of Brazil. To President Diaz-Canel, President Bolsonaro's bitter anti-Cuban words signaled Brazil's start of a vicious assault on Cuba in collaboration with President Trump and the United States.
    Cuba's first conclusion that President Trump intended for a spring timetable to essentially return Cuba to the Counter Revolutionaries headquartered in Miami's Little Havana neighborhood was derived from U. S. media coverage of the above speech. That occurred when Trump, early-on in his presidency, went to Little Havana and, while standing before a Bay of Pigs military assault banner, promised an extremist Counter Revolutionary choir that he, as U. S. President, would finally avenge their humiliating Bay of Pigs defeat during the April-1961 air-land-and-sea military attack on Cuba.
     Images like the Miami Herald photo above have refurbished Cuba's assessment of the Trump administration's spring-2019 timetable for the demise of revolutionary rule on the island.  For decades the three Counter Revolutionary extremists depicted above -- all products of the self-serving Bush dynasty -- have led unrelenting efforts in Miami, in the U. S. Congress, and in all Republican White Houses to regain control of Cuba. Left to right are: Lincoln Diaz-Balart, Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, and Mario Diaz-Balart. At least one or, at the same time, all three have represented Miami's Little Havana in the U. S. Congress. The Havana-born Ros-Lehtinen, who is finally retiring from her seat, has been in Congress since 1989 when the ambitious Jeb Bush was her Campaign Manager; the Havana-born Lincoln Diaz-Balart quickly followed Ros-Lehtinen to Congress but retired his safe seat to concentrate his Counter Revolutionary political and economic efforts back in Miami; and Mario Diaz-Balart who remains a safe and re-elected incumbent in the U. S. Congress. Ros-Lentinen is from a famously anti-Revolutionary Cuban family. And the father of the Diaz-Balart brothers, Rafael Diaz-Balart, was a key Minister in the overthrown Batista dictatorship who, after 1959, became one of the richest and most powerful all-time Counter Revolutionaries on U. S. soil. Although there are well over two million moderate Cuban-Americans who desire saner relations with Cuba, including top Cuban-American businessmen in Miami, only Counter Revolutionary extremists, for the most part, have been allowed, since 1959, serious input into U.S.-Cuban relations...with extreme wealth and, if necessary, dynamic force, predicating the extreme viewpoints. To this day, even the left-wing U. S. news media that is fervently trying to impeach Trump will not dare question any extremely cruel Trump-authorized cruelty against totally innocent Cubans on the island. Thus, the distorted viewpoints espoused by Counter Revolutionary extremists like Ros-Lehtinen and the Diaz-Balart brothers continues to present the notion that Cubans on the island long for a return of the Batistianos-Mafiosi and fervently oppose their revolutionary government. That simply is not so but even the furiously left-wing/anti-Trump news media in the United States does not have the guts to mention that very salient fact, revealing anew the cancerous effect the Batista-Mafia rule in Cuba and the Counter Revolutionary forces in the U. S. have had on both America and Democracy ever since the 1950s.
  Every non-idiotic news source in Washington knows all about John Bolton, and what they know is this: Bolton, an infamous war-mongering product of the Bush presidencies, is totally unfit to be America's top National Security Adviser, but he IS President Trump's National Security Adviser, one who has long advocated the overthrow of Cuba's revolutionary government. The graphic above, compiled by Russia's RT news agency, references Bolton's alleged trip to Moscow to get President Putin's assurance, among other things, that mighty Russia will not interfere with Bolton's and Trump's designs on Cuba, which Cuba believes is an overthrow of Cuba by the Spring of 2019.
    It appears that John Bolton's recent trip to Miami, as chronicled by the above photo, had two distinct purposes: {1} To officially declare the Trump administration's war on Cuba; and{2} to ascertain whether the gutless mainstream U. S. news media would react negatively to that declaration of war...or even react at all. Well, Bolton got what he expected, which is: Because Cuba was the target of Bolton's Declaration of War, the gutless mainstream U. S. news media didn't have the guts to question the mendacity Bolton intends for 11.4 million totally innocent Cubans, and that shamefully includes the left-wing news media trying desperately to eliminate Trump, including CNN, MSNBC, NBC, CBS, ABC, New York Times and Washington Post.
