Yes, Florida NEEDS Cuba's Help

Sanity May Finally Arise!!

While the mainstream U. S. media is much too cowardly and far too obsessed with political propaganda to admit it, the Miami Herald again this week has published a major article that reveals why cooperation between Florida and Cuba, not more decades of hostility, may finally become the norm and not necessarily the exception. Written by Mimi Whitefield, the hugely important article is entitled: "U.S.-Cuban Marine Biologists Put An End To Academic Embargo." Florida's shoreline waters are so polluted that Governor Rick Scott recently called an "emergency" to deal with it. Meanwhile, nearby Cuba's shoreline waters are among the most pristine in the world...because Cuba has long maintained programs to protect its environment, including its territorial waters. The photo above showing sharks swimming just off the Cuban coast illustrates that fact. Thus, top marine scientists from the United States, including Florida, are flocking to Cuba to learn from the Cubans, such as at the very crowded and recent MarCuba Conference held in Havana.

The Mimi Whitefield/Miami Herald article also points out that, "Cuban coral may be more resilient to warming oceans." Miami and other coastal cities in Florida are particularly and direly threatened by Warming Oceans.

The Mimi Whitefield/Miami Herald article reveals that marine life, like the sea turtle above, flock to Cuba's pristine waters to escape Florida's polluted waters.

The Mimi Whitefield/Miami Herald article used photos like the one above to illustrate healthy marine life in Cuban waters in stark contrast to Florida's shoreline. Mimi Whitefield wrote: "The recent Cuban edition of the Bulletin of Marine Science was historic because for years the journal's editors believed the embargo prevented them from publishing the research papers of Cuban scientists. After the 1996 Helm-Burton Act strengthened the embargo..." OH YES, THE EMBARGO!!
On March 12, 1996, a very scared President Clinton was forced to sign the infamous Helms-Burton Act into law. This photo shows the very reluctant but obviously scared President Clinton {judge the photo for yourself} glancing up at fierce Counter Revolutionary Cuban-American Bob Menendez at that tragic signing. Right before the signing, Clinton had bravely vowed to normalize relations with Cuba. To this day, Menendez is still a scary force in the U. S. Senate, proving to many that a Cuban-American extremist from Newark or Miami will never be voted out of office. The FBI for years investigated Menendez on fraud and bribery charges related to a rich Miami benefactor and Menendez in 2017 survived a long and expensive federal trial only via a hung jury, but his reelection is, of course, assured. Meanwhile, Helms-Burton remains one of the blackest, most repressive, most cruel, and most Draconian blights on the formerly brave & strong U. S. democracy.
The Helms-Burton Act in 1996 tightened the U. S. embargo against Cuba by, for example, punishing nations that had the audacity to try to do business with Cuba. Imposed since 1962 to appease the revenge, economic, and political motives of a handful of two generations of Cuban-American extremists, DE-classified U. S. documents reveal that the purpose of the embargo is to starve, deprive, and make miserable the lives of everyday Cubans to entice them to rise up and overthrow their revolutionary government. While two generations of Americans have not had the guts to stand up to Helms-Burton, America's decent former President Barack Obama and the entire world, in 2016 as Obama was leaving office, voted 191-to-0 to CONDEMN the Helms-Burton-enhanced embargo. Yet, to this day in October-2018 the U. S. citizens in their weakened democracy do not have the guts to do something about Helms-Burton...or even to show embarrassment about the unanimity of its worldwide CONDEMNATION, probably the only topic in the entire world that could possibly attain such unanimity.
