Cuba TODAY: October 6-2021

CUBA'S DAY OF INFAMY!!

Today in Havana this Grandmother has been crying all day...and not because of either the genocidal U. S. Blockade or the COVID-19 Pandemic. She is crying because today -- October 6th-2021 -- is the 45th Anniversary of a Day that will forever remain a DAY of INFAMY in Cuba. And so today...this actual Grandmother is crying in Havana as she still mourns the teenage son that was murdered on October 6th-1976 by well-known Cubans well-protected by and well-paid by the U. S. government during its ever-lasting efforts to overthrow Revolutionary Cuba.
While Americans are programmed not to care, for the past 45 years the moment and date above has been seared in the memories of Cubans on the island each second since 12:23 PM on October 6-1976. That was the moment and the date that the civilian Cubana Flight 455 airplane was blown into the ocean by a terrorist bomb...killing all 72 innocent people on board, including two dozen teenage athletes who were returning to Havana after winning Gold Medals in a Central American Tournament in Caracas, Venezuela. ACCORDING TO DE-CLASSFIED U. S. DOCUMENTS BOTH BEFORE AND AFTER THE DISASTER, the U. S. had the names of the well-known Cuban terrorists who had planned and executed the event.
Today -- October 6th-2021 -- this photo shows Cubans in Havana remembering their loved ones murdered on this day exactly 45 years ago by Counter Revolutionary U. S. Cubans.
On October 6th-1976 this historic photo shows a sister and a mother who were waiting at the Havana Airport for the return of their brother and son on CUBAN FLIGHT 455. The moment depicted above shows the moment the sister and mother were officially told that the airplane had crashed into the ocean and that there were no survivors.
Every day that has passed since October 6th-2021 sisters, brothers, mothers, fathers, and grandparents on the island have paid homage and tears on behalf of the precious victims of the terrorist bombing of Cubana Flight 455. But for all the while since October 6th-1976 Americans have been told that such victims were merely "collarateral DAMAGE" as Luis Posada Carriles once famously said in a NY Times interview. Posada and Orlando Bosch, were the two most famed Cuban terrorists mentioned by those de-classified U. S. documents related to the bombing of Cubana Flight 455. But for decades both Posada and Bosch proudly used their ties to Little Havana/Miami and the U. S. government to commit countless Counter Revolutionary terror against Revolutionary Cuba...and both Posada and Bosch didn't mind bragging about such events.
Of course, both Bosch & Posada lived out long and heralded lives before dying of old age in South Florida as cherished Little Havana/Miami heroes.
Many declassified U. S. documents chronicle the terrorism committed by Posada, Bosch, etc. against innocent Cubans for decades,  such as shown above.
So, of course, have brave non-U. S. media sources such as the great London-based BBC, as shown above.
But, tuh...this montage above shows Luis Posada Carriles being interviewed by Maria Elvira Salazar. In the history of the Miami media, Salazar is the most famous and most notable Spanish journalist. Her long softball interview with Posada depicted above is still easily accessed on YouTube.
GUESS WHAT??
As of January of 2021, Maria Elvira Salazar became the latest Little Havana-propelled member of the United States Congress. Of course, getting your Cuban information from Little Havana politicians and journalists like Congresswoman Salazar is, uh, problematic to say the least.
But the truth is, every day of every year since 1976  -- and not JUST on October 6th-2021 -- Cubans on the island have mourned "The victims of the terrorist Posada Carriles & the CIA."
Of course, that Cuban mother shown above surrounded by her friends and relatives in Havana, to this day is devastated for her son and the other victims of CUBANA FLIGHT 455 way back on October 6th-1976, exactly 45 years ago. In Miami courtrooms there have been millions of dollars doled out to Cubans who have been able to sue Cuba for whatever they want to sue Cuba for, with Cuba, of course, never even represented. I wonder IF someone like that mother in Havana shown above could ever sue in a U. S. courtroom for the death of her son on CUBANA FLIGHT 455??
Posada a Miami hero.
A sister & mother in Havana.
October 6, 1976.
A Day of Infamy for Cuba.
But not for the United States.