     Therefore, without a decent news media to rely on, Americans...at least those who haven't personally visited the island...are supposed to meekly accept the lie that most Cubans on the island LONG FOR A RETURN OF THE U.S.-BACKED HAVANA MOB THAT RULED CUBA UP UNTIL 3:00 A. M. ON JANUARY 1, 1959...AT WHICH TIME THE FAMOUS THUGS FLED TO SAFER HAVENS, NAMELY MIAMI, NEWARK, AND OTHER U. S. SANCTUARIES.
    I agree with The Woman Project.org that the all-time greatest female guerrilla fighter and revolutionary leader, Celia Sanchez, had the definitive quotation related to the Cuban Revolution that would not have been won without her. As you can see above, that quotation is: "We rebels...get far too much credit for winning the revolution. Our enemies deserve most of the credit, for being greedy cowards and idiots." And you know what? That quotation also probably explains another incredible phenomenon -- which is how and why Celia's pugnacious Cuban Revolution has managed to rule Cuba from 1959 till today...and PROBABLY WILL CONTINUE TO RULE CUBA AT LEAST TILL THE SPRING OF 2019.

The Havana-Little Havana War

Trump-Rubio Plan Cuba's Demise!!
{Saturday, November 17th, 2018}
    Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel is shown above on a stopover in London this week after a grueling trip that landed him first in Paris and continued on to Russia, China, Vietnam, North Korea, and Laos. Back in Havana, Diaz-Canel is dealing with renewed Trump-Rubio-Bolton-Pompeo threats from Washington and with newly elected right-wing Presidents in Latin America who appear anxious to help Washington finally overthrow Cuba's tenacious revolutionary government.
Photo courtesy: Dado Goldieri/New York Times.
     The photo above shows Cuban Doctor Maireilys Alvarez Rodriguez working at a health clinic in a rural area of Brazil. The image illustrated an Oct. 14-2018 New York Times article written by Shasta Darlington from Sao Paulo, Brazil. The article's title: "Cuba Is Pulling Doctors From Brazil After 'Derogatory' Comments by Bolsonaro." In cooperation with the Pan American Health Organization, Cuba has employed thousands of doctors in Brazilian rural areas since 2013 that often otherwise had no other doctors. But that was when the left-wing Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff was Cuba's powerful Latin American friend. Brazil's new President is Jair Bolsonaro, a very controversial right-wing extremist. That stark contrast is significant because Brazil is Latin America's largest, most populated, and richest nation, and now a nation that will work hand-in-hand with extreme anti-Cuban elements in the United States. Needless to say, the "collaboration" is of dire concern to Cuba's new President Miguel Diaz-Canel.

     Like America's President Trump, Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel makes use of Twitter to express his feelings. Wednesday at 2:29 P. M. Diaz-Canel posted the above Tweet for the world to see. Its translation to English, I believe, is important: "More doctors. With dignity, deep sensitivity, professionalism, dedication and altruism, the Cuban collaborators have subtracted a valuable service to the people of Brazil. Attitudes with such a human dimension must  be respected and defended. We are Cuba." Diaz-Canel was referencing the decision of Brazil's new President, a renowned and controversial right-winger, to discontinue Cuban doctors working in the poorest Brazilian neighborhoods.
     A rightward tilt in Latin America has hurt Cuba. Just a few years ago the three women depicted above were Presidents of Brazil, Chile, and Argentina...Dilma Rousseff, Michelle Bachelet, and Cristina Fernandez. All three were not only huge supporters of Cuba but all three worshiped Fidel Castro and his Cuban Revolution. Now that support has diminished, partially due to the economic influence of the United States, which spends a lot of money backing or buying up "friendly" nations and a lot of money undermining Cuba.