While two-term Democratic President Obama did all he could to correct the infamy of Helms-Burton, the U. S. has a two-party political system and all six Republican presidents since the 1950s have been aligned with the Batistiano-Mafiosi attempts to rape, rob and, if necessary, brutalize the island of Cuba. Thus, as shown above, Republican President Donald Trump quickly went to Little Havana in Miami and promised to reverse all of the positive Obama overtures to Cuba and, in fact, finally put the island back in the hands of the Counter Revolutionaries. In the photo above, take note of the two men in the red ties peering ominously down over Trump's Little Havana shoulders. Mario Diaz-Balart, the U. S. Congressman from Miami, is the son of Rafael Diaz-Balart, the former key Minister in the ousted Batista dictatorship and, of course, one of the richest and most vehement Counter Revolutionaries in Miami's history. Standing directly above Trump is Florida Governor Rick Scott, an example of powerful politicians in Florida who take their orders directly from the Counter Revolutionary Cubans. Closing out his term as Governor, Scott is currently in a heated race to join Counter Revolutionary Marco Rubio as Florida's other United States Senator. To get to the U. S. Congress from Florida, one has to sell-out to the Counter Revolutionaries...a democratic shame for the United States because, with New York and California both eternally aligned to left-wing extremism, Florida is by far the largest and most important so-called "swing state" in America's money-crazed political system.
The photo above is courtesy of Ashley SomwaruIt shows Dr. Patricia Gonzalez-Diaz, the University of Havana's renowned director at the Cuban Center for Marine Research. Dr. Gonzalez-Diaz was prominently highlighted in the aforementioned Mimi Whitefield/Miami Herald article that explained why Florida is begging Cuba for help in marine research. Dr. Gonzalez-Diaz is willing to help correct Florida's direly polluted coastal waters, and she is a prime reason that Cuba's coastal waters are so uniquely pristine. But if she is permitted to continue to help Florida, the Counter Revolutionary extremists who have dictated Florida's politics since 1959 must concede that it might be time to put the recapture of Cuba aside and consider what is in the best interest of most Floridians and most Cuban-Americans.
It is a geographical fact that Miami and Cuba are not only on the same planet, they are earthly but unfriendly NEIGHBORS.
Two sovereign nations need each other.
And by the way:
Baseball-loving Cubans now are forced to consider this latest Havana-to-Miami connection. The Mesa brothers -- 22-year-old Victor Mesa and 17-year-old Victor Mesa Jr. -- signed Monday, Oct. 22nd -- with the Miami Marlins. Major League Baseball in the USA rates Victor not only as Cuba's best player but the best International Player in the world. An outfielder like his older brother, Victor Jr. is a teenage switch-hitter rated almost as highly as his brother. The added pain for Cubans is the fact that the Mesa Brothers are the sons of Cuba's legendary player and manager Victor Mesa Sr.
Just a couple of years ago another set of Cuban brothers whose father was a legendary baseball icon on the island defected to the U. S. to become instant millionaire American baseball stars. Lourdes Gurriel in 2018 quickly became a Major League star with the Toronto Blue Jays and Yuri Gurriel as a Major League rookie in 2017 helped the Houston Astros win the World Series. In fact, last month -- September, 2018 -- Lourdes and Yuri became the first brothers IN MAJOR LEAGUE HISTORY to each hit two home runs on the very same night. Lourdes in his first two at bats for Toronto belted homers and Yuri on the same night on his first two at bats belted homers for the Houston Astros.
The Gurriel brothers are shown above with their father Lourdes Gurriel Sr. on the right. Yuli is shown holding the oldest of his two sons. The vast pipeline from Cuba to the USA is now massively absorbing the island's Treasure Trove of baseball talent, as personified by the Gurriel brothers quickly followed this week by the Mesa brothers. The fact that the two fathers -- Victor Mesa Sr. and Lourdes Gurriel Sr. -- are the two greatest baseball stars in Cuban history merely adds to the baseball gloom in Havana, which I know first-hand.