Cuba Plans Surviving COVID & BLOCKADE

Above are the COVID-19 statistics posted today -- October 5th-2021 -- by Cuba for the past 24 hours. It shows that the surge of the Pandemic on the island is subsiding with its massive vaccine campaign although the numbers are still crucial. As shown above the total of deaths {fallecidos} in the past 24 hours are 45 to push the overall total to 7663. The confirmed new cases are 4793 with Havana cases sharply down to 265 in the past 24 hours, but Pinar del Rio's total of new cases, 1439, remain the highest on the island.
The confirmed new COVID cases today are 4793. In the lower-central of the graphic above, you can note that 2616 new cases involved females and 2177 cases in males. Also, there are 857 new cases in Cubans under 20 years of age. These statistics today are not good but the trend is surely downward.
The Cuban media today reported that the U. S. weekly magazine Newsweek saluted Cuba as a "...small nation {that} is unique in the entire Western Hemisphere...in the production of its own vaccines against COVID 19 and the immunization rates of its population...which it considered among the highest in the world."
Cuban mothers, who loudly decry the Trump-Biden blockade of the island, are now giving Thumbs Up to the Cuban government for its aggressive vaccination of their children.
Cuba today announced a "...new Portfolio of Opportunities for Foreign Investment by adding 175 new projects that pay directly to the National Economic and Social Development Plan until 2030." The new project, as shown above, "...will seek to attract foreign capital to revive the national economy, hit by the pandemic and the blockade imposed by the United States."
The U. S. media...especially a plethora of well-funded Counter Revolutionary publishers based in Little Havana/Miami and even Havana...daily promote massive efforts to overthrow Revolutionary Cuba by portraying Revolutionary Cuba as the most vile nation in the world. Today Juan Antonio Quintanilla, Cuba's permanent representative to the United Nations office in Geneva, had an impassioned speech in which he said, "The gargantuan U. S. media is the elephant in Western Hemisphere's media circles and that is why the world is told that the brutal and mafia-run rule prior to the Revolution was a world-class and decent government while Cuba since 1959 has been run by revolutionary thieves and murderers. If any of that portrayal was true, the Cuban people themselves would have risen up since 1959 to reshape their island land. But in Geneva I reiterate before the UN Human Rights Council today Cuba's rejection of all forms of racism, discrimination, xenophobia, and other manifestations of intolerances. The Greater Antilles will always fight for social justice."
Cuba remains the largest and the most beautiful nation in the Caribbean but the Revolutionary Cuban government has faced predictions of its demise every day since January 1st of 1959...but today, October 5-2021, it remains, perhaps, the most surprising survivor on the planet. And for that reason, I think, Revolutionary Cuba has a right to present its side of the Cuba-U.S. conundrum, as Juan Antonio Quintanilla did today at the UN Office in Geneva, Switzerland.

Venezuela Wins, Cuba Sabotaged at U-23 Baseball World Cup

Cuba Was Only Nation Sabotaged In Mexico!!

Of Course!!!