    The Cuban diplomat in charge of keeping an hour-by-hour, unblinking eye on Miami's ageless and still concerted effort to recapture Havana is Carlos Fernandez de Cossio. This week he has spoken out about two particular anti-Cuban developments:
        {1} Recently in Miami, the infamously war-mongering John Bolton, speaking on behalf of President Trump and Little Havana's U. S. Senator Rubio, essentially declared war on Cuba and two of Cuba's allies -- Venezuela and Nicaragua. Regarding that, Cossio said, "We knew, when the Republican Trump succeeded the Democrat Obama as U. S. President, drastic changes in Obama's reasonable Cuban diplomacy would occur. And when Trump appointed Bolton as his top National Security person, we expected Bolton to try to persuade Trump to do what Bolton tried for years to get President Bush to do, which was to declare actual war on Cuba. Bush came close but didn't quite oblige Bolton. Of course, Trump might."
            {2} On November 6th, 2018, the important Mid-Term U. S. elections sharply impacted the U. S. government midway through President Trump's first term as President. Thus, those elections impacted Cuba regarding the degree to which the anti-Cuban extremists will be able to support Bolton's declaration of war. Cossio in Havana has worried mightily about what he calls "the 4-stage Perfect Storm in the United States that threatens Cuba." With that conclusion, Cossio rates the four stages, in this order: Trump, Rubio, Pompeo, and Bolton. As President, concerned with Little Havana's dominance of Florida's powerful political influence, Trump anointed Little Havana's Rubio as the director, some say Dictator, of the USA's Cuban policies. But the "Perfect Storm" evolved when Trump appointed Mike Pompeo Secretary of State and John Bolton National Security Adviser...meaning well-known anti-Cuban zealots were/are the two most powerful masters of Trump's foreign policies...and Cuba is the foreign nation the USA since 1959 has long desired to re-DOMINATE. As registered by the Miami Herald, Cossio summed up the U. S. Mid-Term elections with this quote: "It seems that an aggressive approach to Cuba doesn't win ALL the South Florida votes anymore."
      Highly respected worldwide, Science Magazine and Science Magazine.org on Nov. 16, 2018, had an article entitled: "Halt Speculation on U. S. Embassy in Cuba." Related to the two-year and seemingly endless "mystery" of U. S. claims about Americans injured in Havana by sonic or microwave or...whatever...attacks, this article is well worth reading for an astute update.
    In Havana Carlos de Cossio, who is in charge of Cuba's USA affairs, has also grown increasingly impatient with endless U. S. claims regarding alleged sonic attacks on U. S. diplomats in Cuba. So he called a news conference to state: "The key question is who benefited." He stressed that the allegations have gone on for over a year-and-a-half to hurt Cuba, especially regarding tourism, and "to help Rubio further target Cuba. All the while just the accusation hurts Cuba while it helps Rubio's attempt --  supported by Trump, Pompeo, and Bolton -- to torment Cubans on the island and try to recapture our country. It the U. S. media has the freedom it is reputed to have, why doesn't it ask the key question...who does it hurt and who does it help?"
"Mystery" attacks after all these months?
But as long as they hurt Cuba...
and help Rubio...
the "claims" will continue.
    In other words, Pompeo seems to want the accusations against Cuba to last as long as possible because they are working for USA's Counter Revolutionary zealots and because the U. S. news media won't ask the pertinent question -- which is, who are the accusations hurting and who are they helping, and might the answer indicate who's responsible
     The U. S. news media also doesn't have the courage to question why John Bolton, after three decades of championing the overthrow of Cuba's revolutionary government, may finally get his chance to accomplish that feat as Trump's National Security Adviser. Cuba believes that Bolton, on his recent trip to Miami as shown above, declared war on the island.
    Like, at last count, fifteen other powerful Trump appointees, John Bolton is strictly a product of the Bush dynasty that for many decades has been tightly and self-servingly aligned with the Batistiano-Mafiosi extremists ousted in 1959 by the Cuban Revolution. The U. S. media knows but doesn't dare mention why President George W. Bush named Bolton the U. S. Ambassador to the United Nations on a "recess" appointment but pulled back the nomination before it could be approved by the Senate. Of course, the war-mongering Bolton would never have been approved by the Senate but, with Rubio alerting Trump to all the anti-Cuban extremists from the Bush dynasty, Trump gets to anoint Bolton as America's war-mongering National Security Adviser who doesn't need Senate confirmation.