A great young television news anchor in Havana and a great person, Rosy Amaro Perez, happens to be my friend whom I communicate with to monitor the pulse and rhythms of the island. Rosy, like most Cubans, is a dedicated baseball fan. She cherishes the Havana Industriales. On her Facebook page Monday night Rosy posted a photo of the Mesa brothers in their new Miami Marlins uniforms. She wrote: "Los hijos de Victor Mesa ahora jugaran por los Marlins de Miami. Para Cuba, orgullo...orgullo o trisleza." {"Victor Mesa's children will now play for the Miami Marlins. For Cuba, pride...pride or sadness."}. Pride for Rosy in her appreciation of Cuba's baseball talent but sadness when the island's best young stars, one after the other, leave for the extreme wealth of the United States.

Baseball Unites Havana-Miami

Creating Cuban-USA Millionaires!!
{For: Monday, October 22nd, 2018}
In baseball-mad Cuba, Victor Mesa was Fidel Castro's favorite player and later the Manager of Cuban national teams that, for a while, dominated international competition, including the Olympics, the World Baseball Classic, and Latin American championships. But that domination faded because of vast defections fueled by a lucrative Cuba-to-USA baseball pipeline that made instant millionaires out of players as well as agents and others. Today -- October 22nd, 2018 -- Victor Mesa's two sons will become millionaires when they sign with the Miami Marlins.
Victor Mesa's two sons are 22-year-old Victor Mesa, shown on the left-above in this Jesse Sanchez/MLB photo, and his younger brother Victor Mesa Jr., who is 17-years-old. Today the Miami Marlins will sign Victor Mesa to a contract guaranteeing him about $5 million and Victor Mesa Jr. will be guaranteed about $1 million. Victor Mesa is currently rated MLB's #One international prospect, which is saying a lot considering how dependent all 30 USA Major league teams are on foreign players -- especially from the Dominion Republic where all 30 MLB teams have state-of-the-art, year-around baseball facilities staffed with high-priced coaches, trainers, scouts, etc. But MLB teams are also crowded with Superstar players from Cuba, Venezuela, Puerto Rico, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, and even the Netherlands. Because U.S.-Cuban relations are unique, at one point all 30 teams could bid on Cuban stars, resulting in guaranteed contracts up to $72 million. The Boston Red Sox player from Cuba who got the $72 million turned out to not be a Major League-caliber talent but all the money was guaranteed. Now MLB tries to get even the Cuban contracts more realistic, resulting in Victor Mesa, the top prospect in the world, having to settle for about a $5 million guarantee tomorrow in Miami while the Marlins guarantee the teenage Victor Mesa Jr., a switch-hitting outfielder, about $1 million. Of course, if they turn out to be Major Leaguers, they can earn $30 million-A-YEAR like the New York Mets' Cuban outfielder Yoenis Cespedes.
Prior to the Mesa brothers signing with the Miami Marlins today, the previous high-profile Cuban brothers who landed huge guaranteed contracts in the U. S. were Yuri Gurriel, on the left above, and his younger brother Lourdes. Last year as a rookie Yuri massively helped the Houston Astros win the 2017 World Series. And this year Lourdes became an instant MLB star with the Toronto Blue Jays. Like the Mesa brothers, Yuri and Lourdes Gurriel are the sons of a former Cuban baseball icon, Lourdes Gurriel Sr., who was extremely close to Fidel Castro and, like the Gurriel and Mesa brothers, beloved by the baseball-loving fans in Cuba.
Last year the moment after he helped the Houston Astros win the World Series, Yuri Gurriel was shown on television wrapping himself in a huge Cuban flag and, in interviews, reminding Cubans on the island that his heart is still with them. But his family is growing up now very rich in the USA. He is shown above with his wife Lianet and their first son.
And now Yuli and Lionet have a second son, which Yuli is tenderly holding above.
The two Mesa brothers, both outfielders, will sign with the Miami Marlins today but the above 16-year-old right-handed pitcher Sandy Gaston is another Cuban about to become a USA millionaire. Both the Tampa Bay Rays and the Baltimore Orioles are anxious to sign him. Sandy Gaston is only 16-years-old but he already has a 97-MPH fastball. A 17-year-old Cuban right-handed pitcher named Asvani Gulierrez recently signed with the Los Angeles Dodgers. To prevent rich teams like the Dodgers from buying all the best international players, Major League Baseball now has a limit on the amount of money each team can spend, with the poorer and weaker teams being allowed to spend the most to purchase Cubans like the three above.