CNN's bureau chief in Havana, Patrick Oppmann, authored the prime Cuban article that circled the globe in the past two days: "CUBA LASHES OUT AFTER YOUNG BASEBALL PLAYERS DEFECT IN MEXICO." He was referring to the U-23 World CUP Baseball event in Mexico that ended yesterday -- Oct. 3-2021 -- with Venezuela defeating Mexico 4-0 in the Championship game. Of course, in the 12-nation tournament only the Cuban National Team was sabotaged from being allowed to win the important event. Yet, Cuba still won six games and reached the Super Medal Round by beating Caribbean baseball power Dominican Republic 6-to-2...even though by then 7 of Cuba's best players had defected from the Cuban team that had started in Mexico with 24 players. But by the time the Super Medal Round was completed, as Patrick Oppmann reported for CNN and the world: "Eleven young baseball players defected from the Cuban national team during a tournament in Mexico for players under the age of 23. The remaining players on the team were returning home to Cuba on Monday."
Of course, what Cuba experienced in the U-23 BASEBALL WORLD CUP in Mexico in the past ten days was what the baseball-loving island of Cuba experiences in all such international sporting events. The same thing happened, for example, when Cuba had to go to South Florida back in May for the pre-Qualifying tournament prior to this summer's Tokyo Olympics. In other words, human traffickers...as well as a few rich and powerful Cubans in the United States...freely benefit from the genocidal U. S. Embargo-Blockade of Cuba, a blight on mankind that was first imposed in 1962 and was enlarged into both a genocidal and lucrative enterprise in 1996 when ultra-rich and powerful ultra-Counter Revolutionary Cuban-Americans -- the Bush Dynasty-propelled Jorge Mas Canosa and Lincoln Diaz-Balart -- were allowed to ram the lucrative and genocidal Helms-Burton Act through the U. S. Congress. To this day the Helms-Burton Act means genocide for Cubans on the island while continuing to greatly enrich and empower selected U. S. Cubans. And that is why...to this day...there should be an X and a skull attached to any image of the Helms-Burton Act!!!!!

US Blockade Blocks Cuban Baseball

 But Human Traffickers Love it!!

Cubans in Cuba verily love baseball and, per capita, produce the best baseball players in the world...as indicated by the island's historic dominance of baseball in the Olympics and, despite the everlasting U. S. embargo/blockade of Cuba since 1962, Cuba still produces far more than its share of U. S. Major League players, including four superstar hitters in the batting order of the Chicago White Sox, one of this month's World Series favorites. But back in May of this year the U. S. hosted the pre-Qualifying for the Tokyo Olympics in South Florida. Even before he walked through the door of his hotel in West Palm Beach, Cuba's best player, Cesar Prieto, jumped into a running and waiting car and was whisked to points unknown, apparently by the expected human traffickers. So Cuba's baseball didn't qualify for the Tokyo Olympics but still sent enough athletes in other sports to finish 14th in the overall medal Olympic medal count, including 5 Gold Medals.
Last week Cuba sent 24 players to the 12-nation U-23 Baseball World CUP in Mexico. Not surprisingly, human traffickers were waiting to whisk about Cuba's best players again...surely the ones that might be able to sign lucrative U. S. contracts or just to belittle Cuba by whisking away as many players as they could. Yet, as the defections mounted, Cuba still won 4 straight games, including a 6-to-2 victory over the Dominican Republic that put Cuba in the Super Round.
Then after Cuba came from 5-0 down to register a scintillating 9-8 walk-off 9-to-8 victory over Panama, the depleted Cuban team joined Mexico, Venezuela, and Colombia as the Four Teams to advance to the Medal Round in the U-23 Baseball World CUP in Mexico. And Cuba played valiantly tonight -- Saturday, October 2-2021 -- but lost 5-to-3 in the game that decided the Bronze Medal.
By the time Cuba lost the Bronze Medal game 5-to-3 to Colombia tonight in Mexico, the team that started with 24 players had lost nine key players to defections. The 9th defection was 22-year-old right-handed pitching ace Bryan Chi Montoya, who had been the ace pitcher for island's most famed team, the renowned Havana Industriales.
Yes, ace Cuban right-handed pitcher Bryan Chi was the 9th player that defected in Mexico prior to Cuba's 5-3 loss to Colombia in the Bronze Medal {3rd place} game tonight in Mexico in the 12-nation U-23 Baseball World CUP. Cuba considers such defections a product of the U. S. Blockade that has evolved from the U. S. Embargo that began in 1962 for the stated purpose to starving, depriving, and making miserable Cubans on the island to induce them to overthrow their revolutionary government. Of course, since 1962 the Embargo-Blockade hasn't overturned Revolutionary Cuba but it surely has starved, deprived, and made miserable a lot of Cubans on the island while also enriching and empowering a lot of Cubans in the United States. Of course, there have been thousands of prime examples of that fact. And on October 2nd-2021 Bryan Chi became yet another example.
Throughout the Under-23 World Baseball CUP in Mexico, Cuban sportscasters had covered the event with honest live reports and live coverage of the televised games...and defections...that were beamed back to Cuba. In the broadcast above the Cuban manager, Eniel Sanchez, said: "I am so proud of my players, especially for the 6-2 win over the Dominican Republic. But through it all as the defections mounted and reached nine, my players still played their hearts out right to the last out in tonight's 5-3 loss to Colombia. We are all aware that the incentives all Cuban athletes face to defect by human traffickers backed by the U. S. government and by the U. S. media are profound. We all are also aware that the U. S. Major Leagues and the Cuban Baseball Federation signed a legitimate and sane deal in which Cuban players could be signed and treated like players from all other countries. But, of course, as soon as the MLB and CBF leaders had signed that agreement, Rubio and the other Cubans in the U. S. Congress easily and quickly ended the agreement, to the delight of the human trafficker's and counter-revolutionary Cubans who revel in such things. But please let me say again, I am proud of Cuba and I am proud of the players I had here in Mexico for this excellent baseball event."
And of course, since 1962 Americans have been programmed to believe that the image above is a nice depiction of America and its Democracy.