    President Trump, taking his Cuban orders from Little Havana choirboy Rubio, is in the process of reversing his predecessor Barack Obama's sane Cuban policies related to universally condemned embarrassments such as...the U. S. military occupation-theft of Guantanamo Bay, the Embargo-Blockade, etc., etc. Yet, even the vast U. S. left-wing news media this is desperately trying to impeach Trump doesn't have the guts to critique or even comment on the Trump-Rubio atrocities related to Cuba.
     While the thuggish right-wing U. S. media, of course, gives Rubio dire promotion and a free ride in his self-serving targeting of totally innocent Cubans on the island, even the left-wing/anti-Trump media in the U. S. is too afraid to hold Rubio accountable for his gutless assaults on innocent Cubans...a fact pointed out by Rubio's hometown Miami Herald.
    The Miami Herald's top columnist and editorial chief, Cuba-born Fabiola Santiago, blasted Trump for anointing Rubio as America's Cuban dictator. Then the Miami Herald, as shown above, let four young Cuban female mothers and entrepreneurs explain in a heart-wrenching article written by the four Cuban women named above why the gutless but unchecked Rubio was being allowed to punish their families. Those four young women, as you can see above, begged Rubio to meet with them and listen to how he is hurting Cuban children but, of course, Rubio only listens to Counter Revolutionary extremists and to his litany of billionaire political donors.
    Currently Rubio has his ambitious political soulmate Nikki Haley as his anti-Cuban spokesperson at the United Nations but she is resigning to better pursue the Rubio-Haley presidential ambitions while another Rubio puppet,  Heather Nauert, currently at the State Department, will soon be the anti-Cuban UN Ambassador.
     The Miami Herald photo above reflects the fact that the Nov. 6-2018 mid-term elections revealed that the Cuban-extremists stranglehold on Miami's and Florida's political landscape is gradually lessening. Havana-born Counter Revolutionary extremist Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, in the lower-right above, was hand-delivered to the U. S. Congress from Little Havana in Miami way back in 1989 by the self-serving Bush dynasty that wanted Jeb Bush to become Florida's governor, which happened, and then America's president, which didn't happen. Finally, after three decades in Congress, Ros-Lehtinen has just retired and her hand-picked successor was supposed to be high-profile Cuban-American television journalist Maria Elvira Salazar who is shown in the center above. But 75-year-old former University of Miami President and long-time Clinton political ally Donna Shalala defeated Salazar, proving that Ros-Lehtinen and other Counter Revolutionary zealots don't TOTALLY dictate Miami politics now.
     In fact, the Nov. 6-2018 elections voted out a Miami Counter Revolutionary Cuban-American incumbent in the U. S. Congress named Carlos Curbelo who is shown above on the far-left. Curbelo was ousted by newcomer Debbie Mucarsel-Powell. But Miami is still Miami and Florida is still Florida, and that's a state with an often decisive number of electoral votes that can decide presidential elections. The whole world watched the U. S. resemble a Banana Republic in 2000 when the counting of "hanging chads" and other questionable votes prolonged the election agonizingly and then ended up putting Counter Revolutionary darling George W. Bush in the White House although Al Gore, who would have treated Cuban issues decently, got more national votes. And now in mid-November of 2018 the Nov. 6 election is undergoing the same type of Banana Republic treatment in Florida. It's not official as of Nov. 15-2018 who will be Florida's Governor and Florida's next U. S. Senator. But it is apparent that Counter Revolutionary extremists Ron DeSantis and Rick Scott, both totally aligned with the Little Havana extremists, will end up as Florida's new Senator and Governor respectively. Also, Mario Diaz-Balart, shown above second from the right next to Ros-Lehtinen, has been reelected to the U. S. Congress from Miami. Mario is the brother of Lincoln Diaz-Balart who is shown above at the podium at the Rubio love-fest. The Diaz-Balart brothers are the sons of Rafael Diaz-Balart, the former Minster in the ousted Batista dictatorship and, after 1959, one of the richest and most ardent anti-Castro zealots South Florida has ever known. For the past two decades one or both of the Diaz-Balart brothers have been in the U. S. Congress as ardent Counter Revolutionary zealots. So, if you study the photo above, you'll comprehend that the grip of Counter Revolutionary extremists on Miami and Florida politics is still omnipotent but not quite as strong as it has been since the Bush dynasty started putting a long-line of extremist Cuban-Americans like Ros-Lehtinen in the U. S. Congress beginning in 1989, with moderate Cuban-Americans seemingly not eligible for important political positions.