Earlier this year an All-Star team of top USA college baseball players went to Cuba and played a 4-game series against a comparable Cuban team in Havana.
Born 33 years ago in Campechuela, Cuba, Yoenis Cespedes broke into the U. S. Major Leagues in 2011 with the Oakland A's. He is now an outfielder with the New York Mets. According to the definitive baseball reference.com, the exact salaries for Cespedes in just the last three years as an outfielder with the New York Mets are: $27,500,000 in 2016; $$22,500,000 in 2017; and $29,000,000 in 2018. Because of injuries, Cespedes played in only 38 games this season for the Mets, but every dime of his $29 million was guaranteed...and some athletes in the USA make more money from endorsements than they make in salaries.
When baseball headlines are made in the USA, it's often Cubans who make them. The photo above, courtesy of NBC Sports, shows Yasiel Puig on his joyous home-run trot last night -- October 20th, 2018. Puig's 3-run homer was the decisive blow that propelled the Los Angeles Dodgers into the World Series, which starts in Boston Tuesday night. It helped eliminate the Milwaukee Brewers in Game 7 of the Best-of-Seven for the National League title.
Born 27-years-old ago in Cienfuegos, Cuba, Yusiel Puig signed a 7-year, $42 million contract with the LA Dodgers on June 28th, 2012, and in 2013 he was quickly a sensational Major League rookie with the ultra-rich Dodgers. But Yusiel also personifies the dark side of such instantly available enormous wealth in the USA. On his way from Cuba to the USA, smugglers kidnapped Yusiel and held him for ransom, threatening to give him the "Machelazo Treatment," which is well-known in Latin America as using a machete to chop off fingers, toes, etc., if ransom is not paid. Yasiel's Wikipedia bio explains it this way: "The smugglers offered to sell Puig for $250,000 to a rich Miamian Raul Pacheco. Puig paid Pacheco over $1.3 million; $400,000 to $500,000 to Alberto Farinas, the President of a company Pacheco owned; and $600,000 to a Miami lawyer. He also paid an undisclosed amount to Gilberto Suarez, founder of a start-up company called Miami Sport Management." So, the unique U.S.-Cuba relationship even when it comes to baseball continues to create all kinds of extreme wealth, especially in Miami. All of those Wikipedia-described payments, of course, still leaves Puig a millionaire many times over, and at age 27, after his headline-grabbing homer last night, more millions will follow in rich, celebrity-obsessed LA.
And, uh, Yasiel Puig -- one of many Cuban contributions to the Los Angeles Dodgers -- is somewhat controversial. Yasiel has twice been charged with speeding -- 97 MPH in Tennesse and 110 MPH in Florida. He has three sons -- Daniel, Diego, and Damian born in 2013, 2017, and 2018. The above photo thrilled his Twitter fans.
And, of course, so did this Yasiel Puig gem, which is courtesy of Dodgers Digest.
The vast Cuba-to-the-USA Baseball Pipeline features, left to right above, Yoenis Cespedes, Yasiel Puig, and Jose Abreu AND DOZENS MORE, with dozens of others back on the front end of the pipeline and still in Cuba. Tomorrow -- October 22nd, 2018 -- when the Mesa brothers sign with the Miami Marlins, the trend merely gets another big jolt. And it's an unending trend. Boys as young as 4-years-old in the Dominion Republic, Cuba, Venezuela, Puerto Rico, etc., are now being trained to one day play baseball in the USA, creating massively lucrative Pipelines.

Trump's Cuban War Is Imminent

The Pretexts Being Laid at UN!!
And with Selected Journalists!!