Cuba Eases Pandemic Surge

As the Month of October Starts!!

October 1-2021

Today -- on October 1, 2021 -- Cuba announced the latest COVID-19 statistics, which remain bad but sharply reduced in recent days as the island commences a massive vaccine campaign. As shown above, in the past 24 hours there have been 50 deaths {fallecidos} for a total of 7486 overall deaths in Cuba since the pandemic began in March of 2020. In the past 24 hours the most news cases, 985, have been registered in Pinar del Rio southwest of Havana, as you can see on the above map.
Everyday this week Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel has taken to the streets to discuss both the Pandemic and the U. S. Blockade with Cubans. Also on Television, Radio, and Social Media President Diaz-Canel has emphasized this message: "Despite what the massive U.S.-aligned media says, Cuba has important friends who are not bowing to what Miami and Washington dictate. Neither the pandemic nor the blockade will destroy your revolution or your family. We are not alone and you are not alone, but the most important support of our homeland comes from Cubans like you and these people with you."
All week President Miguel Diaz-Canel has used his forums to remind the Cuban people: "Our vaccine efforts are enabling us to plan for the full reopening of the island's national hospitality industry by December 30th of this year, but already the many Melia and Iberostar hotel and resort properties are beginning to resume with careful and adequate health protocols."
The Spanish Hotel and Resort giants -- Iberostar and Melia -- both back in September began international ads promoting the reopening of tourism for their luxurious properties in Cuba. Iberostar has 18 Cuban properties and Melia has 40.
Cuba is awash with some of the world's best beaches...such as CAYO SANTA MARIA, which in 2021 has been listed as the Second Best Beach in the World by TripAdvisor. Cuba's most famous beach, Veradero, has been in past listings been named The Best Beach in the World. Iberostar and Melia 4-star and 5-star Hotels & Resorts are ubiquitous on Cuban beaches but also in historic cities such as Havana, Santiago, Trinidad, etc.
While the U. S. media is obligated to report that Revolutionary Cuba will succumb to the twin perils of COVID-19 and the Blockade "any hour now," Cuba itself, as well as some important non-U. S. entities, are actually preparing for the Caribbean's Fall & Winter Tourism Season...and touting Cuba's beaches as more prized than nearby beaches, including those in Florida. As you can see below, the great London-based Reuters News Agency is not afraid to tell the world about Cuba's potential as a tourism mecca, despite the U. S. Blockade.
In fact, the new airline World 2 Fly, which is owned by Iberostar Hotels & Resorts, has already started flying its planes like this one to prime Cuban tourist locations.