      But rest assured, in or out of the U. S. Congress, the ultra-powerful Diaz-Balart brothers Lincoln and Mario as well as the newly retired after three decades in Congress Ileana Ros-Lehtinen will remain prime Miami puppeteers pulling the Counter Revolutionary strings in South Florida. They have the finances and the clout to do that.
     And lastly, Antonio Guterres is among the latest powerful and decent international figures to point out the gutless nature of America's Batistiano/Mafiosi-directed Cuban policies. Mr. Guterres, from Portugal, is the Secretary-General at the United Nations in New York. A few days ago Mr. Guterres at a news conference condemned the U. S. Embargo-Blockade against Cuba anew. He pointed out that India was not allowed to send a shipment of children's aspirin to Cuba because the Superpower U. S. can punish nations, large or small, for "even aiding Cuban children." So all nations, as Mr. Guterres acknowledges, must be leery of defying the USA's infamous but very legal Helms-Burton Act that a very reluctant but very scared President Clinton had to sign in 1996.
     I hope it doesn't bring tears to the eyes of democracy-loving Americans, but I invite them to study the photo above of President Clinton signing Helms-Burton in 1996. Please note that the big man standing near Clinton's right shoulder is Senator Bob Menendez of the powerful Counter Revolutionary contingent in Newark, New Jersey. And the lady in red appearing over Clinton's right shoulder is Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, the Havana-born Counter Revolutionary extremist from Miami who served in the U. S. Congress from 1989 till she retired in 2018. And, oh yes, in the upper-right is Havana-born Lincoln Diaz-Balart, the ardent son of an ardent former Batista Minister.
    Now study this photo and judge it for yourself. It shows what I believe was a very scared President Clinton glancing up at the clapping Bob Menendez right after Helms-Burton was signed into law in 1996. Even the decent and determined President Obama could not blunt Helms-Burton because only Congress can do that and the Miami-Newark Counter Revolutionaries won't let Congress change it. Helms-Burton is simply too revengeful in its punishment of Revolutionary Cuba and, please understand, far too lucrative in making selected Cuban-Americans rich with bundles of unending tax dollars. {To confirm that, dial up 8 recent investigative articles by respected journalist Tracey Eaton}. And by the way, the clapping Bob Menendez is still in the U. S. Senate because he was re-elected yet again on Nov. 6-2018. His reelection was a foregone conclusion, some believe, only because the election and the massive federal government corruption trial against Menendez were both held in New Jersey.
     For years the U. S. government conducted expensive investigations into alleged multiple corruption and bribery charges related to U. S. Senator Bob Menendez. But then a long, expensive trial in New Jersey ended in a hung jury and the federal government, after first vowing to retry Menendez, changed its mind. But the salacious charges, the trial, and then the reelection of Menendez to the U. S. Senate, where he has recently been the anti-Cuban Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee, are reminders to many that the Cuban Revolution, by overthrowing the U.S.-backed Batista-Mafia dictatorship on Jan. 1-1959, has actually changed the United States even more than it has changed Cuba. After all,  the United States is the world's economic and military Superpower while Cuba is merely a small but pugnacious island nation that had struggled valiantly to attain independence after suffering for centuries from foreign domination and exploitation, especially by Spain up until 1898 and by the United States from 1898 till 1959. And since 1959 the reconfiguration of the ousted Batista dictatorship on U. S. soil has evolved into 6+ decades of what is essentially the Havana vs. Little Havana War THAT HAS CONSUMED MUCH OF AMERICA'S ONCE-GAUDY INTERNATIONAL REPUTATION.
But Big Havana is still Cuba's.
Because the Havana Mob fled Cuba in 1959.