{Updated: Friday, October 19th, 2018}
This week -- October 17th, 2018 -- a major U. S. news agency, McClatchy, had an intentionally sourced article/warning that revealed that President Trump is sending out selected minions to explain why he is planning to execute two regime changes -- in Cuba and Venezuela. I say that well aware that the U. S. media is mostly obsessed these days with Trump's own demise and, at the moment, concentrating on Trump's taking up for his alleged close friends atop governments such as Saudi Arabia and Russia. Those obsessions play into Trump's hands regarding his imminent plans to overthrow the governments of Cuba and Venezuela. As you prepare to dismiss...or laugh at...that prospect, let me explain.
The vast McClatchy News Agency's primary Trump-White House expert is Franco Ordonez. If you don't believe Trump plans imminent regime changes in Cuba and Venezuela, ask Ordonez. He penned the McClatchy article Oct. 17-2018 entitled: "TRUMP TAKES AIM AT CUBA, HOLDS HAVANA RESPONSIBLE FOR VENEZUELA CRISIS." Before he can attack Cuba, Trump needs a pretext and that explains this week's UN tirade against Cuba presented by Trump's minion, the lawyer Kelley E. Currie. And it explains the Ordonez article this week as Trump's war-mongers carefully selected a major anti-Cuban journalist to build businessman Trump's primary pretexts for attacking Cuba, one of which is the fact that troubled Venezuela still has the world's largest oil reserves. This is a key Ordonez paragraph in his article: "President Donald Trump's National Security Adviser, John Bolton, will unveil more details on the work of Cuban operatives in Venezuela, but the senior administration official said the United States plans to ratchet up its pressure on Cuba, especially the Cuban military that assists with Venezuela's counterintelligence efforts."
This particular week, of course, President Trump is embroiled with accusations he is defending "ally" Saudi Arabia in the alleged murder-dismemberment of a Washington Post journalist the Saudi strongman didn't like. The Post on October 18, 2018, screamed this headline: "SEE NO EVIL, HEAR NO EVIL, SPEAK NO EVIL." For financial reasons, all Republican administrations since the 1950s have gotten away with defending vicious dictators -- Pinochet in Chile, Batista in Cuba, Trujillo in the Dominican Republic, Samosa in Nicaragua, and countless others. So, Trump defending the controversial leaders in Saudi Arabia, Russia, North Korea, etc., is actually par-for-the-course. But if the Saudi uproar is currently pushing other Trump issues to the sidelines, Trump is still laying the groundwork for his regime changes in Cuba and Venezuela...as was very apparent at the UN this week and is very apparent in the not-so-subtle foreshadowing in the McClatchy article.
Americans have been proselytized since 1959 to believe that the brutal, thieving Batista-Mafia dictatorship in Cuba in the 1950s was a sweet, Mother Teresa-type operation...and that Revolutionary Cuba since 1959 has been the world's worst and most brutal nation. Such massive propaganda makes it easy for President Trump to quickly go to Little Havana in Miami and promise the remnants of Brigade 2506 that he will avenge the humiliation of the infamous April-1961 Bay of Pigs attack on Cuba. To avenge the Bay of Pigs while a few of the Cuban-American attackers remain alive, along with their Counter Revolutionary offspring, is a promise Trump plans to keep, even as much more publicized and tumultuous challenges circulate around him. Cuba is the one topic that even the left-wing United States media, which is obsessed with a coup to dethrone Trump, does not have the guts to hold him accountable for, even if he would eviscerate 11.2 million Cubans on the island. That, of course, would be a step beyond the embargo, which has existed since 1962. According to declassified U. S. documents, the intention of the embargo was/is to starve, deprive, and make miserable the lives of everyday Cubans to induce them to rise up and overthrow their revolutionary government. But that's on an island that suffered drastically from centuries of foreign domination by Spain and then the United States {1898-1959}, so the embargo as well as many other assaults such as the 1961 Bay of Pigs military attack have failed miserably.
Yet, since 1962 the Batistiano grip on the U. S. democracy has been been so pervasive that the embargo and other such schemes have been allowed to drain both the U. S. treasury and America's reputation...as highlighted by the loud unanimity {191-to-0} of the worldwide UN vote in 2016, which was approved by America's then decent President, Barack Obama, in the last year of his 8 years as President of the United States. But following Obama, the extreme left-wing tilt of the Democratic Party -- INCREDIBLY -- put Trump in the White House in 2017 and...ALSO INCREDIBLY...may get Trump re-elected in 2020.
With unprecedented guts, intelligence, and decency, President Obama battled the Batistiano-fueled U. S. Congress to try to spare the U. S. democracy the shame of the embargo against Cuba and, when Obama left office on January 20, 2017, he had done all he could to normalize relations with Cuba. Unfortunately, another Republican White House, Donald Trump's, has/is returned/is returning America's Cuban policy to the Counter Revolutionary extremists in Miami and in the U. S. Congress. And neither the decent American people nor the precious U. S. democracy seem strong enough to counter-act the Counter Revolutionary Cubans and their self-serving sycophants. Thus, the Carlos LaTuff image depicted above represents the worldwide view of America's once respected Uncle Sam encircling the island of Cuba with insatiable greed and grubby hands. Like the 191-to-0 UN vote, this image of the U. S. shames and embarrasses democracy-loving Americans and yet it appears that there are not enough democracy-loving Americans that any Batistiano-related Cuban policy will shame or embarrass. That includes this week's lawyerly U. S. tirade at the UN apparently designed to excuse Trump's nefarious designs on Cuba.
And so, if you don't think President Trump is planning on imminent regime changes in Cuba and Venezuela, ask Kelley E. Currie, the lawyer who caused an uproar this week at the United Nations when she read a long script outlining precisely why it is necessary for the United States to overthrow both the Cuban and Venezuelan governments -- to protect Democracy, OF COURSE!!
Or...ask Franco Ordonez why his McClatchy article from his inside perch at the White House this week minutely laid out why it is necessary for President Trump to overthrow the Cuban government as a first step to overthrowing the Venezuelan government. Neither the timing of the Kelley E. Currie tirade at the UN nor the Ordonez article this week are coincidental. Regardless of what other turmoil is engulfing Commander-in-Chief Trump, keeping the promise he made to the Little Havana Brigade 2506 extremists is a top-of-the-order priority for President Trump, who believes that propagandized Americans as well as the intimidated media will accept any bloody overthrow of the Cuban and Venezuelan governments. Ms. Currie at the UN and Mr. Ordonez at the McClatchy media empire this week were used as pawns to point out the absolute necessity for executing regime changes in Cuba first and  Venezuela second.
The two most powerful influences on President Trump at the moment are his National Security Adviser John Bolton and his Secretary of State Mike Pompeo. Out of the 325 million or so Americans, Bolton and Pompeo are beyond question the two most acute war-mongers Trump could have put in those two powerful positions. In their entire political careers, both John Bolton and Mike Pompeo have advocated overthrowing Cuba's revolutionary government...and finally thanks to Trump they are in positions to dictate that advocacy to their Commander-in-Chief. That, of course, is a basic fact that the mainstream U. S. media, including the left-wing anti-Trump zealots, do not have the guts to mention. {The top Cuban-American newsman in Miami, Emilio Milian, got car-bombed for merely suggesting that Cuban-American terrorists should stop killing so many innocent Cubans, such as with the bombing of the civilian Cubana Flight 455, and to this day the U. S. media remembers those events but U. S. citizens are not supposed to Google either Emilio Milian or Cubana Flight 455}.
The Counter Revolutionary extremists headquartered in Miami's Little Havana sector since 1959 have finally struck the Mother Lode, and their bonanza is personified by John Bolton, Donald Trump, and Mike Pompeo. Permit me to repeat: Bolton and Pompeo have long desired the vehement overthrow of the Cuban government and they are now positioned to accomplish that because Trump happens to be the Republican President with the political and economic incentives to grant Bolton's and Pompeo's Cuban desires, with Venezuela being a HUGE secondary prize. And that's precisely what the Kelley E. Currie and the Franco Ordonez shenanigans were all about this week. Yes, Americans are programmed to ignore such things when the subject is Cuba but ignoring the Bolton-Trump-Pompeo designs on the nearby island will come at America's and Democracy's peril, with the taxpayers paying for the humiliating shame...just as we've paid for the Bay of Pigs and other such humiliations orchestrated by greedy war-mongers.
Meanwhile:
Cubans on the island are excited about a new Constitution they are now being asked to study and then approve early in 2019. "Mi Voluntad, Mi Constitucion" translates to "My Will, My Constitution." {The first new Constitution since the 1970s}So far, Cubans seem to like their new President, Miguel Diaz-Canel, and their proposed new Constitution. They were proud of Diaz-Canel's recent week in New York City and his two UN speeches.

Cuba-U.S. Catfight at UN

Ramifications Leave Smoldering Ashes!!
Cuba's Permanent Representative to the United Nations is Anayansi Rodriguez Camejo. She went ballistic in the UN this week. It was in reaction to her listening to a U. S. representative reading a multi-page script that essentially accused Cuba of being the world-leader in imprisoning and murdering its own citizens. Camejo, other Cubans, and Cuban supporters then began pounding their desks and shouting slogans such as "Cuba yes!! Embargo No!! Stop Reading Wild Lies."
The U. S. representative who read that scathing assault on Cuba was a lawyer named Kelley E. Currie. Flummoxed by the Cuban uproar, Currie kept asking for "security" to remove the Cubans and their supporters from the UN chamber. That was  not done, so Currie kept reading the multiple-pages that reflect absurd accusations that only the most self-serving Counter Revolutionaries concoct -- such as Senator Marco Rubio and some of the well-known extremists that President Trump has allowed Rubio to appoint to strategic and tax-absorbing positions aimed at hurting Cuba the most -- such as former Miami Mayor Tomas Regalado, extreme anti-Cuban zealot Mauricio Claver-Carone, etc., etc.
In countering the Counter Revolutionary vitriol read at the UN by Kelley E. Currie, Cuba's UN Ambassador Anayonsi Rodriguez Camejo, during and after the heated session, accused the U. S. of reacting to the strong week Cuba's new President, Miguel Diaz-Canel, recently had at the UN and elsewhere around New York City, including Google boss Eric Schmidt hosting Diaz-Canel at a business conference that included many other top American executives. Camejo said, "We all know the Cuban war-mongers in Miami and Washington go somewhat insane if there is ever a Cuban positive they can't control. But the U. S. lacks the moral authority to judge Cuba, especially inventing absurd lies. The current U. S. administration drives an agenda of supremacist, racist, and xenophobic ideas. There is practically no crime in Cuba, as visitors and journalists well know, and that angers the Republicans and the anti-Cuban forces in Miami's Little Havana section. The U. S. founders invented something called Manifest Destiny to justify murdering Native American Indians to clear the land for white settlers. Some call that genocide. The long period of slave suppression of black Americans, buttressed with shameful legal hangings, is uniquely American, as is the more recent shootings of African-Americans by white policemen. If such things happened in Cuba, we would honestly expect a second successful Revolution to correct it, and our current successful Revolution indeed corrected such atrocities that were rampant when the United States and the U. S Mafia supported the Batista regime on our island.  My point is this...lying to the American people about Cuba seems all-to-easy but lying face-to-face to Cuba at the United Nations is something we feel obligated to respond to."
Late today -- Wednesday, 4:38 P. M., October 17, 2018 -- Cuba's President, Miguel Diaz-Canel -- used his Twitter account to comment about the U. S. attack against Cuba at the UN. The presidential Tweet that you see above stressed: "The failure of the anti-Cuban show orchestrated by the Department of State to justify the blockade..." Cuba since 1962 has called the U. S. embargo "a blockade" and not just an embargo.
